I was actually at the Carl's Jr. drive-through across the street. Location is near USC on Figurroa. I had a coworker bring in donuts, so I decided it was my turn service and donuts both five stars I called while I was still in the drive-through and asked for a dozen assorted donuts. I was so happy when I opened the box at work the donuts were beautiful and it was a nice assortment, not all the donuts they wanted to get rid of these donuts were fresh and several coworkers had more than one :-) my only regret is not signing up for their loyalty program Buy three get one free I think that's how it works signing up next time I go in. Love it person that took my phone order even put my name on the top of the box and had it ready right when I walked in. Female employee with blonde hair has an attitude and is being difficult for no reason. She cannot follow simple instructions that shouldn't be too hard, at least you would think. I'm not sure if she's just having a bad day but personal problems should not be taken to work. It's too early to deal with her bad attitude and it's highly suggested that this employee go through extensive re-training on what good customer service is supposed to look like because her behavior is unacceptable. read more

Back in the day Winchell's had the perfect taste profile so what I've noticed is even their recipe has changed. Spudnuts has apparently changed their recipe because like Winchell's they use to offer a great cinnamon crumb cake. The current varieties are sweeter and not the balanced cinnamon taste. Anyway, to start with you need to solid cake donut. Spudnuts has a nice cake donut. Their cinnamon crumb cake recipe is acceptable but still a tad too sweet. Spudnuts is located by USC on Figueroa. The plaza has a small parking lot so parking is quite limited during the day. They open early - 5 AM almost every day! It's a great place to pick up a dozen for the office! They have a good variety of donuts. The donuts here are not amazing but they are not terrible either. On a good day, the donuts are light and fluffy. On a not so good day, the donuts are dry and oily. The regular glazed and chocolate glazed ones are more consistent than the specialty ones. Hands down one of the best places around USC to fulfill your late night cravings. This place just gets it. Their Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant is a monstrosity. Just one is enough to make you full. It's so big that you can fit two whole sausage patties on it. Amazing! There is plenty of parking and they take credit cards, both of which are rare qualities and make Spudnuts my first choice for buying donuts for the office when I'm working in the area. During my morning rush, it's all about convenience, I tell you! The donuts are good. Not exceptional, but good. They are made of potato flour, hence the name, but I can't really tell the difference. I don't care what anyone says, this is my go-to for a quick fix of decent quality donuts. Okay, this is mostly because it's located close to me but also because it's still cheap. $1 per donut and they're always cranking out new donuts each time I visit. Of course, I always get chocolate glazed cause I'm unoriginal. They have cronuts, "premium/deluxe" donuts (like an oreos topping or whatever), and sometimes they'll have blueberry donuts (reminiscent of the famous blueberry donuts from m&m donuts in Anaheim). But the main focus is the accessibility and cheap prices for the donuts here; while customer service is average at best, they get the job done. Be respectful and be respected, no one should have to ruin their day over donuts. In addition to donuts, they serve breakfast sandwiches and drinks if you need something late at night and McDonalds isn't cutting it for you. Oh yes, Spudnuts is open late which is why I love this place; late night fix of doughnuts when sugar cravings are at its highest.
