Over the weekend my landlord decided to have the carpet in his room, the living room and my roommates room cleaned, my room wasn't being done. The carpet cleaner opens my bedroom door, without knocking and i was totally undressed..i was livid. Then I tell my roommate about it and he tells me the guy also walked in on him as he was finishing using the bathroom. First of all, if you opened a closed door and walked in on someone once, why would you proceed to do it again?? Why are you opening random doors without knocking in rooms you aren't cleaning?? What's worse is I called to speak to a manager about it and was told I would get a call about my complaint and I never did. So apparently it is ok for their people to invade people's privacy. I'm a female in my private space, what was the purpose of opening my bedroom door?? I'll never know... but one thing is for sure they haven't heard the last of it. And for anyone that doesn't know this here is a tip : When you are in someone else's home, even if you're there to do a job IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED, KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING.. honestly doesn't feel like something I should have to explain. read more

I had almost given up hope of ever having my gray color carpet ever looking clean again until Chris and Miles, the two Stanley Steemer carpet technicians, showed up. I was very impressed by their professionalism and knowledge of cleaning processes and spot removers. They cleaned my carpet very quickly and thoroughly removing all of the old embedded stains that I thought would never come out. I have allergies, and I never was affected by the cleaning products they used to clean my carpet. I never felt pressured in buying any added services; everything was explained to me very clearly. I was extremely expressed how Chris and Miles made my anxiety disappear about having my carpet cleaned because I was so concerned about having to deal with harsh chemicals and a wet soggy carpet. Stanley Steemer's cleaning products never irritated my eyes or breathing, and my carpet dried very quickly. Immediately, I called family and friends to highly recommend Stanley Steemer. This was the worst cleaning I ever had. Was going to have surgery the next day so I wanted to have a clean carpet. I left with the carpet cleaner only to come home to a sopping wet carpet. Had to have a friend come over and help me reclamation it because it smelled of mildew and didn't look clean. When I first scheduled my cleaning, I wanted to give Stanley Steemer a good review. It was SO easy to book the appointment, get the pricing, and pick what I wanted to have done. The 2 guys were even here 15 minutes into the time window they give. This is where it turned sour. The "technician" told me that he was going to have to charge me more because my couch was a sectional; there is no option for a sectional on their website. The ultimate bait and switch. If a company charges a higher amount for a sectional, shouldn't that be listed? I don't think it's too difficult to add ONE more option on your website. There is no disclaimer either. When I called to complain about the extra charge, Georgia was very ude on the phone and tried to make excuses instead of being apologetic. She asked to speak to the technician, and they decided to give me a "discount". They charged me the full amount of a cleaning and deodorizer and only added $6 to my total. However they didn't deodorize my couch! So I basically paid what they wanted me to pay. There were still stains on my couch when they left, which he didnt mention to me BEFORE cleaning that there may be "permanent stains". So not only did they charge me an amount that was more than they originally quoted me, but my couch still has stains on it. I'm so annoyed with the way this was handled. I will never use stanley steemer again. read more

I have a 25+ year old, non-stain resistant carpet with many permanent pet and coffee stains. Stanley Steemer always does a great job cleaning my carpet and they never pressure me to get additional services I don't want. *Permanent stains can never be completely removed and it's unrealistic to have that expectation. They can, however, be improved. My tech, Edgar, was very friendly and met all of my requests. read more

My husband and I have been using Stanley Steemer carpet cleaner service for a couple years now and I love the way our carpet looks and feels after they suck the dirt off the rugs. Our carpet never feels wet after they clean it, just a tad bit damp and it usually dries up within 5 hours. The service men are always on time, they are very helpful, they move large furniture items out of their way so that they can get as much carpet as possible. Two days ago my kitchen door was accidentely jammed I believe by their machine. I called Stanley Steemer customer service and they had someone come out the very next day to look at it, and fixed it! The person they sent was the manager, Manuel. He came in, fixed my door and apologized for the inconvenience. I call him Handy Manny, like the cartoon. Very nice guy. The person that came to clean the carpet was Tyler and Roger, both really nice guys too. Very experienced, they did a wonderful job. I have never had any issues with this company and everyone of my services with them has been great. In regards to upselling products, yes, they are guilty of that, but it's not a crime. I wouldn't call it upselling, more like suggestions. A few times they suggested scotch guard, or deordorizing, which cost a little extra. I purchased them because I simply forgot they had these other services available, so I'm glad they asked/suggested it. If you don't want the upsells, just say no. Times are tough and I'm sure every other business out there is upselling and making suggestions too. Don't give someone a negative point just because they are trying to upsell. It's not a crime and it's not rude, it's a business! That's what they are suppose to do. They don't harrass or forch the issue, they simply just ask. Rate the actual service, give an overall rating. Dishonest service technicians charged us 45 dollars for "scotch guard' when the cleaning was supposed to be free. We never approved the charge but when my wife turned her back the guy says "oh I already started". We paid them and they ended up refunding half the charge but this was bs and I would not trust this company. read more

