Good choice for Thai food in Williston Park! It was pretty busy on a Saturday night, and we were seated in a little separate path off to the side, which is more private but more narrow and not very appealing to look at. We ordered the curry puffs which were okay, they came out piping hot which led my boyfriend to believe they were microwaved. I think they may have been too, but the taste was average, the dipping sauce however was spicy, light, and tangy which was great. I ordered the vegetarian green papaya salad and he ordered the chicken and squid pad see ew. Mine was way spicier than I imagined but it was quite filling and unique, came with peanuts and a spicy dressing that burned my mouth haha. His chicken and squid were well cooked, but his noodles lacked an adequate amount of sauce, definitely needed more to make it flavorful. The portion was huge though, and my abundance of sauce was shared lol. Service was friendly and checked up on us often until we were ready to order from the huge menu. Unlike the Woodside location, this LI branch is missing the homey, neighborhood touch. It's different but not in a bad way. The atmosphere is classy with matching tablecloths, chairs, and walls. They even protect their tablecloths with paper over it, something that I only see at more high end restaurants. But don't let the interior fool you because their food is not pricey at all. Their menu was mind blowing. Like the Woodside Sripraphai, it was very extensive with a lot of options. Basically something for everyone. For the table, we got the combination platter and calamari. I didn't like everything from the platter set but it was a good way to try a little bit of everything. The Thai Buffalo Wings sounded delicious, looked alright, but tasted meh. It was soo dry and not juicy at all. I'm not a fan of the crab & chicken wontons. I really liked the thing that looked like a shui mai. The egg and shrimp rolls were ok nothing special. Didn't try the fried tofu. The platter also came with three different dipping sauces. The calamari was good, very crunchy and the dipping sauce was the sweet and tangy one. By the time we finished the appetizers, the 6 of us were already kind of full. I know, weaksauces. But I still managed to finish my Curry Rice Noodles, which was finger lickin good. I saw a kid from the table next to us eating it and she made it look so delicious so I decided to try it even though I'm not a fan of curry soup base noodles. The curry is the kind that has coconut milk in it, which is my least favorite type of curry but it was still bomb! My boyfriend ordered the Pad See Ew, our favorite Thai dish but it wasn't as good as the one we had at the Woodside location. This one was a lot more oily and the veggies kinda tasted like gas. Everyone else seemed to like their food and most of us managed to finish our entrees. The Thai milk tea was also pretty yummy. Not too sweet and the tea flavor wasn't too strong. It seemed like a very family friendly restaurant, lots of kids. When the table next to us left, an old lady from the table behind us said, "Finally, they left." I don't see what the problem was since the group seemed pretty quiet and the kid was very well behaved. Then halfway through our meal, the lady complained to her friends that, "this group is so loud." We were connected by the same bench so maybe we were a bit too loud for her but honestly, the whole restaurant was talking not just us. It wasn't one of those places where if a fork dropped, everyone would hear it. So after she complained to her friends a few more times, I loudly told my friend that if the old lady wanted to go somewhere quiet, she shouldn't have chosen to eat here as there were tons of children here. I absolutely love SriPraPhai! The staff are always courteous and attentive. The place has a nice atmosphere. Seating is pretty fair and they have a bar area as well. I've ordered takeout before as well. They're fast, prompt, and always on time. No issues whatsoever! My go to meal is the Drunken Noodles with minced beef! Sometimes shredded beef. It's my favorite! Accompanied with shrimp and normal spring rolls, Tom Yum Shrimp soup and a nice, cold Thai tea and I'm in heaven! I've tried other things on the menu as well, and I have to say, they do have some obscure options. However, being the foodie I am, I'll definitely go back in one day and try one of those dishes. Parking is sometimes slightly difficult depending on what time of day you go. Normally, you'll be able to park on the side street of the restaurant. There's a very small parking lot on one side of the restaurant and I'm pretty sure you can use that! To my knowledge. Overall, staff is nice, and food is always delicious. Never had a disappointing experience yet! Ordered take out and more pictures attached of that! Packaged nicely, and they told me 15 min on the phone. It was the closest I've come to feeling like a poisoned king. I had ate my Chinese broccoli, the entire bowl, and as more food left the plate...I saw it...6 legs...a head like a juggernaut...a cockroach the size of a 9v battery. It's brown, dead carcass swam in the undergrowth of my dinner. (Hey I warned you not to read this.) I felt poisoned. My friend turned gray. Holding back my dinner, I flag the waitress. She shrugged and gave a smug look and said, please read this aloud, "There are bugs in organic food." A moment later she slapped the check on the table. Nothing was taken off the bill. The fear