I would like to relay a incident that occurred yesterday September 6th at your Clackamas Oregon Stanfords location. My wife and I and a another couple met for dinner around 5:30 PM. To plan our 15 day cruise to Hawaii. First I want to state the server was good, but my issues were around the food prep and your manager on duty. We each ordered our meals with a bake potato. They came cold and not completely cooked. I then got the attention of what I at first thought was another server and she said she would get another and we received no response to our request to just simply microwave them. About 30 minutes later nothing, we had basically completed our meals. I walked out front to talk with the manager and then found out it was the same woman I had talked with earlier. I stated this was not acceptable for your restaurant chain. She stated she had gone to the kitchen and apparently had discovered the baked potatoes were served prior to being fully cooked. which of course brings up why did they leave the kitchen at that time and why not then offer an option prior to serving the meals. The fact that she had not followed up with her guests as a manager is unacceptable and demonstrated a lack of leadership. It appears she was reluctant to follow up with her guests. She never came to the table. What I like about Claim Jumber and others is that their Management Team often walks through and asks how the meal is? The waitress did bring the bill and apologized and indicated that they had reduced the bill $15 per couple. I am writing as you need to know what happened in your place of business and its not about the money and its not about that mistakes can occur, they do! Customer advocacy is what happens when they do. I'm sorry to say you failed yesterday. I always appreciated feedback from my customers and having the opportunity solve the problem. read more

Went there with a big group for dinner on St. Paddy's day. We sat in the back, which is what we requested, as it was a little quieter. Everything was great. The service was top notch, even though they were super busy. All of the food was great, from the appetizers to the yummy desserts. Definitely will return. read more

I had the Chicken Cobb Salad. It was the worst I've ever had. Basically, it was a huge platter of crinkled lettuce with two slices of egg, a small amount of bacon pieces on one end, two little slices of avocado, some cherry tomatoes, a tiny container of blue cheese bits, four slices of cold, dry chicken and dressing on the side. We sat in the restaurant area and were greeted very warmly. Then the server comes to take our order and is also warm and fun. So I ask if I can speak to her manager (I wanted to pass on our positive experience) and it is the very nice person who seated us. My Brother and I went for Thanksgiving day dinner. A "Traditional Turkey" dinner that is advertised should be palatable. Along with Salmon Oscar that my brother ate 1/3 of that was equally as bad. VERY disappointed with our service this evening. Coming for the purpose of happy hour, we went into the bar. I gave my passport card - what I use for everything requiring an ID and I don't have any other form of ID currently, and they would not accept it because they couldn't "verify" it and people "fake them all the time" according to the manager (Really? Passport cards?). They misplaced their ID book so they would not allow me to sit in the bar. I am 22 years old and have been eating there for 1 1/2 years using that SAME passport card to eat and drink in the bar. I'm so upset. We left and ate at Red Robin, spending more than we wanted to that evening as we had originally planned to pay happy hour prices. We also kept our babysitter a little longer due to the extra time it took with the Stanford's mishap (which should NOT have taken so much time). I hope in the future, this won't happen again not only for myself, but for other customers. Nicola was extremely kind and felt the same frustration I felt and gave me some info and told me she will do something to make our visit pleasant next time, whether it be comping part of our meal, etc. read more

This is my first time at Stanford's. The wait was ridiculous. I ordered the Salmon and stressed that I liked my salmon under cooked. She said, "No problem, we cook the salmon medium rare." Finally the food comes after my father went to ask. Guess they needed the extra time to cook it like a brick. Worst salmon I've ever had! Sent it back. By the time it came back the rest of the table was done eating. The salmon was decent the second time around, the asparagus was rough and chewy. They obviously don't know how to prep the asparagus properly. For a $30 buck meal, I definitely could have cooked salmon, asparagus and rice much better. I will not be back! read more

Met friends here for happy hour tonight. It was packed. We were the first ones on the list to get in and Julianna (sp) checked out the tables and indicated that one was opening soon. It did! Sat in the bar with my wife. The booth was dirty, bartender hollered over, it's ok, the people left without ordering anything but water. This should have told us something was wrong. A scowling bartender finally came over with menu's 10 minutes later we got our drinks. But she said she'd be right back to take our order. Another 10 minutes and we were able to order. This whole time 2 waitresses and the bartender were standing at the bar complaining about work and other staff. Food was good, Drinks were good. Although it was overpriced, all in all food and drink ok. But service was as bas as I have ever seen. Will not go back. read more

