It was impressive that despite it being open , there's food ventilation maybe due to the very high ceiling . The place is large , open and is conducive for big groups . We had the charcuterie board, arancini ball ( crowd favorite ), sashimi , pasta to share served with the delicious bread . The entree choices varied from steak , bass ( popular choice ) with the caper sauce and pasta . Most opted out on dessert but the one who did order the chocolate cake enjoyed it . Amazing and stellar service from start to finish tonight. The host was very warm and welcoming and my server was very knowledgeable in the menu and helped guide me to the perfect meal tonight. I absolutely loved the complimentary focaccia bread which came with a creamy ricotta. I also tried the beef ravioli and the lobster risotto which was delicious but very rich! We absolutely love St. Cecilia. The stars of the menu are the complimentary vegan fociccia, the Agnolotti ravioli (a must-try), and the Bucatini. Our server's name last night was Gianna--she was fantastic and took great care of us. We started with the roasted olives and sardines. Roasted olives don't sound exciting, but they were truly phenomenal--highly recommend. If you like olives. You will LOVE their roasted olives. We also like the lobster risotto, and the ribeye is next on our list. If the squid ink pasta ever makes a return, it's excellent as well. I ordered the Ramble on Rose which is a light vodka cocktail that was easy to drink and really light and freshing--perfect for a girls' night out, brunch, or a warm summer evening with a salad. *I'd love to see a dry or oaky white wine added to the by-the-glass list. During our previous/last visit, our server brought drinks and appetizers but never returned to take a dinner order. This experience was disappointing. We paid and left. This is not typical of the excellent service we usually enjoy at St. Cecilia. St. Cecilia is known for taking exceptional care of guests, and it continues to be our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. This comes from two people who were born and raised in the ATL. In addition, the ambiance is beautiful--whether during the day or at night under the street lights. 4.5 stars St. Cecilia had been on my list to try while in Atlanta, and I was thrilled to see that it was located close to where I was staying. I had the evening to myself, so I figured I would just grab a seat at the bar, and when I did, I noticed that I was not the only one in that situation; there were a bunch of folks dining and drinking solo. Luckily for us, the bar was lengthy and spacious, and the bartender was so engaging and helpful. The restaurant was also just beautiful; there were high ceilings and sleek, white accents, leading to a very modern atmosphere. I got settled at the bar and perused the cocktail list, setting my sights on the MAMBO No.3, which included blanco tequila, blonde vermouth, passion fruit, and soda. I was in love with the drink, finding it fruity, yet light and refreshing. According to the bartender, it was modeled after an Italian soda. While I sipped the beverage, I indulged with the large round loaf of house-made focaccia that I had all to myself. The bread was nice and fluffy, but too greasy for my liking, especially because it was accompanied by a small cup of whipped ricotta in a very aromatic olive oil; I would have loved to enjoy more of the creamy cheese spread, but the focaccia was already too oily. After these starter treats, I enjoyed my bowl of Mafaldine al Nera, a squid ink pasta, tossed with calamari, shrimp, mussels, and a lot of chili. In fact the dish was even spicier than I had imagined from the bartender's warning, but I still thought it was delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked; the seafood was very fresh; and the red sauce really packed a burst of flavor. While I am not typically one to dine alone, St. Celicia's bar scene and staff made it an inviting prospect. A gorgeous place for celebrations. They have valet parking as well as a parking deck for self park. Reservations were a breeze to make on open table. Our host was warm and friendly. We seated indoors. Our server was amazing, we liked each one of his recommended drinks and dishes. I got the mezcal drink , it was very Smokey just how I like it. We got the hamachi for starters along with the fried rice balls. It was fabulous. The fish was definitely slightly fishy so if your not a pescatarian, I would avoid it. For mains, I got the wood grilled chicken. It was cooked to perfection. It had bits of bacon in the sauce. I loved it and enjoyed it very much. So we had a super interesting experience here. Twice Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Presentation looks better than it tastes. Trust me. The manager is great he was very professional with the tip situation and treated us back one night . We came back in December (just now doing this review). And it took at least 10 to 15 minutes for us to get served water and have our waiter come talk to us. She wasn't very attentive and then to top it off at the end of the night she spilled like a third of my wine I had left and did not replace it with