I have been here a few times and cant believe i havent written a review. For breakfast, this is the place to go, outside seating is nice but inside is very warming. We never had a problem with the food and the portions are always perfect. Last week i had family visit and they always went to another local place but never came here. Service was a little bit slow, but they were all very friendly. We were in town for two days, and we had breakfast here both days because we enjoyed it so much the first day. I ordered the Monterey Scramble and it was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the french toast and said it was pretty standard. The second day I ordered Joel's Breakfast which was really good. My girlfriend ordered the California Omelette and it was also very good. They serve coffee in large mugs so they don't need to be refilled as often, which is a good thing since the service is a little slow. The ambiance is really quaint and cute. A great place for breakfast on a warm day since they have a nice patio out front. The busy Spring St. runs right by, so you might get annoyed by the cars and motorcycles roaring by. If the service and location were better, this would be a 5-star rating for sure! Still, if you're in Paso Robles and need breakfast, you won't regret going here. read more

We ordered the seafood combo which had sauteed calamari,shrimp and scallops. Everything was amazing and tasted fresh! Even the dinner salad was above par! There was only one server on duty (small restaurant) but he was extremely attentive and helpful with our selections. We ate here the last time we were in Paso Robles and enjoyed it very much. We had forgotten about it but, when we came into town and saw the picket fence it reminded us. It is a very quaint place. Javier, our waiter was very charming, and his service was inpeccable. He was quick to keep our glasses full and get whatever we needed. The food also was great. Had a very poor dinner. The menu was limited and prices were high for what it was. The fish on the fish and chips entre was frozen fish. The fries were quite good. I'm a local, but won't try it again. My husband and i have eaten breakfast there twice, but there are many better places in Paso. read more

I'm a local that has been looking for a quality breakfast place in the area; now I've found it. I stopped in on a rather busy Sunday, and had the brunch. I went with the seafood omelette, which may have been one of the best omelettes I've ever had! The staff was extremely courteous and attentive, but not overly (I for one hate being asked how my food is while I am currently chewing!) The prices were very modest as well. If you are looking to get away from the crowds in downtown Paso Robles this is the place. We visited Springside Restaurant on a Friday evening. The restaurant was quiet and no waiting. Just what we like for a dinner for two. The food was excellent. Dinners priced between $15 and $20.00, but the quality of the meal was worth more. If you judge a restaurant buy it's bread this place is five star! The bread is hot and fresh out of the oven. Yum! They carry a good local wine selection including my favorite - Opolo Mountain Zin. I think this is my new favorite dinner spot. If you are travel through town and don't want fast food this spot is easy to find. Located at the corner of 17th and Spring Street. read more

Great find on a recent trip through Paso Robles. Cute little place with great ambience. Everything was delicious. We were there for lunch and had the tuna sandwich and the chili burger. Both were made with fresh ingredients and came with tasty side salad choices. While we were there another customer requested a pineapple cream pie. They didn't have one but the chef made one just for her and us because we nosed our way into the deal. How many places would do that for a customer?? A cute, tucked away, breakfast gem just outside the heart of Downtown Paso Robles. The food is reasonably priced. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. I would have given this place only one star if the service had not been so attentive. The pros: good service and good coffee. The cons: under seasoned breakfast potatoes, overcooked bacon, too small portion (said of one of the scrambles,by my boyfriend), soggy English muffin (in the Southwestern, BEFORE I cut into the poached eggs), and bland salsa served with the Southwestern breakfast dish. I like my bacon tender, so it actually tastes like bacon vs. cardboard. But this place did what too many do, which is cook it to the point where it falls apart once you pick it up to put it in your mouth. TOO much! For a dish called the Southwestern, it was SO bland and lacking in spice that I couldn't believe it. The green chiles on this dish had no 'heat' whatsoever. Potatoes were cooked enough, but really lacked salt, pepper and other potentially decent spices (could've done better at home). The sourdough toast was unexceptional, sad when some other local places clearly either make their own tasty loaves or at least buy fresh from good bakeries. This is a great little breakfast-lunch place on the edge of downtown Paso Robles, right on Spring St, which is the main big street in town. The place is very nice, attractive, and clean inside and the food is great, with great pancakes, scrambles, etc.. Everything that we have had is done very well. My wife and I went to Springside on our recent visit to Paso. We never visited it when we lived in the area, was worth the visit. The French toast was good, not legendary but still a very good French toast. My wife got the pancake, egg, and bacon combo and she enjoyed it as well. The pancakes were HUGE. Overall the food is good, the prices are fair and service was adequate. I don't know if ill be back but if I do end up going back, I'd be okay with it! read more

Healthier homestyle breakfast! I chose the special, bacon frittata. It was filled with sautéed veggies and covered with cheese. Good proportion size. The staff was very sweet and attentive. They have a cute little patio potion which showed a nice view of some of the historic architecture and beautiful trees. The only downside was the biscuit that came as a side was quite dry. But I'm willing to overlook that as I don't usually eat a ton of bread :) read more

Usually I try the burgers in a restaurant that I haven't been to before, because I feel if they can't get their burgers right, then it's not worth coming back to. But today since I dined alone, I opted for the avocado supreme. It didn't disappoint. It was fresh and plentiful. The avocado was a little hard and there was way to many red onions on it for my taste, but I just pulled them off. The biggest reason I picked the 'almost' veggie sandwich was because, I hadn't been here before, I was checking the freshness of veggies they serve. Because that also is a sign of a good restaurant. We were in Paso on business and not at all familiar with the area. We took Yelp's suggestion and came here. The selections were limited for breakfast and most items were a la carte. I ordered a Spanish omelette which the menu said came with tomatoes , onions, cheese, sour cream and chilies. The omelette I received had an abundance of chilies and cheese. I did not want sour cream. The meal came with a muffin that I waited for and finally had to request. The apple cinnamon muffin came, no choice on flavor, cold with a pat of even colder butter. Love this place! We visit the Paso area each year around the holiday season and are sure to make this a tradition to indulge in at least once. The food and service are both exceptional, though admittedly when it gets busy the food takes a little longer to get out but definitely nothing to get frustrated about. Coming from a large city, we really enjoy sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the small town feel and warm welcoming of this establishment. I'm also quite the coffee snob so I was pleased to find they served some decent morning brew (Farmers Coffee). Our waitress on our first visit was very passionate about making the coffee just right which is exactly what I look for. They also provide a very large to-go cup for my road coffee - which is great to sip on while touring wine country. Who doesn't appreciate a place that makes great breakfast meals! The service was horrible and the good was over priced. Our waiter didn't bring a child menu and we waited for him to return for over 10 mins and there was only two other people there, when we finally got to order he then interrupted me while I was ordering to tell me that I needed to order off of the adult menu because my child would not be able to eat 2 meals (he assumed I was ordering for myself even though I had two kids with me) when I explained I was not ordering for myself, he rolled his eyes and made a snide comment! Visited here twice for breakfast. Tried both savory and "sweet" breakfast breakfast choices. The corned beef hash was excellent; biscuit was very large - happy I choose it. The other breakfast entree I enjoyed was the apricot French toast - a little sweet, but good with the cream cheese filling. The service was prompt and friendly. There is outside seating under umbrellas if you'd like to enjoy the fresh air. They have the own parking lot in the back and there is easy wheelchair access. Nice traditional breakfast food items. The place is adorable, and the service is good. It is a small place, but their tables can be moved to accommodate a larger group...at least with reservations. We were a group of 7 who made reservations on Friday for Saturday breakfast. read more
