Also he made a mistake on the price, so i came back with it asking about it, after all with a pathetic behavior saying that "you must picked it up in a wrong isle" assuming that i am an ignorant blind person who can even check the price. While kindly asking if its price updating issue, completely ignored and started to chit chat with other employee. I had good experience with printing associates, but this one is beyond pathetic. I just dropped off a package to ship via UPS this morning on my way to work. I asked the girl at the register if I can drop off package for UPS, she said yes and will get someone to help me. She telecom the person who handles UPS items 2 times. I waited about 10 minutes. Finally, she shows up, walking very slowly, dragging her feet, making an ugly face walking towards me. On my package it said, FRAGILE on it. She just grabbed it from my hand and tossed it into a box. She stood about 6 foot away, threw it, it hit the wall, then fell into the bin. I am not sure if she can read, but like i said, it said fragile on it. And she just power walked off. Can we say bitchy much? read more

I always go to Staples for office supplies not because I love Staples and it's my #1 go-to store for necessities, but because there's just so many of them anywhere you go... They never have the ink cartridges that I need though. Probably 1 out of 10 they'll carry it - no matter which Staples. Sales associates are pretty helpful most of the time, unlike Best Buy employees. Most Staples I've been to our clean. This location is pretty clean. I have to say though, most of their items are almost always in stock so that's pretty convenient. read more

BEWARE OF THIS STAPLES. Someone stole my friend's credit card information after visiting this staples last month. And today when I swiped my credit card at the checkout, the cashier requested to see the card and my ID and asked me if I wanted to do debit or credit. I said credit and then she said the transaction was declined and she remembered someone used the same credit card with the same number earlier today to make to purchase at the store. I was like how did she managed to memorize customers' credit card number. I then saw her manually type in my credit card info into the computer. I asked her why did she typing my info but she denied doing so. She then swiped my credit card again and said it went through this time. I wanted to develop one picture to complete a present I bought. Once ilI got to Staples, I asked how I would be able to develop one picture. They gave me the card to send my pictures to. I received my code on the email, then asked for assistance. They told me to use the printer. I told them I wanted to print one picture for a picture frame I bought for my parents in law. They told me I have to buy a pack of paper material I want, then use there printer to print it. The cheapest pack of paper I found in Staples was $20. All that to print one picture. I called Walgreens next door right after. I was able to print one picture at Walgreens, so I left to Walgreens instead. read more

This location is staffed with quite an incompetent bunch of individuals. Starting with the employees who hate their jobs and but enjoy the employee discount they get to use on sharpies (for their eyebrows that is), you can bet they will let you down and outright lie when needed. What's the most troubling to me is that the manager here (older Asian guy) is no different than the cashiers. I understand than a manager should stand by their employee. However a manager should use a little common sense and not defend a rude and obviously incompetent employee. read more

