We have been a client of Edna's for the past 9 years. She first took our wedding photos at the Queen Mary in Long Beach in December 2008. 11 years ago i started following square eye photography and right when my husband and i were about to get married i was diagnosed with kidney failure so we had to postpone our wedding plans and instead decided to just go to vegas and get married there. We used Square Eye Photography for our wedding, and it was definitely one of the best choices we made! I fell in love with her style looking at her website. Two of my coworkers had already used her for their weddings, and highly recommended her! I worked for a photographer in high school, I'm in no means a photography expert, but I can definitely tell good from bad, lighting, focus not to mention originality and creativity! A lot of the other photographers who's pages I looked at were lacking in these areas. It's taken me almost a year to write this review because I want to take you through the details so you really know what you are getting when you work with SquareEye Photography. My husband and I met with her at her home and were immediately struck by the attention to detail in her interior decorating (trust me, you'll be impressed). She sat us down on her couch and projected a video with samples of her work from other engagements and weddings, which of course are beautiful and expertly photoshopped to bring out the beauty in the couples and the venues. The thing that really caught my attention was that she was tapping her feet and grooving with the flow of the background music. Call it silly, but I took her demeanor to be very indicative of the personality we would be working with. She is fun and lively, and brightens the room just by being herself. I knew right then that this was not a woman who was going to cause me stress (spoiler: I was right!) and would be open to working with any "demands" I might have. After the video, she showed us different photography packages that were available and how some of photos had been added to albums or put to canvas. From this we opted to receive one Engagement collage, a wedding album for our home and 2 smaller albums, to be given to each mother after the wedding. The Engagement Shoot-On January 24th 2016 We decided to have our engagement shoot at one of Edna's suggestions, The Irvine Regional Park. This was our first time there, but Edna was very clear on where we would meet and we had no trouble finding her. As soon as we met up, Edna wasted no time hauling our butts up and down that park for the best photos. She staged us in positions that felt absolutely silly, but turned out being really fun and looked great in the photos. We changed on the go, once in a bathroom and once in some foliage (which I'm sure made for a funny sight). The only upset we had was a patch of stinging nettles that I laid in that instantly gave my arms and back a minor rash. This might seem like a bad thing, but actually it was a testament to how Edna handles challenge. She got her photos and kept pushing through like a champ and when it came time to see the photos in the online gallery, I could see her editing skill in covering up the rash. If it weren't for the fact that I lived through it, I wouldn't have been able to tell it had happened at all. Post Engagement shoot-Edna posted a handful of pictures on January 30th 2016 and by February 16th 2016, the rest of the series was available and edited. The Wedding Day- April 25th 2016 Edna and her team met us at The Carter Estate Winery in Temecula. The team set up their equipment and took photos of details like my dress, accessories and us getting ready. Once we were in full makeup, Edna had us get dressed and then had my MOH help me outside into the vineyard for photos. Unfortunately, as these things happen, my MOH slipped on a rock while carrying my dress and ended up falling down and splitting open the back of her dress. She was immediately shuttled inside so one of my bridesmaids could mend it and Edna's team immediately took her place. The transition was so smooth in what could have been a potentially big bump in our wedding day. After this set of photos it was time to drive the 20 minutes to the wedding venue "Wedgewood, The Orchard" in Menifee. Edna first took some photos of the groom and groomsmen before staging him so that we could have a first look. In real life, our bridal party witnessed our first look, but they were edited out in the photos so it looks very intimate and there is no trace that they have been removed. I didn't notice them during the ceremony, but I have the photos to prove they were there so I can only say that they got some great shots. After the ceremony, we were shuttled behind the venue to an open field of (what looked like) wheat; her team helped me haul my dress and then staged the both of us for photos. These are my favorite photos from the whole day, Edna tinted the sky, sucked in my fat and made the details pop! We laughed through the whole time and really had her to thank for it. Edna I hope you see this because you are a treasure. Post Wedding Service-On May 5th 2016 Edna posted a handful of photos from our wedding, which we immediately shared to our respective pages; These photos were edited and had the SquareEye Photography watermark. On May 9th 2016 I received an email from her saying that our photos were available online for us to view and that the next step was to select the ones we liked and then submit them online so that she could get to work touching up what needed fixin'. It took us about a month to actually sit down and pick the 60 images needed and after that it feels like no time at all before Edna was telling me I could pick up our albums. She is the MVP of our wedding day and far and away one of the best investments we ever made. You can stop looking, you've found your photographer. read more
