The food is fresh, portions are generous, and service is quick. I like that every meal comes with your choice of soup or salad.

The only thing I would recommend here, is the pizza, which we order as takeout on occasion. My family and I have dined in on a few occasions and it's been disappointing each time. Our last visit was this past week with a party of 5 and everyone at the table was not happy with their meal. I had decided to give them another shot, but unfortunately got the same results. Have never dined here pre-covid but friends and I tried ordering takeout on a Saturday night. Some things were ok, other things were not. Mozzarella sticks were decent, calamari was ok, though could have been cooked a bit more. Their chicken bruschetta was tasteless and just looked sad. So I went here to meet up with a group of 12 for a birthday celebration and of course I arrived early and went to sit at the bar an order a drink while I waited. The bar was dirty and there were flies buzzing around. The two women that I sat near were complaint that the bartender had disappeared and they were waiting for their water the asked for over 10 minutes ago. I asked how their cosmos were and they just gave me a look of like "meh". I was a bartender so I could tell just from looking at them they were done poorly. Finally when the bartender showed up she only cleared the direct space in front of me and left dirty dishes pushed aside on the bar (gross). I ordered a Long Island iced tea and watched her make it, she used all bottom shelf Korkav brand liquors, no pour counts and then she left the bar and came back and handed me the drink, ( like where the hell did she go that she filled the rest of my drink out of sight?) well when she put it in front of me I knew it didn't look right but it tasted like lemonade. It's suppose to taste like iced tea not lemonade. The alcohol was like drinking acid. The women I sat next to could tell I was displeased as they were. I guzzled it, paid and then my group and I went to sit at our table. I ordered a sangria just to see if that would be better, mistake... tasted like juice, not good, so I stuck with coke. I ordered the chicken Alfredo which I could tel sat under the lights to long because it wasn't hot it was just warm, and the cheese was already starting to harden and wasn't as creamy. Flavor was ok. The staff was decent, not the greatest but not bad. Atmosphere needs an upgrade it looks like grandmas house inside with all the fake flowers everywhere. The bathroom needs to be kept better also. Holding solid at #3 in The Great Chicken Parm Caper! Spumoni's has been in Pawtucket for, like, ever. And it has been running the Lobstermania promotion for, like, ever. I think half of the economy in the Bucket is built on the success of this restaurant, as it seems to be recession-proof. The parking lot is full each evening and is packed to such capacity on weekends it becomes a hazard. I would know: I hit a parked car in the lot in my Buick Riviera when I was fifteen. Anyhoo. Spumoni's is a genius business because it offers just what its customers want, and (like many things in the Bucket) what they want has not changed in years: consistency, large portions, and great pricing. They have specials and deals galore, and are always running some sort of 'get a pile of food for mad cheap' promotion. I'm sure there have been tweaks to the menu here and there (for one, I know the salads were created because one of the managers is very health-conscious), but the menu has a fundamental core that has not budged their ingredients in twenty- or thirty-plus years. Is it good, though? Sure. It's just what you would expect for a hometown Italian joint run by a Greek family. Nothing mind-blowing, but if you find comfort in classic Italian food, you'll find them all here. The parmigiana is solid, the Milanese is very rich and potentially has crack in it because I crave it all the time, the pizza can hold its own against the other pizza in the neighborhood. I've also heard people rave about the Frutti del Mare and other seafood dishes. I like that they offer a combo platter that you can design yourself - so even when I was in there for the Great Chicken Parm Caper, I could get my Veal Milanese fix. I've been a big fan of Spumoni's for many years so of course it was on our restaurant list when we were back in town. Party of 6 on a Monday night at 5:00. We were seated right away and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We had a very personable and attentive server. He reviewed the specials, made a couple of recommendations and happily accommodated my Mom's request for a fried seafood platter, as opposed to broiled. We had an order of littlenecks for an appetizer and they were s fresh and cooked perfectly! Entrées were Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Combo Platter (Chicken Parmesan, Ravioli, Lasagna), Fried Seafood Platter, Eggplant Parmesan, Sausage & Peppers Parmesan, and Chicken Marsala. Everyone have their meals high praise. The prices are affordable and the servings are large. Spumoni's still knows how to do it right! Can't wait until our next visit. read more

