My favorite place to get filipino baked goods and SENORITA BREAD! If you haven't tried it yet, you need to go. I grew up in Norcal and first tried it there, I used to eat it all the time and I never knew they had locations down here in Socal! The service is great, they are super nice and ambiance is cool too. Very clean, and very spacious. Of course it's a grab and go situation but you won't regret it. Eat the senorita bread hot and warm!!

Delicious star bread! The shop is at the very end of a plaza, tucked away near a Zankous and Ding Tea. What can I say? I love small bakeries! I tried the original star bread. It has a sweet buttery filling and is made hot and fresh daily. Was fortunate to sample a little piece and was drawn in by the warm, and comforting taste!! Instantly bought the Nutella and Ube pack too. Also got a few donuts to try as well. Will be back to this hidden little gem again.

I've come a couple of times since my last review, and it's still same same. The senorita bread is still their star of the show and is a popular item to bring to parties. I like that the bread is made to order and comes out piping hot. Sometimes too hot to handle. I'm still convinced mine was slightly undercooked because it was doughy at the bottom, and it's gooey when I bit into it--like cheese-pull status. Service is non-existent, and the store lacks welcoming vibes. The woman at the front wasn't friendly and didn't seem to want to be there, and I felt like I was a burden to her. I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon.

I was told by a friend that this was the place to get some delicious fresh baked goods. They are limited on what they offer - but, what they offer, they offer proudly and tastily. The service was very fast. I arrived just after opening on a Sunday - and production was in full swing. The ambiance could use maybe a little music? But, you're not there long enough to need it. I drove from LaLa Land and - about 40 miles - which I would never consider if it wasn't a Sunday morning. I am glad I did. YUMMMMMM!!! Make this a regular stop on your fresh baked goods quest! It's only 2 miles to the beach. Happy grubbin'!!

I like the bread, really good when it's fresh baked. The wait can be a bit long depending on how busy they are. Seems like they are baked to order and there was only one person in the front. Vibes were unfriendly since there was no music and the person in the front didn't seem like she was happy to be there.

Could not stop thinking about this place ever since trying the Senorita Bread for the first time! So many goodies here, but you already know I needed to get my bread! All 20 pieces were gone by the end of the next day. Came out of the oven HOT and fresh! Super buttery, sugary, and soft. I loved how the sweetness wasn't too overbearing where you get sugared out. Definitely have to come back as a staple for events!

Soft, sweet, melt-in-your-mouth Filipino bread?! Yes pleease. This bakery is known for their Senorita bread which is a fluffy, sweet, and buttery bread stick that is freshly baked and tastes amazing. You can get multiple pieces for a reasonable price (25 pieces for $20 as of 2025). They also serve a variety of other Filipino breads and desserts as well as uniquely flavored malasadas and mochi donuts! The maladas are cream filled donuts and mochi donuts were super soft and chewy! I especially loved how soft the Senorita bread was and it's such a great option for parties or large gatherings! Would definitely recommend trying them out.

Overrated! Lady behind the counter was unfriendly. No warmth nor Filipino hospitality! Señorita bread was tasteless. Couldn't find the filling. Was there even any? We bought freshly baked Pan de Sal and by the time we got home, they went flat. As thin as sliced bread! I guess it was just all air. Sadly, this place was such a letdown. Not worth the hype. Skip it!!

I have had Starbread bookmarked for a while. Finally, we were in Anaheim and I stopped by. The place is located at Times Square Plaza next to Ding Tea, at the very right corner. It looks very clean and organized inside. They have donuts, many delicious pastries, brownies, in addition to their famous Señorita bread. The young man was very nice, friendly and helpful. I ordered Señorita bread, he told us it will be ready in about ten minutes. They were ready faster than that. We ordred; - 15 Señorita bread 5/5 Warm, sweet, buttery, light and absolutely delicious. My goodness, it really melted in my mouth. - Pan De Ube 5/5 Bun with ube filling (Absolutely Delicious) - walnut brownies 5/5 Chocolaty, decadent and moist - 4 pack square: 5/5 We got 2 ube and 2 pandan - Ham and cheese 5/5 - Cornish Beef 5/5 Both of them were flaky from outside, followed by the flavorful and savory taste of the filling on the inside. Everything was outstanding.

