The service is great. The food is really good however, the chicken quesadilla is not the best. I had an issue of hardly any chicken being in the quesadilla and that was a while ago. A couple of weeks ago, myself & my husband were there for the Renaissance Fair (THAT WAS SPECTACULAR!!) . As I was waiting in line a lady came up and complained about the chicken quesadilla, which had hardly any meat. So I'd wouldn't recommend that particular item in the menu. Want an experience and not just drinks and food? Stable Craft Brewery is a solid choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was really good. My husband had the Smokehouse Platter and thought it offered plenty of tasty food. I had the Carolina Gold Chicken Crusty Roll and upgraded my side to the Charred Corn Succotash. Absolutely delicious!! After lunch, we walked the property, visiting the horses, donkey, and stables. Played an assortment of outdoor games they had available, too, such as Donut Toss, Cornhole Golf, Sand Volleyball, and Outdoor Connect Four. Stable Craft Brewing also has lodging available. We're seriously considering a trip to do just that! We found this place during travel. Its laid-back atmosphere, fabulous music, great food, and fun entertainments were well worth the visit. We stayed in the Paddock Suite for our 1 year wedding anniversary this month and had the best experience. We were even able to order beer ahead of time to be put in the room. The brewery was close but we still had some privacy. The view of the mountains from our porch was stunning. The beers and ciders on tap were great, fall is my favorite season for brews and I had their pumpkin beer around the fire pit a couple times. The food selection has something for everyone, my favorite is split between the steak and shrimp or the trout piccata. After the bar closed we got in the hot tub and watched the stars. I like the atmosphere of Stable Craft with the music, fire pits, and scenery. Everyone there is friendly as well. The food is where I felt let down. For $19, my steak salad had no eggs and no bacon in it. The steak pieces were thinly sliced. For the dressing, the honey mustard looked and tasted like pure mustard and I couldn't stand the taste so I asked for a different salad dressing instead. I was charged to have a different salad dressing (which I didn't see until after I paid and the receipt went to my phone), bringing this salad up to $21. read more

The food was not for human consumption, burger was burnt black as was the steak and the potatoes that accompanied were black from the grease on the skillet it was served in. I had ordered a side of ranch for the chips with the burger, it was missing from the order, went to the bar to request and was told I needed to order again at the bar. Returned the whole meal and the manager said that I would not be charged. Alas, I was charged for all. They should stick to beer and replace management. read more

A fun place to visit while in town, but seems like something more for locals. Stable Craft is a brewery meant for hanging out and enjoying time drinking with friends. We went for lunch and while the decor was cute and the place was clean, it was a bit loud. In addition, the food was pretty pricey for overdone burgers. I was able to sample the cranberry orange cider, which I'm glad was an option because it wasn't my favorite. It was a bit bitter when I thought it would be sweet. I ended up going with their homemade root beer, which was smooth and rich. The southern pleasure burger was a bit overdone, but the homemade pimento cheese really helped cover it up. The get piggy with it burger didn't have the same saving grace, so it stayed dry. If you do want a burger from here, get the southern pleasure burger. read more

Went to Stable Craft for St Pats party in the ballroom with the Findells. We had to wait a few minutes before they would let us in the ballroom so we got beer. After getting settled in the ballroom we ordered our food, having to go back out and stand in line to order. However line moved quickly and the staff were very helpful. I enjoyed my shrimp and grit cakes. It was a very large portion but my husband helped me. I tasted a burnt end. The salads were just ok. We enjoy Stable Craft in general but having to leave the room to stand in line to order food and drinks, missing out on the music is not convenient. Also noticed servers wandering around the room with food trying to find people doesn't seem to be a good system. I think they can do better. read more

I'm feeling a bit conflicted here. The location is great and I like that they have a lot of food and beer options, it's just that the options were OK-to-Good. 3.5 stars? The place was busy so service was difficult. The beer was good enough; if I was rating just the beer I'd probably give it 4 stars. But the food was...in a word...standard. We enjoyed the cider, ale, and soda -- the drinks were definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered the mushroom burger, Southern Pleasure burger, and steak tips. Although we requested the burgers medium, we were told that all burgers are cooked to the same temperature. When the food arrived, everything -- burgers and steak tips included -- was well done. The burgers were dry, with all the fat and flavor cooked out, and served with store-bought chips. At $19 per burger, I expected more than an overcooked hockey puck. The steak tips were similarly overdone and tough. When we brought it up, our server acknowledged that the burgers looked overcooked and mentioned they had two new cooks -- but didn't offer to remake them. I had to speak with a manager to have our meals redone. The view is beautiful, and the drinks are good, but the food doesn't justify the price. For $20 per person, there are plenty of better dining options nearby. Stick to the drinks and enjoy the scenery -- but skip the food. read more

