After so many years, their Thai food is still so authentic & fresh! We don't go to the Thai restaurants closer to us but travel further to Sri Siam! They were so busy during COVID that customers had to wait 45-60 mins for their orders. Delicious! read more

3.5 stars this is a BYOB place with a liquor wine store next door. The chicken satay is very good as is the Penang curry and the scallion dumplings and their sauces. This place is so freaking good. We just ordered tonight for the first time, everything was super fresh and jam packed with flavor. We had the papaya salad (no fish sauce), pineapple fried rice, massaman curry, pad kee mao, golden bags, the taro custard and a mango sticky rice. If I didn't pick up my phone to write this I'd keep eating and likely rupture my stomach from not being able to stop taking bites. Can't wait to order again. read more

Nice place, fantastic service. Byob and no corkage fee! I had jungle curry and was a little disappointed but it was due to my poor selection. I always like curry with coconut milk and Jungle Curry did not contain coconut milk. My boyfriend had Peppered beef and was happy with it. Make sure you specify medium hot or hot hot spiciness. My husband and young son have dined here multiple times as well as picked up and had food delivered. We love Thai food and have eaten at many establishments in Chicago. Sri Siam is top-notch and I highly recommend it. My favorite Thai meal is Pad See Ewe and Sri Siam's dish is terrific. Other places offer lifeless noodles or salty sauce: Sri Siam's is just perfect. My husband has enjoyed their curry dishes and the Holy Basil Chicken, which is now his favorite. We have also ordered their soups, which are plentiful and flavorful. Also the fried rices are much better than any standard fried rice. The BBQ Pork Fried rice is what we like to get for our son. With delivery and carry-out orders of $15 or more they give a choice of free appetizer. We have eaten their potstickers (our son's favorite) and their crab rangoon, which I normally don't care for, but I enjoyed theirs. Special dishes: the Curry Puff appetizer is out of this world. We get it every time. Also the Fried Banana dessert (!!) melts in your mouth. Definitely check this place out. I lived in this area for over 2 decades before moving out. So when I come back to the old hood, I make stops at local eateries that I grew up and loved. This was not one of those places. I drove by here for years and never went in. The other day, when Burt's wasn't open yet, didn't want to wait for Pequods, and was resisting with all my might the deliciousness of The Works, I made the mistake i avoided my entire life. The lunch special. Tofu pad see ewe. I told the wonderful waitress to get me whatever appetizer she thought was the best.... ok so let's start with the soup. I was expecting at the very least a cheap egg drop soup. Unfortunately I got cheaper than expected. It was literally a bowl of water with a scrambled egg white in there. I had ask for salt and hot chili sauce to give it by flavor. Oh, this was the time I saw the "no credit card under $10" sign so I jumped on the yelp and the first thing to catch my eye was a review of the chicken satay. So I ordered that as well. Ok anyways, she brought out the surprise appetizer which was the crab rangoons. 2 nickel size pieces of perfectly shaped dumplings. And man, I mean perfect. Both were identical in every fold, dimple, seal, divet, etc... now I could be wrong but they seemed to be off of a factory line. Now they were actually pretty good. Probably why I'm raising this review one star as you are reading this. As for the tofu. Holy crap this tasted like holy crap. The tofu itself tasted like soapy dirty water. In fact some pieces tasted like they were dipped in lemon juice or pine sol. The noodles looked like bowel movements. Overall it smelled funky. Really really funky. But hey, I'm alive a few days later. So I guess the seconds star is justified..... oh and I forgot about the chicken satay. Flavorless. The sauce. Gelatinous. Gross. I left here and I drove to Popeyes down the block and ordered 1 biscuit to cleanse my pallet. That bad. I don't understand the amazing reviews. I was highly disappointed. We ventured to this restaurant based upon my partner's endorsement and earlier visit with a friend who touted this as her favorite Thai place. Can anyone blame me for being skeptical? (No! Not a snob!) So our visit based upon such food hearsay started by turning into the small strip mall. A tiny restaurant with an 'open' sign. Still skeptical, I walked in with three others. . . . . . . We've made two trips so far. The most recent was a Friday evening. This last time with just my partner (whose touting is proving valuable) and me. Bottom line: This place is a small jewel of good Thai food. I had a memorable green curry with chicken. It's fun to have the smiling waitress sorting through the order to make sure of what's asked for. My partner went for 'very mild' and it was explained 'he likes spicy'. The green curry was pleasantly spiced and the combination of ingredients all seemed lively. The spice was just as I had hoped it would be. No doubt to make sure of consistency, my partner ordered pad woonsen (chicken). She liked it the first (I guess the second time if we count with her friend) and this second time. I had the Crab Rangoon appetizer. It was good, but more dough to cheese than I'd like. I should also add that Mr. Spice It Up (I've been to Thailand) was with us on our first visit. It was all right. It wasn't my first choice, but I ended up with Sri Siam because my top two Thai options were not on Grubhub, and I happened to have a discount code. Although the delivery was very fast and the driver extremely courteous, I wouldn't bother again because the food was not that good. It was really just bland. Out of three dishes, the basil fried rice was the best, but, even there, most of the flavor was frying oil and heat. It could use a lot more vegetables too. Most disappointingly, the pad thai was really boring. As I was perusing the menu, I noticed an intriguing stuffed calamari appetizer which might tempt me to try them one more time. Not spicy at all?) - Spicy seafood combination (It wasn't good as picture. Hehehe) - Bubble tea (Tapioca too hard) Lots of good dishes! Although in some dishes, green beans and carrots were often too hard. Service is ok. Interior is ok. Most of the time it's clean. They open lunch through dinner. The new management has done a nice change with the incandescent lights - no more fluorescents! Service was nice but they forgot to bring utensils a few times. Food was as good as before - mildly spicy tom kha kai, basil chicken with ground meat had a hit if spice at the end of each bite, crispy fried shrimp dumplings - (although they were triangle shaped and flat) and the very delicious shrimp in clay pot which we highly recommend. read more

