Along with seeing characters, there are many Star War memorabilia to visit and snap pictures. Some items are actual movie props and costumes. Second floor: Marvel! From Iron Man suits, to meeting Captain America, there are things to see, explore and interact when visiting the Marvel's exhibition. Brilliant! What's not to love: A wide range of models of the famous space crafts from the movies as well as some costumes BUT best of all.. Honestly, very disappointed in Launch Bay. I guess it's geared more for kids, but I didn't find that there was much to offer. There are a few incredibly long lines to take a picture with a character (when I was there it was Chewie, Kylo Ren, or Boba Fett), some models of vehicles (which I thought were going to be film used but were clearly just reproductions) and then the obligatory gift shop. I was expecting to be able to spend a long time here but I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes. And that includes my visit to the Marvel area upstairs. I really wish Disney had kept Interventions open. read more

As a huge Star Wars fan, this is an experience that every fan should visit. Now, I am not going to say its the best of all star wars fans exhibits, but its a cool selection of toys, memorabilia, and fun FAN-demonium at Disneyland. The Hubbster, the Fam and I totally loved it and enjoyed being able to see star wars items and film props used in the Force Awakens up close. It was also super cool to visit characters like Chewbacca and Darth Vader up close and take pics. Might as well do every nerdy thing possible while you can. There is also merchandise available for purchase such as toy tie fighters, x-wings, millennium falcon, and of course the good ole' light sabers. All updated for Episode 7 of course. There is so much to see and do, you can easily walk around the displays and enjoy some time away from possibly the heat and the crazy park crowds. A+ for perusing the galaxy far, far, away.. Perks: Real life size costumes, movie props, star wars autographed photos, artwork and more. Outside the launch bay, the Star Trader store has plenty more Star Wars and Marvel merchandise you should check out! KNOW before you GO: The Launch bay is part of the Season of the Force in Tomorrowland. Its located at the bottom area of the Marvel HQ. Meeting the characters can have a long wait, so be patient. There is usually a wait time posted before you get in line. Can be anywhere from 30-60 mins on busy weekends. A must see for any star wars fan! Suggestions : go on a weekday and stand in line and wait for it to open which I think is 10am....(grab a bb8 souvenir cup at the kiosk next to the entrance!) When doors open stand in line to meet and greet with Darth Vader or Chewbacca because that line goes to 60 minute wait almost instantly! I personally loved the launch bay and all the costumes, models, collectibles, artwork, etc. I even gave in and bought the light saber umbrella in Skywalker blue of course. This is a great place to stroll through for any Star Wars fan to reminisce and see the new stuff as well. I have to say I now have the coolest umbrella ever! read more

This exhibit is located in the Carousel of Progress building and shares the space with a Marvel presentation as well. Inside, you will find a bunch of models, props, and costumes from the movies as well as a few photo opportunities. The photo opp spaces feature a rotating roster of Star Wars characters including Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. Of course, there is also a gift shop although it features a more upscale line of products including original art work, custom made cell phone cases (only the most current and popular models), and autographed items. Definitely worth checking out and this was actually a good way to get indoors and out of the madness that is currently Tomorrowland thanks to the Season of the Force promotion that has turned everything in to a Star Wars themed slice of heaven for all the fans. read more

This is a new favorite and a must for Star Wars fans. Little ones love this place and it is totally cool. A lot of cool memorabilia and fun Star Wars facts. The best part is being able to meet Darth Vader, Chewbacca and Boba Fett. How awesome! They really get into character and are so great with the kids. Disney does this so great! We went to take photos with Vader. We had a pose we wanted to do, and the photographer just stared at us without taking a photo. Then waited for us to do the lame standing and this is Vader pose. Was going to buy the max pass for the day just for this shot but nah, it was ruined. Hate your jobs another day, we pay to have fun. read more

I wish I'd had more time to explore! A very cool Star Wars museum that looked really interesting. But I had my two-year-old daughter and mom with me, and I don't think they would have enjoyed it as much as I would! However, I got to fill a lifelong dream of meeting Chewbacca! Please don't hurt me when I say that I'm actually not that big of a Star Wars fan. I'm not saying that I don't like the franchise, but it just never stuck with me over the years. It never drew me in. I wish it did because it's a cool community and they've got tons of merchandise. But maybe I'm lucky because that's one less thing for me to collect. Anyways, this is a pretty cool area. It's all indoor so you can cool off from the heat and get out of the sun! It's a mix of props and displays, store and character photo ops. Disney recently started selling custom phone cases where you can pick from one of dozens of designs and get it printed on a phone case with or without your name as well. You can get them at D Street in Downtown Disney, but this location just has Star Wars themed designs. There's also displays with various costumes and props from the new movie. They have three areas for photo opportunities, but one of them is more of a surprise. My second to last visit, Boba Fett was randomly there. Otherwise there are two guaranteed photo ops. Sometimes the line can get long, but the line does move fairly quickly. They just brought Kylo Ren to the parks so he replaced Darth Vader, and then there's Chewbacca. He's one tall Wookiee! Other than that there's not too much. The closed the upstairs area which was Marvel, but they had interactive installments up there which is probably what's lacking here. read more

