Always packed and always a large plate full of goodness. Great breakfast/lunch place that has expanded to Crewtwood. Well deserved and much needed. Even during the week this place has a wait. It's totally worth it! Even just a basic egg breakfast and some pancakes...Delicious!! And that's just the basic pancakes. I'm anxious to try the Banana Bread pancakes next time. Terrible Experience! My wife and I had one of the worst experiences we've ever had at a restaurant. We visited Staked Oak Lawn back on 12/12/22. After receiving our food, my wife simply mentioned to the server that the salmon that comes with the berry fruit salad appeared much smaller than it had been the previous times we ordered it. The manager in an abrupt and rude manner came to our table with two pieces of frozen salmon in an attempt to show us how the restaurant receives it. The pieces on my wife's plate was clearly smaller, as if it had been cut. The size of the salmon quickly became the secondary issue and the primary issue became the manager's rude and disreapectful tone. (we believe his name is Tom, and we were told he was the owner). The manager / owner was extremely loud, harsh, and argumentative. He yelled at us "GET OUT OF HERE AND DON'T COME BACK!" We had been regular customers for years and most of the waitresses knew us, and were astonished at such a commotion created by the manager. If a customer has a concern there is a way to respectfully address the situation without creating a threatening boisterous embarrassing scene. They lost good customers, and everyone should beware of this rude and unprofessional manager (owner)! read more

I've visited Stscked about 3 times, my first few visits were more positive then my last. I'm guessing my food options may have been better than my last. This restaraunt is along 95th in Oaklawn, it is very popular so expect to wait 20-30 mins for a seat. The people that work here are reasonable nice. The space isn't as big as it looks from the outside. It's pretty small inside, which is probably why their is always a wait. My last visit I ordered stuffed french toast & eggs. The French toast ended up not being what I expected at all. It's not really stuffed French toast. It's like they cut open the toast put banana creme and bananas in the middle and push the slices back together. This is not what I was expecting and I was a bit disappointed but I was also very hungry because we waited at least 25-30 mins to be seated. Nothing on my last visit was overly impressive. I feel as if that last experience has ruined my take on this place. They aren't as good as I thought they were or maybe what I ordered just wasn't a good choice, either way ... I'm not sure if in the future I'll be waiting that long to be seated and I could've have went to the other millions of breakfast places closer to me. read more

