SriPraPhai is a casual family-style Thai restaurant that I could definitely get used to on Long Island. I went here for a last minute Sunday dinner and was immediately seated. Got the shrimp pad Thai, beef red curry, sticky rice, Thai iced tea, a glass of wine, coconut ice cream, and a taro dessert, all for $40. You can't get that anywhere else!! The only thing that disappointed was the taro dessert. I couldn't eat it because it was lukewarm and disgusting. Otherwise, everything was great. I LOVED my red curry and would highly recommend. I absolutely love this restaurant, I used to go to the Woodside location all the time but it seems like they've gotten too busy and more rude overtime. But this location is still sweet as ever and they take credit card!! Usually whenever my family and I come here, we do family style which is to order a bunch of dishes and then share them all. Usually we get the Shrimp Pad Thai, Soft Shell Crab (any is good), Panag Curry with beef, BBQ pork, Papaya Salad with seafood, Coconut Rice -- from what I could remember. This time I wanted a little change to our routine picks, we ordered the Curry Puffs, Pad See-Ew with beef, Sautéed Crispy Pork Belly, Sautéed Fried Cod Filet plus Green Tea ice cream at the end. I feel like I can never not like a dish here, even though the Cod Filet's wasn't my personal favorite -- everything is still extremely flavorful. Now my reasoning for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I'm pretty sure they did raise their prices a little bit. And the fact that my before I got my Green Tea ice cream, there was a bit of confusion and the waitress gave me Lychee ice cream instead. I am not sure why this place has low reviews but I can tell you, the food is as delicious as the food at the Woodside location AND this locations accept credit cards(except Amex). We ordered pineapple rice with tofu, stew beef and the red snapper and it's really yummy! Don't be fooled by the negative reviews for this place. It's clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, price is affordable, environment is great and it's cozy. Don't be afraid to co.e and enjoy. This restaurant has been usually good but today was completely unacceptable. Our family has typically ordered from here during the pandemic but today was really bad. We've been long time patrons for years. A lot of people were waiting inside for their takeout orders or for tables. Some tables were socially distanced but there were tables that were together but the parties were not. We placed an order at 5:30pm and received at 6:55pm. They told us about 30-40 min but the time turned into an hour and a half. It seems they started cooking when we arrived for pick up at 6:00pm. Somebody PACKING ORDERS did not have her mask on and was wiping her nose with her wrist multiple times. And then when we get back with our food, the vegetables looked very sad. My girlfriend and I tried this place a little while back and decided that it would become our go to Thai place. Here's why. Soothing green walls, large open space,tables still kinda close though.I don't know why a location out on Long Island does this. Or why they sit patrons right next to each other in an empty restaurant. Anywayz... Parking right on the premises. Lychee martini was good, not too sweet. Green curry, medium, had the perfect kick. Portion was generous. Lots of thick sauce and veggies(bamboo shoots,peppers ,no eggplant though,love eggplant in my green curry). The coconut rice, which is extra, was really good.Grainy, not too sweet but perfectly coconut-y. I never get the appetizers because the portions of the entrees are plentiful and I save the calories for the martini but maybe next time because they look really delish and the other patrons do a lot of oohing and ahhhing over them. I brought my family visiting from the Bay Area (who have high expectations RE: thai food) and they were blown away! The favorite dish- curry puff! Flaky and delicious with the dipping sauce! Just went here for lunch with a friend and thought it was great. We both got the lunch special which included an appetizer, soup, main entree and a drink for $13.95!!! I got the chicken and shrimp dumpling, coconut soup, the chili chicken w/basil as my entree and a thai iced tea to quench my thirst. I thought the dumplings were okay, (in general I'm not a huge fan of dumplings by any means) soup was delicious, the chili chicken hit the spot and my thai iced tea was excellent (strong & not overly sweet). I have been meaning to try this place for awhile now since it is so close to my house. Finally had the chance on a night where I was able to convince my girlfriend to try Thai. I was very impressed. The food is excellent. Had some of my traditional favorites too measure the quality against other Thai restaurants that I have frequented and I was very happy with the food. The only area that I experienced some room for improvement was the online ordering portal. Process was a bit clunky. I would certainly recommend based on the food and how nice the people are. I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time was on a Saturday night and everything went well. We went again today for lunch and we had very bad experience. The food is on the pricy side, but the taste is not much better compared to the Thai food in the area. What really threw me off is the service. When the waitress came to take our