They meat was okay, the bbq beef and brisket being my favorite. Dessert was also included! They offer oranges, jell-o & nostalgic strawberry samurai!! Service was good, they came around kind of often to take our order or see if we needed anything else. Place was just your old school restaurant, nothing too fancy but felt comfortable and casual. I had a very short overnight in HNL so my cousin took me here for an AYCE Korean BBQ with the rest of the relatives. It was located in a strip mall and we quickly found a spot right in front. Inside was not very crowded for a Sunday dinner and we joined the others at our tables. Decor was functional but very convenient to have two grills going. The variety of banchan on the table was a lot including the amount in each dish. Also 3 sauces included but more variety can be ordered. AYCE included all the meats and shrimp listed, a variety of vegetables, and ready to eat options like mandoo, japchae and kim chee stew. Drinks were also all you can drink but separately priced. Staff were always quick fill our requests, clear used plates and replace grills. I tried the kalbi, brisket, pork belly and spicy chicken and appreciated the good cuts of meat, not too fatty but very tasty. We wrapped up with bowls of soft serve ice cream brought to our table and the strawberry color was not quite what I expected but smooth and sweet. There was a 2 hour time limit but we had no problem eating our fill before then. 18% gratuity automatically added to our bill but they worked for it. I'd come back again for sure. read more

Went on a weekday for an early dinner before 6pm and thankfully the usual fight for a table didn't exist. Camellia's Yakiniku is a really solid go-to spot when you're craving $30 all-you-can-eat yakiniku. The variety of sides is actually one of the highlights. Along with the meats, you get access to tasty options like pickled cabbage, kimchi, seaweed, and other little banchan-style bites. I also love that it comes with unlimited rice, plus extras like seasoned salad, lettuce wraps, soups, and even things like fried chicken and mandoo. The quality of the meat isn't superb, but honestly it's more than fair for the price point and AYCE format. Service is quick and attentive as always, and the staff frequently changes the grill so your meat doesn't burn -- which I always appreciate. It's an easy weekday dinner spot with pretty good ventilation, but like any good yakiniku place, you'll probably still leave smelling like smoky grilled meat... and honestly that's part of the experience lol. The cherry on top is the pineapple ice cream, which is also unlimited and a perfect sweet finish. I'll definitely keep coming back on days when I have a big appetite and want something convenient and satisfying. Just keep in mind that parking is shared with a bunch of other restaurants in the area, though there is an additional lower lot behind the restaurant. I was expecting that we grab plates and grab the meats, veggies, sides, and desserts. They told me that we could just order and they would bring it to us. Prices did go up looking back on older reviews/pics. Lunch is now $24.95 and kids $15.95. I was happy cause I got my birthday discount of 50% off. Meats are a tad bit limited as expected since it's lunch and the cheaper price compared to the dinner $32.95 price, but for the most part options were still pretty good. We still pounded and enjoyed the options available regardless. The service was quite attentive, quick, and nice. There was only 2 of them, until the boss/manager came in. Maybe it's because we came during a weekday and it wasn't super busy, but they definitely made our experience positive for sure. I mean every time we put the last piece of meat, they came for our next order and never had us waiting more than a few minutes. Kids loved the spicy pork, bbq beef, kaarage chicken, and ice cream. I really enjoyed the brisket, thin pork belly, lettuce wraps (don't have to pay extra), their Kim Chee , and garlic. Probably only con was the slippery floor that my kid was purposefully sliding on it on his chair that I had to wrap my foot around it to keep him in place. Lmao I'm not even sure that they turned on any of their vents tho too. But let's be real, in any yakiniku, I don't think you can escape smelling as fresh as you walked in. I haven't been here in at least 10 years but I was thoroughly surprised with how our experience was. I'm actually really happy you can't just grab your meat. That was one thing I really didn't like about the place before. This place is right next to our house so we really hoped it was good. The meats were flavorful and good quality. I liked that they didn't give too much so we could try different things. the price also included a bunch of appetizers and I'm always here for calamari haha. The soft serve at the end was also delicious. Everything was yummy and the service was really quick. We had our first experience here at Stadium Camellia Restaurant and I have to say it fell a bit short of my expectations. Waters