Loved our 1st visit to Square Peg! We got there around 3:00 Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Our server Avery was amazing! Friendly and efficient. We stated with fried mozzarella from the happy hour menu (Avery informed us smaller portion / cheaper pro). We got 2 freshly cooked sticks and they were amazing! Crispy abd soft fresh cheese inside. So good we thought about getting another order but our pizzas came out really fast which saved us! There's so many different kids of pizza. I'd call theirs Artisan Brick oven. It came out quickly and was served hot and perfectly cooked. She got pepperoni and I got ricotta and roasted red peppers. Both were excellent. The pepperoni was a tad spicy and small round pieces. Perfect. The ricotta was fresh in fact everything was. We both really liked the pizza - crust was perfect on the edges and thin so not filling. The place is cute avd happy hour specials great. Daily from 2-6 (I think) and Friday & Saturday night 8:30-11 they have $6 cheese & $8 pepperoni pizzas!! Great stop and we will be back soon!!

Finally was able to stop in and try Square Peg after hearing so many great reviews from word of mouth. WOW were we missing out! For our first visit we ordered 3 items off of their specials, in order of my favorite to least was the suncruiser bucket, wow hopefully this is a main item soon! Blueberry lemonade suncruiser, raspberry vodka, sprite and for $9 you can't beat it! Spicy potato puffs were so tasty and flavorful we could not stop eating them. I just wish there were more! Then in third place was the chicken parm pizza honestly was underwhelming. However the chicken bacon cacciatore was the all time best pizza we tried. This will be my go to for next time to go along with my suncruiser bucket and sweet potato puffs. We were the only people in the place but we also went on a Tuesday night. Our service was great, we were surprised at how fast our food came out considering they use a woodfired oven. Planning our next visit asap!

Good meatballs, good cheese, wet sauce This time around, I opted to try their lunch items to go. When I went to pick things up, noted some enhancements. They added sound proofing to above the bar and textured the walls a bit with exposed brick facades. So I do appreciate the attempts to improve the dine- in experience. The lunch special was 10 bucks for half a portion or a full small cheese pizza, so I got it all to try. The meatballs were not as great as the first time I got them, but still pretty good. Little dense, but a great pork flavor. The spaghetti was hollow, which is a unique twist I didn't see coming. The sauce they use for the spaghetti and meatballs and the pizza is the same, they just use less of it for the pizza. That sauce works well for the pasta. It does not work well for the pizza. It's too watery, which prevents the crust from cooking. I've typed this ad nauseum at this point. Which is really sad because the cheese is actually pretty good. The crust is good, the cheese is good, but they almost like clockwork mess up the cooking and it's very much the sauce that's to blame. They've corrected for most everything up to this point, they just got one last hurdle to clear. If you decide to dine here, avoid the tomato based pizzas and opt for a white pie or no sauce. You'll get a pretty good pie for the price. A little pricy but prepared well

The Square Peg was such a random little pizza spot in Vernon. Friday afternoon was not overly crowded so we were sat immediately. Parking was a bit of a hassle cause the spots were almost all taken. There are fried spaghetti sticks as the complimentary snack for the table, very odd but it was good! This is the large carnivore pizza. It was really good. Pizza did not take long to come out and our waitress was very attentive. She was very chatty and let us know about the place and she was just a nice person to have a convo with! The pizza was not as greasy as I thought considering the meat toppings were there. It was filling and pretty large (we did get the large lol). A bit pricey but the atmosphere and quality of food and service was worth the price here. I would love to go back!

Cute little chain with pretty good quality food. For a chain this restaurant is a nice step up with good food. Went here for trivia which was a lot of fun- modern questions and not too loud. We enjoyed some appetizers such as mozz sticks and had pizza. Overall really enjoyed and recommend

I have heard so much about square peg since they have come to Vernon almost a year ago! The perfect opportunity arose where I could get two cheese pizzas (small) for a very good price. I ate one fresh and the other I put in the refridgerator! I think having it fresh made the dough super thin and easily pulled apart (to the point that slices weren't slices but more so pulled out pieces of the pie). I actually preferred the refridgerated version because the slices didn't pull apart as easily! This to me tastes similar to a New Haven pizza and I absolutely LOVED the crust. Overall probably the best thin crust pie I have eaten outside of New Haven and pretty affordable at that. I will be back!