I came in today 10/01/2023 to have breakfast with my family and we were seated pretty quick because the restaurant wasn't crowded. We ordered our food at 10am and don't get our food until 10:40am. I spoke with the manager Kristen or Kristi and her attitude sucked. She blamed the wait time on the waiter and whatever time he put the order in because it only took the kitchen 25 minutes. She also stated that it's a Sunday and it's always busy as if I should have known that. This was our first time at the restaurant so we didn't know it takes almost an hour to get food. This helped to set the tone for what was one of the best meals and dining experiences I've had in a very long time. Our server, "Virginia" (I believe) was exceptional. Warm, friendly, engaging - attentive, and *fast. She was training a newer employee and I say this without hesitation, is literally the template any restauranteur would want - leading training and representing their brand. She offered suggestions and was *spot on with each item (much more food than either of us needed) brought to our table. She "thought ahead" with the condiments for my colleague (every hot sauce under the sun) and "extra butter" for me (which I did not need - but sure did use) LOL Because of work, I travel regularly - and have grown numb to dining out. Visited today and we ordered the stuffed french toast which was amazing also the sausage links which were good and flavorful. My hubby got the chicken and waffle that waffle was delish. The place: On a Sunday morning, crowded. There's plenty of seating, but the waiting area is pretty cramped for the amount of people who were waiting this morning. In the summer, I imagine people wait just outside. There are BIG booths, a couple that seat six people! The location: Easy enough to find. There's parking in the back! It doesn't seem like there's a whole lot in walking distance, so you might just be showing up for breakfast and moving on elsewhere. The food: Perfect. I've dreamed of banana bread French toast and Stacked delivered. Great texture, wonderful taste. No sogginess here. It came with sweetened cream cheese which was lovely. Good coffee, though nothing to rave about. Hubsy got the broccoli and cheese omlette which he enjoyed. His hashbrowns were also pretty tasty! BONUS: you can choose pancakes in place of toast. The service: Our server was kind, though she seemed a little stressed. Understandable since it was crowded this morning. Our party had difficulty splitting our check at the end of our meal because there was a miscommunication. No one asked our server to split it and she didn't ask if we wanted it split, so we went to the counter with a full check and asked for a split. Pro tip: always ask your server is splitting the check is an option. Luckily, a manager stepped in to help us out. Next time: I'll get a skillet. On an adventuresome Saturday morning, my cousin and I headed out, driving past hundreds of local breakfast spots, to try Stacked. Upon arrival, we entered a very small and extremely crowded waiting area. The hostess indicated there would be a 30 minute wait. And, actually, after 30 minutes, we were seated at a small table for two. The restaurant, itself, is rather small, with tables of 2 or 4, arranged close together-- so close there is little elbow room in this place. However, the restaurant is bright and cheery, with lots of windows. To enjoy the view of the street, (and achieve more seating) there is a high boy "diners" row facing outward along one wall of windows. The decoration of this establishment was not notable. Our waitress promptly greeted us with a smile and took our drink orders. I had a cup of coffee with French Vanilla cream, but this coffee was STRONG. No amount of cream or sugar was enough! For my meal, I ordered Banana Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, and Scrambled Eggs with Spinach and Feta Cheese. Did I enjoy my meal???? No. First, my pancakes were thick, dry, and as heavy as bricks. Furthermore, they forgot my Bananas for the Banana Pancakes. Second, my bacon was good, but my Sausage was undercooked-- still pink. For my cousin's meal, she ordered French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, and Turkey Sausage. Did my cousin enjoy her meal? No. Her French Toast looked pretty, but the French Toast was ice cold! Then, my cousin had to wait way too long for the replacement French Toast. Unfortunately, my cousin had finished her Eggs and Sausage during the wait, and consequently was no longer hungry once the waitress returned with it. Now, she had to take her warm French Toast in a "to-go" box to refrigerate as leftovers... BUMMER..... In summation, this is an "meh-okay" restaurant, but I would not go back. My thick and dry pancakes were less than desirable. Sorry, but PANCAKES are what breakfast is all about for me. Additionally, the waitress was really nice, but my cousin's COLD FRENCH TOAST is not working in their favor either. My final determining factor is based upon the "whiskey-strong" coffee. read more

This place definitely fills you up. I went on Mother's Day, so I kind of knew what I was getting into. The place is on the smaller side, so it did take longer to get seated (not to mention there were multiple groups of 5+ waiting to be seated). I was in a group of 4, so it took me around 45-60 minutes to get seated. The waiting area was not big either, so if you're claustrophobic and this place is busy, I suggest maybe waiting outside or just don't go here. The food is very filling, and it's very good. They overfill you with A LOT of food. The staff is VERY friendly, and they continuously come to check up on you to make sure everything is okay with your dining experience. They have many egg related dishes, so if you like eggs this place is for you! The place definitely would've gotten a five if the waiting wasn't too long, but it may just be because of the day I went on. It may be less busy on non holidays, but everyone loves breakfast on a Sunday, so it really depends on how long you're willing to wait for a good dining experience! read more

The prices are still high, they overcharge to use your card to pay, they charge for every ingredients that comes with the meal which is ridiculous and the food was cold and not good. If you want a variety of delicious options from crepes to stuffed French toast then this is the place for you. Everything I ate was worth every calorie. I had the veggie omelette, oatmeal, French toast and the pecan rolls. Everything was fresh and flavorful. You could tell the chef took great care in presentation and giving you a great culinary experience; the whip cream on the French toast was homemade - outstanding! So I went with my bff on a Sunday afternoon and our wait time was an hour but I was in good company so the wait time didn't matter. If your in a hurry this place is not the place for you. I'd say this a solid choice for a breakfast with a lot of twists & options to boot. The menu is quite long with everything from regular menu items to overdressed options as well. The food isn't mind blowing nor life changing but it is good. I opted for the red velvet short stack pancakes & honestly didn't care for the chocolate sauce & would've preferred more cream cheese but it had good flavor. The prices are relatively cheap & it's sort of old school with the payment as you have to take your receipt to the front counter. The hours are extremely limited because they close at 3 p.m. The restaurant is also small from what I observed so at peak hours I imagine the wait can be long.