of knowing you've ingested tainted food. Food with the most revolting insects living inside it, spawning their eggs in the kitchen, knowing that you're going to be vomiting soon is truly horrific. An aside, imagine what the kitchen looks like, imagine it at night with the lights off! I still don't know what's worse. Eating a cockroach. Really surprised by the low ratings for this restaurant. This restaurant is pretty legit for Long Island. Definitely run by actual Thai people and the cuisine is fairly authentic. I love the extensive menu and that they offer boat noodles during the day though I wish one could order it off their menu after 5 pm. Highly recommend the sour and spicy and the pork noodle soup. I've tried to be fair. Been here twice. Once 5 years ago and recently this past Sunday. It was bad both times. I can't remember why the first time, suffice it to say the food was very bad. This time however, it's all fresh in my mind. It was bad food and poor service. First. The food was memorable in a bad way. Curry puffs didn't have much of a pastry puff. The sweet chili sauce was also more sweet sugar with cucumbers than anything else. The pad see ew was also mainly sugar noodles. The massaman curry, although the chicken was very tender, was very big chunks of chicken breast the size of a baby's fist. While the curry itself was decent. However it didn't come with rice! I've never had Thai curry not come with rice. Which brings us to our next point. Even if the curry didn't come with rice. The server, although nice, Never mentions this until the food was served and I had to ask for the rice. I was only told then that it doesn't come with rice. To top off the evening, when we ordered the sticky mango rice, we were told that the rest was out of mangos for the year. OMG! how hard is it to get mangos! In the middle of summer?? I was passing by this area and found this place in google search for Thai Food. I think place is pretty clean with average ambiance. service and attitude of the staff was average. We ordered couple appetizers and 3 three main course items for lunch. Quality of the food was fair but the quantity was small. We ordered Par Thai, Green Curry mix vegetables, Drunken noodles in the main course and spring rolls for appetizers. Green curry with mix veg was a flop. It was not green but besides that it was stuffed with cheap veggies and was missing baby corns, broccoli,asparagus etc. taste was mediocre and quantity was smaller. Drunken noodle was little better but again missed the authentic taste. Pad Thai surprisingly was the best of the three but was the smallest quantity. Everything was priced well. Take out | Dinner | $30-50 I ordered take out at this restaurant and it was the worst quality of service and food ever! The amount of money charged for our order was a joke and complete waste of my hard earned money! When I called to ask the gentleman who took our order if the food was ready when we arrived at the restaurant, he demanded that I need to pay first which was a red flag. I refused to do that and asked him to call me when the order was ready. When I went in the restaurant to pick up the food, the young skinny Oriental Thai waitress at the front was not welcoming, had no customer service skills, did not smile, and looked like she was mad with the world! I had to ask her for forks and napkins when that should have been automatically provided in the first place. She only gave 2 cheap small forks and 2 napkins like she was doing me such a huge favor to do so. Then I had to ask her for my credit card receipt which should have also been automatically provided to me as well. As per the food, the white sticky rice that came with the sweet and sour trout fish was wrapped in a small piece of plastic instead of being packaged in a proper food container! Even fast food restaurants package food properly and provide utensils with napkins! The shrimp fried rice only had a few pieces of shrimp in it. The iced Thai bubble tea was very small for the price charged! I called the restaurant right away and notified the gentleman who took our order of these discrepancies and all he barely said was sorry. This is completely unacceptable and a huge disappointment! They should be ashamed of themselves! Don't these people realize they are conducting a restaurant business in America but they want to be rich overnight by being a ripoff?? We told this gentleman to step it up and never provide the type of service he provided to us to other customers in the future! Crispy pork belly-a little spicy, but very good. The pork is crispy. Goes well with the coconut rice. Sticky rice was not very soft, but somewhat sticky. Not the most amazing Thai restaurant that I've been to, but you certainly get the most for your money. Most of the typical Thai dishes (curries, Pad see ew, drunken noodle, pad Thai) are well below $15/each (~$11) which is pretty nice. The portions are also really good for the price too. There are two levels of spicy that I was offered for my dish of drunken noodles: mild spicy or medium spicy. I guess spicy spicy wasn't an option? I chose medium spicy because I can't really handle SUPER spicy foods (note: I am of brown background so I've had my fair share of spicy foods) and I found the medium spicy to be a very good level to enjoy a kick of spicy without needing to drown in water. One of the things that really turned me off about my meal though is that I ordered the Thai milk iced tea with bubbles ($3.50). It's served in a super inconvenient wine glass which doesn't make sense at all to drink bubble tea with and the milk tea tasted spoiled. I was just put off by this entire drink that maybe I didn't enjoy my food as much. The service is fantastic though. The waiters give you so much time to order without bothering you, and my friends and I chatted for hours in the restaurant without being nudged to move. Granted, they weren't super busy for a Tuesday night dinner, but it was still nice to not be bothered. Another plus- they have their own private lot that can fit about 10-12 cars so you don't have to worry about finding parking in this area (which is still pretty easy to find but they're all private parking on the streets with time limits). read more