We came in after a visit to Knotts and after a disappointing visit to their Riverside location where they had almost nothing left. This place was the complete opposite and they were fully loaded with so many baked goodies that I had a hard time restraining myself. They had on display so many various stuffed malasadas, different types of bagged pandesal as well as various flavors of bagged stuffed señorita bread. They also had fresh plain señorita bread in the back where we got an order of 20 and it was all gone in less than 24 hours! The aunty working the counter was so sweet and helpful, she made sure we got the freshest packaged breads by telling us to pull from the back of the displayed goods and check the expiration dates. I'm so excited now that I know that this is around the corner from Knotts since we visit every month. The biggest disappointment is not knowing this place existed sooner!

Have been wanting to come in and try their breads for a long time and finally made my way to one of their locations! So glad I did! My only complaint regret is that I didn't order enough senoritas! I found this place by watching a food reviewer from the Bay area review StarBread multiple times. So I bookmarked it for my next time up there. For some reason I looked them up again and saw a location in OC, and in my old stomping grounds too. It's tucked into the end unit of a rather unassuming plaza. It was 6AM so parking wasn't an issue, but the lot itself isn't huge. It's a simple setup inside, a display case, racks with bagged bread and a cooler in the corner. I was met with a large smile and hello, ordered 35 pieces of Señorita Bread ($24.00) and was on my way in about 5 minutes. I put down 5 pieces without taking a breath then wisely tied up the bag. Señorita Bread - 4 Star - A light, small, bread roll, baked so it's got a hallow inside and the top is lightly dusted with sugar. The surprise is the syrup that forms then saturates at the bottom of the bread. When warm it almost melts in your mouth. I have eaten them both hot and cold, and hot (even reheated) is absolutely the way to go.

Originally heard of this place from some random influencer who was in the Bay so I didn't think twice about visiting the bakery anytime soon. BUT THEN, I found out there was one location in SoCal so I guess it was meant to be! I didn't know what to expect coming in about señorita bread except the general consensus being that it tastes good?! Seeing how cheap the bread was, I ended up ordering a 15 piece ($6). The bread to price ratio is basically 5/$2. I came right in the morning so I got a fresh batch and omg I could see what the rave reviews were about! This señorita bread was a perfect combo of sweet and buttery and like it felt like it melted in my mouth but like for bread?? Literally could not stop myself from immediately grabbing another piece. They definitely are the best if you can get them right out of the oven! Honestly wish I lived closer so I can get this bread more often but for sure will make it a priority to stop by in the near future! read more

Finally had a chance to check out StarBread and let me just say -- it did not disappoint! I was thinking that the seniorita bread may be over-hyped and that my expectations might not be realistic after reading all the rave reviews. These little sweet bread fingers are AMAZINGLY delicious! I bought a box of 25 thinking it would last at least a couple of days but here I am, a few hours later and we've got 3 piece left! OMG so addictive! Will be back and will be buying a bigger box of these sweet, bready yumyums! On the other hand, the ube pan de sal was just okay...clearly overshadowed by the delicious seniorita bread so I'm still giving this place 5 stars! read more

Poor customer service. The lady on the front seems not happy serving her customers. I ordered 40pieces of star bread and she only input 20 pieces for me to pay. I corrected her and she responded to me "do you know that it took me 5 minutes in there". For me, It was not my fault if she heard me wrong in the first place and if she is not happy to get me another 20 pieces because that will take up another 5 minutes of her time, please reevaluate of having another person that is willing to assist customers. Then, Another customer came in and she misheard the guy and trying to correct him of what she believed she heard. read more

