I had such a pleasant experience! Prior to my visit, I had never had glasses before or an eye test. All of the staff were very informative and weren't pushy when it came to sales. This location not only had a beautiful variety of different frames to fit many preferences, but they also had great deals and promotions on certain styles. Worst experience I have ever encountered from a STORE MANAGER, ever. I went in for an eye exam because I was due for one but I didn't feel like spending 90 dollars where I go too. I called ahead of time and the receptionist said it would be 45 and I was in a "ok let me get this done" mood. I went inside, the receptionist found me and had me answer some questions and was greeted with the optometrist who gave me a breakdown about my eye health and was wonderful to me. He walked me out to the lobby and tried to find someone to ring me up. That's when the store manager came up to me and straight off the bat asked why I even came for the exam... I asked WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY.. he went off saying that it was strange and why did I need the prescription if they had glasses and that I didn't need the prescription. He had the most rude demeanor I have ever experience. At this point I was uncomfortable and he kept asking me why I needed to do the exam, pretty much harassed me about it. Then, when we sat down he asked me if I had frames somewhere else and that's when I said if it was a issue to get a exam here I wouldn't have even came and he stayed quiet. Mind you he didn't even want to hand me my PRESCRIPTION. I told him I didn't appreciate his rude approach and he went off with the excuse that this is a "place of business and that he wanted to know what was keeping me from purchasing frames here" First off, you wouldn't have started with the "place of business" if you were really concerned with why I wasn't interested in any other services. Second, BY LAW I can get a prescription at any place that offers and do as I please, without requiring purchasing any other services, glasses, etc. Plus I shouldn't ask for my prescription it should be given to me regardless. I didn't come in for a a rude questionnaire/interrogation! He was so agitated that he went on saying "So, since you're just buying the exam it will be $90" I told him that it is $45 and he acted moronic and said "oh really, let me check" he went to the back to "check" UHM how do you not know the pricing of your OWN STORE. Then came up with the excuse that I called the call center. Regardless shouldn't it be the same price? What a coincidence that the lady I called before hand has the identical accent as the receptionist. I never felt so coerced by any sales person until I met the SM. And I work retail and I know there's a quote to reach but if that's the case this is NOT the way to do it. This was a very bad experience that I took time to really write a review about it because the energy of that situation left a bad taste that I sincerely regret even stepping foot in there. I don't recommend coming here if you're not willing to get there whole service without being harassed by the SM. This was even worst because I had my 1 year old daughter at my hip and to feel so uncomfortable was very unsettling. I paid what I paid and shouldn't have to explain to anyone why I needed my own paperwork. Also after the transaction was complete I still had to ask for my prescription because he forgot it on the desk behind him. TLDR: My glasses broke and I got awesome new ones for way less than I was expecting. So this (photo) happened the other day I guess it was bound to happen eventually, they were almost 3 years old and the lenses were scratched all to hell. Thankfully, I've got some new ones on the way! I don't usually do this, but huge shout out / shameless plug for Stanton Optical. This is my first time ever getting glasses without vision insurance, and they gave me one helluva deal. A total of $150 for: An eye exam (shout out to their doctor Dr. Tony Gendvilas O.D., who was the most thorough, professional, and friendly eye doctor I've ever had), two pairs of glasses; one standard pair with the highest end transitions coating that even works inside a car, and 2nd pair of prescription polarized sunglasses; both with an anti-scratch UV coating with a 2 year replacement plan, and an anti glare coating. That is less for two pairs of awesome glasses without insurance than I paid individually for each of my last two pairs of glasses with insurance! I am one happy consumer right now, and that doesn't happen often these days. If you need new glasses, stop in and say hi to Anastasia, the general manager, she'll take great care of you. I came in to Scholls Ferry Road May 4. Purchased two glasses. I had received one pair which were sunglasses instead of regular lenses. Now they have lost my order. Called last week for my prescription and they said they changed systems so they would call me when they found it. No call. So I call again the next week and they tell me that they cant find any of the old information. It's not just money either. I called to inquire about pricing for contact lens and eyeglass exams, hoping to find a reasonably priced but decent quality place. The telephone customer service was so fake and scripted I felt as if I was talking to a machine! My questions were not answered at all! This place runs a scam where you get two pairs of glasses and an exam for a low price. The exam is done remotely with a doctor in Florida on a computer screen, very impersonal!and my prescription was wrong. When finished you can choose your two pairs of frames from about 10 of the ugliest ones you've ever seen. I had to go elsewhere the next day for a proper exam, an accurate prescription and decent frames. read more