Here goes my review again: I called them the day after Christmas to make sure they're opened but they guy who answered the call gave me the attitude when I asked him if they are opened and was told since he answered this call, that's mean it is opened. I originally went to the Woodside location, and then began coming here when this location opened. I loved it then and love it now. I usually go on weekends during busy times. Food is fresh, delicious and doesn't take an unreasonable amount of time to come to the table. Our go to dishes are panang curry w chicken, drunken noodles w sliced beef, chicken satay, coconut rice, chicken curry puff, the salad w peanut dressing, and papaya salad. Thai iced tea is rich and creamy. Not sure about some of the negative reviews. I have never had any of those experiences over the years. read more

Highly disappointed. Came here for my mother's birthday dinner today and I thought it would've been a great experience but no. The service started out okay but definitely declined. My father ordered a Mai Tai that tasted like a fruit punch and when he told the server he didn't like it, his response was "that's how it's supposed to taste". The appetizer sampler was subpar -- nothing memorable and I wouldn't suggest it. I ordered the chicken pad see ew and it was horribly bland. It was dry and lacking sauce as well as any flavor. I asked for sauce from the server because I said that it was lacking flavor and his response was, "that's because the noodles soak up all the sauce-- it's supposed to be like that". So I still asked for the sauce and waited over 10 minutes as I watched him tend to other tables and keep walking past me. It got to the point where I felt disrespected and completely lost my appetite. I had to flag him back down to tell him I didn't want it anymore because he never brought the sauce. In a nutshell: Very good Thai spot that has branched off from original shop in Woodside, Queens. My family and I have been eating SriPraPhai since we were kids. We used to go to the restaurant in Woodside every time we came to visit New York. It was definitely a tradition, and it continues to be. That place used to be a little hole in the wall, and has since expanded and renovated to a quite trendy looking restaurant. A few years ago they opened this spot in Long Island, which is closer to us, so we've been coming here since. This time was different, though. Apparently, this restaurant is right next to the Fire Dept. A half hour into our meal these loud alarms went off.....four times!!! It was a little distracting at first, but when we found out about who their neighbors were, we gave them a pass. Parking 3/5 There is a small lot next to the restaurant, but there is plenty of street parking. Seating and Food Wait 3/5 If you bring a big group during peak hours, expect to wait. We arrived at 8:10 PM, were told 40 minutes, and sat down at 8:53. Pretty good with the seating prediction. We were served our first course at 9:15. Not bad. Service 3/5 The servers here are always nice, but I think they can be understaffed sometimes, and too few servers are responsible for too many tables/groups. Occasionally we had to wait a while for water. Ambience 4/5 Trendy-looking restaurant when you walk in. There is also a full service bar when you walk in. They have an extension of the restaurant by windows, and that place tends to get cold in the winter time. Food 5/5 Disclaimer: I didn't eat all this by myself....I swear...::sobs:: Here's what we got: Papaya Salad - A This can come in different spice levels. Today we got mild. This salad is very light, with tiny shrimps as well. Very tasty. The spicy version is also good. Tom Yum soup - A We usually get 1 large mild bowl, and 1 large extra spicy bowl (for me and a couple of my cousins). They are generous with the shrimp, and the broth is flavored with the right amount of bay leaves and lemon grass. I usually pick the lemon grass out....not sure if we're supposed to eat it. Chicken Satay - A The quintessential appetizer. Skewers of chicken with a tasty peanut sauce. The chicken is always tender and never dry. Beef Satay - A Similar to the chicken satay. Beef is also tender, and I've never come across chewy tendon or fat with these.....just pure beefy goodness. Soft Shell Crab - A++ This used to weird me out. I mean, it looks like a deep-fried crab. When I had it for the first time I was in heaven. The crab meat is so juicy!!!! I could've eaten an entire meal of their soft shell crab. Crab Meat Fried Rice - A- Standard fried rice with chunks/pieces of crab. Good times. Shrimp Drunken Noodle (Chicken) - A+ Similar to Rad-Na, but not as saucy. Flat, rice noodles with chili and