Very disappointed in our recent visit. Have always enjoyed lunch on the rooftop at The Ben. Increased prices, less offerings on the menu. Food was mediocre. Crabcakes were mushy. Entree salad was tiny. $21 for an Aperol Spritz! Really? Now I know why it wasn't busy! Asked to break out one non drinker on the bill but was told they could not do that. Then was told they could only use three cards, not four. What??? There are far better places in West Palm Beach to enjoy lunch with girlfriends. Don't waste your money. Go to Pastiche. One more thing. No one mentioned that (the expensive) valet parking can be validated at the restaurant. read more

Beautiful spot for lunch but the food is on and off. We've been there a few times returning hoping the food would get better. This last time will be the last time. An appetizer of crab cakes for $35 was very disappointing. The crab was mushy and a lot of breading. It could have been canned crab. The horiatiki salad could have been a side dish not a luncheon salad. The carrot hummus was delicious. We asked for taro chips or regular chips with the pita bread as we had a gluten free guest. They were out of both. Thursday lunch during season? Shouldn't happen. Our server was lovely. We thought the menu was very limited and very expensive for what we got. I made a reservation 2 weeks before Valentine's Day and verified with the restaurant that they wouldn't have a custom menu just for Valentine's Day dinner (this was a big determining factor on if I was going to dine here). I was assured that it would be the full menu. Once I got to the restaurant on Valentine's Day, it was a custom menu. The menu was missing a bunch of items from the normal menu and left me with only the skirt steak option. I tried to order it and was told that they ran out for the night. I then tried to get a regular burger (something that is usually on the menu and an item on the menu downstairs) and was told they couldn't do it. The only item I was left with was a $99 prime rib, which was 4 pieces of steak. The manager did visit our table where he seemed understanding and comped our dessert. Thank you, however, this is very unprofessional, and people with reservations should have been notified about this menu switch. If you're planning on going here for a special occasion, just take into consideration that they take many items off their menu. read more

I had the lobster avocado salad which was super fresh with generous potions of both ingredients and a beautiful flavor balance. My Butterfly effect cocktail was good but kinda bored me toward the end. There was a nice crowd on Tuesday night for it being generally dead in WPB on Tuesday's. The uniformity in beverage offerings is essential, regardless of the guest's standing or preference. Servers are advised to exercise patience before clearing menus from tables, giving consideration to the possibility that guests may still require them for reference. A few friends and I visited the rooftop bar Spruzzos for dinner. This spot is decorated so nicely and it's conveniently located in The Ben where Proper Grit is. For the appetizer we tried the honey wings and it was amazing. The sauce that came with them is to die for! My tequila based drink was very strong (more bang for my buck)!! My entree was a fish sandwich which was delicious as well. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive. She recommended we try the carrot cake ice cream sandwiches for dessert and they were a 10/10! I can't wait to return for happy hour during the sunset or weekend brunch! read more