Unfortunately the service at Stanford's is not good... My wife and I came in during Happy Hour and it was quite slow. We sat up front for over ten minutes while the manager, instead of seating us, told us to wait, fiddled with menus and then took a phone call. The food was good. They were busy but we got seated right away. 15 minutes later I had to stop a staff member to ask for water. She was surprised we hadn't been served. She had passed our table at least three times before I flagged her down. Turns out we were seated in her section and she was not notified. You would think she could have made an assumption when people are sitting in your section without any drinks. We ordered about 45 minutes later we got our cold food. I ordered ahi tuna which is usually barely warm but my rice was cold and so were my sisters meals that were suppose to be hot. My sister went to talk with the hostess about our food not arriving and another person came from the same section with the same complaint. No apology or offered discount. Not going back to that location. Loyd center location has service. Funny thing was we left another restaurant because we had to wait an hour to be seated. Guess we should have staid there. read more

Not only is the food here really just adequate and frankly overpriced, but the customer service is abysmal. I don't eat at Stanford's anymore for those reasons but for some reason my parents still do and decided to go there for their anniversary. I called to arrange a bottle of wine for their table and was told by the "manager" that it was against the law for them to take a credit card over the phone. Um what? So I tried to clarify if that was because I was trying to purchase wine and if that was the case I would just cover another part of the meal and she doubled down with her nonsense and told me they couldn't take my credit card by phone because of, and I quote, "the law and stuff". Stanford's is new to me. My first time ever going there was a couple months ago and I've probably been back 5 times since. I love their Steak and the toppings, the mushrooms especially. Overall most of my experience has been great. But there is one female waitress who is super judgemental and rude, making faces and noises because she thinks your friend is ordering too much food. It was my birthday, no less, and I had changed my mind on another place to eat, to unfortunately come to Clackamas Stanfords. At first, a server tried to give us a neighboring diners meal. When we still had menus on our table. Duh. Then we waited a good 20 to 25 minutes in betweeen our salad and entrees. I asked about the long ticket time, and the server told me they were doing my carmelized onions I asked for. Really, onions? My parents Chicken Strips were dry. None of us ate more than a 3rd of our meal. I felt I had to apologize to my parents for asking to take me there. They gave us a $10 coupon towards our next meal. We left that on the table. We will never be back. They didn't even ask how I wanted my burger cooked. And for an $18 "Kobe" burger, which it is not . It kinda sucked. The manager rolled her eyes at me at the mention of "Kobe". False advertising, she proudly gave. Because Kobe is illegal in the USA. Alot of money for VERY dissapointing experience, and sub par food. read more

Used to love coming here, especially during happy hour, it used to be my go-to place for a lunch. Been here at least 4 times within the last year, but as you know, 1 bad day of service can ruin everything. My boyfriend and I came here to have a nice lunch on a work day, and decided to sit outside on an 80 degree sunny Thursday. Unfortunately, we had the horrible luck of getting Stacie S as the server, who asked us if we were both 21, as it is considered the bar area (which is understandable.) However, this was her 3rd time being my server within the last year, and she ID'ed me, even though she had recognized me coming in before. I asked her if she remembered me, to which she promptly replied "nope, I don't." Whatever, I shrugged it off. My boyfriend and I ordered a lentil soup and a half chicken club sandwich, a panko crusted chicken, and a few lavender cosmos. Everything was MEDIOCRE. Stacie brought out the food quickly, which I appreciated, but when it came time for checking in on us, or bringing us the check, she was nowhere to be seen. After about 20 minutes of waiting for the check to arrive, we finally got up and went and paid it ourselves to check out. Worst lunch experience I've ever had. My office and I often used to have lunch here, but I'm going to start suggesting elsewhere. If you decide you'd like to pay full price for the mediocre American dishes, at least come on a day where the servers are friendly & professional. If you get so unlucky as to receive Stacie as a server, definitely request someone else, or you'll end up considering a negative review of a place that's supposed to be classy and professional. read more

