We catered on site Dosa party. All our guests from young and adult enjoyed all variety of Dosas served. Karam dosa, podi dosa, Gongura karma Dosa...cheese, chocolate.... Everyone loved the food. Along with Dosas we had Pullihora, Medhu Vada along with yummy Peanut and coconut chutneys and Gulab Jamun. All the items were tasty & delicious The Dosa makers made super dosas. The service was superb. Our appreciations to the two gentlemen for preparing & serving the best. We are happy about them coming early, setting up and also packing up and cleaning up the area. First time I have eaten South Indian Cuisine and I don't know why I never tried it before!!??? I love love love love!!!! Great location, big restaurant, came here during work lunch hour and it gets crowded fast! I suggest to come early. This place has authentic South Indian food. The taste is very typical to those found in Chennai. The idlis are very soft unlike other places in the Bay Area. The family dosa is a very interesting concept and reminds me VGP Golden Beach next to Chennai. Kids section has a good variety too. Finish your food with the traditional filter coffee. I have been to this location twice now and I tried Rice, and Masala Potato on both the occasions. - The restaurant has decent interiors, plenty of seating space. I would rate the interiors a 3.5 on 5 - The food the first time was brilliant, a perfect 5. On the second instance, the Rice was cold. So, it was a 3 on 5 - The service is decent. Better than most American restaurants. American restaurants treat customer as a necessary Evil, and not as the source of revenue. So, service would get a 3.5 on 5 - The food is fairly priced. This place opens at 8:30 am on weekends. We went at 9:45 for breakfast The tawa (pan) for dosas was not ready and we were told (after being seated) that it was a 20 min wait for the pan to warm up. That's ridiculous for a South Indian breakfast place. We ordered idlis which were soggy.... Huh. In general severely understaffed with the same person running around for taking orders and manning the cash counter. My son had to go to the restroom and I was appalled by the squalor. Wonder why these places are even in business if they can't even cover the basics. read more

The attitude of the waiters speak a lot about this place. I and my wife ordered buttermilk to drink. Buttermilk is ordinarily prepared by adding ginger, curry leaves, a tad bit of spices. Now, I got what I ordered, but for my wife, these guys just gave water mixed with curd. We asked the manager about this nonsense, and when she went back to ask, we could see the laughter in the waiter's face. This is a typical south Indian restaurant with lots of dosa options. Also they provide combo options to mix different tiffin varieties.. Dosa, coffee n kalyana sapadu are the most favorite options in this place. And I have had the best madras coffee in this place. I would definitely recommend the coffee here. We went there on a Sunday afternoon. There restaurant was filled to capacity, but they didn't have adequate staff to handle the customers' orders. As a result, we waited a long time for our filter coffee, even when we had ordered it upfront, along with our main order. The food is decent, not everything is great. Their south Indian Thali is worth having. Try it with the puri, though. The puris are freshly fried, so you will get good soft ones, always. I didn't like personally like the sambhar, though. We ordered the South Indian thali and dosa. Food was decent especially dosa was good - I found the veggies in thali a little less spicey than average for my liking. We tried the samosa chaat from yelp check in (bhelpuri was over already and it was not even late). Chaat was alright not that great - there are better chaat places. Service was really bad. After a few hellos, excuse me's and waving, had to get up to get the thing (in this case extra dishes) or the person assigned to our table to order second round of bread. Even when we entered, there was no one to seat us nor was it mentioned clearly that it's a self seating policy. So finally had to grab someone coming out of kitchen to confirm whether it's sit anywhere. I would only recommend if you're in the area and need a change from your usual go-to place. read more

We ordered for paper masala roast and masala dosa recently and to our surprise, the dosa we received looked exactly same (Well, paper roast are always crispier and thinner, like a paper) The only difference was, - The way dosa was folded - For paper masala roast, masala was offered in a small bowl whereas for masala dosa , it was kept inside. I had masala dosa , mendu wada and poori bhaji. Dosa was more like a paper dosa n the masala didn't have any taste , it is not sufficient for one person . Cleanliness should surely be improved and I don't know know about the quality of the ingredients but it caused some stomach upset for a while for sure! We ordered take out here for lunch through yelp/grub hub . Food we delicious. But getting the food was a challenge since they keep saying restaurant did not accept the order and took a long time and a call to get confirmation. When we took delivery of the food, they messed up an order for chapathi combo and gave two curries we didn't order instead of the actual sides we ordered.
