As soon as I walked in, I loved the kitsch-y vibe of the place. It has a throwback diner feel to it. The service was great! The lady at the front counter took her time in explaining what the crowd faves were and the food came out fairly quickly. They have specialty sodas and drinks which excited me because I love to try new things. I ordered the Portobello Sandwich topped with a fried egg, and my friend had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. We each added the Italian fries and Cajun fries to our orders as well. DELICIOUS! I wasn't a fan of the roasted red peppers on my sandwich because they were a little too soft, but everything else was fantastic! The fries were crispy, hot, and seasoned to perfection! The food looked great but in my opinion it was lacking the spark i was looking for. It tasted alright definitely had better burgers. That being said the staff was very friendly. I hardly review places unless they are extremely great or extremely poor. We chose this place because of the almost 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, this place was less than poor. We started with great bottled Bruce Cost ginger ale with pretty healthy ingredients on the scale of common bottled drinks that usually have colors and hi fructose. But then our burgers (chipotle and Luke sky walker) came out and that's when our appetite was lost. Our first impression came from the smell of cow manure. We didn't expect much as there was no promise of grass fed meat but the smell from these burgers were yuck. This meat was bottom barrel. Once we picked it up the overlooked meat fell apart. The Italian fries were lack luster and flavor, ketchup couldn't even help them. We dropped the burgers back on their trays and left. read more

Visited Stanton's with my sister and her family over the Memorial Day Holiday. Great chose we shared the Italian Fries, Sweet potato Fries and Chili Fries between the 5 of us. We still took home a box or 2 home. I enjoyed the Luke Skywalker, my sister loved the Truck Stop and my niece and nephew ate the kids sliders (Note: only order 1 next time) they could of shared those were the biggest Sliders I have ever seen. In the minority here but have to agree with those in my camp that the burgers are just ok. A sign of a good hamburger is to first taste the beef with none of your toppings masking it. This burger was dull and under seasoned. It was more greasy than juicy. The char on the outside is nice and the mixture of topping possibilities is excellent but I did not find the 40 minute drive worth it. The staff was excellent and efficient. Sides were very good including pickle chips and onion rings. The hamburger bun was bigger than it needs to me which is also a clue to me that the burger won't be excellent. read more

After an extensive trial period of many of the Houston area burger joints, Stanton's far and away has the best burgers. My favorites are the Truck Stopper, the Miss Piggy and the Cowboy Brunch. Based on the rave reviews, we had to try Stanton's. I went with my family for lunch and we weren't disappointed with the food. Everything was cooked just right. Nice, juicy burgers with fresh toppings and the fries were awesome. Parking is limited and we had to park on surface streets and walk a bit but it was worth it. The reception area is kinda small and the line can get long around lunchtime. The seating area inside is limited but that adds to the atmosphere. I would definitely go again. Only complaint is they don't have drinks on tap...just bottles and cans. read more

Best burgers ever!!! We went on a Sunday as a family and my kids ate the whole meal that they got. My boys loved the strips and fries and my youngest loved that grilled cheese. I had the chili cheeseburger and it was awesome. The habanero sauce had some serious heat but not overpowering. The homemade chili was right on as well, no beans as it should be. The Italian fries were delicious as well. If i had to come up with a complaint it would be that they do not cook the burger to order. Everything is done to a medium-well while I would have preferred medium rare. That is the only thing holding me back from 5 stars. A friend had the holy cow which had an insane amount of cheese and the Texas toast on the cowboy brunch was for real. The beer and soda selection was excellent as well. These burgers have a great flavor!! Got the bacon cheese burger and it was Really Good! They specialize in specialty burgers, garlic, mushrooms, cheeses, ham, jalapeños..etc. No baskets but you can order all kind of different fries with chili and cheese too! Even have beer for the adults and root beer for the kids. My daughter got a grilled cheese sandwich and that was Super Huge!! All Burgers are 1/2 no matter which one you get! I love this place! It is a hole in the wall joint, but has the BEST tasting burgers in town. Meat is juicy and flavorful, and bun is sweet and buttery! The menu is small but have the perfect combinations. You order a drink and you can pick whatever they have in the refrigerators (soda, juice, tea, beers). Service is always great. The kids enjoy the burgers. Daughter had the truck stopper she said full of flavor. Sons had bacon cheese burger and chilly cheese burger both devored the burgers. I had the portebello sandwich and chilly cheese fries. The fries were great. The portebello sandwich was missing flavor but the fries made up for it. The regular fries aren't the best.
