This place is OKAY. Nothing more, nothing less. The wait staff were rude. They seemed more interested in talking among themselves than helping us. They never checked on us and had to seek them out to get a refill of water. Onto the food! We had the basket of fries with a half cheese/ half pepperoni pizza. The pizza tasted great, however, it was sooooo greasy that even though you enjoyed it at the moment, you leave regretting it due to a sure upset tummy. This is definitely becoming a quick favorite of mine. The wings are pretty damn good (I'm from Buffalo so I think this holds some weight) and are a huge improvement over what other eateries have tried to pass off as wings around here. The pizza, while not NY style, is probably some of the best that the area has to offer. On Monday's and Tuesday's you get half off your pizza order if everyone orders a beverage. DEFINITELY worth it. My only complaint is the parking, which is limited. There is the main lot in front of the building, some extra parking spaces behind the Laundromat next to it, or park in the Glenmont metro garage. This is my local pub. Usually see friends I know and like they are always trying to improve their dishes. The pizza here is so good!! Half price pizza nights are Monday and Tuesday with the purchase of a beverage. They have lots of TV's for sports games. Wednesday is 1/2 price burgers and 1/2 price bottles of wine. Great HH and a large dining area for groups. Outside patio in the warmer months to sit outside. I like they have some good wines (not higher end) and fair prices. Decided to pop in for some really good pizza and unexpectedly went through some sort of time warp. We were seated in a densely populated section of the Resturant and was prepared for the expected delay. Due to the popularity of the Resturant I knew I would have to wait on service and I was OK WITH IT. WITH THIS IN MIND, I told my server, Amy (I believe that was her name) that I would be happy to get a beverage from the bar and would be right back to place my pizza order. When she took this as an insult to her role as my server and called the manager over, I was completely caught off guard. The manager exchanged words with her at the beverage counter and from what I could infer, she flat out refused to serve us. She told the manager she would not take our order and excused herself from her responsibilities to us as paying customers. She was handling the white customers just fine and it was hard to ignore the fact that we were the only black patrons in her sections of several white customers. I also could not help but draw the conclusion that it had something to do with us being African American! She pre judged us and acted in a discriminatory manner. I do plan to go back but will definitely stay away from servers who discriminate and seem to have a hard time dealing with high volume Resturant atmospheres. The manager accused me of twisting thing, however, I am certain he is unable to understand what implicit bias feels like, so unfortunately, he should work harder to correct these types of things rather than Covering our $15.00 tab. read more

This was my first and last time trying this place out. I'll start off by saying the pizza was definitely very good. The issue that i had was with the customer service of the bartender on duty. I can't say why but I'm absolutely positive that i was not given the same level of customer service as some of the other patrons. When i sat down and she finally came over to me i wasn't greeted, i asked about specials and was immediately given attitude. I witnessed other patrons who came in after me not receive the same treatment. No clue as to why. When it was all said and done i ordered some food to go and one last round. When i made that order i asked for the check. The food comes out then about 10 mins or so goes by and she comes over to me "did you want the check ?" I'm pretty sure i asked for the check when i placed the order also if I'm placing a to go order that means that I'm done for the day. 3 1/2 stars. Been here a couple times with friends who live closeby. It is definitely has that sort of divey neighborhood restaurant/bar vibe. Not like a Matchbox type decor place. Their kitchen opens late, which is a good thing, as my friends and I were starving around midnight and had to get their pizza. Their pizza is just great. Reminds me of the old White Flint Eatery, Italiano, where they made tray size pizzas as well as Ledos pizza. I think this place has better pizza than Ledos which is saying a lot. Haven't tried anything else here but their pizza. I've been here for drinks at their bar too and the prices are just right. They even have karaoke night (I think it's on Wednesdays). So glad there are still places like these still around! One note, when dining though, whenever someone opens that outside patio, you are just engulfed with cigarette smoke, so make sure you sit somewhere far away from that door. read more