the wine. I ordered. She brought back a gross whiskey sour.... and then she added more money to the tip after we left my boyfriend checked his account.... The manager handled the situation well once we realized the next week and treated us back in January. The food is honestly just not that good. And we were hoping it was an off night but after 2X it was very mediocre. Would not spend my $$ here. The bread is the best part. We came twice and we got different dishes each time to see and the second time we came my fish was mushy and felt like it had been frozen for too long or overcooked. It was not good at all. She was able to make a cocktail from an old menu based on measurements of the drink from a prior visit and she nailed it. She was also very friendly and always had a smile on. It's a beautiful restaurant. It's not too posh or modern, but it almost feels like you're not in Georgia because of the European color scheme and floor to ceiling windows. The Tagliata Di Manzo (aka ribeye) was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the capers were the unexpected star of the show. They added the right amount of salt and tang to the steak. The charcuterie selection board is probably one of my favorites that I've had so far in Atlanta. Huge portions, every single meat and cheese was delicious. I really appreciated the honeycomb, honey is such a perfect complement to charcuterie but not everywhere served them together. The mustard/relish condiment was also a nice surprise - not too mustard forward, but enough acidity to go with the sweetness of the meats. the prosciutto was the softest I've ever had - in the best way. It almost melted in your mouth. I wish they served endless amounts of their fresh focaccia. It is so crispy that the outside almost shatters when you crack into it while the inside stays fluffy. It is the ideal foundation to eat with your charcuterie as well. The hamachi was okay - felt like it needed more salt in order to bring out the flavor of the fish. The patate croccanti was an excellent accompaniment for the ribeye. They had a nice funk from the cheese and they were not too crispy but still crispy enough to be the textural component of the meal. I told our server we were visiting form out of town, and every time she came by our table she had recommendations for places to see on our visit to Atlanta. One of the food runners sweetly said she what come back to see what our favorite pasta dish was. We started with the complimentary foccia and ricotta, and honestly could have just ate several plates of that. We also had the arancini which was fine. Pre set menu for valentines day was $150 per person and you got about $40 worth of food per person. Portions were very small and food was average. A very beautiful restaurant in buckhead! Didn't deal with parking here, but they do have valet for 3 dollars. We had an early reservation on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy. Came for my friends birthday and they had stamped her menu and that was nice. They brought out the bread to start and that was a nice crispy bread with more of a fluffy bottom. The butter was delicious! Tasted very fresh and it was a great start. We ordered the gnocco fritto which was cheesy goodness. Apparently they only have a limited number of these per day so I'm glad we got to try. I ordered the cacio e Pepe as my main and I devoured it. One of the better meals I have had in a while. First and foremost, the octopus appetizer is a MUST. It is one of the best apps I have ever had. My friend and I literally got spoons in order to eat all the broth it was in, it was that good. For my main, I had the pesto sea bass and she had the lobster risotto. Both were great. My fish was a solid size and I ate it all. My friend is gluten free, so they were nice to accommodate her so much that they even sent her out something for free in leu of the bread she couldn't eat (not sure this is always a thing, but was nice nonetheless). They even had a dessert that they were able to make gluten free and it was really good. It looks like ice cream in the picture, but it was more like a mousse. Almost like if you could ball up a flourless chocolate cake. Biggest critique I would make is that the side options are both minimal and expensive. $15 for a side is steep even for other high end restaurants in ATL. I opted not to get one, so I can't speak on the size or taste. Overall a really great meal and I plan to be back! read more