The last time I used this service they left the carpet soaking wet. It took almost two weeks to dry and by then it left an odor. I rented one from home depot and went over the carpets myself just to remove the smell. read more

Stanley Steemer Azusa, Ca They Waste Your Time!!! Instead of filling me in over the phone they insisted on giving me an onsite estimate to strip and wax a small kitchen/laundry room & bathroom. When the guy came out I was told there was a minimum charge for each service and that it doesn't matter if I was also getting the carpets or other work done at the same time. I scheduled the strip & wax and carpet cleaning for the following Saturday. The carpet cleaners showed up and the Strip and wax guys did not. I had to call them, to be told the guy called in sick and they would have to reschedule for the following Monday. I asked them to give me a discount for the the inconvenience and they agreed to give me a slight discount for the strip and wax on Monday. I was given a window of time for their arrival from 2 to 4 pm. on Monday. They showed up at 4:30 pm. The workers told me I would have to repaint the base molding after they cleaned my floors because their equipment would scuff off the paint. I asked them why they didn't tape off the floorboards. They hadn't thought of that and would have to call their supervisor and have someone bring the tape to them. After another half an hour the supervisor calls them and tells them to pick up tape at a place they have a account with about 7 miles away. When they left I called the supervisor, he refused to discount the service further because I had already been offered slight discount. Meanwhile the the worker returned and said they couldn't get the tape and were told not to do the job by the supervisor I had just spoken with. I guess he showed me. The workers apologized and told me that management had actually screwed up the scheduling for the strip and wax an Saturday and it could have been done then. Good luck using these people. The carpet cleaning turned out nice, but that's about it. They wasted hours of my time that I'll never get back and they made it clear that they just don't care. read more

Horrible customer service. I had technicians come out to do a carpet cleaning and tile and grout cleaning. I was moving in to a new condo, so trusted they would take care of everything. The carpet was cleaned fine but they did not do a thorough cleaning on the tile and grout. There was visible mold throughout the shower where they were supposed to clean. Mind you- the service is not inexpensive. It is $150 to clean a shower/ sink. They did a haphazard job and left everything as is. When I called back to discuss with the manager, he avoided all calls and was "in a meeting" the last 6 times I called. Completely unacceptable service and I will never use them again. Eugene Hernandez is the manager that never returned phone calls and avoided all calls. I called three consecutive days and he didn't respond to anything. I would expect better cleaning and customer service from a reputable brand. Will not use them again. They are supposed to come today to redo everything but unsure if they will show up. Extremely shady that they charged for the service and would avoid calls to have a technician come out and redo the work. Not to be trusted. read more