order, my phone ran coincidentally. Immediately, the waitress rolled her eyes and gave us an impatient look. Seriously? I understand that the waitress wants to get her job done, but the restaurant was not even half full at the time..... After we placed the order, we had some questions about some dishes on the menu. The waitress didn't even want to listen to us and said "listen, let me repeat what you ordered..... ". Not sure how we haven't seen this place sooner, but finally a good thai place in the area! The menu is pretty extensive, with a ton of options to satisfy any craving. I had the soup noodle, he had the massaman curry. Everything was delicious. The service was a bit spotty, but bearable. All that really mattered was that the food was good and it was. Fairly large restaurant and there were just as many people filing in as there were tables. Very happy with this place and would definitely come back again. I had bookmarked this location after the wonderful takeout experience at their Queens location. Luckily since H mart is just a block away I was able to to justify to get some delicious Thai takeouts after some grocery shopping. I got the Curry Rice noodles and the Curry sauce was simply amazing much like their other location. I shouldn't have gotten rice vermicelli however I didn't think about how it would get all sticky and bunched up after its cooked. However luckily I had some Jasmine rice waiting for me at home so got to have an amazing meal despite the sticky noodles. The bean sprouts were fresh and I really like how they kept the peanuts separate in a different containers rather than just sprinkled on top. Definitely 5 stars for the food. The restaurant is bit bigger than their other location and has its own private parking lot. They are decorated similarly with modern colors and lighting so its definitely a nice ambiance inside.Although there are plenty of street parking around since its mostly a residential neighborhood on the side streets But I did have to wait longer than I did before compare to the other location. Its most likely just because they were busier plus had other take out orders before me. Next time I'm hoping to come in for a sit down meal to try out even more of their menus. I did notice that unlike their Woodside location the take out desserts are located further back which is probably getting less visibility. Oh and also the prices are slightly higher ($0.50 higher for the curry noodle I got) most likely because they actually take credit cards at this place so passed on the credit card merchant fee costs. So I finally bit the bullet and tried this outpost of the Thai behemoth out on the Island and I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is almost identical to the flagship restaurant in Woodside and prices are about the same. I think portions are slightly larger. Arrived here at 625pm and it was not busy when i came and placed my order. I ordered beef pad thai and a thai iced tea to go. It is now 7:20 pm and it is definitely very busy but i am sitting here and no one has said a word to me. 5 minutes ago I asked them how much longer it will take and they asked me what my name is again. Since then no one has answered my simple question and it is almost one hour since i ordered and staff is walking right by me without saying a word or even looking at me. I will let you know when I get the food and what measures they take to make this right. Update: received my order around 725pm. The woman who initially took my order apologized many times but didn't say what happened. I do not ever try to get something "free" unless i feel like service has been horrible or the food is disgusting. As i was leaving I asked the manager what he could do to try to make me feel a little better about waiting an hour and being ignored by all the servers...I asked for money off next check maybe a 10 dollar gift certificate, 15 percent off next order.... anything?? He kept nodding his head smiling but was not doing anything, just standing there...at this point i was really angry and said just get me a free dessert ill wait longer at this point. The place is good, but not that great: I certainly had better Thai food in NYC. Perhaps this location is not up to par with the one in Woodside...? The ambiance is ok: dull green walls with two large rugs under a glass (I asked the bartender what they were, but he had no clue...), and matching dull green polo shirts for the waiting staff. Above the bar there are three globular glass holders that double as lamps: very cool! A large flat screen tv that was showing a football game hangs about the entrance: not so cool. We arrived here at 8 pm on a Saturday night, and the place was packed. Rush hour lasted until about 9:30, and surprisingly they have only a single bartender to deal with all bar orders! We decided to seat at the bar, which I always like. The menu has color pictures for each single dish, which is helpful if you are not too familiar with Thai dishes. VH and I shared the papaya salad with crispy catfish ($10), which was weird: I expected chunks of deep fried catfish or something, but instead we got some sort of deep fried catfish soup chiffonade... My flat noodles with squid and chicken were good: a solid dish that did not disappoint. VH's sour curry with shrimp and cha omelette was very spicy, but still flavorful. I was ecstatic when I found out they were opening