basil. Chicken Panang (Extra Thai Spicy) - A- My favorite dish to order at any Thai restaurant is Panang Curry with Chicken. I ALWAYS ask for the spiciest they can give me. SriPraPhai does ok, but then they provide extra chili on the side to assist. Not my favorite Panang, but it was still very good. Beef Rad-Na - B My aunt likes this more than I do. Flat, rice noodles with chinese broccoli and lots of sauce. It tastes a lot better when you smother it in chili pepper and add a touch of their chili vinegar. Red Curry Beef - B- Eh. One of my cousins ate most of this. Not the best dish they have. Pan Fried Mussels - B+ The mussels themselves are very good, and the sauce it comes with is a good compliment. My gripe is that there was too much batter and not enough mussels. Fried Fish with Mango Sauce N/A Didn't try it because I'm highly allergic to fish. My family enjoyed it. Overall 4/5 The alarm was distracting, as it went off for the better part of our meal, but it wouldn't keep us from coming back. I am a fanatic for thai food and decided I had to give this place a try since so many people have told me about it and I've read the reviews. I came with two other people and I ordered a thai iced coffee with milk ($3) and the veggie drunken noodles ($10.95? Don't remember). The iced coffee was really good but had more ice than actual coffee in it. The drunken noodles did not hit the spot. I ordered them medium spicy but I didn't taste any spice and they were just not that flavorful. The food was just okay. That being said, I would recommend going to BKNY thai instead as I did have a more pleasurable experience there, as did my taste buds (see review). Won't be coming back here. read more

In search of Thai restaurants for lunch in the garden city/ Mineola area, my Yelp research led me here. As a Thai food enthusiast my palette is very refined and I admit to being overly picky. This trip was a bit underwhelming for me. This is a beautiful location on Hillside Ave. If they offered outdoor seating that would make this place really pop. The decor for me having frequented other fine Thai establishments was unimpressive. I took my mother to lunch her while she is visiting NY. I studied the $15.95 lunch special menu which features 1 appetizer (choice of spring roll, dumplings and salads), a Soup (Tom Ka, Shrimp Tom Ka, and Tom Yum Kai (coconut based) soup, 1 Entree, and lastly 1 beverage. The Dumplings were very good and probably the only item I really enjoyed. They were seasoned with fresh ginger and filled with chicken and pork. For entrees we ordered red curry chicken and shrimp pad thai. Unimpressive. I wished my curry was more rich in texture and featured more vegetables to have more substance. The chicken was dry. Having been here twice in the past two weeks, I think I've gotten a firm grasp on the williston park sripraphai scene. This is another solid 3.5 star establishment in my books. Quick pros: - It's green! Everywhere! I love green! - Inexpensive eats - Appropriate portion sizes - Chicken satay.. mm! - Food is consistent with the woodside location - Easier to get to than woodside. - Lychee & coconut ice cream - Rice! Coconut jasmine and sticky rice in the bamboo containers yum! Quick cons: - Watered down thai iced tea (The half/half vs tea ratio was overwhelming) - Inconsistent staff/service - Atrocious parking lot - Less takeout "goodies" than woodside - Weird menu layout - No mango and sticky rice (in the winter!) So, did I mention I love green? Yeah, everything is green here. It's adorable.. even if the walls are largely bare ( with a small exception of a few pieces of traditional thai artwork). It's about 40x easier to grab a quick meal here vs the woodside location. Unfortunately, the parking situation is consistent with the other location (it stinks) but wouldn't you rather drive down the NSP to the glen cove road exit than deal with the madness on the BQE? Their menu is like a picture book for thai food newbies. I don't remember the menu in woodside being quite like this. (?) It also peeves me that they don't give many of the names of the thai dishes. Like, lets say I want lard na.. I have to skim through all the descriptions of the food. On their menu, it would be something like "saute chicken with noodles and gravy sauce" or something obscure. I can see how this method is useful to those who are clueless to what their ordering, but don't the pictures solve that problem? Ahoy foodie part: To begin, the green curry here? Awesome! (yay green) It's the best I've ever had. Their massaman? Not so much. Perhaps I'm just used to the curry being lighter with more coconut milk. Not sure. Their curry is super thick and sort of bland. Now, their chicken satay and papaya salad are out of this world. I have yet to encounter a place that makes papaya salad as good as sripraphai. It's light, spicy and a little tangy. The flavors blend well together. The sauté crispy pork with chili, garlic & basil leaves was also full of flavor. I sampled it, and although swine is not my thing, I did happen to enjoy the little bit I had. There's so much to try here, so their selection stands out above all the thai places in the area! Admittedly, I'm slightly disappointed that their cute little "take home" section in woodside is disproportionally smaller in the williston park location. I have fond memories of bringing back all sorts of goodies like coconut milk/sticky rice/taro/bean concoctions, cassava, and other treats