My family & I come here a few times a year. Food is pretty good, but nothing show-stopping. The one thing I really love from here are the steamers...they are awesome. The seafood pasta in red sauce is pretty yummy too...but HUGE! Right now, kids eat free on Mondays...very appealing to this mom of 3 Also, join their email club for coupons. Well from the recent review, we decided to recently go back. I brought my sister and her boyfriend out for the night and we all bought baked stuffed lobsters. The stuffing was still phenomenal! I love it. However, the stuffing for the stuffed mushrooms was a bit bland compared to the lobster. The tollhouse dessert was also a big let down for us, I remember it used to be so moist and doughy but now it's just like a rock. I kept the 5 stars because I still love me my baked stuffed lobster. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch today. The decor was beautiful inside and everything was excellent. Stuffed mushroom appetizer was one of the best ever! All I've heard about since moving to Pawtucket. "Do you live by Spumoni's?" "Ohhh mama Spumoni's!" So, we give it a shot. We have 4 adults and 2 under 2 (my sister and brother in-law were in from out of town) and we were in Providence. I call on the way there and ask if I can put our name in or to see what the wait time is. I was greeted by a VERY rude hostess and was asked how many in my party. I state that i have 2 babies and 4 adults. To which she replied to with a laugh and a snarky "So, you have 6 people." Then stating the wait time was 20 minutes. I asked if we could put our name in, or if we have to physically be there (i'm not unreasonable, i know restuarants have policies). She says that we have to make a reservation. I ask when the next available reservation is for and she states 7 pm (it is now 6:30). I agree to 7 pm thinking that it will take us 10 minutes to get there and then a 20 minute wait time will equal out to about the same. I tell her i need 2 highchairs and she says, "why?" I again state that I have two children under 2 and she laughs and states that I told her I had 6 people in my party. (4 adults, 2 kids=6 people) So I figure they just had someone who wasn't good at being a hostess on the phones.. no big deal. I can deal with that. We get there and notice that no one is waiting for a table. We meet a very nice gentleman who says he will check on availability of our table. He asks who we can only assume is the manager, since she seems to be contributing nothing to the actual operation other than telling people what to do and complaining loudly in front of the guests, if our table can be ready before the 7 pm reservation. She says very loudly, "We're working on it, but they are early." Then a couple walks in, and they get seated right away. That's fine, much smaller party. Acceptable. Then a party of 4 walks in (we over heard they didn't have reservation) and they get seated right away. Okay, we have high chairs, maybe they need to accommodate that... maybe. The very nice gentleman then asks manager again if our table is almost ready and she laughs at him and tells him they are still working on it in a tone that says that she hasn't even checked, but he needs to stop asking. Which I commend him for fighting for us. My son (19 months) and his cousin (8 months) are not squirming and it is 7:05(for those of you doing math, we've been there for nearly 20 minutes and three parties have been seated before us). My husband is so frustrated that we decide to order take out just as they are finally able to seat us at 7:10. We say no thank you to the hostess who is attempting to seat us and we get an eye roll and a sigh. We order our take out and are told it will be ready in a 10 minutes. Since we live so close, my husband drives us all home and then goes back at 7:30 (just about 20 minutes after we placed our order). He is waiting for another 20 minutes and asks to speak to the manager. She tells him that "Food takes a while to cook." He gets the food at 7:45 and asks to speak to the manager again. He explains the entire story and asks if he can exchange a gift card we had received for Christmas because we were never coming there again (he had no expectation that they were actually going to do it, he was trying to make a point). She stated that she would refund the money for this meal. Let me be clear. We do not mind waiting 30-45 minutes for food, but the expectation was that it would be a 10 minutes. My husband is a very mild mannered man and he came back fuming about how rude and degrading the tone of the manager with the curly black hair was. We will never be going there again, and will gift the gift card to a food bank or charity. read more

Free salads at spumonis!! No. But that's basically what I was told when I called them after my Grubhub order was incorrect. Long story short: my meal came with a salad as a side option which was missing when delivered. I called the restaurant to let them know and figure something out. However, the male host told me there was a chance the driver snagged it (our order consisted of a couple entrees $20+) and when I wasn't amused, proceeded to tell me the salad was free as a side so he didn't see why it was a problem. Oh? So I guess that means I can drive to the restaurant and call for someone to bring me out a free salad, since it doesn't matter. No thanks. Poorly handled customer service with half-way decent food. Maybe you'll have a better experience in person.. and make sure to ask for a free salad when you're there. read more