a location only two towns over from me, and I patiently waited, like a good boy, for the opening. In my experience Thai food on Long Island is non-existent, well that's to say there are Thai places but they're all less-than-mediocre and not worth the time. This is not the case for SriPraPhai. More than just your run-of-the-mill Thai fare, they do have Pad Thai and other favorites but ordering that here would be like ordering chicken tenders at Peter Lugers; you just don't do it. There's so much more to experience here, the menu is literally like a hand book! Also there is a full-on vegetarian menu that includes appetizers and a huge array of entrees, and they ones I've had (Crispy Egg Noodle Curry and Rice Noodle Curry) are unbelievable. My absolute favorite though is the fried taro and peanut appetizer, it's the perfect combination of crispy and smooth textures and sweet and bitter flavors. I finished off with a Thai iced coffee and some Lychee ice cream, which had FRESH lychee's on top! The decor at this location is well thought out and relaxing, it's a big open space that has a ton of flow. It's simple and effectively creates a relaxing environment to enjoy some delicious food. The only downsides are the size of the parking lot but c'est la vie, large lots of land are hard to come by nowadays and the two disgustingly nasal stereotypical old Long Island woman sitting next to me whose conversation was as follows; "This isn't jasmine rice, I've had jasmine rice a million times and this isn't it." "Oh this is just appalling, it just tastes like white rice." "Don't you think this doesn't have an jasmine flavor to it." "Where's the jasmine?" First of all I would never give some place full stars when they charge for rice. Sorry. There are a million Asian style restaurants that throw rice at you, but this place charges $1.50. Nope! The service was nice. They were friendly and on top of my water glass. It was never empty. I liked a lot that they had stuff for my daughter. I mean they had a colorful kids plate, not just some disposable crap. And they gave her a cup of water with a straw. That was very nice of them. The food was good. They have a pretty large menu which is great if you're adventurous. I enjoyed the Thai tea, so good! My pork belly was spicier that I would have liked. But that's me. Wasn't that impressed with this Thai restaurant in Williston Park. Curry puffs were greasy and too flakey but the satays fared much better with a thick, delicious peanut sauce on the side. Penang curry seemed gritty as if it was one of those store bought sauces from a jar. Not terrible in terms of taste but just not home made. The duck curry with eggplant fared no better. Super spicy and salty but missing the sweet, sour and bitter elements. Service was friendly and fast but dinner was a bit pricier here than most Thai restaurants. We've been to their original Woodside location and have loved it there, but haven't been back because it's too far. We wanted to try out this location, but were extremely hesitant because of the low 3.5 star rating. We decided to give it a try last weekend since we were craving thai curry. I was pleasantly surprised. Like its Woodside location, this location also has a vegetarian menu, which is a HUGE plus because we don't have to constantly ask if there is fish sauce already added in the curry. In fact, we liked it so much we went twice last weekend! The first time we ordered red curry and the panang curry. It was SUPER spicy, which I loved, but my boyfriend suffered. The next time, we got a mild red curry and a medium hot green curry. It was great, although the mild red curry is still pretty spicy! We had enough to take home on both days Both the prices and the portion were great. As for the portion, we could have easily shared one curry dish and the prices were around $11.00 for a curry dish (not including rice). The rice (which is quite a big bowl of it - 1.5 person serving) is I believe $1.25 for Jasmine and $2.25 for the coconut rice. As for the service, we thought it was great! The waitress on the first night was really sweet despite it being incredibly busy. The waitress on the second night was a bit abrupt (understandable since she had to serve a table of kids throwing rice around). However, the other waitress who came was really nice, and actually recommended that we not get the mango with sticky rice (even though it was available) because the mangos are not as ripe - which I appreciated and thought was really honest! FRESHNESS!! This is going to be a long review.... Sorry! I brought my Chinese (3 months in NYC) friend to my favorite Thai restaurant. It was her first time. So.... We agreed and disagreed on some tastes and flavors... It was really interesting discussing food with her... So I'm sharing with you our final thoughts on specific dishes: Vegetable Soup with Shrimp: Delicious and fresh... Clear and watery broth which allows to taste the flavor of each vegetables in the soup. The cilantro adds this freshness to the soup. Steamed Dumpling: Bland without the sauce... Light/bland, not seasoned grounded chicken taste. There's a shrimp inside which is odd. The shrimp texture does not match with the texture of the meat inside. It should complement it. There no real taste to it. Fried While Shrimp: So crunchy... Wrapped with egg roll skin it's crunchy and fun to eat. Sweet & Sour fried filet fish (sea trout): More sweet than sour... The filet fish is not seasoned not salty not fishy. I like when my fish tastes like a fish. Next time I'll try the snapper version. Shrimp Fried Rice: One of the best fried rice in town... Cut fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber, parsley, cilantro, an onions) ... not taken out of a can or frozen bag.... Just this fact brings the dish to completion. read more