Came here on a Sunday around 6:00pm, you could tell people had been partying pool-side for a while. Seems like a great place for a Sunday drunch pool party vibe, with cabanas and tables along the pool, as well as little tables along the glass half-wall facing Lake Worth Lagoon/ Atlantic Intracoastal. There was very loud music being played by a DJ around the bar and the initial entry area. We wanted to be able to have a conversation, so we asked to be seated further away, which was not a problem. They sat us on the far end of the pool and we were able to enjoy the ambiance from afar while catching up. Our server (Sabrina) was very helpful in describing all the options from drinks to the food menu. If there was anything she didn't know, she would go inquire and quickly return with an answer- one member of our party was gluten free, and Sabrina was very patient and accommodating to inform her what was and was not an option. She also informed us that due to changes with the executive chef, the menu was in the process of changing. Again, she was knowledgeable and friendly in describing what was the same, what was different and what was *better* than before. She was extremely helpful in all our choices and didn't steer us wrong. Pretty much everything we had was delicious. Prices are what you'd expect for a nice rooftop bar in downtown West Palm- expensive. We shared 3 appetizers, 2 entrees and had about 2 drinks per person and it was around $400, gratuity was not included. For those of you wondering about the menu changes- it looks like these things are part of the *new menu* (sorry I didn't get any pics of the menu, but it's transitional anyways. I would probably order everything again, except the chicken wings- for me, these had a little too much unrendered fat, and seasoning/sauce was just okay... literally only thing left on the table was a single wing. But who goes to a nice place for the wings? I would definitely order the lamb chop lollipops again and the churrasco steak (not pictured). Spruzzo is a decent place to visit when out for a night on the town. The atmosphere is very chic in the Ben hotel with lots of pretty decor and swanky people to match. The elevator up the rooftop is one of the fun parts with its open view to the intracoastal. It was crowded when we went and it took us a little while to get seats at the bar. The servers were friendly and as attentive as they could be with a full bar. The music was very loud, but it fit the Saturday night vibe, although not conducive to much conversation. The cocktails were good, but definitely overpriced. Essentially paying for the ambiance rather than the product. Overall a good time. If for nothing else, go for the view and people watching. Had a reservation at 8:30 didn't get sat till 8:40. Took about 30 minutes for our server to greet us and an additional 20 minutes to even get some water for the table (had to flag down a busser). That's 50 minutes before even getting some water. Server finally takes our entree orders and I asked for grilled steak and she says I'm sorry we ran out of steak. No big deal. I asked her when did you guys run out? She says oh about 20 minutes ago. Ordered something else. Not once did she stop by and ask how our food was, she also never even told us her name. Pretty disappointed by this experience and I almost decided to speak to a manager but I decided not to be that guy. Ambiance was cool, great setting, music, lighting, and overall vibe. The experience of The Ben was incredible. 10 out 10 service. Dani, Elle, and Blandinne were THE BEST bartenders. I had an espresso martini, which was WAY better than Lynoras. The service was great, the bartenders were so attentive. The atmosphere was awesome, great views of the water from the bar. The drinks were fantastic, garnish's in every drink. 10 out of 10 Spruzzo. I went for lunch with some friends while visiting the area, and Spruzzo was a good experience. Located atop the swanky Ben Hotel with a glorious view of the Intracostal and the island of Palm Beach, it exudes a fancy vibe from the moment to ascend the glass elevator. The cocktail I had, a "frosé," was truly nothing more than average, and I would probably stick to wine at this location. I split a lobster and avocado salad appetizer, which was more vegetables/fruits than lobster, but it was perfectly fine. The Caesar salad was even better, and the blackened shrimp on top were truly delicious. Service was surprisingly slow for the venue. All in all, we spent an exorbitant sum on lunch here, and I am not sure if it was worth it, but at least we felt fancy. read more

We sat as far away as possible from the DJ booth, but it was still so loud. The service was kind of slow. We had a bottle of rose, which was nice but we ended up having to refill our glasses since they were understaffed. We ordered a margarita "pizzeta" but it was not good. It seemed like they used a premade pita or something and the crust was almost like having a Stacy pita chip. We should have ordered a burger or anything else. I would skip this place for food. If you want to people watch and listen to really loud club music, then this place is for you! I happen to come here on a spur of a moment and it's a mixture of thoughts for me. It's a rooftop restaurant with a bar that resides at the Ben Hotel in downtown West Palm Beach. Even though it may have beautiful intercoastal and city views, the prices are steep. It was my fault for not checking the prices before hand and I didn't think it would be that much for one cocktail. I got a frozen strawberry daquiri and it turned out to be 19 bucks for one! I could have 3 of them elsewhere for the same price, so you're paying for the elegant hotel that it resides at. However, the place is definitely shabby and it's awesome for picture taking. It even has a pool next to the restaurant. I didn't even walk over to that part since all of us were having too much fun at the bar. I wouldn't mind going back there, but I'll save and spend the money on a cider bottle next time ;) read more

The service, view and ambiance of this place is AMAZING! We loved sitting outside, looking out to the intercostal. Our waitress was absolutely lovely too. Not even a glass of water, mind you the restaurant was completely empty with a few people at the bar.