I don't understand how this place is always packed. We started with the traditional calamari, and it literally had zero flavor (not kidding we couldnt taste anything). Then we each had different pasta dishes with marinara (or just mashed canned tomatoes bc thats what it looked and tasted like).. no flavor.. Our Chicken Parmigiana, now this is a dish McDonald's couldn't mess it up. Was extremely dry, tasteless, it was definitely pre made, frozen, OLD I had one bite...gross. Our Veal Parmigiana.. insulting to any red blooded Italian! A veal patty?? Really ? A little veal and the rest bread crumbs, disgusting! Our side salads were old and wilted with a rotten tomato in it. The pasta, one Penn the other spaghetti...al dente? Ha ha ha One bite over cooked, Mushy and just a little very bland tomato sauce that didn't even cover the pasta. Our Grilled Garlic bread wasn't grilled and was soggy! Our Onion Soup tasteless and cold, I think the mop bucket water would have tasted better! Our Steak ala Mama was over cooked dry, brunt and the butter sauce separated, disgusting! And the prices, you would think we would get high quality fresh food, ha ha ha WRONG! The only thing was good was the plain bread and the raspberry vinaigrette! Oh and the butter was rancid. The Chef and owners should be ashamed of this going out of the kitchen! The service is good but not outstanding . Our waitress disappeared at time and did not know an answer to a question about the drink specials. They also make you put the left overs in your take home trays. Very generous portions and decent prices. The liguinie and the sauce were excellent. After 8pm they have 50% off appitasers , so I tried the calamari which tasted very fresh . I also ordered the Italian pu pu platter. The sausage was dry and over cooked , the meatballs were small but tasty, they ravioli and manicotti stuffed with roccott cheese tasted homemade and fresh. The veal was tuff and chewy. If I were to go back again I would just have the liguinie and sauce. Also their Italian bread was sub par maybe 1 1/2 stars at best very disappointing for an Italian resturante. read more

Our family took my mother there for her 80th birthday. food was good, as well as our server. However, the next day i happened across the receipt and noticed we were overcharged $30 with items we did not have. When we brought this to the attention of the GM he said we waited too long the best he could do was give us GC. we spent $250, I wanted my own money back, not a GC. i got very upset, his response was that if i had been a mature adult and checked my tab before i signed, like other adults do, i wouldnt have this problem. he dubbed me miss foul mouth (i did get very upset as he kept fueling the fire). i said i was going to get my money back somehow, his response was Good luck! and suggested i never come back. alway thought part of GM position was to work with upset customer, not provoke more turmoil. the whole thing was very appalling. read more

Many people have visited Spumonis for dinner or their lunch buffet but nothing compares to their Easter brunch. I have attending this Easter Brunch for the last 4 years. Every year is just at good as the year previous. I must warn you, making reservations here for Easter brunch is a NIGHTMARE!!! Ugh, luckily I love this brunch as much as I do because otherwise the lack of accommodation and the rudeness of the management taking these reservations would totally turn me off!! I called the beginning of March to make our Easter reservations after 15 minutes of being on hold and being passed from employee to employee and then passed to management I was told they would not take my reservation for 4 people- I must have at least 5 people in my party. I called a week later and made a reservation for 5 people (even though we knew we would not have that many people.) Once we made the reservation the restaurant called 3-4 times to confirm our reservation, one of which was on Easter morning while we were sitting in Church. This would totally make sense if they were booked solid and packed on Easter morning, however in the last 4 years that I have been there it has never been this busy to excuse their lack of accommodation and nagging phone calls reconfirming the reservation 3-4 times!! Now onto the beautiful, delicious Easter Brunch!! The food was fabulous, and had a wonderful variety. From breakfast items, eggs, french toast, bacon, and sausage to Italian specialties chicken marsala, chicken parm, meatballs, and a variety of seafood dishes, as well as a carving station with ham and roast beef! I had my daughter's baby shower catered by Spumonis. They came and set up everything. They even brought plastic gloves so we would not have to serve everyone. The food was fantastic as well as plentiful. I would definitely use them again. read more

Without too many boring details, let me just say that my friend and I plan never to return to Spumoni's. The atmosphere was dark and dingy. It was difficult just reading the menu with the poor lighting. They were pushing the buffet the minute we walked through the door, but, after checking it out, we decided against it. It consisted of lots of Italian dishes with sauce, and one fish dish. Neither of us was in the mood for a sauce we had never tasted before. We ordered sandwiches. They were HUGE! They came with a pickle and French fries. They were too big to get a mouth around! I cut a small piece out of my chicken sandwich so I could eat it. My friend did likewise with her Italian sandwich. My sandwich was just awful. I couldn't eat it! They offered other dishes and took if off my bill. I can't describe the taste, but it wasn't just chicken. Maybe it had been marinating in something? I don't know. But, I couldn't eat it. After not eating, I went to the ladies room. It, too, was dingy. The soap dispenser had rust on it, the handle on the toilet looked broken, and the faucet handle had green rot under its top plate. Honestly the food was amazing. Delicious, great portions, nice atmosphere!! But the reason it gets 3 stars is the service. The waitress was so rude and disrespectful. It started when we ordered drinks, she carded my fiancé very rudely but did not card me, then she came back and took our order but didn't ask what our daughter wanted, had to call her back. She dropped off the food and never checked on us. Then just walked by quickly and dropped off the bill, which was wrong, we were charged wrong. After that it took 20 minutes for her to fix the bill and then said have a good night with such sass. It could have been a great experience if they hired people who wanted to be there. read more