I like Star Wars Launch Bay, but they don't stand behind their products. I bought 3 different Star Wars custom phone cases. Two of them now have had problems with the back panel cracking and breaking. They are very fragile. I tried to buy a replacement panel for one of the cases. I can't. I would have to buy a new case for $30+. The man in charge of making the cases told me I was the only one with case cracking problems. I have always been very careful with my possessions. I am old. I don't play rough. If the cases crack for me, they must crack for other, more energetic, people. read more

This was an interesting spot. They had some articles from the movies here...but it was only the bottom floor of the building. Clearly they are trying to build up some excitement for the upcoming Star Wars portion of the park...but I think it falls a little short! But I did love getting our pic taken with Chewy...it would've been fantastic if R2 and C3 were roaming around...or if Yoda were pontificating somewhere in there...that would've made my day! Great place to see Star Wars memorabilia.

This is where you go to see all of the Star Wars memorabilia you ever wanted to see...I guess. Haha...we just come to take pictures with the Star Wars characters, which is always a fun experience! We were short on time so we went here just to meet the Star Wars characters. My favorite part of Disneyland is definitely the characters. And I wasn't disappointed this time. As far as Star Wars themed exhibits go, this one was pretty cool. Part museum and part souvenir shop and if you have the means, you can pretty much buy the museum pieces as well. You want a full size replica of Darth Vader's suit and helmet? You can have it. What the Star Wars launch bay is used to be the Innoventions building. They are only using the ground level of the building at the moment and it no longer rotates while you're inside. They have characters in three locations that you can meet with. We met Chewbacca and Kylo-Ren but Boba-Fett had just left when we arrived. It was cool to see some of the actual props used when making The Force Awakens and they display of different light sabers from the movies was really cool. We almost didn't go into this exhibit accept that I was suppose to have a V.I.P. character meet and greet because of my Chase Disney debit card with exclusive access but that just simply is not true. You don't have to be a Chase Disney debit card holder and there is no preferential treatment. When I planned this visit, they hadn't yet started construction on the new Star Wars themed land and after I had already paid for my travel package I learned that a ton of attractions were down until that land opens up so I was pretty disappointed for that reason. Then when we arrived for our visit, I find that 98% of Tomorrowland is consumed by Star Wars. Innoventions is gone and replaced with Star Wars Launch bay. Space mountain is now Hyperspace mountain. Tomorrowland Terrace is now the Galactic grill. The Tomorrowland music has been replaced by Star Wars themes and Michael Jackson's Captain EO is gone too. It's now a Star Wars show called Path of the Jedi. I find myself eager for the new Star Wars themed land to open so that we can all have our beloved Tomorrowland back again. You get to hug Chewbacca! I cannot express what an awesome experience this is for a Star Wars fan. It's not Peter Mayhew, but he's super tall and sounds like Chewbacca. Seriously. I was instantly 3 years old again. I went the Saturday after Star Wars VII came out, and it was especially special after seeing the continuing saga of my favorite freedom fighters. Line was about 25 minutes around 3:30 and totally worth it. Staff are as friendly as can be. I cannot recommend this experience enough: it MADE my day! read more

This is a mini museum of Star Wars. I saw the Star Wars exhibit which came to San Jose Tech Museum a couple years ago, so I'm comparing that to the Star Wars Launch Bay. Fans of Star Wars will enjoy this exhibit. There is also a Darth Vader and Chewbacca character meet. The line to meet and take photos with them were not that long at the time we went in the evening. Supposedly there is also a Boba Fett meet but we did not see that. Upstairs is Super hero HQ and is a Marvel centric exhibit dedicated to Iron Man and Thor. There are some Marvel character meets but we got there too late. They close at 6 pm, whereas the Star Wars meet closes at 7 pm. read more

The Force is strong at Launch Bay! This was such an amazing experience getting to be able to meet the Star Wars characters at Disneyland. The challenge is picking between the Jedi side and the Darth Vader side. All the people are so amazing here. We went to meet Darth Vader and although he is terrifying all the workers were amazing, we meet the most darling worker Lauren who's smile was welcoming while still very much in character. She helped us in any way she could and reassured my scared children. Although it was brief, she really made a lasting impression. Getting to be in Darth Vader's plane was great, Darth Vader himself was wonderful as well! Across the way was Chewbacca. How could you not love hugs from a giant fur ball! He was as cute as ever and so caring, not to mention his friend in the room Seneca. She was great with all the children that came in and really made Chewbacca a fun loving friend to all. They were having a great time playing with each other and with us, they got us involved in on a very difficult conversation with a woookie by making him seem like a normal person commenting on everyday "earth items" as they put it. She was such a good sport when Chewbacca was poking fun at her having difficulty with the camera making dynamic they had in the room seem like they were co-pilots. Thanks to Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Lauren and Seneca; Star Wars Launch Bay will be amazing for everyone. I recommend coming to visit them every time you can! Best Character experiences we've ever had.