Set up an appointment for my little guy and I on a Saturday. We drove out to the Stanton Optical place (Tigard, OR), went in to sign in and ask when we would see the doctor. The gal at the front said that it would be a "virtual" exam on Skype and that there was no optometrist there. I asked why this wasn't told to me when I called (when I called they said, "you'll have a complete eye exam"). She said, "They never tell anyone until they get here." Staff are helpful but operation and product is poor. Took back both pairs of glasses 3 times, still not right but have given up. Wrong tint in lens, arm length for fitment not as ordered, etc. Weeks after drop off with no word back. So having just recalled the business card given to me from a Stanton store manager in my wallet, after an arduous journey through suburbia to locate the America's (worst?) only to find my appointment canceled - I was 10 minutes late due to traffic, and they were too "slammed". So I called Stanton - they admitted they were busy, but more than happy to fit me in. I'm patient, and already I felt basic common courtesy and compassion at work here. So I went- 100 feet or so to the nearby much more well marked location, where there were more people but I waited maybe 10 minutes. Far cry from being turned away from an appointment let alone a walk-in - now I don't know if the Dr. at America's Best was just incompétent or what: but unless you want to feel like proverbial shit on a stick, go to Stantons- not the popular alternative. (Bye-I hâte doing this but it was soooooo bad at America's best and such a contrast at Stanton - they've come out the winner, hands down. read more

My story with Stanton started in Alaska . Unfortunately they got my exam wrong the first time . It wasn't only that, the staff was very new and uniformed. It took hours for me to even get the first exam . I get my glasses . Two pairs . They were both wrong!!!! I brought them back only to have them be wrong Again!!!!! So we moved back to Oregon and I start getting headaches and migraines . Honestly I didn't even want to come in to the Stanton here in Tigard . However I am So Happy that I did!!!! I was greeted and helped right away!! There was a sweet lady who talked me into coming back today to get a new prescription. I am here right now and I can't tell you how happy I am that I came in !!!! Not only are they making me New Lenses they are also helping me with my contacts and price matching !!!! Let me tell you in this economy right now it is so comforting to know there is a company willing to completely rectify the bad experience I had at the other location!!! My glasses are my life!!! They embrace my attitude and give me confidence. Side note it's my birthday on Friday and Sunny at the Scholls location made sure I will have them to wear!! Plus my contacts in case I choose those!!! The staff was very helpful but the idea of 2 for 60 is a scam to get you in the door. There are only two rows of old fashioned frames which have that deal and everything else is two for one but the prices start at about $110. I wasted my time :( read more

I have been to this location for a little over one year now. When they first opened I had a lovely experience with Miss Lottie, who has since transferred to another location. I was in on June 6th, 2018 to drop off my glasses and have a repair done for my existing frames. The gal that helped me seemed as if she did not know what she was doing. When I checked on the status of them yesterday June 14th they hadn't even been sent out because of her lack of organization. She has since been fired and I ended up speaking with Miss Anastasia, who was absolutely amazing. She ended up giving me the same frames without transition for free to wear while my old ones were being repaired, and gave me another frame on the house for the mix up. What a great experience and what excellent customer service they have to make up for a lack of ability on the x-employees part. I will definitely continue to take my business to this particular company and location due to their consistent efforts to take care of their customers. So thank you Miss Anastasia and thank you Stanton for always being there for my eyeball needs. Big hugs to you all :) read more