The following events have occurred since I first walked into Staples to package over $2,000 worth of china to be shipped via UPS on March 28, 2018, nearly 1 month ago. The facts are: My rights as the shipper/owner of my package were relinquished to Staples unbeknownst to me upon my paying them and that Staples has zero vested interest in fighting for me as the owner of the package contents; Staples did not communicate the absolute importance of buying their insurance, even after the employees knew the value, nor is it stated anywhere that insurance must be purchased in order for the customer to recoup any losses; The Staples Claims Department did nothing to help me since I did not have insurance, not even initiated 1 single phone call. (I was told their department is very small & they do not have sufficient time.); The confusion of line item #5 on the Staples customer receipt pertaining to the customer not being insured brings to question whether I would even have been paid; The UPS tracking/scanning device stated pickup of the package was the day prior to my even shipping the package; The package being found in the SAME LOCATION AS LAST SCANNED, 2 hours after my reporting the scanning error to Staples Claims Department; UPS can repack the contents of any package and take zero responsibility for damage that according to their own statement occurred AFTER they repacked the china per Staples emailing me that UPS claimed to see no damage upon finding the package and by Staples telling me via telephone that UPS would repack everything; The UPS delivery driver can handle a package however they want to even though it says fragile all over the box, and UPS will not be held accountable because insurance was not purchased. The recipient heard the 60 pound box drop at her door before the door bell even rang; Staples has closed this issue and cannot help me further since the initial lost claim has been approved. They have also stated in writing that they will not give me any information pertaining to how I go about beginning an arbitration process as they have also written that I cannot take them to court and that all cases must be handled by arbitration. UPS claims zero responsibility based on their terms located on their website pertaining to shipping with 3rd Party Retailers and the fact that the 3rd Party Retailer, Staples, did not put a declared value on the shipping label means they will not take responsibility for the damage they caused to my package, totalling over $700. Staples claims zero responsibility for their lack of communication pertaining to the importance of insurance and will not even file a damage claim with UPS since the outcome of me only receiving liability of $100 plus the shipping cost, instead of the damaged value of over $700 as the contents of the package was worth over $2,000, would be the same. Staples' own customer receipt is the ONLY form of communication of this and it does not state that insurance is required in order to receive such damages, nor does it state that the shipper's rights will be relinquished to Staples. Due to the complete and utter lack of effectively notifying the customer that their rights were going to be relinquished, that insurance need be purchased and that losses will only be recouped if Staples declares a value on the package, which was not done, is completely wrong. I was never given a copy that stated any of these. There is no signage that I saw, nor was I offered any verbal communication to these extremely important factors. There are hundreds of complaints similar to mine and it is beyond me how this is allowed to continue, when it all could be resolved with communicating to the customer. I have just today received a brochure pertaining to arbitration and that the customer had agreed to enter into a contractor agreement with Staples, which again is new to me. Staples cannot possibly expect your customers to assume to know your process nor that insurance must be purchased. I've requested a copy of this agreement as I never received a copy of this and have no idea what Staples claims I agreed to. How can this be right? Is it found legal strictly because you have such terms and a written agreement somewhere and that alone covers Staples from any and all responsibility to the customer that paid for UPS to pick up their package? I wish to begin the arbitration process but the Staples Claim Center would only submit this brochure as instructions, so I will be contacting the American Arbitration Association as stated within the brochure. I have a lengthy summary, and multiple documents containing proof of my case in which there existed zero communication nor notice that insurance was required and had to be purchased in order for me to recoup damages. I understand the 2.5 star rating. This is for the location's print center. I dropped off my documents to be printed at 6:30 PM. The associate did not come off friendly when she asked me if I needed copies (irked by how I was asked). She told me to write down what I need (usually I explain what I need done so that I know the associate and I are on the same page). While I'm writing the order, the associate leaves. A supervisor comes in to finish helping me and told me the associate went on break. The supervisor asked if the associate told me to stay for the order or pick up later. I told the supervisor "I don't know... I was told nothing" (a little more annoyed now). The supervisor pages the associate over the intercom and waits for a call back, then supervisor opens my flash drive and realizes it would take a while. Okay, fine. I said I can pick up in the morning right when the stores opens because I needed the copies for a work project. Then I remembered one of my docs needed to be on 3-hole punch paper. I asked if there is a charge (supervisor said yes). I asked supervisor if the print center prints/provides 3-hole punch paper and supervisor said "no". I asked if I could bring in my own so there would be no charge. Supervisor said yes. I said I would bring it before closing time. I return about 2 hours later to drop off the paper. Earlier, since supervisor said I needed to pick up the job in the morning and it would be ready right when the store opens, I wanted to verify. Supervisor asks associate from earlier the time the job would be ready and associate said "well it's 8:30 PM now, it would be ready until 10:30-11 AM now" (me inside trying to stay calm - seriously??!?!?!). Supervisor says "we were waiting for the paper." Frustrated I did not say anything and I walked away even more annoyed. I drive off and the words echo in my head "waiting for the hole punch paper"... Only ONE doc needed to be printed on 3-hole punch and I wrote that on the order. I drove back and went to the associate and supervisor and asked to verify what they thought they were going to do I my docs. I explained AGAIN (even though my instructions were written) that only one doc needed be on 3-hole punch paper and the other color document was on regular paper. I asked for clarification (tone was a little edgy yes, but trying to stay calm) wondering why the whole print job was on hold when only one doc needed to be printed on the 3-hole punch paper and the rest was NOT (they could have started on the other two docs). I asked "yeah, was wondering since you said you did not start printing until you got the 3-hole paper??" Then supervisor said "yeah we thought you wanted everything printed on 3-hole paper that's why we didn't start printing." Side notes: 1) this is where asking the customer for what I need done is helpful instead of me writing the instructions down and then giving me the impression you know what you are doing, 2) why could not supervisor and associate start printing the other two jobs (again, I wrote the instructions out for them), and 3) if instructions were not detailed enough, why did you not call for clarification??? That's why the number is written on the order form in the first place!! Or even ask me any questions before I left???? UGHHHHHH. When I asked for clarification the supervisor and associate looked dumbfounded and looked at each other as if they were trying to figure out how to answer me between the two of them. Overall, WORST experience I've had in dealing with a print center. Do not plan on coming back here for anything. I would have done this print job myself at work if the work printer did not keep jamming while doing. DO NOT GO TO THIS STAPLES!!! This is the second time I've tried to do same-day printing because oh, I don't know.. i need the job that same day.. And even though I send it with sufficient notice (It says up to four hours) and I gave it 3.5 hours.. They didn't have my job done! And now They're closed. No call to tell me that the job will not be completed even the order was for same day printing. And of course, that was AFTER the run around of not seeing my order in their work orders, that I must have sent it to another store, etc.. Even though I had an e-mail to verify the time it was sent. BOY DID I LEARN MY LESSON! Now I have an event tonight with no tickets to distribute to patrons. This is a one-off event and the tickets would only be useful tonight, no attempt from their end to mitigate the situation. SHAME ON YOU GUYS! Incompetent, untrustworthy and rude staff. I called ahead, asked if they would hold a tablet that was in short supply, and the girl on the phone said they would. I drove an hour to get to get to the store and when I arrived they did NOT hold it and were sold out! In fact, a manager told me that it was their policy to not to hold products of that type, they did not have a woman who answered the phone for that department and that none of the cashiers would have the authority to make an exception to their policy like that. I understand my part in the whole fiasco, I asked 2 question in one question which might have been unclear. However he was wrong on both accounts. I had the receipt, I spoke with the store manager, but I guess Staple does not believe in the customer is always right. Instead of realizing the mistake and returning the $220 purchase they set up a phone call between me and the associate, to what, hash it out? I don't know because of CORSE, he never called. I noticed I had a typo on one of my program printout after getting it done this afternoon at another Staples location which had an awesome customer service, Chino Location. Went to LA to prepare for a recital. Drove all the way here at this staples off 6th Street cause the one by staple convention center closed at 8pm. Got there at 8:40pm and went to the printing/copier area. Requested to make a simple 50 copies front and back using ivory paper. Guy was very unfriendly and did not want to help me at all. He said they are closed (8:40pm) and he can't help me and that I need to go online and submit my request or come back the next day at 9am. I asked and pleaded if he can help me cause I needed this by tomorrow morning. He went to the paper area to look for my ivory paper. Said no more ivory paper. For some reason I did not believe him because he just wanted to get rid of me and to come back the next day. I drove 30 minutes to get here thinking I was going to get what I needed to print in time. I was wrong! This guys seemed like he did not want to work there and had a very bad customer service skills!! I will NEVER go back here again!!!! Go to Office Depot nearby instead. So I Have Passed This Staples Like Twice, But Could Not Figure Out If It Was An Actual Staples Because The Entrance Is A Bit Hard To Find. You Must Go In Through The Walgreens Parking Lot. As This Was My First Time There I Think It's A Nice Size For A Staples, Not Huge Like Some Of The Others But Will Cover All My Business/Office Needs And It's Close To Where I Live. I Went At About 4pm In The Afternoon And It Was Very Clean, Not To Packed, Employees Walking Around, And Stocked Shelves (I Have Been To Places Where Almost Everything Was Sold Out). I Took My Time And Went Down Every Row, Even Though I Knew What I Wanted. I Found Everything I Went There For And The Girl At Checkout Was Very Helpful, Because I Had Some Questions Since Some Items Were Not In The Correct Places So The Prices Was Not Correct, And I Was Comparing Quality On Some Filing Folders. This week I visited this Staples location twice at the beginning of the week and at the end... First time: I needed to print just 3 pages, one machine had USB port covered so I couldn't use it, the second machine accepted the file, accepted my credit card payment, but the only thing it was printing is error messages! While I was there 3 people was trying to use this machine - it didn't work. The assistant tried to make it work but 0 result.. The second time it was 5 days after my first visit. Same thing, a simple PDF document with just 2 pages in it, wasn't printed, but payment was accepted. So you guys saw that machine is broken and it's more than enough time to fix it or replace it during the week. I don't know who is the manager, but definitely a person who doesn't care about this business and its reputation at all.. If you want to save your time, just don't go to this location, these machines are probably never gonna work! read more

