We went for our Wedding Anniversary celebration and had an amazing experience!big shout out to Jen who made it all possible. We had initial reservation for 6 pm but my husband was taking my son for the star war movie so we were going to have to miss it! Called them at 5:30pm and Jen moved it to 8:30pm. We sat at the bar and Ben and Sharita were amazing. Best food in Atl hands down and service and quality to match it! Agree with everybody else's review- I would give them 10 stars if Yelp would let me! We'll be back for sure!! read more

My friend and I tried this place out a couple of weeks ago. The whole experience was amazing. The atmosphere of the place is warm and welcoming (read the back story of the restaurant - it's truly heartwarming) and the service was phenomenal. But the food..... the food was EPIC!! Every course was better than the last. The level of detail and preparation that goes into each dish did not go unnoticed and the presentation was like art. We went here to celebrate my partner's residency graduation, and it was overall a great experience! The staff were lovely and charming, atmosphere was clean, simple, and refreshing. Food was great! We overall enjoyed the experience. One dish that we both did not find appetizing was the chicken liver tart...it had a very unusual flavor that was pretty off-putting. We tend to be pretty adventurous with foods so was surprising for us. (I have read other reviews, however, and some folks really love it, so might just be us). We have been to a few of the other top restaurants in ATL and honestly would probably choose those over Staplehouse for very special occasions, but we would for sure go back! I'll be brief: This place belongs in the same high-echelon Atlanta dining category as Restaurant Eugene and Bacchanalia, but with a much different (warmer, more inviting, less pretentious) vibe. We had a fabulous meal there a few weeks ago that is on par with any place else in Atlanta. Four of us went to the Staplehouse for lunch yesterday and I was so impressed. This is a level of cuisine that you just don't find anywhere else. We listened to other reviewers here on yelp and ordered the whole menu which was a great idea. Even if you only go to the Staplehouse once in your life, this is a culinary experience beyond belief and one you should not miss! read more

My wife and I had very high hopes for this restaraunt. Unfortunately we were sadly mistaken. We had the ten course meal, and could not even make it till the end. As we only could enjoy three of the first courses. This was a chef driven menu, and now I realize this is a huge mistake by us. As it was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. I have no urge to ever go back as there are many better places to eat for far less. The service was great too bad the food was not. Excellent service. Small number of menu items; the ones we tried were very good. Extremely small plates ranging from $14 to $24 - and even the portions at $24 were very small. Cocktail prices were surprisingly reasonable at $6 to $8 compared to food prices. Recommended only if cost is not a concern. read more

The chestnut ravioli was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I fought over the last piece of ravioli. Because it was my celebration dinner, I won. The squash dish was delicious, and even the salad had a nice twist. The waiters were very knowledgeable about the origins of the dishes, and the chef takes special care to use local ingredients. Beautiful "foodie" experience in a low-key, unpretentious setting. Not the place to go when you're starving for a burger and fries, but when you want to have an adventurous culinary experience! Sat on the patio which I ended up preferring since it was quieter, but definitely recommend checking out the interior - it's simple, beautiful and welcoming. Patio is covered and heated. What a great addition to the Atlanta dining scene! As soon as you walk in the door the staff is friendly and inviting. The food rivaled some of the best restaurants in Atlanta, all in a laid back atmosphere. My wife and I chose the a la carte menu, and chose a few small plates, many of which were sublime. The smoked mushrooms, chicken liver mousse and pork loin were our favorites. For dessert we had caramelized white chocolate with a buttermilk sorbet which was also amazing. The hype for this place and 300 bucks later for 2 of us was so not worth it. Out of all the 13 plates we had only 2 actually were good the other 4 were ok and the rest I wish I never had them. I get it it takes a lot of work but after all that work if the food tastes gross there is no purpose. Definitely 5 start on presentation the dishes were beautifully presented and the chicken liver tart was so beautiful but tasted weird it had a taste of iron. The sword fish made me want to vomit and after several hours all I could taste is the mint and the fish was over cooked, And to make matters worse not even the dessert was worth the calories I was ingesting. Service was good just a little annoyed that they don't sit more than 4 people at the time I get it is a small place. It was very disappointing! I was expecting an amazing meal since I had to wait 6 weeks due to limited reservations but so not up to the expectations. Save your money and go somewhere else, Atlanta has good food and I know about food , and this place it's not it. read more