Literally the ONLY thing that could have made our experience here more satisfying is if they served cocktails while we waited. Booked an appointment online for my wife and I, which was very simple. Upon arrival, We were greeted within the first 30 seconds. Every single person we interacted with was SO nice (not in a "im trying too hard" way, but in a genuine way :)) and they were very thorough. We never felt rushed, at least not by the employees. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, go in with a good attitude and a smile and I guarantee you will be well taken care of. First time going to this place and I was greeted and helped really well. Got my exam and glasses that day. They told me that I'd get a call when my frames come in. I did too, I was very excited to get the pairs I picked out. Turns out one didn't get sent or it was lost. I was sad too because they were the pair I wanted. Thankfully Jade who was working at the time helped me out that day and helped me pick a new pair. I was going through a lot of stress that day and to find out more bad new sucked but she did great with her customer service and I left with a smile on my face still. When I came to get my second pair she was there greeting me as if I never left. She was wonderful with what she did. I was leaving another optical business were they didn't have a big enough selection when i saw Stanton optical. When i walked in i was pleasantly surprised by the big selection of glasses. I was then greeted by Taylor and he helped me through finding a new pair of glasses. Not only did he make my experience better then my former optical store, but also the store manager Ellie introduced herself and both Taylor and Ellie assisted me through the rest of me experience. Don't ever waste your time going here. The left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. I went there for the 59.99 special. You don't even get a real exam, it is done over video conference while you look in a mirror at the chart behind you with someone from India. My glasses and sunglasses with no extra scratch or glare protection were over 200.00 and they screwed up my prescription on the sunglasses, and then it took 3 more tries and two months to get them. I finally got a 100.00 refund for my troubles. This week my dog ate my glasses and I called in to see if they were covered under a warranty. They said yes just 20% of the frame cost... 3.82 yippee.. Got the call the frames were in on Friday. Today I went in to drop off lenses and no one knows where the frames are said they will call when they are in, I say they are in, and now magically it is 33.80 to replace them and no one knows where the frames are at. The men who work there all rude, the ladies seem to be nice, but it is one screw up after another. read more

Save yourself the headache and time and go to Americas Best! I had THE WORST experience here! I set up an appointment over the phone for 1:15PM and arrived at 1:10PM. I waited for *40 minutes* while the doctor was on his phone in his car. I was on a time crunch because I was on my lunch break which I communicated to them. When the doctor finally arrived and was told I'd been waiting for 40 minutes his response was "She must have scheduled it online." I told him that Was Not the case and that I had spoken to a person over the phone. His response was unbelievable. He said he didn't "know what to tell me" and that he's a "independent contractor not paid through Stanton Optical". I was livid! He took no responsibly and had no empathy for the fact I had been there 40 minutes waiting on him. I ended up demanding a refund and leaving. I called Americas Best just around the corner and they got me seen right away! The staff there was kind, quick, professional, and there are more options for eye glasses! I walked in a few minutes early to my appointment and was instantly greeted very cheerfully by Jade. She finished helping the couple before me, I mentioned my appointment and that I was ready whenever, she helped immediately. After filling out my information and the first part of the exam I browsed around and was pleasantly surprised by all the selection. She even mentioned sunglasses which I hadn't even though to look for and that the glasses are all buy one get one free. I commenced with the rest of the exam which was done by a video call with a doctor. I was a little apprehensive of that since that's a first for me, but it went fine. After that Jade said I could keep browsing until she finished everything else up. Anastasia then came and introduced herself, also very cheerfully. She offered to help me pick out a few choices, listened to my tastes, and I fell in love with the second pair she handed me. I found a pair of sunglasses and thought I was ready, then Jade asked me to try on a quirky pair I hadn't considered. I loved them.