I called this company after seeing an ad for a $99.00 two room offer. BTW, this is my first ever Yelp review. Anyway I asked where they are located and he said, "Azusa." I told him I was calling about the two room special and told him I only Have two area rugs made out of low cut commercial carpeting. He gave me a price of over $200.00. When I asked what happened to the $99 special he told me area rugs are much more delicate and harder to clean blah, blah, blah. I asked him to please not lie to me as I've been in the carpet business for 30 years, and I know something about carpeting. He said I did not qualify for the special. This is my first Yelp review and I regret that it's not a positive one. I typically try to give companies the benefit of the doubt, but I experienced several things that were dissatisfying with Stanley Steemer, and felt this review was warranted. I made an appointment online for a sofa cleaning and received two email confirmations for the appointment. When I called the 1-800 number to cancel the duplicate appointment I was told the price listed online wouldn't be accurate because my sofa is leather. While a little frustrated that this wasn't articulated online, I was comfortable keeping the appointment. The representative on the phone told me the technicians would first give me an estimate for the costs before proceeding with the cleaning, but confirmed that they would clean same-day if I was happy with the pricing. She also said I'd receive a call about 20 minutes before the technicians arrived, which I appreciated, just in case I was in the shower or at the coffee shop down the street when the technicians arrived. I received a reminder phone call the day before the appointment but on the day of, I never got a call letting me know that they were on their way, and of course I has just stepped out to grab a coffee. I hustled back after calling to tell them I'd be right back, and caught the technicians before they left. Once inside, the technician said they he'd only be giving me an estimate today and not doing a cleaning. I asked him to confirm with his dispatcher because I had confirmed this when I booked the appointment. His records didn't note anything from my call and he wasn't able to locate a colleague with the leather cleaning solutions nearby. When I called to discuss my dissatisfaction, the gentlemen on the phone was apologetic but didn't offer me much relief. He said I could get a discount if I rebooked but couldn't assist in getting me an appointment at a convenient time anytime soon. I already missed work today for this first appointment - I can't afford to do so another day. He kept apologizing for the mix-up but at the end of the day, he didn't try to remedy the situation. Had they truly cared about rectifying this, they could have picked up solution and returned today, or squeezed me in another time in the coming days. read more

The team that came out did the wood floors and the tile. I loved how they did not say the tile grout would be as good as new but were honest about how it would look. Had the tile and wood cleaned and sealed. Price for both was reasonable and going forward hoping to do on a yearly or two year basis! We did not do carpet because the carpet is new. I've had work done from them a few times. One of the times it was from Miguel And I was very pleased with his work. He left my carpet and sofas spotless. He also cleaned my cushions which I didnt even think he was going to clean, I was just going to put them in the washer, he saved me time with that! He also left the carpet and sofas pretty much almost dry! Which is a big deal since I have kids running around my house. I was not aware that they cleaned air ducts as well until he gave me some helpful information. My husband and I are very satisfied with the ending result, him and his partner did a great job, very professional and curtious. I will request Miguel next time and I certainly recommend him. I have used Stanley Steemer almost every 6 months for the last 3ish years with no issues. Today we had a tech come into our home and spend a large amount of time in our sons room - which is quite small. So I went and started to review the nest camera footage. He was on his personal phone texting, checking himself out in the mirror looking himself up and down and talking to himself saying "ni*gers be playing ni*gers be playing" I have all the video saved and documented. I could not believe what he was saying and doing in my childs room, while my child was also home. I have called and made a complaint and was assured it would be addressed. We have used Stanley Steemer a few times now. We have had nothing but great results and service. They were good with moving our furniture around and protecting things. Carpet takes a few hours to dry but the carpets are much cleaner than with other methods we have tried. We've never had our air duct and vents cleaned before in our central AC/heater unit. Recently my daughter's nasal allergy has been acting up, especially when the AC is turned on, and that's when we decided to clean the air ducts. I researched online and decided to try Stanely Steemer. The appointment process was easy; I did everything online. I entered the number of vents in our house, dryer vent, furnace and other information, and it gave me an exact cost. I was also able to select the day and time I wanted. On that day, Miguel and his assistant showed up promptly on the scheduled time. They spent a total of 3 and 1/2 hours on the cleaning job. I was standing by to watch and could see that they were very thorough and detailed. It was clear that Miguel is a professional in air duct cleaning from the way he handles the vents and the equipments. In addition, they were very courteous and informative and answered every single one of my questions. After the job, they also cleaned up nicely, leaving no mess on the floor and around the vents. We tested out our AC afterwards, and it was evident that it's working much better than before, since all the dust has been cleaned from the air ducts. We used to have to set the thermostat at 72 degrees in order for the 2nd floor of our condo to get cold enough (since warm air rises); now it's cold enough with thermo set at 75 degrees. We know we will be saving electricity bill now. When we reclean our air ducts/vents/dryer vent in 3 years, we will be calling Miguel at Stanley Steemer again. read more