Located in a small strip mall I would not have ventured here except for some good YELP reviews. I had actually avoided the place for many years thinking it was just another dive, but am pleasantly surprised. The summer rolls are really fresh and tasty and made to order. I tried their Pad Prik King and was not impressed with the vegetable selection so will likely try another dish next time. The Pad See Ewe was good and their curry dishes are done well. Great Thai food! Plan to wait to pick up I you order during the peak hour when everyone is hungry. I suggest ordering from them earlier or later! Dining in was great with about six tables, so they are limited to seating. Lots of people tend to order pick up often during the peak hours. It was one of the best chicken satays I have EVER had, and being a Thai food fanatic, I mean this when I say it!! The amount of peanut sauce they give is not enough enough for the chicken though, so next time I'll definitely ask for more! Fried Wontons- 8, super hot, decent sized, sizzling triangles of heaven. And for only $4.95!! It was amazing. The sweet and spicy sauce was a perfect pair too! Cucumber salad- ridiculously mediocre, but fine on the side. Panang Curry Noodles- YUM YUM YUM. It was the perfect amount of curry with noodles and chicken. It was super tasty, and the only problem was that they still garnished it and added some things to it that I specifically asked them not to. Buy no big deal, they whipped up a new plate for me and it was totally worth the wait!! Thai Tea- I ordered 2. I litealy finished my first one before I even got my food. Then I paced myself because 3 read for one me would just be crazy! Mango and Sticky Rice- I was truly, thoroughly disappointed with their mango and Sticky rice. It was sweet mango (YUM) WITH rice that was literally salty. It was disgusting. We ended up moving most of the coconut milk they poured on top to just eat the rice on bottom with the mangoes, and then we just ended up eating the mangoes. So that was truly a disappointment. That is the only reason I could not give this gem of a place 5 stars! Go for the food, and get dessert elsewhere. It is totally worth it, I swear!!!! read more

While in the Chicago area (Morton Grove) we wanted to have Thai food. We went to Sri Siam Because of the great yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. My wife and I shared the Pad Thai with tofu, and a dish called Rama which was broccoli and other vegetables with peanut sauce. The soup that day was Tom Yum which was good and I chose the 2 mini veggie rolls which were also good. The Pad Thai was a decent amount with a fair amount of chicken and hit the spot for lunch. Service tends to be friendlier here at SriSiam. I always order the pad se ewe and pad thai, two of my favorite dishes. On our last visit we decided to try their panang curry as well. I stopped in Sri Siam for lunch & I'll definitely stop in again! The restaurant is located in a strip mall and the decor was simple. A few booths (with cute, colorful cushions on the wooden benches) lined the windows & small tables were scattered around the rest of the restaurant. The restaurant was not very busy and the manager (also the server) was very friendly and chatty (I was eating alone). The lunch menu was inexpensive, only $6.45 for an entree, soup, and egg roll. The egg roll was good - crisp & not too greasy. I didn't finish my soup, seeing as it was 90 degrees today and I wasn't confident that it wasn't chicken broth (I'm vegetarian). I ordered the basil dish with vegetables and tofu - delicious! Nice colors with red & green peppers, filled with basil and tofu, served in a great sauce. It was a little on the spicy side for me, I'll definitely order it mild next time. A nice sized order, I brought the leftovers home - yesss, a late-night snack! BOTTOM LINE: Good value & a very nice manager make this a great spot to stop for lunch or dinner. read more