I was looking for a good brunch restaurant and Square Peg came up in my search - what a find. Lovely staff, convenient parking, great food, cocktails, and of course PIZZA. We had the greatest waitress! She was very sweet, kind, created conversations, and made me feel like a regular customer. She gave us recommendations and was very attentive. We ordered the Figgy Piggy (Fresh prosciutto, fig compote, fontina cheese, garlic, parmesan cheese & lemon vinaigrette arugula)! Oh Honey Pizza (Fresh prosciutto, honey, fontina cheese, figs, gorgonzola & parmesan cheese). Fried Dough (Delicious fried dough balls tossed in cinnamon sugar and dusted with powdered sugar; served with a side of Nutella.) The atmosphere is relaxing and the place is very clean. I will definitely go back to try all of their other pizzas!!!

    LARGE Carnivore

Last night was the second time we've ever eaten from this chain and the first time we ever ordered it for ourselves from this location. We got a Large Carnivore Pizza, small figgy piggy, a large cheese pizza and 12 wings. We were disheartened because the carnivore pizza barely had any other meat other than pepperoni and also included one mushroom and one piece of onion. I ordered ranch for our wings and pizza and received none in the bag. We were disappointed because the food from here isn't cheap but it definitely did not live up to the price point and expectation. We got 2 different wing flavors (Carolina gold mustard and Peg signature) and they were in the same container and the sauce and dry rub mixed together in the box. The Figgy Piggy and cheese pizza were fine. When you click "full menu" on the website it only shows the happy hour menu and when you click "happy hour menu" it still only shows the happy hour menu. Our pizzas were also burnt (more than what it should be even for wood fire pizza) I was pretty disappointed to say the least.

    Sexy and tasty wings!!
    Bill M.

If you haven't tried the wings at Square peg, you're seriously missing out on something sexy and tasty! These wings are so good, they'll make you blush. And the pizza? Let's just say it's the perfect partner in crime for those wings. Crunchy crust, savory toppings, and a flavor explosion in every bite. If you're looking for a meal that will romance your taste buds, look no further. Square Peg, knows how to bring the sexy and tasty to your plate!

    Buffalo chicken pizza
    Sho R.

I took out a buffalo chicken pizza for dinner. Online order said order will be ready in 60 minutes. But I had to wait for 45 minutes more to get my pizza. Pizza was very flavorful. Adding bits add celery to topping was a nice touch. But had very less chicken though.

    Bianco pizza! It was delicious!

We really enjoyed this place! They were super busy, but that's what to be expected when a business opens! Definitely not something they should be judged by since they have only been open for a week. We got take out for their sausage pizza and their chicken cacciatore pizza and both were excellent. We are so happy to have a place like this in Vernon! And hope people don't judge a place for service based off of the opening week!

    LARGE Chicken Bacon Cacciatore
    Nick L.

New Square Peg pizzeria in Vernon that took over the Little Marks BBQ location. Inside is very nicely redone including a generous sized bar, wide assortment of beer taps, with an even larger selection of cans beers. We ordered off the cocktail menu. White Sangria was very solid, Square Spritz is a standard Aperol Spritz with a nice addition of grapefruit, the Burbs was the best- sweet and delicious. We went to try out the very creative pizza menu. Let me say you can't go wrong. You will have a hard time deciding what to go with. My regret is I couldn't get them all and will definitely be back to try the others. We went with the chicken bacon cacciatore and the figgy piggy. Generous amounts of filings, cooked perfectly. We arrived hungry so the cheesy garlic bread held us over until our food came. Service was as attentive as you could have hoped for. A nice addition to the Vernon area.

It's a painting, an arts and craft, a bakery, and a coffee shop. Great place for friends to get together and spend quality time, with great refreshment. Opted for the blueberry pancake cold brew, along with a piece of banana bread and an egg sandwich with turkey. Food was delivered outside, and I took my pics. The breakfast sandwich is delightful. Everything is seasoned, punchy, and plentiful. The bread was grilled on a panini griddle, but didn't toast. So there wasn't a lot of contrast in textures. But the egg was fluffy, had a cheese skirt, garlic aoli is strong, and the bread is baked fresh. The cold brew was strong, but the cold foam on top mellowed the coffee out and gave it a nice blueberry and yeasty sip. Very similar to a blueberry pancake which the drink is named for. Good but leaned heavy on the cold foam. Banana bread was a bit gummy. Too much banana and not enough flour nor sugar. Not bad, but the weakest bite of them all. Price was high, at about 24 for the 3 items. The quality is worth the price point, and it's a great but somewhat limited breakfast spot for the area. If you want an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich with actual flavor, and wicked strong coffee, then this place does it well. Baked goods can be a bit random in quality, but the savory fare is great