My daughter recommended this newly opened bakery. I tried the senorita and the Ube square and it was amazing!!! The bread was so fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this place as it's a must try. Definitely coming back again. The only issue was the staff member, she was not friendly but that won't deter me from coming back for from yummy pastries. read more

I arrived and ordered 50 pieces of senorita bread. The store was empty at the time. The lady told me that it would be 5 minutes. I said that sounded good and I went to find some food nearby. After ordering food elsewhere I returned to wait. When I returned, there was a line. As I waited, others put in their order. One group put in an order for about 200 pieces. The cashier asked the group if it was okay to fill other orders as theirs was larger and would require more time. They agreed and she did. It had been almost 20 minutes since I was told 5 minutes. She had yet to fill my order, so I went up to ask if she knew when my order would be filled. She immediately angrily asked if I wanted a refund. Every time I tried to get a word in she would interrupt and ask the same question. She said she needed to be fair and fill orders in order. I don't mind waiting in the slightest, but I had ordered and paid before any of the other customers had even arrived. Not only did my order not get filled before the "large order" like others, I had to wait until after it was filled, 50 of which could have gone to my order. I work in food service and encounter many entitled customers. I made sure that I didn't act like them and was respectful. But this service was absurdly disrespectful and unfair. read more

Their señorita is always warm and its fire! tried their dulce leche malasada and all of us likes it.. its not too sweet. However the ube buttercream malasada is just ok. Its lacking of ubeness so if u like more on buttercream side ube u might like it. read more

DO BETTER. Starbread in Norcal is what everyone knows and remembers. If you rely on reputation alone without serving quality AND customer service, you're not going to last. Do your homework and fly out and see how it's done up there. Like other customers have mentioned, not only is the bread thinner and more hollow, it's not the same texture or sweetness. It's like you're trying to sell a cheaper version with less everything - that's just greedy AF. Admit it. It's only been a couple hours and my bread is hard. I want this location to succeed but you can't do it with shortcuts. I'll try one more time AND please wash yo damn hands. I didn't see anyone during my visit, but it's something customers can call and complain about to those in charge of the agency giving you your health grade. No one wants to go to a grade "B" location. B as in BYE read more

Best SENIORITA bread! They sell it by piece so if you buy 10pcs to share with friends or family make sure to order 20 pcs cuz you'll eat all 10 pcs before you get home or to your location it's that addicting. It's only the fresh seniorita bread that is good nothing else. read more

It's a hit or miss on the senorita bread here. Sometimes it's good with the perfect amount of butter and sugar oozing. Sometimes it is really lacking and a bit more dry. Staff is really nice, but would love to see more consistency on the goods. read more

I enjoy the señoritas that this place is known for, but wanted to write a review just to say how impressed I am with the service I received from Q today. I was only intending to get a box of señoritas, but his warmth and friendliness (plus his offering of a chocolate square to try) really made my morning. I purchased a couple of additional malasadas just because he was so nice. Yummy bread and great staff - what more can you ask for?! read more

Ummm I don't really know what's the hype with this bread? It's my first time buying them and it tasted good hot. I tasted the sugar and margarine in it, but not satisfied with just one piece so I ate 3 more pieces. I bought couple of boxes to share t them with my parents and siblings. My sisters are familiar with Filipino Spanish bread because they used to buy it at a local restaurant in Oahu, HI, not StarBread bakery. Its bite size is perfect for my parents since they eat so little nowadays. I took it home to my husband and I told him to try it. And after one bite, he asked if there is anything that is supposed to be inside. I answered I don't know. So he looked at it and it's hollow. So he said oh ok it's a hollow bread. And that's all the reaction I got. I was hoping he will say it's good, I want more. Anyway, the lady taking the orders is very nice and polite. The store looks clean and they seem to manage their procedures regarding social distancing. Now, I still don't know what the hype is. It's not the price because the bite size bread cost 40 cents each, its not that cheap, it's tiny. There's nothing special with the flavor because it tasted just like other bread rolls. Was it the size? The hollowness? What is it? Or is it because of its name Señorita? read more

