My husband came in a few days ago to get a very important file printed. Now i know that usually there is a turn around time in most copy centers and staples is no different, but these girls can work fast!!! They had his order ready in less than an hour!! We worked with 2 of them (i cant remember names) brown hair and short blonde hair, and they were beyond helpful! They made sure everything looked perfect and were so friendly. Jason and Ivan are the best! We went to about 7 different stores looking for a specific charger that apparently isn't sold in stores anymore. Most of the stores said no they don't have it without looking but these guys looked thoroughly for us and found one that was just going to be thrown away. But we got it! Staples is honestly a great store. If you have any complaints, then you just aren't familiar with this place. I'm frustrated with people complaining about the store when they've never asked an employee how things work and they just plain refuse to understand. I have a premier rewards membership and a credit card with Staples since I visit frequently. I always ask them what it's like and what they have to do and it sounds like a typical retail job. But not enough people have the patience to accept that. Here's how Staples works: Staples has a 14 day return policy for any electrical and technological items, furniture, ink, and toner. Even if you have the original receipt, tell the cashier your sob story, or yell at the manager, you're still not going to be able to return the item. So don't be mad at the cashier because they can't change corporate policy. I've experienced this first hand and yelling doesn't help. The copy and print center is full of women who know exactly what they're doing. It operates on a first come, first serve basis. If you waited to do a project till the very last minute, then that's on you. They have a list of orders they have to do and they can't just stop one order that's already been paid for to do a new one- even if it's "simple and fast". SO DON'T WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO GET YOUR STUFF DONE. When it gets to be about two hours or less before closing, they can't physically make anything because they have to start cleaning up: clean the machines, deal with all the trash cans, refill the machines with paper, and even clean the bathrooms. And they have to do all of that while taking in even more orders. Sometimes business people (like me) are picky about the designs on their flyers (or what have you) and require lots of attention. So be smart about you projects. The Easy Tech guys are WAY better than Best Buy guys. Those guys are arrogant jerks and don't really care about your problems. And if they're not jerks, then they're insincere and aren't really there (mentally). Staples' techs actually want to make sure that your problem is taken care of and want to make sure the tech item they pick out suits your needs and budget. Both Easy Tech managers/supervisors really know what they're talking about when it comes to tech questions and so do the lower level Tech guys. Even if they try to upsell you something, you can't be mad at them. That's just how business works. Nearly every retail store you go into is going to ask you to spend more money. But you can always say no. The tech guys will understand. It's not like they're going to be offended and enraged that you didn't buy something you don't need/want. This seems to be some of the things that people complain about the most. I hope this helps for those who are looking to go there. It is truly a great place full of workers who want to genuinely help the customers. I always see customers laughing with the employees and enjoying being rung out by the cashiers- who always want to know if the we customers found everything OK. If you say no, they always try to find a solution to the problem or try to get another employee to help out (because the customer for whatever reason didn't want to ask for help.) If you need help, then just ask! The Staples employees are always willing to help! I go in there about 2-3 times a month and I still ask for help! But they don't mind helping me because they genuinely want to. read more

I've always gone out of my way to shop at our Vacaville Staples because I felt they had better prices and more helpful personnel. For that reason, I agreed to a 'free computer tuneup' which was advertised in the store. After leaving my computer with a 'tech' at the store, I received a call form him at home. He stated that he had found some possibly dangerous spy-ware on my computer and that it should be identified before he finished the free tune up. It would cost $70 and he recommended that this be done. I told him I had the McAfee security program on my computer. Since I didn't have time to investigate his claim at that time and was about to take my computer with me on a trip, I told him to go ahead. When I picked up my computer and found out what the 'dangerous' software program was, it was one small program of shareware that I knew about and could be removed easily with a few keystrokes. I'm glad I didn,t let him convince me to pay another fee to remove it for me. Needless to say, I felt tricked. When I tried to get the charges removed from my credit card, I was told that even though there had been other complaints, I had waited too long to report this. I still shop at Staples but will not be able to trust them as I once did. I see the Staples staff offering this 'free tuneup' to other customers now and would like to warn them to beware, but feel this review is a better way to pass on my experience. Arlyne T. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars because Celeste and the Copy and Print gals are soooo nice! But, the guy manager is NOT. I asked about an item and he explained it to me in a very condescending way. Never mind the attitude but his explanation didn't even make sense. This is not the first incident either. There was another time when I was returning an item I purchased awhile ago. He had to look it up on their system and acted like I'm bothering him too much. I have a feeling this man is not happy to be working here. read more

I had the WORST service ever !!!! I went into the store today to PURCHASE a digital camera. I had to walk around to find someone and was questioned at first are going to buy a camera then I will send someone over. Asked questions about a particular camera and the specs were not available and I did not see a box. Customer Service scanned device to see last one. Said fine, I still want to purchase and get floor model. She proceeds to call manager and comes back with this answer, "I can not take down for you to see the battery panel.. but you can buy it, but I can't take it down" I replied if I am going to buy it don't you have to take it down ? that doesn't make sense. She rudely replied I am jus the messenger. I said please contact the manager again cause I want to purchase and I assume to purchase it will have to be take down. She came back are you going to purchase. I proceed to say I want to purchase this but this store continues to give me excuse to not purchase, they can't take down, it will take 15 minutes. In this day of economic downturn I would think retail stores would want people to SPEND there money. I was willing and READY but did not get the service needed but rather got ATTITUDE and no help in making a purchase. I will NEVER recommend anyone to use their service here. If I ever need to make a purchase here in the future.. I will FIND someplace ELSE to go to spend my $$$$ and encourage everyone else to do the SAME read more

I have been going to the Vacaville Staples for the last 5 months for printing services. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The last two times, however, a women called Cai (team supervisor) has been at the counter and has refused to do my print job even though I got exactly the same service at the store three months ago. When I told the front greeter that I was disappointed and would not return to the store, her response was "hope you have a better day". It is disappointing that Staples tolerates such behaviors toward Asian customers. It was not a surprise when I went across the street to Fedex Kinkos and found several minority customers. For operating in the most diverse part of the US this is not likely to serve the company well. Staples also has ambitious plans for growing internationally. I think the management has some work to do. read more

Salesman just tried to con me into buying a full set of new ink cartridges for new laser printer I was buying. He said the only cartridge that came with it was a starter and would only last 20 prints. Truth be told the printer has full cartridges. This would have been $320 extra. Ivan was super helpful in helping me make my business cards. I came in at 8:30 am needing my business cards by the end of the day (I have a major business conference i'm attending this weekend and had ordered cards through VistaPrint. They sent me blank business cards and couldn't send me the correct cards until 6 days later, so I was a little panicked). Staples saved the day and helped me tremendously by printing the same day. Ivan took his time to help me design the cards and make sure they were right. I am very thankful for him. I recommend going to staples for professional business cards. They are quick, inexpensive, and print exactly the way you design them. Very happy with my experience! read more

Today I took in 10 ink cartridges to Staples by the Vacaville outlets. I had accumulated these over some time. I had recycled cartridges at Staples before for $2 each and expected to get a $20.00 credit. I walked outside and looked at my receipt a saw I had received 10c credit. I went back to see why this was. The manager came over to see what the problem was. He told me that if I had not bought printer ink there in the in the last six months I didn't qualify for the rebate. I said no one told me that and I would like to have the cartridges returned. He refused to return the cartridges even though I had "recycled" them only five minutes before. I feel that this manager stole $20 from me by refusing to return the cartridges. read more