that didn't need to be refrigerated. This time when I walked over to the fridge I felt like I was intruding on the wait staff's space. Either way, the coconut/banana leaf treats were just as good as I remembered. Despite the strange array of pros and cons here, I'll be sneaking back here to try some whole fried fish, the soups and the "jungle" curry. Haha.. I have not been happy with Sripraphai in Woodside for years now. The food is not the problem, it is still very good, and lives up to any hype put on it. But since they expanded from a small sweets counter that also served food to a medium-sized restaurant and then again to a multi-roomed Thai food factory, the problem is with the experience. Far from Thailand, it is nothing like the "land of smiles." They hurry you in and out, friendliness is not part of the process. Since I first heard about their second location opening up in Williston Park, Long Island, I have wanted to give it a try to see if a better experience was waiting. Unfortunately, it isn't, but for different reasons. The staff is definitely more friendly, but still busy enough to not let a smile linger. The food is the biggest problem though, as the clientele is quite different out here. As with most of the city and western world, this translates to Thai food altered to western tastes. Certainly it is only a small degree of what you might find in the East Village or Columbus, Ohio, but they have to do what they have to do. I did like their inclusion on the menu of half (small) size soups, so that you could enjoy a bowl before the meal without filling up too much. The tom kha gai ($4.25) was the first indicator of the slightly watered-down food that was to come. It contained a couple hot red peppers, but these seemed more for decoration as their spicy interiors were already removed. The vegetable soup w/ ground pork, squid, and shrimp ($5) was a little bland, but as its name suggests, full of good items. Before our main course, we also ordered the fried bean curd with chili and peanut sauce ($5) which as expected was chili sauce with small pieces of peanut on top. The pad kee mao ($8.50) was the best dish of the night, well-spiced and getting some beads of sweat to gather on our foreheads. The dish is popular in all westernized Thai restaurants, but here holds more sway than normal. The flat noodles were nice and thick, and a bit chewy, perfect texture for the dish that is often found on the streets for late-night snacks. With a little time between courses to digest, I take a second look at the modern decor that could have been a warning. I would never go into a Thai restaurant designed with such minimalist tendencies in the city, but the Sripraphai name made it worth giving a chance, not to mention the long journey to get there. Since the sticky rice with mango was seasonal, we enjoyed the black sticky rice w/ taro and coconut milk ($3). This might have been my favorite thing of the night, so at least we left on a very high note, satisfied by our sweets. read more

This review is for take-out. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Shrimp Drunken Noodles. There were barely any vegetables and just 3 pieces of shrimp, the noodles were just covered in sauce to mask the lack of ingredients. I was really disappointed as I heard of high praises for their sister location in Queens. read more

Not as good as the Woodside location, but still a good choice if you're in the area. Service was fast. Food seems to be in smaller portions and more sauce to take up the space. More sauce and less meat, would just go drive to woodside.. read more

I've been going to the Woodside location for awhile and was so glad when this opened here since it's easier to get to. My Thai friend approves of this place because of it's authenticity. Don't come here looking for pad Thai (even though they have it). They've got stuff you won't find anywhere else, like khao soi. I'm a little disappointed they've Americanized some of their items. The pad Thai used to be made with dried shrimp and the sauce wasn't as sweet. Don't get me wrong, the food is still delicious, but they've tweaked some things to appeal to American palates. Definitely get the watercress salad. The watercress is so crispy and crunchy and soaks in all the flavors of the aromatic sauce. It's also great to go since they separate the sauce from the crunchy stuff. We also love the soft shell crab here. It always comes out perfect and I'm not even a big fan of soft shell crab. It goes well with the green mango salad. Be warned: if you're intolerant to spicy (like I am) their mild is equivalent to a medium spice. It's not for the faint of heart. Also, I appreciate that they take care of people with peanut/nut allergies. My husband and son have allergies and they've always been careful with the ingredients. read more

Was excited to have Thai food in NY after being in PA for a while. Was disappointed to learn that the lemongrass grill had closed down but couldn't wait to have Thai. We found this restaurant and jumped right into the menu. I should have taken a pic of the menu bc it is a bit odd... I ordered the Panang curry (with pineapple) but it did not come with rice...had to order that separate! Maybe it's me BUT I have never ordered curry that was not served with rice. On top of that the curry just didn't cut it. Don't think I would visit this restaurant again. There are plenty of other Thai places around that I would prefer. read more