Not worth driving for. I was excited to try and reminisce my childhood memories! It was such a disappointment!!! I told my friends and family not to even try it!! If you want to taste air, hollow bread this is the place to be. While i was on the line too last week, The petite lady with eyeglasses was training the cashier. She said in tagalog, "wag ka mataranta, take your time, hayaan mo sila pumila masarap tinapay natin." She was tackless and not being mindful that her crowd can understand her. Oh and the ube muffin or cupcake, its dry!!! Not worth your $2! Might as well bake your own read more

No. It's butter as the fat with sugar. When it cooks, the fat and sugar melts thru the bread creating a sticky bottom. It's sooo good.

To be safe, we also got the Mentai Salt & Butter Roll. While we liked the Roll and its crunchy outside/soft inside, we actually loved the Oyaki. The mochi isn't sweet at all, just nicely chewy. Plus, whereas the Roll only had a little bit of spicy cod roe inside, the Oyaki was packed! I say this a lot, but truly, everything looked good. I hope to come back and try their Paninis and Danishes. If they're anything like the Oyaki, they'll be distinct, delicious, and downright delightful.

This Cream Pan is nothing like their FV location, which is sad because Tustin is actually the original. Inside is dingy and messy, which should have been a sign for me to walk out, but I really wanted a strawberry croissant. Big mistake! It was soggy--as if it was made yesterday. The strawberry was already going bad. Will never set foot in this location ever again and learned my lesson to stick to the Fountain Valley one. Thanks for reading!

I usually pay in cash, but you can pay with card (except American Express) if you're okay with a small processing fee. There isn't much seating in the bakery, but there are a couple of chairs and tables to the left. From my experience, people usually just come and go. Service is standard and relatively friendly. 100/10 would recommend.

They also offer happy hour, aka Flocktail Hour, from 3 pm -5 pm and 9 pm-11 pm Mon-Thurs. The Parkside Market Coffee shop is a great spot to grab fresh breakfast items, lattes, coffees, and teas. It's one of my first stops on my way to the parks. The prices and variety are much better here than inside the park. They also offer seasonal and monthly items to keep you coming back for more. The two restaurants I have yet to try are Seoul Sister, which offers modern Korean cuisine and bowls, and GG Chicken Shop, made famous by award-winning chefs for chicken sandwiches, salads, and more. I've heard some good and bad things about the food here, as well as about the elevated prices, which have been a turnoff for me since they opened. I may try the food one day and share my thoughts. There's ample seating inside on the first and second floors, as well as nearby areas around DTD. The staff has been kind for the most part and has had no issues with the service or orders I've received. Magic Key holder discounts apply here, with the exception of alcoholic beverages. Overall, Parkside is a good food and drink option for locals and visitors alike looking to try something new.

We tried: the Rosca Delgado (traditional thread churro), Churro Delgado with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream + Caramel Drizzle and Butter Pecan Ice Cream + Lechera Drizzle, and the Chocolate Mi Abuelita hot AND iced. If you must pick one - traditional churro + hot chocolate. No lies there. Already planning to pull up to their Santa Ana spot next time we're back in SoCal. Just not lucky today, was craving for the senorita bread since i have tried it during their opening day last May 1 and came back after that and I can say that the quality of the their senorita bread was not the same. It was good that i got it fresh and hot but when i opened it in the car sizes are not the same and some are super tiny (see pic) Bread crumbs were missing and it's all sugar and melted margarine that you can taste and its just not good. Its hollow and nothing inside and you can fit a tiny hotdog perfectly. Hope they improve on this. read more

The manager Natalie answered and was super helpful and apologetic about me not getting my bread, she even gave me an extra 10 pieces for the inconvenience .