Very pedestrian-unfriendly. To enter this store from the very much pedestrian oriented context of the neighboring businesses, apartments, buses, and the major train station (just across the street) it is very un-user friendly. You enter the store from the rear along a 'living wall' bounded by a narrow street and access the front door through the same gated entrance as cars as they whiz through from the adjacent Walgreens parking lot. This arrangement is absolutely terrible and is counterintuitive to the context of the area, which guidance would lead you to a street entrance, this mixed use apartment/big box store ignores that and suggests you drive in. The building containing this store embodies the worst of LA street design. Why not install a drive-thru while at it? The inside of the store is standard, it did not have office chairs in stock. read more

As far as retail goes, it's like any other office supply store -- overpriced. I occasionally use the copy and print center since I rarely print, but sometimes need a few pages for work. The service of the copy and print center is awful. I've waited ten minutes for two pages. I've been told to use the self-service PCs because the clerk was too busy; the self-service PCs charge you for computer time as well as prints, making it more expensive than it ought to be. I'd never buy anything here because the prices are dreadful and only tolerate the awful copy and print service because the store is close. Avoid this store of you can. read more

This is my only review less than 5 stars because I have literally had the worst experience here. The process for printing and copying is tedious, outdated and a pain in the ass. You'll spend at least 10 waiting for a spot, 15 to load a card and put a deposit of $5 on a Staples prepaid card to even access a printer. You're charged for time on old PC computers that take forever. Asking for help isn't effective as the employees belittle your questions and dismiss you before you finish. read more

This Staples is not on par with other Staples locations. The store is not ThaT Bad... Yet it suffers from inconsistent customer service ranging from very polite & somewhat product savvy. To dismal attitudes and lack of even the stores product locations let alone product knowledge. This location does not have as many items in stock as most other Staples. O I think a new manager with a better attitude towards his customers and employees would transform this convenient location. Mixed experiences. I'll start w/ experience 1. 1) came here to buy an ink cartridge one morning on a weekday, so the store was pretty empty, and because there was no one really in line, i got through pretty quickly. however, the cashier was a bit slow and didn't seem to know much about the staples rewards program w/ empty cartridge returns. 2) came here today to check out the myriad of laptop bags staples' online catalog had, many of which were in the decent price range of 25-40. i come in, and the place is buzzing with people walking all over the place, mostly with kids who are looking for office supplies. at this point i see only one cash register open, and i do a double-take to see if the line is really that long just to get a few damn supplies. ok, fine. i go over to the laptop section and all i see are cheap-quality bags priced at 50 at minimum and skyrocketing to upwards of 100 dollars. i wanted to ask whether they had anything cheaper, but amidst the buzz, there was no one to be found! one employee whom i had seen moments before (before i needed help) was nowhere to be found; two other employees were at the registers, so not one damn person was on the floor to help with questions. mind you, this is "back to school" time. i visited the front of the store twice after being fed up with the bag selection, and for 10 mins STILL could not find one free employee. i was dissatisfied and fed up with the lame - or shall i say NONEXISTENT - service. PARKING: this is a very dangerous parking lot in the sense that there are some very tricky intersections leading into the staples parking lot as you come from the walgreen's parking lot. today the geniuses thought it'd be a great idea to park their delivery van right in the middle of the gated driveway, such that you had to squeeze through to get into the lot; furthermore, when driving out of the lot, the truck was blocking half of the intersection so that i had to scoot very slowly forward in case some genius decided to drive past me. CONCLUSION: inept and inadequate customer service, no concept of what back to school means, and how such an event can affect the volume of customers in the store. couldn't they maybe put in a few extra people on the floor to deal with all the people? read more