There aren't enough superlatives to describe this place. Staplehouse is just extraordinary. We've been here a number of times and each visit is a new and exciting adventure. The service is always spot on, the food incredible, and a general feeling that everyone there cares. It's awesome. Exceptionally delicious! We went on a Sunday for brunch and we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegetarian and gluten free options on a small menu. The staff was extremely knowledgable and helpful with the menu. The food was delicious and inventive and the giving kitchen was such a nice way to do something good after such a good meal! read more

Amazing!!! The James Beard semi finalists list put this place on my radar. And it did not disappoint! So delicious with excellent service. My uusband and I ordered three plates, our favorite being the pork sausage and cheese grits. The grits were just heavenly! My girlfriend took me here on last Friday night and we were both very impressed. Great, creative food, well-prepared and served. We shared 4-5 small plates and loved everything! The drinks are awesome too - I enjoyed a Sazerac and a whiskey-summer-punch thing recommended by the waiter, both delicious - the scene lively and the atmosphere fun and relaxed. One of the most interesting & fabulous meals I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. We were a party of 4 & ordered the menu. My friend and I were visiting from DC and New Orleans for the New Year Holiday. We happened upon this amazing spot that had a prefixed menu for the night! I have a severe nut and shellfish allergy, and the entire staff was very accommodating! They even made a special dish (ON THE SPOT) when I was nervous about trying a fish based dish. The chef amazed me with his creative flare and quick thinking. The wine pairing with the 8 course meal was divine, and we were constantly impressed by the personal touches by the staff. I don't drink at all, and the bartender on staff made a nonalcoholic concoction worthy of the highest praises!!! We chose Staplehouse over a few other choices on our wedding anniversary. This was the first time visiting. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was ok. I was expecting more. When a restaurant offers a price fix tasting experience, they are saying "We are going to drive, just sit back and enjoy." My wife and I were ready for that experience. The problem is that the restaurant didn't deliver. The first issue I had was with our server. Each time she came to our table she was so preoccupied with another table that she didn't even look at us when she was speaking to us. Other servers who delivered food where not any better. One was walking away as she was still explaining what food was in front of us. It really established a feeling of somewhat putting them out for coming to the restaurant. The second issue I had was with the food. Visually the food was very pleasing but flavor-wise it was kind of boring. Some items were a bit under-seasoned while others just lacked a good contrast of flavor. Not one item from that night was memorable enough where I would say "This was the best I've ever had..." Keep in mind, that does happen in many restaurants in Atlanta. I've been following this restaurant for quite some time now and really really wanted it to be amazing. My husband and I were looking forward to the opening of this wonderful restaurant. We had dinner there last night and cannot say enough about the experience. The staff were very welcoming, we were given our choice of seating and we choose to sit across from the open kitchen so that we could watch the chefs in action. We had the pre fixe five course tasting dinner with the wine pairings that were spot on. We were also treated with four small bites! Everything we were served was phenomenal. The desert which was chocolate was probably the best desert I can ever remember having. I would say, don't let the fact that you have to buy a ticket stop you from enjoying this dining experience. They are also flexible in serving al a carte from the bar and there is a separate menu and kitchen in the outside dining area. These two are available for walk in dining. We also met Jen, the owner, who was very gracious and very hands on at the restaurant. read more

My husband and I have been twice since they opened a few months ago, and haven't been disappointed. We love the ambiance, and the food is amazing. The tasting menu always makes me happy because we try things that we wouldn't normally order, and are always pleasantly surprised by the beautiful plating and unique combinations of flavors. Aside from the delicious food, we are always treated like we're the most special guests of the evening (as I'm sure everyone is:). I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best meals I've ever had in Atlanta, and in the top five meals I've ever had. We had the tasting menu with the wine parings. The ravioli and dessert were unbelievable. The only course that wasn't incredible was the chicken, but that's probably because I generally don't really like chicken. From the moment you walk in you are greeted and asked about reservations; unfortunately my date and I didn't make any reservations because we simply was looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite and stumbled across this miraculous restaurant. They accommodated us by getting us two seats at the bar. We both ordered a glass of wine. Because it was our first time, the bartender gave us some brief knowledge of what to expect. It's small plates that can be shared amongst two. If you would like a full meal, you would have to order 8 dishes. The ambiance was breathtaking,and the food was marvelous. From the presentation, to the details,to the ingredients used to create these dishes was mind blowing. The food definitely lived up to the price.