You know how they say don't judge a restaurant on how it looks? (no?) Well..dont. This place is very tasty. I got the BBQ pork fried rice and it was very tasty. But one downside was that it was way too oily. When I got to the bottom, there was a layer of oil sitting there. Not a huge deal though. They didn't skimp out on the bbq pork, which I was very happy about. My friend got the pad thai and it was pretty mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it. Very dry. Other than that, it was very good. I am really not sure why so many reviews have dubbed this the best Thai food in Morton Grove. I was hoping this place would be a hidden gem since I have found so many others in the surrounding area. The menu was awesome and I had trouble deciding what to get. But I ended up being disappointed. The food that we received at our hotel was bland, greasy, and mediocre. We both got appetizers- we chose chive dumplings and eggrolls. For our entrees, I got pineapple fried rice and my friend got the Mongolian beef. The food was edible, but not good. Everything but my friend's entree was extremely greasy. My eggrolls were also slightly soggy and lukewarm when I received them. The chive dumplings were extremely greasy as well. I took a bite of one and could not finish it. The portion of my fried rice was pretty large, but I just didn't like it. I ate about 1/4 of it and called it quits. It had hot cucumber in it as well as a lemon slice. Both of those things being in my fried rice kind of puzzled me. The main reason I am only giving one star to this restaurant is because, while my friend and I are staying at the Best Western (which is literally not even two minutes down the road), it took OVER an hour to be delivered. When it finally got here, we realized they had forgotten our beverages. That is absolutely ridiculous for the price we paid and how long we had to wait for our food to arrive. Not only that, but the delivery driver suggested that we drive over and pick the beverages up since the restaurant is only two minutes down the road. That sort of defeats the purpose of delivery, don't you think? As a customer, why would I want to go and pick up something a delivery driver forgot when I already paid for delivery? We paid around $40 plus a 15% tip and the only good thing to come out of our order was the Thai iced tea. My friend said she really enjoyed it, but I don't think we will ever visit again. read more

UPDATED: This place has changed ownership and it's not as good as it used to be. I recently tried Sri Siam on 1/3/09 for the first time. Based on the past reviews I didn't know what to expect. I've been to the other local Thai restaurants and was looking for something different. It is small and cute with an all wood interior. The service was good but the food was awesome! I tried the Spicy Ground Chicken with Basil, Green Chicken Curry and Shrimp Fried Rice. Wow! What flavor!! I generally use Basil Chicken and the curries as a benchmark and they both received high ratings IMHO. I also like to try Thai Iced Coffee and it was very good. Just like Thailand. I spoke with the waitress to learn more about their business. She told me that they just changed management and that was their first day open. I gave them five stars considering it was their first day open, the place looked like it was run well and the food was on spot! Next time I go back I'll be trying their noodles. Alan and Marissa's reviews appear to have been similar experiences to mine. Sue didn't say what she didn't like about the food. That made me curious to check her other reviews. She gave Rosded Too 5 stars. When I asked other people about Rosded, they told me it's not as good as the original Rosded in the city. So this leads me to believe that Sue is either a friend, an employee or the owner of Rosded. If you are looking for fresh Thai food with superb flavor, try Sri Siam and see for yourself. After so many positive Yelp reviews, it seemed like the place to go for dinner while staying at the hotel down the street. Like nearly every delicious asian restaurant I've ever discovered, it's not much to look at, but is quite cozy. The lady who waited on us was quite charming and kind. Most importantly, just like other Yelpers have said, the food was delicious. Ordered the Sri Siam Seafood Green Curry, easily the best curry I've ever had. Took a taste of a friend's Pad Thai, which was also quite good. Now, I've never had Thai food in Thailand, but I get the sense that this food was prepared in a very traditional sense. It had this extra edge of flavor and love put into the making. Prices were quite reasonable, too, with dinner entrees between 8$ and 10$. read more
