I had a manicure and pedicure today and I won't be going back. The employee, whose name I did not get, cut two fingers and one toe while shaping my nails. The pedicure looks OK, but I had to reshape my fingernails when I got home. I asked for a rounded shape, but they ended up sort of square, though each one was crooked across the top. On a positive note, she did a really nice massage on my legs, feet, and hands. read more

It is a shame to say this because I have gone to this salon for a while now and this time I brought my mom along with and they were so rude and rough. The girl that did my moms nails kept slapping her hands and started getting sloppy once my mom told her she didn't want to do shellac, she also bumped my moms nails and smudge them and didn't fix them...The girl that did my nails was rough and kept burning my nails along with the lady that did my moms. So i LOVE getting my nails done! what girl wouldn't like pampering themselves?! Getting my nails done on my day offs are my STRESS relievers. A friend had recommended me here and i was a little sketch about it since i have really sensitive skin. I arrived and was welcomed right away. I got a pedicure with my mom and it was good, but it was rushed. I mean usually when I get it done they take their time and I feel all relaxed about 45min to an hour later, but these two women got my mom and I done in like 20 or 30 minutes. How is that possible? The technicians were rude, the water was cold. My toe nails were being literally torn when the technician couldn't find clippers she just used what ever she could find; which as since made for a great split nail on my toe :/ . I was about 9 weeks post op on acl surgery and really needed to have a relaxing, and gentle time. This was not the place. I was treated rude and roughly to the shock of my friends. I like a pedi to be relaxing with a little scrub and massage, not of which we received. The upside, the colors were great. But will NEVER return. read more

I got my eyebrows done here and not only was it the worst service I have had, but the woman who did my eyebrows left a bruise. The bruise was bigger the next day, but before I left I asked her about what she did to me and she denied it stating "it was already there". 38 dollars for a manicure/pedicure. She cut my finger when doing my cuticles and it has been throbbing all day, so possibly infected. The massage on my feet was completely un-even and short. About 30 seconds on one leg then 10 seconds on the other. No massage for my hands and arms. The ladies were friendly but the pedicure was terrible! My toenails were not filed or buffed. No hot towels, no leg massage, no callus removal, no lotion or anything. I really hate seeing all the negative reviews for this place. I live down the road and come here regularly, at least once a month. Everyone is always friendly, it's superclean, and the pedi chairs are the best in town for massage. I have to admit, I don't go here for anything fancy. I just get a simple mani and pedi, and an occasional eyebrow wax. Everything is always to my liking. If you're super particular, ask for the owner, I think she's probably the best tech there. Similar to many other in- and-out nail salons; nothing more & nothing less. I stopped in on a whim with my little sister while out and about and got us both a pedicure. It was about a 30-40 minute wait, but they were able to fit us in as walk-ins. For me, the most anticipated part of any pedicure is the massage and feel they spent a sufficient about of time massaging my legs and feet. The nail techs were pleasant and I was pleased with the finished product. All in all, it was a good experience, but nothing so spectacular that it set this salon apart from the million of others. My husband & I stopped here as walk-ins killing time before our movie started at a near by theater. We both got pedicures & manicures. We were treated great and we loved the massaging chairs. Our final cost was $88. We were treated great & welcomed when we walked through the door. Our finger & toe nails look and feel great. I have no chipping or wearing down of the polish. Had a pedicure for a birthday gift, and needed a manicure to go with it. No appointment, just stopped in. I was told fifteen minutes to wait, which was actually 35 so not in a good mood by the time they got to me. However, the excellent and delicate handling of my hands made me forget all about the long wait. So very pleased with a perfect manicure of my real nails. No flaws, no pain! Oh dang! Where to begin? My adult daughter and I went in for wax - my lip her chin. My daughter had been before and really liked the woman who provided her service. My daughter was charged $7 before and that was the price posted in their list of services. I went first seemingly without incident. My daughter next, no offer to change the sheet or pillow on the bed. We didn't mind but the waxer didn't know this. I went out in the main area to wait. The tech used the same stick on my daughter. My daughter asked her to change the stick, the tech kept looking at her and shaking her head like she did not understand. My daughter let her keep going since it was me before her... When we went to pay and leave the tech told my daughter $10. My daughter said, "$7.00 is posted and that is what I paid before". The other worker in the shop (manager I don't know, English speaking though) said, "$10.0 I heard her tell you $10.00!" Which was a lie straight from the pit of hell! My daughter referenced the posted price list. The two employees went back and forth and the English speaking one said in a very rude tone, "$10.00 I heard her tell you!". I said, "I have been here the entire time. I was in as she was starting her wax. She has barely spoken English since we walked in. My daughter is not lying". Ultimately we paid the extra which was no great cost it was principle! What b.s.! The mood in the shop wasn't particularly inviting I will add. Our service was small we weren't there for a day treatment but dang! Bottom line? Yea, no! Crappy experience. Sadly they are near me and I wanted a spot for keeps. read more

I went here cause it's close to my work and I had a hour lunch. They are beyond rude!!! Rush with their work. My shellac I got was purple it turned a really ugly brown color within two days of getting them done. When I went in to show them and ask them To repaint them, the lady told me it was from my shampoo!! Ugh. No I have not changed my shampoo and I get my nails done with shellac every two weeks. The nail tech was so rude to me because i didn't understand that they don't have a tip line on the receipt for you to write a tip (like most of the salons do). She barked at me because I didn't have cash to tip her with. I had to go to my bank and pull out money to tip her, which I shouldn't have done because she was so rude to me. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I walked into Star Nails on February 14 and saw that Christina was working there. She had been my nail technician for probably 10 years at another local salon (a salon that told me that she was no longer doing nails, I might add). Christina cares about her clients and knows her business. She is personable and does a very good job in a quick amount of time. I have often been complimented on my nails (standard acrylic) and she does an amazing job with eye brow and lip wax as well. So thankful to know where I will be coming to get nail care! I might add that although I had not been to this salon before I can say it was clean and the technicians were personable. read more

Paraffin wax was too hot. Told manicurist it was too hot and she continued to hold my hand in the wax. Walked away with red puffy hands. 4. Don't know her name but she did a really nice shellac french tip job. But it didn't last. The next day one nail peeled off. I went back to have her fix it and she did after she scolded me for not being careful. I actually was pretty careful. I didn't do any gardening. Anyway, the next day more nails peeled off. Pretty disappointed that I spent 30 bucks for about one day of nice looking nails. I won't go back there. read more

I'm so surprised with all of the bad reviews. I would encourage readers to look at the other reviews the writers of very negative reviews have written...consider the source, maybe. I went on as a walk in, and got amazing service. My manicure was very thorough, and my nails needed A LOT of work. The massage part of the manicure was especially relaxing, she went over the color several times to make sure it was dark enough, and the wax was just the right temperature. I also found it really affordable. The environment was clean and professional. This was the best manicure I've had in a long time. read more