were not refilled during our time there, after cooking the meats we had and eating them we'd be sitting with nothing else to put on the grill for awhile. There were only 2 servers working on a Thursday night, they were moving fast doing the best they could but maybe 1 more server working would have helped lighten the work. The portion sizes for each time they brought the foods were small pieces. I know we're able to order ayce but it's hard to order when we can't flag down wait staff. We're left waiting with the bbq burning. Their dinner prices are pretty average for ayce kbbq but in all honesty you're better off going to other places than this one. Found this place after searching for nearby restaurants to eat from Target and glad we came here. I love Sikdorak but this place might just be even better when it comes to service, food and ambiance. It's all you can eat, dinner price on the weekends. 4 choices per round. The BEST part about it all is the already cooked foods/appetizers such as japchae, chicken karaage, mandoo, calamari etc. the veggies like onion, green onion, mushroom etc. and the desserts like ice cream, pineapple etc. are all included in the all you can eat! Service is good, since it was our first time our server was kind enough to answer any questions we had and accommodated by request of having one of the sauces in a larger bowl to dunk my meats in. Server often comes by to clean up empty plates and asks if we want any more meat for the next round. Meats are thick! We only ordered 8 meats for the 2 rounds. Usually at other all you can eat restaurants we could go for a 3rd round but i do love how thick the meats are! A few of my favorites are the kalbi and brisket. The sauces are tasty, the chilli and garlic sauce mixed with the brown(i don't know the real name of it) sauce makes the meat sooo good. Girls lunch on a Sunday which means full dinner price even though it's lunch time, but hey, it's also BYOB so there's that. Camellia used to be a buffet, but since the 'rona, they've changed the way folks get their food. Order from the server and they will bring it out to you. We got there early and before the church crowd, so service was quite quick. Kalbi, pork jowl, spicy pork, ding ding ding--round one. My lunch partner wanted some vegetables to grill, and I added on some chap chae. Grill change! Kalbi, flap meat, and brisket, more chap chae; ding ding ding--round two. Finished off with some Samurai soft serve and we were happy campers! By the time we finished, that church crowd was rolling in and it was getting busy. Perfect timing! read more

Service is top tier, there were only two servers, they were so attentive I didn't have to look for them, they were always there. Food, still good quality. It's been years since I've been here! For $33 per adult and $18 per kid age 4-13 we enjoyed the menu! They have a variety of fried items to order ans my kids enjoyed the fried calamari and karaage ckn while we waited to get our first of our meats cooked. We also got many ban chan: fish cake, salad, bean sprout, kimchi, daikon, choi sum, from what I remember. Jap chae, fried gyoza, seaweed soup were also ordered as we cooked up kalbi, pork belly, spicy pork belly, brisket, flap meat and bbq ckn. Dessert items included the samurai blue soft serve that was more like milky ice which was nice to balance the palette. My kids also enjoyed the jello and orange slices. Staff was amazing, attentive, changed our grill and gas can as well as filled our water frequently. Also gave my kids lollipops to head home with. Only thing i would deduct a star for the floor and table feeling greasy and slippery. read more

Needed to find a new AYCE kbbq place outside of town, and boy does Stadium Camellia not disappoint! We arrived around 545p on a Sunday and needed to wait about 15 mins for a party of 2. Even with an earlier dinner time, the restaurant was packed! Recommend calling in to make a reservation. On just sitting and waiting, we saw 3 servers who were running around taking orders, serving, replace grills, non-stop. Even the owners pitched in here and there to turn around tables or bring out food ingredients. Roomy space with lots of ceiling vents to make it less smoky. On to the food - the quality of the meats were pretty good. My favorite was the kalbi and garlic pork belly (wowowow was it garlicky , sorry for my breath afterwards lol). The servers weren't shy with the portion sizes or checkin in to see if we wanted to place more orders in. For pupus, we had the karaage, mandoo, japchae, and kimchi stew which were all pretty good and came out nice and hot. Next time I'll try some of the fried calamari, as lots of tables had that. Banchan was placed at the table once seated and were pretty good (and refillable). Be sure to ask for raw garlic and jalapeños to throw on the grill. The closing dessert of samurai blue vanilla ice cream, although super full at that point, was a great close to the meal. What really won me over was how sharp the scissors were to cut up the meats. It's the little things, cause my pet peeve is when you get blunt scissors that you have to hack through and don't cut - these snipped so smoothly. As a con, no single dining is allowed unfortunately. Overall looking forward to our next visit. They have some specials, like birthday, seniors, and military on certain days. read more