St. Cecilia offers a menu of primarily Italian inspired fare in a swanky, Buckhead space. My wife and I are big pasta fanatics, and gravitate towards restaurants that serve fresh noodles. In need of a fancy date night, we chose St. Cecilia. Reservations do not seem difficult to come by, though you do need a couple days of advance planning for weekends. Parking occurs through a $3 valet, and while some garages are close by the valet appears the cheapest option. The ambiance of the restaurant evokes a high end hotel lobby (in a good way); think high ceilings, marble accents, and dark woods. We started with a trio of small plates and St Cecilia's bread service. The focaccia deserves special mention, as it tasted quite fresh with a pillowy crumb and slightly crunchy, buttery crust that acted as a good vehicle for dipping. Our favorite of the appetizers was the octopus. The classic pairing of cured pork manifested as a perfectly grilled, tender octopus tentacle and saucy, spicy nduja sausage. We enjoyed the crunchy, cheesy arancini and the small order of tapas style anchovies, but have had better renditions elsewhere. Our main courses, the lumache and occhi pieni pastas, came next after a comfortable pause. The noodles themselves both demonstrated a pleasant texture with a toothsome bite and proper chew. We preferred the lumache composition due to its complimentary seafood and light tomato sauce flavors that made for an addictive forkful. The potato occhi pieni fell flat for our palettes. It comprised round pasta stuffed with creamy potato purée in a butter lemon sauce topped with fish roe. The dish ate overly rich and salty, and felt a chore to finish. Service remained attentive throughout our meal. Our waiter readily helped with wine and food selections, and additionally routinely cleared crumbs and silverware during the meal. Overall, St Cecilia represents a good if not groundbreaking choice for a nice dinner. The fancy ambiance, polished but friendly service, and menu selections offer something for most diners and the prices aren't prohibitively expensive. It's thus a solid 4 star experience for my wife and I, and while we feel there are better pasta options in the city we would consider a return trip here if in need of an elegant yet unstuffy experience. read more

Colleen at the host stand was so warm and inviting setting the tone for what we knew was going to be an awesome experience and we were right!! The light streaming in from the windows filtered by the sheer curtains was lovely. I really enjoyed the salad here. To this day I'm still talking about the salad. Crisp, light tangy dressing and a hearty portion. The food had great flavor. The yellowtail crudo was surprisingly light and flavorful, and the pasta was spicy, seafood was seasoned well. Added to all this, our server was very kind. I had a hard time choosing my drink and he didn't pressure me at all, even when I had to send one of the drinks back because I didn't like it. I will be coming back, but I've put 4/5 stars because they had certain liquor missing from the bar that should be there imo. No grey goose? What a perfect Christmas Dinner we had! My sweet boss of a man invited our little team and plus ones here for our company dinner, no expense spared. We literally had some of at least half of the menu because I didn't get pics of everything including yellowtail carpacchio, champagne among other dishes and drinks. My bestie came with me and we both agree that this was one of the best meals ever. The ambience, our waiter Richard (he's a captain there) and even the bathroom (on the 1st floor but more are upstairs) were all class. My boss even covered everyone's valet parking and gave us cash gifts before leaving. Our whole entire experience was top tier. The apps and entrees were perfection honestly. I tasted someone's creme brulee, the tiramisu and the chocolate cake were just OK. Every food dish (minus dessert) was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The focaccia bread was light and airy inside and crispy outside, oh my goodness! I'd like to be buried in the focaccia if possible . My biggest pro was our service. Richard knew how to describe the dishes to where it made you want to try something. He also got our orders right so that no one had to ask twice for anything. They even noted where we sat so we were delivered our items accordingly. When I say we had a true dining experience, it would almost be an understatement. The food is 5 stars, but I have to take one star away because of the service. At the four top table, we did everything; cocktails, appetizers, salads, entrees, wine, bread and dessert. The White anchovies and octopus were outstanding. Caesar salad was delicious and huge as was the focaccia. The beet salad with humboldt fog cheese was all beets (where is the cheese?). My beef cheeks, his crispy pork, her monkfish and her striped bass are all excellent. It was a busy Friday night 730 reservation. The bar was crowded. It took about 20 minutes to get a cocktail. We had to hold off on food service so we would have time to enjoy our cocktails. I had to prompt our server to get a rundown on the menu; it was our first visit to this establishment. She could be an auctioneer in her spare time. Water service was lacking until brought to the attention of the server. Later as things quieted down service improved immensely . Desserts were consistent with the food, outstanding. We were given an extra desert; perhaps she sensed our small,albeit present frustration with service. Overall, I will come back and likely they will earn that last star. I hope I can bump it up for them. They are a well established institution and here for the long hall. BTW, valet service was also SLOW. First, we didn't know that you had to walk to the garage to find the attendant. Second, there was one person for all the patrons leaving at around 10pm.