The first time I had SriPraPhai was at their woodside location years ago. We had made a trek out to excitingly try some good authentic thai food. It was definitely by far one of the best thai places I ever had. Fast forward years later, I was incredibly excited to find out that they also had a Williston Park location. This place had become a staple for us for years and now one-year deep into COVID, the food here is still amazing and serves to provide some truly amazing thai food in a world that is otherwise pretty chaotic. Regardless of their expansive items and numerous offerings, we usually gravitate towards getting a flat noodle dish and a curry. This time, after not having been in months, we ordered the Beef Pad See Ew, Chicken Green Curry with a side of coconut rice and curry puffs with a thai iced tea. The curry puffs are the least stand-out on the list, but we still get them every time. It's a good balance of aromatic curry flavors in a crispy flaky puff pastry. Not AMAZING, but definitely appetizing. The Beef Pad See Ew is next up on our way up. The flat noodles are soft and fresh, not like other places where the noodles break apart. The sweetness that is characteristic of this dish is not overwhelming at this location like many others. Overall, pretty good. Finally, the Chicken Green Curry. Their curry, if you haven't tried it before, you're missing out. It's fantastic. Word of caution as someone who frequently eats and enjoys spicy food, like asian levels of spice, I would still recommend their mild (which is level 2 of 4 or 5). Their normal thai spice level is borderline pain flavored. They do not play around with their spice. Proceed at your own caution. Paired with the sweet, fluffyness of their aromatic coconut rice, definitely a meal to always look forward returning to. read more

Second time here I was disappointed still by the flavors and terrible desserts. Third time here will sadly be my last as on top of the above mediocrity, the service was appalling. It took 15 min for them to take our order, another 30 min for our appetizer to arrive, and then they got our entree order wrong. We sat with empty glasses have the time waiting for just water. And I forgot to read my past review, but never ever get dessert here. I made the mistake 3 times which I guess makes me insane. This time we got the coconut jackfruit ice cream which came frozen and in a cardboard container (like Italian ice). Tasted horrible also. The wait time here is ridiculous. I went once and I absolutely will never step foot inside this establishment again. After calling 20 minutes before arriving to see if there would be a long wait time, I was assured that I could just walk in and be seated with my guest. That was not the truth I ended up waiting almost an hour then hurriedly had to eat my meal, as they were getting ready to close by the time they sat us down. There was a hair in my plain lemonade, after I had to send my first drink back because the waitress did not understand my instructions to make me an Arnold Palmer, just a half iced tea half lemonade and she brought me a thai iced tea with lemon. Came here with a group and really enjoyed the food here. And since I was here with a group, I got got sample a bunch of dishes. Let's start off with the Tom-yum soup. It was very good, and wasn't watered-down at all. Very good. We also tried egg rolls and a few different appetizers and they were all pretty good. For entree, we had a lot of items, so I'll just write about the ones that I remember. My favorite was the Sauteed Mock Duck. It was excellent. The Drunken Noodles was very good also. It's been interesting reading these mixed reviews below. I, like many other Yelpers love the location in Woodside. I have been haunting it for a good amount of time now. I've been wanting to try this location because I heard there is usually no wait and it has the same menu so the husband and I stopped here before going to Ikea in Hicksville. This location is very pretty, a nice open space and definitely not as crowded as the original location. We got some of the dishes that we usually order and asked for them medium spicy which the waitress replies, "that means American spicy. Ok?" I replied back, "Ok!." Sure enough, our food came out-drunken noodle, fish, trout curry, bean thread salad and it had a really nice amount of spice! I guess it's somewhat authentic but I've never been to Thailand so I don't really know. But I've had other Thai food in the area and it seems to me that they have extremely small portions and some of the dishes are excessively salty. We've eaten here many times and it's always a madhouse -- super crowded and noisy -- but now because of the virus we ordered food to go. When we started asking too many questions, like if they do curbside delivery, they simply hung up on us. I don't know how they'll do social distancing when restaurants open again but they were rude ithe phone I don't think there's any reason to do take out again. read more