Quality is still good, price and portion are askew…read more We came here as a quick sandwich bite on our way around the state. Service was good, and the ambiance is still lively. The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy

This made it pretty easy for us to review the menu and zero in on what we wanted, which was four items. Our server Anca was very pleasant and professional, and enhanced our entire consumer experience. We went with a small container of freshly made egg salad, a small container of grilled shrimp ($5), Meatballs with rice and vegetables ($13), and a frozen eggplant lasagna ($9). The egg salad was very good. Just egg and Light Hellman's Mayo and nothing else. It was a pretty much perfect batch, and a good convenient value at $5. The shelled "tail-on" grilled shrimp were five large nicely seasoned pieces that were delicious. We split the Asian Meatballs dish for dinner tonight. It was a big 19-ounce container with three Asian meatballs, rice, broccoli florets, and julienned carrots, squash, zucchini and scallions. A half portion was plentiful, the meatballs were excellent, and the sweet chili sauce added a zippy finishing touch. If the eggplant lasagna is half as good as the meatball dish, I'd be very happy. Some of the other intriguing listings we saw on their menu were Balsamic Shredded Beef, Turkey Cutlets with Fontina, Garlic Parmesan Flounder, Spanish Rice with Chicken & Shrimp, soups, salads, and desserts. Definitely worth your while to stop in and check out their grab and go goods.

Good burger, nice enough front end, slow service…read more I've been meaning to give this place a try. Mainly because it's close by and I've been intrigued by it. Always would swing by around the time it would be closed, so today I made a special trek to give this place a try. The place was quiet, a few people dining in. Took about a good 5 minutes to be seated, a single waitress manning the entire front of house. I didn't look at the menu beforehand, so I didn't know what to expect. As it turns out, it's a burger joint. Well, more accurately a bar with bar bites that just so happen to be burgers and wraps. I opted to go for their burger flight, but was informed they were out of chicken. so I swapped out the chicken for another burger patty. Also got some sweet potato waffle fries, because why not? Food took about 20 minutes to get, which is a long time to wait for appetizers. but the food came out eventually and I got my pictures and dug in. The negatives first - The waffle fries were cold on delivery. They were made in advance and lost all their heat by the time the burgers finished up. Flavor-wise, not bad. the honey mustard dipping sauce was appreciated. Need a little bit more spicy zip though, was a tad too sweet. I wasn't a fan of the cheese choice, was a little too waxy for my taste, could've not been warmed up enough, hard to tell. also the bottoms of the buns were lightly toasted but the tops were not and they were also cold to the touch. However, the rest of the meal was actually very good. The burgers were seasoned and hand ground beef. they had a lot of maple bacon pieces on them and the pretzel bun was soft and spongy with a little crisp on the inside. the pulled pork slider was pretty good as well. the combo of tender, sauce drenched pork with cool, creamy, and sweet slaw lead to a very solid bite. And that to me is the crux of the matter. They do good food but they cut corners. some corners are fine to cut, and they know how to prioritize what matters most in a dish. The slow service was a bummer, and if they executed just a little better then this would be a nice place to go to watch a game and get some bites. There were other gripes as well. Their happy hour menu doesn't match their main menu, and you can order those items even if it isn't happy hour at a more expensive price. Nowhere is that mentioned, and some of those items would be awesome to have normally. I mean, fresh cut and fried chips with buffalo chicken dip? Yes please! They do fresh chips, they can easily put together a nacho platter. They offer chicken tacos, but they could offer beef tacos. The burger flight should have fries, with the option to upgrade them to other sides or flavors. Fries are cheap, and I don't know many people that would turn down a well done disco fry if given the option. Granted, there's not many real "casual bar" areas in that stretch of town. But there is a brewery across the way, and I suspect that they are actually owned by the same cooks. so it's effectively competing against yourself, and that's not a great idea. For those looking for solid bar bites, this place will do well enough. They can be a tad slow, but the food is pretty good. It's a small casual bar to relax at, and the food's pretty decent