The food there was decent. There are only a few specific items on the menu that I know are good quality. I would recommend the crème brûlée . My major problem that I had with this place is that it seems that all of the staff are more concerned with their own conversations rather than having one with their clientele. As soon as the manager walked into the room everyone walked away from each other and started doing work things pretending that that's what they were doing all along . So it was an odd daycare moment . I have my specialty drink that is so delicious and since it's not on their menu they decided to make up their own cost for it which I don't mind. However it was way overpriced as it was and then the second time I go back there to the same bartender day raised it and also decided to not make me aware until I was given the bill about the recent cost . What we thought was going to be around a $60 a meal turned into over 100! You can say that maybe were harsh or have higher expectations , but keep in mind as well that the person that tagged along with us had this happen to them to . This place just like all of garden it has just gone downhill . At least all gardens Caesar salad is good and they also offer appetizers when they charge up the butt . read more

The food is always good but the service is awful. I've been there when they are busy and slow and the service is consistent, if nothing - consistently poor. Not matter how busy they are, we are seated and wait. I suggest you order your apps and entrees with your drink order (you'll have time to decide!) or you will wait a lot longer. Sip sparingly - Drinks aren't refilled often if at all. I actually walked into the bar and asked the bartender for a refill on our waters. I've been to several Stanfords and this place is not a good representation of the rest. The hostesses are pleasant and the atmosphere compliments the food - I wish the service did. Do yourself a favor and drive to Lake O or even the airport! The Mac and cheese is awesome. If not for the food, I would give it a one based on the service (or lack of). read more

A completely disappointing experience! We made reservations two weeks early for 5:30 PM on Valentine's Day. We looked at the Valentine's Day specials online just for fun, and pretty much had it narrowed down. We were excited to spend a quiet couple of hours together with a nice meal. On the plus side, the ambiance was intimate and nice and our waitress was very attentive. We were presented the regular menus, and we had to ask for the menu of Valentine's Day specials. She said they had pulled the menu as they were out of most of the items on the menu. She said they had 8 steak and lobster left, and she could put a hold on one of them. She also said that they were making a new batch of sauce for the sirloin tips. We wanted to order the top sirloin off the regular menu, but they were out of that as well. We ordered the walnut brie as an appetizer and waited. The waitress came back to tell us the steak and lobster were out, even though no one came in behind us and there were several empty tables. When our brie arrived, it was barely warm. There was hardly enough time to enjoy the brie when our meals arrived. The filet mignon was so salty, we could hardly touch it. The potatoes were just warm, and the broccoli spears were under-cooked and just warm. On the opposite, the tri-tips were fatty and chewy, the sauce and the broccoli lukewarm, and the sauce was very bland, and barely edible without salt. We were so disappointed we just wanted to go home, and ordered desert to go. My partner said he was not in the mood to complain, and that we would just use a yelp review later. What a waste of $100 meal. It was a massive sign of poor planning and management to be out of most of the specials by the normal dining hour. We did wonder if the experience may have been different if we had gone to a Stanford's closer to Portland. I won't be going back to this restaurant anytime soon. read more

Tried them for the first time last night, will never go back! Meat was VERY fatty! They bring the steak up to weight by throwing BIG chunks of fat on the plate, GROSS! I went in her this evening to celebrate my birthday with my two daughters. The hostess, a Young blonde woman was extremely rude and ingenuine. She looked at my daughters and asked if we needed kids menus. I said yes. She then looked at another woman for several seconds and then looked back at my kids and then me and asked "you only need one, right?". I said sure but I knew she thought my oldest daughter was too old for a kids menu. She just turned 12 but that's really none of her business anyway. So this woman then seated us and was still being quite rude, no smile, no personality, wouldn't look me in the eye. As we sat there I just felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. My daughters said they didn't like anything on the menu. It was very hot in the restaurant as well. We decided to leave. Disappointing. I've been to several Stanford locations, but Clackamas is def my favorite! The waitstaff are always great and I never felt rushed to leave, even after hours. Food, like other locations are yummy. Great happy hour menu and drinks are good. Another reason why I prefer this location over the Lloyd Center one is that it isn't as crowded. I've never been here but I pass by this restaurant each time I go to Sushiland next door. It was a special occasion for my dad who wanted a burger but my sister is a vegetarian. I wanted a salad. So Stanfords was close and had a variety of choices. Their kitchen accommodated my dad's aversion to spices in his burger. I ordered a blackened salmon with caesar salad. The salad was drenched with dressing and the salmon overly seasoned with paprika, I think. I did eat all of it because I paid $16.95 for it. My vegetarian sister ordered the fajita and they subbed portabella mushrooms for the meat. She ate only the beans and rice that came with it. I ate her leftovers and it, too, was overly seasoned. My other sister ordered the surf n turf burger and she being a foodie did not find it super special. I didn't think the menu was overpriced and I'd go back if the food was less saturated with seasonings. read more

