We grabbed a nice lunch here. This spot is in a strip mall on El Camino. There was plenty of parking. The pakoras were super delicious and fresh, and not over-battered like some places. I liked the veggie curry we had. The banghan bharta wasn't quite as tasty as our local places, guessing most places use different recipes. Everything was fast and fresh. I probably should have ordered one of the thali combinations so I could have tried more things! They have a large menu.

Chaat House is my go-to spot for chai and chaats when I'm craving Indian food. The ambience is clean, no-frills and welcoming. Their dahi papdi chaat is wonderful and I really like their tea. My favorite entree is their kadai paneer paired with fresh rotis.

It was our first time there. The staff was helpful and patient guiding a family of four through the menu. The ambiance and food were great with the owner very hospitable and attentive making sure everything was to our satisfaction. There was an abundance and variety of food satisfying our family along with some leftovers so our teenage sons could eat again enjoying it later. We will be back looking forward in duplicating the experience with the family and friends.

Me and my girlfriend recently went to the wonderful Sat Baba temple in Sunnyvale. It was nearing dinnertime and we got a local recommendation for some pure veg Indian cuisine which led us here. Chaat House is awesome. Super humble. I love the down to Earth vibe here. The woman who helped me was Punjabi from the Punjab region of India where I have been. I went on a yatra to Amritsar and also went to Chandigarh. I am a longtime vegan and opted for a thali. I told my server that I wanted it vegan if possible for most of the thali has raita and kheer made with dairy. She was able to make me a delicious vegan thali sans dairy. I found the thali tasty, nourishing, and healthy. It came with chana masala, palak, two different kinds of lentils, a potato dish, rice, and roti that was piping hot made in house. My girlfriend wasn't that hungry so got two extra roti and she tried it. My beloved enjoyed the thali except for the palak aka spinach dish. She enjoyed everything else and especially the fresh as you can imagine roti. I loved it all even the palak dish. Many locals got take out here and a few dined in. We could see why. This hidden gem is a find and worth checking out. Arigato. We will be back next time we visit the Sai Baba temple in Sunnyvale!

Chaat House is one of my regular spots to hang out. The food is reliably good and closely matches the flavors I remember from India. The staff is friendly and the service is generally pleasant. While I usually visit for their chaat, their lunch and dinner options are also quite flavorful and worth trying. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you're craving authentic Indian street food.

Pretty standard and tasty vegetarian Indian place! Dropped by for a quick food stop and had hot paneer paratha and dahi sev puri. Would come back again if I'm in the area.. otherwise you could get this at most Indian restaurants in the Bay Area!

Picked up food again from here. Their food is awesome and authentic. Not doused with chilies like some other Indian restaurants. Once again a huge shoutout for the mooli(radish) paranthas. The saag-makkai ki roti ( mustard greens with corn flatbread) is delicious. 10/10 as always This time we also tried combo#1. Rice. Creamy black lentils with two sides - peas and potato + cottage cheese served with some yoghurt and kheer( milk and rice pudding) served with chaas( buttermilk spiced with mild spices). I drove 30 mins just to pick up the food and would go again and again.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. They have several options to choose from their menu. I decided to go with thali which comes with plenty of rice, several sides to choose from and you can either have chapati or roti. The restaurant serves the thali North Indian style which means there's no sambar and the food is more sour and not so spicy. The restaurant was packed when it arrived which means it is popular, but if you crave spicy thali this might not be the restaurant to visit. I ordered chapati but did not like it either. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center and parking might be a challenge.

Clear broth, comes with an assortment of vegan proteins, and it's been consistent every single time over the years. Best had in cold weather. The spicy noodle soup is solid too but it doesn't hit the same way. The SP4 gourmet deluxe is my other staple and I order it like an appetizer. The protein comes out fried with a crispy shell and soft inside. The sauce leans hard on lemongrass and citrus but it's savory throughout, not sweet. Haven't had anything like it anywhere else. Orange nuggets are chewy with a citrusy and sweet glaze. Good enough that I skip the actual appetizers for these. The Szechuan Pineapple is spicy, salty, and savory with chewy gluten and a citrus undertone running through it. Green papaya salad is strictly sour and tangy. Fresh, nothing heavy about it. Sweet potato curry is definitely underrated. Potato goes soft all the way through and the whole thing tastes hearty without being heavy. Basil eggplant tofu skews sweet and the eggplant goes silky and it's a family favorite. Eggplant claypot has the same idea but the sauce is better and it comes out in the claypot which makes it feel like a proper dish. Jalapeno BBQ seitan was a miss. The BBQ sauce tastes flat. Staff is friendly and food comes out fast.

I got their ja jang mien, and I really liked it--especially the thick, chewy noodles! My coworker got General Tso's, and we also got some veggie dumplings to share. The dumplings were a bit on the bland side, but otherwise good. Service was relatively quick. The interior is clean and well kept (I guess more than you'd think looking at the little strip it is part of), and the wait staff are friendly. The parking lot for the strip mall this is in is on the small side, though, and may be tough to find parking during the lunch rush if you don't arrive early (and I would highly suggest carpooling). Tasty and friendly, I need to remember to suggest this place for lunch more often over the closer places we tend to think of first! I will definitely be back!

I was running some errands nearby, so I decided to grab takeout. I went with General's Chicken and…read moreBlack Pepper Chicken Chow Mein. When I arrived, there were plenty of parking spots, and the restaurant was empty. The parking lot is a bit small, so I imagine it can be tricky to find a spot when it's busy. I can't say much about the ambiance or service because it was a quick in-and-out experience. When I got to my car, I immediately vented the General's Chicken container and left the plastic bag open because I wanted to make sure it was still crispy when I got home. Note to the restaurant: I really appreciate when restaurants cut holes in the corners of containers for crispy/fried foods to keep them from getting too soggy. Having some venting for the steam to escape really helps. General's Chicken was my go-to before I went vegan, so I was really excited to find a vegan version. When I ordered on DoorDash, the General's Chicken had three spice levels: Medium, Mild, and Spicy. I went with Spicy, but the sauce didn't taste spicy to me at all. It was also super gingery, which I'm not used to. The sauce wasn't bad, but it didn't remind me of the typical General Tso sauce I'm used to. That said, I did enjoy the crispy texture, broccoli, and bell peppers. I'd rate this a 3.5/5. Yelp AI mentioned that the Black Pepper Chicken was the highest-rated item, so I decided to try the Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein. At first bite, I was unsure of it, but as I kept eating, I enjoyed it more and more. I love that they include so many veggies, it really adds to the dish. I would give this a 4/5. Overall, I thought the food was good. I can definitely see myself ordering other items from here next time I get a craving for Chinese takeout.