Ordered takeout for my two children, wife, and myself. Didnt disappoint at all. I ordered the chicken and ravioli, chicken was cooked perfect, cheese on top brown, but not burnt. Chicken was tender, and thick. Definatley not some out of the freezer into the fryer deal you get from some mom and pop joints. Wife had eggplant parm, generous portion, and the breading held up to the sauce, without being too much. Anyone who has tried to make eggplant parm before knows of this dilemma. My son had an italian grinder with fries (Italian grinder is his go to). Took one bite and said wow. They use capicole, which makes a big difference. And a very generous fry portion. My youngest had the kid pasta, also super big portion. Staff that took my order on the phone was patient (my wife has some dietary restrictions) and the two young men who gave me the order were polite, and prompt with service. I also ordered a pizza for my son and I to split because I am far from picky AND I remember loving their pizza as a kid. When we got the food home about 15 minutes later, the food was ice cold. Suprised to see negative reviews . This place is an iconic Italian eatery with very good prices at lunch. There lunch shrimp scampi is a great deal and delishious for like $10 filling and comes with nice crusty italian bread.Also a big fan of there spagetti and sausage.Real good deal at lunch is there unlimited soup and salad for 8.99 tastes like homemade dressings on a perfectly chilled salad and there chowder is outstanding. I went to Spumoni's for a banquet event, and was not overly thrilled. It's a staple in Pawtucket, and is really a no frills average restaurant. The building smells a bit old, but there were tons of people inside happily enjoying their Friday night dinners with their family or hanging out at the bar. What shocked me was how they served dessert at the event. They made some sort of brookie/cake cookie things, but served them on a bed of lettuce. Yes, dessert on a weird bed of lettuce...... Aside from that, I found the staff to be kind, but nothing special. If I wanted italian food, I know of several other places in PVD or Cranston that I'd go to first. read more

We haven't been here for a while, there are many options in the area for Italian. Spumoni's is an old school type restaurant inside. We had a salad antipasto and an Italian Pu Pu platter. Both were pretty good. You could tell some things were frozen and reheated. Our server Kerrie was very good. I am sorry Spumoni's, you did nothing to separate yourself from Olive Garden down the street. My GF made a good point that actually Olive Garden edges you out with their breadsticks. Spumoni's does have nice combo meals with the tours of italy, however these dishes feature nothing spectacular (and doesn't Olive Garden also do a Tour of Italy?). They try to go on their own by offering seafood, however the prices are so astronomical for "fresh" seafood that you can't even enjoy it. Their calamari that was loaded with peppers was not too bad, although the calamari itself was pretty greasy (bad since it slides out of the breading if it is too greasy). Our waitress seemed a little out of it at times. And a huge pet peeve of mine that restaurants do is hand you a take out dish and make you spoon the dishes into it. I will give some waitstaff the benefit of the doubt if it is busy. However, we were having a bit of an early dinner and she had maybe 3-4 tables if that. No excuse to pull this move. Also, another move that sort of angered me is that you advertise fried clams outside. I did not see one item on the menu with fried clams or on special. *shakes head* Sorry Spumoni's you look decent from the outside. This restaurant has been around for as long as I can remember, but it never stood out as real Italian food. It comes across as a chain, nothing original and a basic, flat taste. I've driven by Spumoni's more times that I can count. It's never peaked my interest, simply because I don't associate Pawtucket/East Providence with Italian food. After attempting to try Bella Pasta for the first time (only to find their Sunday hours had changed) and seeing a nearly full parking lot ventured in craving a satisfying meal. Our server (Chris) was fan fantastic and attentive. Offered suggestions for my less than ordinary ordering style. Unfortunately that's about all the good I can say. The app sample platter came out a bit under temperature, and everything seemed like it was bulk produced, frozen product. Simple order on my end, "The Roma". Penne pasta with marinara and sausage links (3). It was a good portion, but the sauce, to me, was less than impressive. The sausage was decent, the pasta was a bit undercooked. I confiscated my sons meatball, but it too tasted like bagged meat. Also at the table, bland Caesar salad, equally plain Alfredo, stuffed shrimp that was better without the included butter, and delicious-but cold- bread. Nice, clean place. Good service.