Total was 4 lunches, nachos, 2 ciders, a beer and an ice tea. $142.00 plus the tip was right about $163.oo YIKES !! Major thing I found is it just feels like they nickel and dime you over everything. charge 3% for the credit card use, which is kinda BS. BUT the real issue I had was this phantom charge of 3.79% for what was labeled as a "Transaction Adjustment" (WTF!). Talked to the server and she just shrugged her shoulders. Manager came over and said it was for the handheld POS system they use, they "pass on the charges to the customers" (Seriously WTF is that). On top add in the Tax in Waynesboro at ~11.5%. I added it up and the fees, taxes and tip wound up at ~$44.oo , for frikin lunch. Pricey place and the food was just ok. Be ready to hit the atm. read more

Never again. This is a beautiful location and it has always fun to hang out there but recently their prices have skyrocketed for no particular reason. After going on a hike today my friend suggested we head over for a sandwich and a beer. I had a hamburger and a pint of their dark ale. I hadn't been there in a while so I accept that I should have paid more attention to the menu prices but one small (3oz ) overcooked hamburger with no cheese is $16.00! The cheese - a slice of "cheese food" American - was an additional $1.50 and the beer was $8.00. With state and city taxes this all came to $31.00 before tip. For a burger and one beer. What annoys me most is that Remedy Burger in Staunton (about six miles away) does a double patty smash burger with cheese and chips for $12.00 and the food is so much better. read more

Honestly kinda mixed feelings. 1. Bartenders were nice, fast and attentive. 2. Tables were clean and food was a quick turnaround. 3. Generally a very nice place, plenty of space and felt very cozy. The bad.. $17 for nachos with premade chips... Wateriest "cheese" I've ever had in nachos. I don't say on the nachos because they couldn't even coat the chips before doing what liquid does and slid off. I'd say it was a one off occurrence except it was the same with my wife's Nachos and with the Pretzel my brother ordered. That said the meat on the nachos were good (got both the Pork & chili nachos) but for $17/ea I expected something more. My beer was warm and the staff argued with me rather than even suggesting I try a different listing. I waited a long time to get to Stable Craft. We live about an hour away, so it's not that easy to just stop by. I waited until my birthday and asked for dinner at Stable Craft to be my present. I was so excited, and I knew the menu front and back. It all sounded so delicious! I was so excited when we pulled up, because the setting really is beautiful. There were dining bubbles, a beautiful outdoor bar, and sparkling string lights everywhere, with a stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The main indoor bar and dining room was lovely too, with a view into the stables. But that's where the great review ends. As we walked past the large variety of StableCraft Merchandise, we weren't sure how to proceed. It only took a minute though for someone to notice our confusion and explain that we could seat ourselves, look at the food menu at the table and choose our beverages from a video screen above the bar (a bit too small for me to see clearly with my glasses). We decided to sit indoors with a nice view, because it was sunset and chilly outside. Having decided on our food, we made our way to the bar, but there is a circular clothing/merch rack right in front of the registers, so you couldn't form a line at either of the two registers. No one could tell who was next. And not being a regular, like many of the other people who were there, we weren't sure of the procedure. It wasn't until I got to place our order that we heard from the folks in front of us that it was a smashburger special night, and there were many types of specialty burgers not on the menu. That menu was only available at the register. Not wanting to hold up the line that was forming behind us, we ordered our original choices and were given a number to place on our table for delivery. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger (Fungusamongus) , one of my go-tos, and my partner ordered the pulled pork nachos. I was asked if I wanted chips or a side, and I chose the coleslaw, not realizing it was an upcharge of $3 on my $14 burger, making it an $17 entree. It was meh. It wasn't awful, the burger at least. But it was average, and I could have enjoyed a Hardee's mushroom burger as much or more, and for a smaller price tag. The coleslaw was inedible. It was purple cabbage only, old and soggy, no crisp bite, no seasoning. Pretty awful looking and tasting. The pulled pork nachos ($16 for an appetizer) looked better, but they were poorly executed. There were 3 large chunks of pork plopped on top of a small skillet of nachos. They were covered in a lot of sauce which made them instantly soggy, with a pile of jalapeños. There was no way to eat them. All of the toppings were on top, with the dry chips underneath, so you had to unstick them, mix the topping into it, and shred the pork yourself to be able to get a bit of all of it. Which wasn't easy, because the sauces made the chips so soft they couldn't stand the weight. I had ordered a blueberry soda, and my partner was excited to try the Oatmeal Stout. The soda was ok, water would have been better, but just water was $2.75 so I went with the soda. The oatmeal stout was bizzare. It was flat, with no head on it, like it had been sitting for a while before it was brought to the table. And there was nothing oatmeal stout about it. It was so heavily seasoned with cinnamon that it seemed much more like a Christmas beer. So, he drank half and tried their standard Stable craft beer, thinking it is their brand so maybe it would be better. It wasn't. He drank half of each and left the rest. I felt awful that when it was all said and done it was almost $70 with tax and tip, for a less than mediocre experience. I had been really looking forward to trying the bread pudding for dessert instead of birthday cake, but after such a disappointing meal I decided to save the money. I went home and ate an Oreo ice cream sandwich, and it was the best thing I'd had all day. read more