With lots of competition in the area I made the mistake of choosing Stanford's. Horrible food. Started off with the onion rings, what a hard shell salty horrible tasting rings. The worst I have ever had. The four of us all agreed. Thick crusty, I can still feel that taste in my mouth and it's been 24 hours. Also started off with the calamari, same greasy horrible taste. I had the Caesars salad and was drenched with dressing, a soggy mess. I had the salmon main dish and my wife had the chicken pasta dish thinking that we would be safe with these dishes but no. I took two bites and took the rest home to try and repurpose. Way toooo salty both our dishes and my salmon was dry. My wife cooked it up tonight by adding milk, was a little better. What a waste of time, we could of went to another restaurant within a mile, there are plenty in that clackamas shopping area, trust me. IF you want a nice dinner and expect to pay for quality, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I could name a few here, claim jumpers comes to mind. read more

Haven't been there in several years and that was for lunch which was ok, not great. This time we went early on a Sunday evening. Made reservations and were seated right away. Service started out great, we placed our order, got our drinks, and it seemed we waited quite a while for the salad. That showed up and was very good. Again waited quite a while for our entree, Were asked about bar drink refills but never had our water refilled. Finally got our entree. The steak and my prime rib were very good and cooked just right. My husband's garlic mashed potatoes were blah. My looooong stalks of broccoli were cooked on the grill. They looked ok but I couldn't cut the stalks with my knife and the florets were very sparse and also hard to cut. I skipped the potatoes for just veggies and really thought a $30 prime rib deserved more than very cheap and hard to cut broccoli. A few steamed mixed veggies would have been nice and not expensive if they were trying to cut corners. Anyway, I gave it 3 stars because the meat and dessert were very good and the wait staff was very friendly and seemed competent if a bit slow. read more

Stanford's has a great Happy Hour but the meal we had at the restaurant was very disappointing. My fiancee and I both had the flat iron steak special this evening and when the meal arrived at our table we both had the same reaction " this is what you get for $24.99". What we received was the smallest portion of steak that I have ever received at a restaurant. We received what must have been 2-3 ounces of steak (4 pieces 1/4" thick) , a reasonable portion of prawns and a reasonable portion of rice. The flavor was delicious but I cant get past what was at best a $15.00 plate. I have no problem paying for a good meal but this was over priced on any day at any restaurant. We each had the steak special, we had a appetizer and 2 drinks and with a tip it was $100.00 which is ridiculous for what we received. We have been coming to Stanford's for many years but this will be our last visit except to visit the bar. read more

Our waiter was nice and the only reason I'm giving two stars. We come on mother's day and had to wait over an hour before anyone realized our food hadn't come. We figured it was just backed up and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. 30 minutes later our food arrives. My father and my steaks were dry and over cooked, vegetables were cold an dried out (obviously been sitting under the heat lamp for a long time) and mashed potatoes were terrible. My fiancés linguini were painfully dry and only tasted of the salt she put on it (we returned the dish and simply cancelled the order). My grandmothers fish was not blackened but severely burnt. We sent it back only to have it return 40 minutes later, after the waiter gave us the check (note: we hadn't requested it at this point but he brought our check and 10 minutes later brought my grandmother's dish out). My friend and I went to happy hour at Stanfords in Clackamas last Wednesday and had a great experience. They offer 1/2 off bottles of wine all day every Wednesday and the happy hour food was excellent. I felt that the prices were great and they have a wide variety of different choices. We had such a wonderful experience!!! The food was delicious, and our server was divine. We had such a wonderful time dining on the patio, where the atmosphere was so relaxing. Our server had the warmest smile, and answered all of our questions about dishes and desserts with ease. We never had to wait for a single thing (except the table as it was Mother's Day so this was expected). I would highly recommend it!