This is our go-to place for Korean-style BBQ. Let's start off by saying that my son said that he'd rather come here for Kalbi than go to Ruth's Chris for steak! If you know my son, then you'd know how much he loves his steak and you'd know that loves Ruth's Chris. That's saying a lot for this restaurant! : ). Stadium Camellia is located at Stadium Mall near Aloha Stadium, in the same strip mall as Ice Palace, There's lots of free parking so finding a parking spot is never a problem. The restaurant's decor is simple and clean. We've always received great, attentive service by the waitstaff and the owner. The waitstaff checks to see how we are doing ---- need more grill items, refills our water, asks if we want more side dishes or rice. The owner comes by and checks on customers, and replaces the grilling surface when it starts to get a dark char on it. The star of this restaurant is their food, specifically their Kalbi meat. The Kalbi meat is very soft and their marinade is so tasty. You're allowed to request 4 plates of meat at a time, so we usually order 3 plates of Kalbi and one plate of BBQ chicken. We will order mushrooms and zucchini so that we can feel good and say that we ate our veggies! Ha ha : ). They give you several side dishes as well ---- kimchi, pickled daikon, bean sprouts, fish cake, etc. My son, the picky eater, easily put away 11 strips of Kalbi by himself! And at the end of every meal he looks forward to eating Samurai soft serve. He loves the vanilla (blue) Samurai, but the flavor choice this time was Haupia. ***Note to owners ---- kids love the vanilla (blue) Samurai flavor : ). If you've been to the other Korean BBQ places, you've probably walked out smelling like the smoke from the BBQ grill. Stadium Camellia has lots of ceiling vents to suck up the smoke, so you don't get smoke in your eyes as you're grilling and you don't walk out the door with that overwhelming smell of smoke on your clothes. This place may not be the fanciest Korean BBQ restaurant (definitely don't expect "Ruth's Chris), but you walk out feeling that you got a good product at a good price. The waitstaff are friendly and they do a good job checking on each table to see if you need anything (refilling water, asking if you need more grill items, bringing more rice or side dishes, picking up empty plates) ---- customers (especially Yelp customers! Ha ha) notice all these things. Selfishly, I don't want to recommend this place because I don't want what happened to my favorite saimin place (Shige's) to happen to this place (overrun with customers and have to wait for a table to open up), but this place deserves the two thumbs up and would love more business, especially during the workweek. So, try Stadium Camellia for yourselves and if you like it, tell others about them. And see if you can out eat my son's current record if 11 strips of Kalbi meat. My aunt wanted to eat buffet and knew we have out of town guests visiting. However, my husband and I were looking for a buffet that's budget friendly, preferably in Honolulu and not in Waikīkī. The Lord answered our prayers when I called and spoke with the Owner to make phone reservations. Worked out perfectly since matriarch of the family and my mom score 10% off senior citizen. On reservation day, I called to reduce head count since two other family members couldn't join us. AYCE dinner buffet included banchan of bean sprouts, fish cake, watercress, kim chee, sweet pickled radish, your choice of up to four proteins or could substitute for example: three kalbi and one pork belly, appetizers, beverages, and desserts. Cook your own proteins on the grill. Great thing is the vents will pick up the smoke. At least your hair will not smell smoky. My husband enjoyed kalbi. I immersed myself with beef brisket and pork belly. Everyone in our party said they enjoyed their meal and food was delicious. Everything was served fresh and yummy! Ambiance can be quiet or moderate noise level. Interior colors are contemporary. Loved how Servers went above and beyond for customer service. Servers changed out grills a few times without us even asking. They're quick! I needed a chopstick and our Server already had one in his apron ready to give. When we're ready to order dessert, it came out in a jiffy such as higher quality ice milk that takes longer to melt. We also had extra napkins. Extra water also came in a secured lid plastic container. One of the other Servers also gave my cousin tips on soothing gums and teething regarding her infant. For 7 adults and 1 child, our bill with gratuity, totaled to almost $267. Considering O'ahu prices and inflation, that's amazing! Be forewarned, solo dining is not allowed. I used to come to Camellia's