True cod two 2 Piece Fish & Fries; pineapple milkshake
Tia P.

I got a true cod two piece meal and upgraded my drink to a pineapple shake and it was delicious! Service was great, I was originally going to order these things separately but the staff recommended a meal so it would be cheaper! I also like the decor and ambiance, there is seating outdoors and upstairs too.

Food was delicious! Hand cut fries. Crisp fried fish. Wonderful service. Menu selection was good. Parking was decent

Been coming here for 60+ years it's a must stop for the family or even if you're by yourself best fish and chips around the Pacific Northwest never disappointing And an incredible view of Puget sound

I stopped by Spud Fish & Chips on a sunny afternoon at Alki Beach and couldn't have asked for a better setting. I grabbed a seat outside, and the warm ocean breeze. I went to the counter to order and staff was very friendly. I ordered the Halibut fish and chips, and it hit the spot. The halibut was fresh, lightly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside--no heavy breading or greasy aftertaste. The fries were golden and satisfying. It's a classic seaside meal with a nostalgic, no-frills charm. Perfect for anyone looking to enjoy simple, well-made fish and chips while soaking in the view of the Puget Sound.

Recommend to try this local oldest seafood spot in Seattle and it was delicious! It's a no frills place with seating inside, upstairs and outside. Food was solid! We shared the clam chowder and a fish and chips. Both were yummy. I really liked the crispy-ness of the fish. Service was kind and the lady behind the counter was great with explaining anything we had questions about.

Delicious

Beautiful spot for fish and chips in West Seattle. It has the taste of a hearty cornmeal batter with a little crunch. There are a variety of different ways to order to get exactly what you want. Fabulous garlic vinegar and delicious tartar sauce.

We sampled widely from the menu, and walked away satisfied with the meal. Favorites included the white chowder (accompanied by the garlic foccacia bread to dip), fried calamari, and fried shrimp. The salmon "burger" was solid too, with two generous slabs of clearly fresh fish. Also worth a shoutout is the service, which made us feel welcome and relaxed even during world cup traffic. What was a little bit of a letdown? This may be surprising based on the restaurant's name, but the fried fish...and the chips/fries. Neither were *bad*, but I would've liked both to be crispier. The fries were also a bit oily for my taste. Overall if you're looking for a tasty seafood meal in a beautiful location, Mr. Fish won't let you down. One of my favorite fish and chips for consistency, convenience, and availability around town. Better fish and chips may exist, but none are as accessible as Ivar's with many locations. What's interesting here is that they have a line for ordering and then a line to pay, but it's clearly labelled. Cod is juicy, fried lightly, and heavenly when paired with their delicious tartar sauce. Chips are soft with a light crunch and also heavenly when paired with the tartar. They have a covered shelter to dine inside but the entire waterfront is nifty to eat around. Restroom (washroom, bathroom search terms) available next door in Ivar's Acre of Clams. Our incredible server Trey soon came over and helped us decide on some drinks, as we were debating between a few. The menu has so many options, it was hard to just choose one! We soon put our appetizer orders in, as well as our entrees. The calamari tasted fresh and crispy, what's not to like? The oysters I was recommended, tasted sooo fresh! The smoked salmon deviled egg was something I've never thought would work, but it tasted amazing. You can never go wrong with fish and chips, which tasted great! Our server was so sweet and was very attentive throughout the whole night. Dessert time came around and Trey recommended this Washington berry pie, we were sold! It came out deliciously warm with some ice cream on top, which was the cherry on top for our night!! Can't say enough great things about this restaurant, great staff, solid menu, we will definitely be back!!

Have to admit at being disappointed in my latest experience at Dukes…read more It was about three weeks ago, the last Sunday in May. Went with my husband and met some family for lunch. We got there first, as the rest of the family went to the wrong location. So my husband and I were just there drinking water and waiting for them for a while. -I asked our waiter to please. "keep the water coming". Anyway, everyone finally arrived and we got things ordered. The food arrived in a timely way. Unfortunately, I have to report that their prices have gone quite high. I know most restaurants have had to raise their prices, but considering the food, both my husband, and myself felt that their prices were prohibitive, and with that in mind, we probably will not be back for quite a while. My hubbs had their lobster mac & cheese, which he gave a 7 out of 10. I had their lobster roll, which frankly, I could only give a 5 out of 10. It wasn't very flavorful, and definitely needed the dipping sauces that were served with it. Rather awkwardly put together as well, which made it kind of messy. Just kind of hard to eat. I did really enjoy their sweet potato fries though. Everyone else had various seafood dishes, which looked good, and one had a burger, which looked absolutely delicious. (I was kind of jealous once I saw it.) The service was good to begin with, but we had to flag down the waiter for water more than once. And towards the end of the meal, I was having some of that dipping sauce with the last of my sandwich; it was on the spicy side and I was out of water. Tried several times to get the waiter's attention, but it didn't work, and I had to literally yell at him to bring me some water. It was a little embarrassing, but I really needed it, & I was getting kind of mad! I mean, after all, I had made a point early on of asking him to refill the water. So that really kind of pissed me off. Because neither myself nor my husband had ordered any other beverage, & we really needed that water something fierce!! So obviously, I have mixed feelings on Dukes at this point. If money is no object, I'd say sure, go here and enjoy something tasty. But make sure you order some beverages so you don't have to count on the waiters for water!!!

They're conveniently sandwiched between The Little Chicken Teriyaki and Big Mike's Sandwich Co., not too far from the doors leading to the restrooms. They serve seafood baskets, fish and chips, poutines and samplers on their menu, and you place your order on a kiosk at the front. Staff were ready to answer questions, and had a lot of good energy when serving orders to me and their other customers. I split with two others in my group the sampler, which consists of two pieces each of fried cod, oyster and shrimp, all on top of a bed of French fries. The tempura batter for all three came apart a little too easily, though it was even more so with the fried cod, as it was hard to use a spoon and fork to scoop up the easily broken pieces. Shrimp and oyster were both really good and not too salty on their own. French fries were also really filling, and were very fresh - they were on the verge of being too salty. Overall portion was relatively big and all three of us got full from splitting this.

I didn't order any fries, but the fries looked so delicious coming out of the fryer and the malt vinegar was on the counter to use with it. Everything was extremely fresh. I loved how they cracked the crab to make it easy for us to find and consume the delicious meat. It was a great experience, trying this Dungeness crab, the size of the crab makes for a decent meal but the meat is a little drier than what I was expecting. Paired this with a can of coke and we were happy customers!