Yes, I understand that this is a brewery in rural, western Virginia and Italian probably isn't their strong suit, but a) it's on the menu, and b) how do you screw up pesto? I'm not quite sure, but the kitchen tried to make it in cast iron and we wound up with pasta in a very lemony green slurry. As for the beer, the Oktoberfest-style festbier was a little too malty, but quaffable enough. Staff were professional and friendly, for the most part. When I asked the expediter who brought us our food if he had any napkins, he told us to go look around for paper towels. And, in fact, there was a roll standing upright on a table that hadn't been cleared fifteen feet from us. Guess he thought we needed the steps. While taking a weekend vacation to Staunton we opted for a day of wineries and craft breweries. After attending Barron Ridge Vineyard that is 5 minutes down the road for lunch/early afternoon we wanted something more causal and took the quick drive to the brewery. The food was wonderful, we got a 1/2 pound of shrimp that had a spiced melted butter on top which was very good. I got the southern pleasure burger which was really really good and the beer Mac and cheese which I didn't care much for. The menu had plenty of gluten free options which was a major plus to my girlfriend who has celiac disease and is always anxious eating at a new place. There was a great variety of food to choose from, but I am puzzled as to why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Perhaps the locals can't appreciate the food, but being from Maryland I thought this was the highlight of my day. The views were amazing. Plenty of seating as the facility is huge. Dog friendly outside, we brought our chocolate lab. The outside area had several fire pits with chairs surrounding, corn hole, children's play area with a life size wagon, covered and non covered seating. read more

I have followed their progress for several years and finally had a chance to try it. Not a fan of having to go to the counter to place my order but beer was good and meal was more than enough. This is about the third time I've been to this local brewery and the experience has been pretty consistent each time. No matter how busy they are there is plenty of seating and I have always had great service with food orders coming out quick. Today was Oktoberfest and they had a special pork schnitzel with braised red cabbage and roasted potatoes. It was so delicious! The pork was juicy and tender, cooked to perfection and a huge portion. The only thing I would change is they were a bit skimpy on the braised cabbage. I had two drinks while there, first the newly released raspberry cider, then the pumpkin ale. The raspberry cider was better than I thought it would be, a lot of berry ciders are too sweet for my taste but this one was not overly sweet and maintained a bit of dryness which I prefer. The pumpkin ale was delicious, like pumpkin pie in a glass with the way they serve cinnamon sugar on the rim. I was with two other adults and my one year old daughter. They had the meatloaf and the pan seared sirloin, my daughter had the kid's chicken & cheese pasta. Everyone was satisfied but the portions of their meals were a bit smaller than expected. If you're looking for a fun place to hangout you will not be disappointed. There is a white sand volleyball court, tons of outdoor dining both under a pavilion and picnic tables, corn hole, an outdoor bar, a huge inside and air conditioned dining room, a fire pit complete with smore kits available for $5. It is pet and kid friendly for the most part. My compliant about kid friendly is that there are no changing tables in the bathroom and they do not have any drinks on the menu for kids except for water, gatorade, or soda (no juices). read more

Been a few times and it was decent, but the last trip was SO awful and the manager was so rude I wish I had documented it with a video. The IPA's were completely flat , bartender was arrogant and refused to make eye contact, not even a "hi"...the pork nachos came out cold even after asking them to be reheated. (Not lukewarm- cold) The last straw was when the manager came out to tell us we had bad taste in IPA's and that's how they are supposed to taste. We couldn't finish them and we usually like all beer. I can't say enough great things about this spot. The brewery is very clean with lots of spacing inside and out. The patio is extremely expansive with lots of seating and multiple fire pits. The staff was great and very attentive. We talked to one of the staff about the history of the stable and how it became a brewery. The horse tender put us at ease while interacting with the horses. We stayed on site and I almost hate to reveal this hidden gem of a spot. The location was central to so much in the area and the accommodations were extremely clean. There was plenty of basic utensils in the kitchen area. Our space had a back porch that overlooked the lawn and brewery grounds where we were able to enjoy the live music. We are looking forward to returning and staying again soon. read more
