Nestled right on the water, the setting alone makes it worth a visit--there's nothing quite like dining with gentle breezes and sparkling views all around. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were tasty and nicely seasoned, though I've enjoyed even crisper versions elsewhere. Next up, the roasted beet salad blew me away: tender, earthy beets paired with just the right balance of greens and dressing--it was absolutely incredible. The side of smoked bacon butter beans was equally outstanding: creamy, smoky, and rich without being heavy. To round out the meal, I sipped on an Old Fashioned that was expertly mixed--smooth, perfectly balanced, and delightfully boozy. All in all, St. Augustine Fish Camp offers a gorgeous setting, inventive dishes, and top-notch cocktails. We came in for a late weekday lunch. They were quiet and we had our choice of seating inside or out. We chose to sit outside on the patio overlooking the water. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. She offered us some great options. We started with the all day seafood soup and ceviche tostados. The soup was a vegetable base with chunks of seafood. We found it a bit salty. The ceviche was loaded with shrimp, onion, and jalapeño peppers on two tostada shells. They were well proportioned with a spicy sauce. Our entree was the low-country boil for two. One crab cluster, shrimp, sausage, and steamed oysters substituted for clams. It was loaded with potatoes, onions, corn, mushrooms, and broccoli. From the staff on the phones responding to me asking for wait times to the joyful serve staff, to the cooks preparing masterpieces, and the bus staff cleaning tables so quickly to bless some more patrons. I have eaten here twice now and I have been treated with TLC!!! Tonight were had Natalie taking care of us on the back deck. She was so kind, personable, and attentive. She went over and above when she let us trade tables to get out of the breeze of this freakishly chilly evening. The wind was kickin'. We shared an earthy and healthy beet salad. Yummm, the cheese pairing!!! Hubby devoured his soup, before I even returned from the ladies room. We were sold on the Gorgonzola steak due to Natalie's knowledgeable description!!! And it was yummy!!! So savory!!! And the veggies were cooked to perfection... it is so easy to overcook squash. The ahi tuna was so tender.. it didn't even need sauce, but hubby loved the wasabi!!! I looooved the sesame dressing on the salad! The fresh and crispy salad paired so well with the dressing!!! Our friend ordered the fish sandwich!!! Celebrating 20th wedding anniversary and wanted seafood. We started with an old fashion made with their house bourbon, aka Buffalo trace and a mule. Both drinks were good. There was no wait time to eat at the bar, but about an hour if we wanted a table, we opted to sit at the bar. Recommend making a reservation, we didn't know but bar seating was fine with us. This was a fantastic late lunch! As it was rather hot out, we sat inside, but I want to return when the weather is cooler so we can sit on the porch and enjoy the San Sebastian River views. However, the dining room indoors was bright & pleasant, so that definitely wasn't a bad option. Parking was easy in their large lot, but I also noticed the Old Town Trolley gave them a mention when we rode by the next day. So I think they're a trolley stop or very close to one. Everything about this place was amazing! From the food to the service, it was a win all the way around. We arrived around 4:00 pm on a Wednesday. Thankfully, there was no wait. Our waiter was absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, his name escapes me as I'm writing this review a week and a half later. I have zero complaints about this place except I wish we had one here in GA! It has been over 2 years since we last visited SAFC and decided to celebrate La Jefa's Birthday and got reserved seats at 545 PM. Great ambiance, chill music, guests seem happy being there-and so are we! Ordered beers and sweet drinks and got appetizers-Calamari, Ceviche, and a dozen steamed oysters. They were all delicious as expected. For the main dishes, we got Grilled Salmon, the Pork Chop dinner, and the Seafood Linguini-just needed a pinch of salt I thought. Nice seafood spot right on the water. We came in January so a little chilly but still nice to sit outside. They had heaters but we didn't need it. Good amount of parking on site and nearby and also a valet but we parked ourselves. We got the pimento cheese spread which was good but would be nice to have more bread with it. Loved this place! We booked a reservation for 7 and the food & service was great. Our server Ian was fantastic. He was cognizant of our 5 year old niece which was great. He asked if we wanted to put her food in first and also asked about dessert discretely. Everyone at the table loved their food. I ordered the scallop special. It was amazing! Shortly after that we were seated by a hostess that offered a choice of seating. The restaurant is clean and well maintained located just off the San Sebastián River and has beautiful views of surrounding marinas. This was our first time visiting and were previously told that the shrimp and grits were highly recommended. I will say they are very good but would rather have them with Cajun seasonings. We finished with the key lime pie and it was one of the best I've had in St Aug! We've come here so many times and the food never disappoints, but tonight the service was not the best. The restaurant itself could a a little tricky to find. Not in the most populated area of St. Augustine, but it was situated by the water. We ate inside but had a very nice view. There were 8 of us who were in the area for a golf trip. That usually means 8 separate checks. No problem. I picked the venue using Yelp where I saw it had some great reviews and a very nice, not to highly priced, menu. We all started out with some celebratory libations. For me it was a martini. I believe that 3 or 4 of us ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter which consisted of flounder, shrimp and scallops. I don't know if this restaurant is related to the Fish Camp near Hilton Head, but the taste certainly was very good. It could pass for cousins. I have been to Palm Vally, Julington Creek and St. Augustine fish camps. This was my second visit to this location. Stopped in around 4pm for an early pre-concert dinner. Their blackened catch with Grits, Collard Greens and Tasso Ham Gravy is one of my favorite dishes of all time. The dish is plentiful and rich. Fish is always cooked well. The grits are creamy and thick. The collards have a bite with a hint of sweetness. Finally, no one would blame you if you wanted to bathe in the Ham Gravy. This location is tucked behind Old Towns main square with beautiful water views. Their icy fish display is weaker than other locations and the bathroom needed a decent dusting, but otherwise the place is spacious and clean. Staff is always friendly. read more

Unfortunately, we were not aware that reservations were needed, so we found two seats at the bar that worked out great. For dinner, we both went for seafood. My choice with the combination platter where I selected 3 options. The calms strips were by far the best selection of the three ... so tender! Next came the shrimp which were fine. Last was the cod which was a little disappointing as they were more like mini cod bites than a whole fillet ... which ultimately caused them to dry out when fried. All in all the food was quite good. I had actually expected a short wait since the parking lot was full. I had barely been seated before my server came and explained all the lunch specials. Food was excellent, everything tasted amazing. Top mentions were our actual dinners. The broiled fish platter had an amazing lemon butter sauce that really complimented all food on the plate. The grouper was the special for the night and it truly did not disappoint, the fish was cooked to perfection and served over phenomenal mashed potatoes.