back in the day with my parents when they were fairly new to the Stadium Mall. This spot was pretty good back then, good selection of meats/veggies/banchan, and the pricing wasn't too bad. Since I haven't been in a while, not sure how much has changed, but it's good to see they're still in business, which should mean something positive if you're considering checking them out. If you go to one of the newer places like Gen you're gonna pay an arm and a leg for thin cuts of meat. You might pay more these days at Camellia compared to when I used to go a few years ago, but Camellia is still family owned and operated too. Gotta support these local businesses, Mom & Pop shops are part of our local culture. I gotta check um out again sometime soon with my ohana. read more

Located at the same plaza as Ice Palace, Camellia Buffet is one of the best AYCE joints on the island. Parking can be somewhat tricky sometimes, as the patrons of Ice Palace tend to take over. There is ample overflow parking on the west end of the plaza. First off, this place is BYOB so you can bring your own beers or wines to drink. However, if you want fountain drinks, you may have to buy it here. The Kalbi is possibly our favorite and the banchan is always great.Next up is the spicy pork which packs a ton of flavor. It's a little on the spicier side than most other places, but it's sooooo good! They also off fried chicken, calamari and mandoo too! Kids love their chicken. Service and staff is always great and a very social bunch of guys and gals and fun to talk to. Our water is always full and the grill is changed out promptly. The food is always tasty and very good, the only thing is that twice we went and the Samurai ice cream they have on the menu some how is always out of order, so you are left to have a choice instead of the other items on the dessert list which is orange slices, jello, pineapple! You would think that they would have fixed the machine by now? Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean and also the restrooms. Also looks like the promotion for elderly 90 years old has been stop because all the pictures of the 90 years old and older has been removed and there are no sign mentioned on the promotion they had running from when they opened. It's not the same as the old Camellia Buffet. Now you don't get to grab your own food. You have to order what you cook. Which sucks cause our server didn't even come check up on us until 45 minutes into the lunch. What's worse is that we didn't get all the food we asked for. No refill. No changing the hot cooking plate, Missing plate and utensils, Only 2 strips of Kalbi for a family of 5 to share. On top of that, we were paying dinner prices during lunch. The prices were $15 more than what I paid the last time I was there. The fruit and dessert choices are gone. This visit was a huge disappointment. Not the best father's day lunch I've had. Always loved coming here before the pandemic. We recently visited and it definitely has gotten better. Although you can no longer stand up to get your own vegetables and meats, the staff does give you a good size portion. My favorite meats to order is their kalbi, pork belly and brisket. For the ready to eat food; we like to order the japchae, mandoo, chicken karaage, and calamari. I also saw that they have kimchi stew so I decided to get that as well. For our veggies we ordered onions and mushrooms. The kalbi cooks so nicely on their grill and is very juicy. I also like their pork belly with a pinch of salt. Their ready to eat foods is what always brings me back here. So good and it's unlimited! After a few rounds and getting stuffed; we ended with some soft served samurai ice cream. They had the vanilla flavor and it was so nice after eating all those meats and sides. Their new menu is really helpful and they added a lot of new things. It's always a party when my family and I go out for dinner. Honestly, they (my brother's and father) are the entertainment for a crowd. We dish out great vibes and almost exclusively receive in return. So I have to say, our service was phenomenal. We came in as a party of 12 and they were easily able to accommodate us with a long table. The food just kept coming, never were we with an empty table and the burners were always full with something cooking. The calamari was so delicious, and all the meats were perfectly seasoned. There were 4 kids in total with us and the patience the server had with us was astounding. Food dropped on the floor and I was doing my best to pick it up as fast as I could, the server was like... sis, just eat. They even miraculously got the ice cream machine to work and didn't get upset with us for pouring our own ice cream when clearly the sign said employee use only. (wheph I thought we were going to get kicked out for that). We were cooking nonstop. The HVAC system isn't as spectacular so we had to crack open the side door to get some air moving around. Let's just say, five hungry men came hungry and left full. Me and the girls enjoyed every bit of it.