First time customer. Stopped from out of state due to it's proximity to a Metro stop. Pros: I sat at the bar and found Erin and Brian to be friendly and attentive. The draft beer was COLD, and the A/C was working on a hot day. Several TV's along the bar. The free wi-fi worked well too. Very diverse clientele. Appropriate given their name. Cons: Quality control is lacking. In my time at the bar I saw one small pizza returned because it was too watery. The small pizza the guy next to me ordered stank because is was so burned, yet he ate it! Also, a woman returned to the bar the serving plates her party of ten had received because at least 1/2 were still covered in the grime from the last use. Luckily my medium pizza was good. Neutral: I would NOT consider the very narrow men's room to be handicapped accessible. A wheelchair could not fit through the narrow door entrance. Nice little neighborhood sports bar next to the Metro garage. The dining room is lined with TVs and (duh) stained glass. Very prompt and cordial service. The signature pizza has pluses and minuses. The crust is thin and crackery, somewhat like Domino's, with tangy sauce and plenty of real cheese and generous toppings. Small was a 12" round that I could barely finish, and a deal since Tuesday is a 1/2 price day. I'll probably hit them again when I'm in the neighborhood, but wouldn't make a special trip. read more

I love the atmosphere of the place and what it's going for, the servers are amazing, and the drinks are cheap and plentiful. However the food is mediocre if not bad. I was informed this is the closest thing to Detroit-style pizza in my neck of the woods and everyone was mowing down on massive pizzas next to us so it sounded like a good deal (especially because pizza's half price on Monday and Tuesday!) I went for a "supreme / combo" style pizza because I like to pretend I'm getting my veggies while I'm clogging my arteries with my favorite nitrate-addled meat, pepperoni. The crust on their pizza is abysmal. It's thin, doughy, bland, and and on par with the crusts on the one dollar Celeste pizzas. I genuinely believe the crust is the most important part of a pizza and this sad playdoh tasting crust proved my point- it collapsed under the weight of the toppings and was a wet, mooshy, sloppy experience. Maybe I ordered too many toppings, but a "supreme" is such a default pizza topping choice it shouldn't have been butchered this badly. Second, they use canned mushrooms for the toppings which is an absolute no. This place is packed and the apps are the prices of entrees, you can afford sliced fresh mushrooms yo. It was like eating snails. Salads are pricy and fixed directly from the open salad bar when you order a "garden salad"- iceberg topped with cherry tomatoes, thick sliced cukes and thick sliced bell pepper. It's not stale but it's ponderosa quality ingredients. The apps hover around 8-10 dollars as well. I wouldn't mind coming back for drinks,joining trivia night, or have a go at the ping pong machine but the parking situation also would make me think twice about choosing SGP. The lot is PACKED with cars queuing up on the main roadway (very dangerous and inconsiderate by the way!) so we had to pay five bucks to park at the metro. I do feel like I'm being unnecessarily harsh because it serves it's main function as a local watering hole well (that would be 5/5) but would feel dishonest rating a food establishment any higher with such sad pizza. read more

This establishment is not ADA compliant. There is no accessible parking for handicap. Someone in a wheelchair can not get into the building nor move around once inside with ease. First impression gone wrong. The entire establishment smelled like smoke. When we first arrived, we had to squeeze ourselves into the doorway, so we were not blocking the entrance. We were sat by a nice lady who we later found out, was a regular customer vs staff. A friend ordered the crab pretzel, wanted to exchange her dish for something else and was not given the opportunity. The server, I believe his name was "Jonathan" used inappropriate language directed at her. It's one thing to agree with how bad something is, but to use foul language was off putting. Overall, the pub seems to have accustom itself with regulars. A friend tried to order a drink at the bar, had success, but when he sat down at a table, he didn't continue to receive service. Stained Glass went above and beyond with a situation today. I only had a short period of time to pick up lunch on my break. After I picked up the food and got back to my office I realized the order was completely wrong. I called back letting them know they got my order wrong. Before I could even explain to them that I couldn't really come back- Lauren, if I am not mistaken offered to deliver the correct order. (even though they typically don't offer delivery) Within 10 minutes of the phone call she had my order at the door with a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. She was very friendly and professional. We have been ordering the pizza from Stained Glass Pub in Glenmont for well over 10 years and the pizza was always consistently excellent, until last night. The pizza was terrible. The crust was puffy (not the usual flaky crust), almost no sauce (extremely dry), and the toppings we ordered were practically non-existent. Since we haven't ordered for several months, I don't know if it was just a bad night, or if this is the new normal. They consider it 4 toppings and charge you for such. I wouldn't have minded paying for 4 toppings if the halves had as much topping as a whole pizza.....but they didn't.