I don't expect a lot from big corporate retailers like this and I so desperately want this particular Staples rewards be better (since I live so close to it), but it just disappoints on pretty much every level. The customer service is slow and not very polite. Most of the machines are hit or miss. I've been charged for print jobs that never went through, assured I wouldn't be charged, and still charged. I went into the store on 11/19/16 with no expectation, and again disappointed by the employees, but Enrique (supervisor) reached out to help. He was very helpful and had more than enough knowledge about products, policies, rewards, etc. He answered more than enough questions and addressed all my concerns, and made sure I left the store with satisfaction. Although most of the employees at this store doesn't care about anything and look like they all had a bad bad, I truly enjoyed this visit (for the first time at this location). OK, I get it, it's back to school hours, BUT what's the excuse (POOR at that) for NOT exchanging a defective printer without having to wait in a long line (for at least 40 mins) of customers PURCHASING, not exchanging defective products??? NO other retailer has such absurd practices and clearly STAPLES lies in their Ads regarding another things brain EASY. I've always have good experiences here and have nothing but good things to say about them. Obviously experiences will vary from person to person, but let me give you a heads-up on the following so you are not disappointed: It's a Small Store: They do not carry furniture in-store or some of the hard-to-find items you may be looking for. In that case, just go up the street to the Santa Monica location which is 3x bigger and save yourself some time & a trip. Copy Center: PLAN AHEAD! The #1 frustration here is that people always show up at the last minute and want their job rushed and prioritized over everyone else who shows up on time. The self-serve copy machines regularly break down, due to over-use & ignorant Customers who damage the equipment, so plan ahead and have a back-up. Be mindful that the Workers here are OVER-WORKED and this is the most stressful job in the entire store. Their service ends around 8:00pm and from there it's just self-serve. Computer Use: They have 2 public computers there for you to log on and use. Here too you need to avoid showing up at rush hours, as there is always some guy there with his annoying kids printing out their homework or 2-3 people waiting for their turn. Overall this is a good store with friend Staff and I encourage you to give them a try. read more

I've never had an issue with getting in and out of this place but I'm usually just there to grab shipping supplies of which there's always a good supply. I'm sure there's better prices to be found online but the convenience of being just down the street cancels out my desire to wait a few days for a delivery. Customer service, I've always found someone to greet me, help me out, or answer a question. They're generally good about opening up another check stand if there's a lineup. Look, if you're in a rush and you need something printed PLAN AHEAD. Staples IS NOT the kind of place you want to go to if you're in a hurry. Their system on returns needs to be updated . Bought something with my debit gift card (still have it) I bought something I thought was gonna be used . Tried returning it got a cash card.... On the receipt it says it will go back to what ever card was purchased . So I brought my card and they said it couldn't be done . I asked for cash back and said they couldn't do it . So I called customer service , told me that I can purchase another gift card and like that I am able to use where ever I shop. Came back into the store, one of the managers said I couldn't do that . He was rude , not very helpful. And I felt like I was being rushed to get out the store . A customer over heard that whole thing and gave me cash for my card . But it sucks that a non staples employee had to come in and resolve the issue . Thank you so much. But I'll give a warning if you don't want crappy service and rude answers don't come shop here .
