This Starbucks is convenient because it's right next to the train. However, I often find myself waiting for a drip coffee or iced coffee longer than what seems normal for a Starbucks. Today the fella who took my order of ice coffee just put the cup into a queue of 5 other cups and then stood there. So I think thats a downside to this location. i was SUPER PSYCHED when this starbucks opened! by the time i manage to roll my (hungover) self in 11ish on Saturdays and Sundays it's generally surprisingly uncrowded, and probably 3 out of 5 times it's a good experience - i feel like they're not really trying hard enough in here to work quickly, though - to take your order or to pour your drink (i literally mean pour, as i only ever order COFFEE and ICED COFFEE). you're serving addicts, here, people! i love you, starbucks. read more

I've tried numerous times to like this place ... but it doesn't work. Besides the up kept seating area I can't really say anything else that's positive. Numerous times I have ordered my coffee and they repeatedly give me milk with a splash of coffee. One time I went in and made an order with multiple coffees. They all got messed up and the girl at the counter was extremely rude when I tried to explain to her the order she was writing down... on wrong cup sizes. Yes, the baristas will fix your order but if I'm there telling you each order one by one... why should it be wrong?! It started with not differentiating the hot and cold coffees and just went down hill from there. I was very patient with the girl at the register because I too work in retail and know how frustrating it can be with an upset customer. Her attitude did not help the situation. I wouldn't give anyone a bad review based on a one time experience but this just seems to happen quiet often. I've tried ... but never again. read more

this is one of the few starbucks that has satisfying customer service! most of the staffs here are very friendly, attentive, and energetic (especially that white tall, skinny young lady!). pleasant interior design and very clean bathroom. occasionally there are few homeless people occupying the sofa area. and during afternoon and evening, there are lots of students or people studying/reading there and need to share tables. but other than that, I've had a great time here! read more

Worst cup of coffee I've EVER had! I switched from DD's to Starbucks because I prefer stronger tasting coffee but this was a real disappointment. It was like drinking insipid warm water. It seems like the coffee grounds were reused. Will NOT be going there again! I wonder- is the store Manager trying to increase the store profit by reusing the coffee grounds? We were totally impressed by the friendly staff at this Starbucks! We came in the our free espresso drink during the Holiday Cheer event and the cashier was so warm and gracious. I spoke with the Starbucks phone customer support too get some of the issues with this Starbucks on Broadway Astoria resolved. I decided too go back and try this place again after a few months. The customer service did improved alot better and there are some new staff working there now which I personally think it is a good thing that happened. Also the music is alot better too. I complained to customer support on the music being too aggressively loud. The tables and chairs are a lot cleaner too and the bathroom is alot cleaner too. The reason I give this Starbucks 3 stars is because there isn't enough seating available with tables and the plug sockets do not work most of the time. They should get those electronic sockets repaired. It's annoying too not be able too charge your portable device. I use my laptop when going too any Starbucks so not being able too charge my laptop while enjoying my fresh cup of coffee is the reason for my fair review of this Starbucks. At least they are trying too improve the place. I will call customer service again and tell them my review on this place. read more

a giant size starbucks in astoria in the busy broadway ave . plenty of assorted seating inside from stools by the window counters , tables for 2 to 4 and communal tables ,sofa chairs. , if you can't find a seat in this large spacious starbucks then just stand while you enjoy your hot or cold beverage and food items .i must give major thumbs up to the friendly staff that are able to keep the place clean and the condiment area well stocked. the ordering area has an assembly line type of ordering which is fairly quick and for the most part mistake free. the free wifi and multi outlets to plug and charge up will keep the slackers here for a bit but as long as i am able to grab a sit and enjoy my x large mocha frappe while waiting for my buddy then all is good in the astoria hood. p.s. the person who wrote the full menu on the wall board has wonderful neat handwriting so it must be a gals touch indeed. read more

Wow. I'm completely horrified by the way the employees act in this location. I've been coming here daily for years and in the past six months to a year the customer service has gone completely out the window. I don't know if she's the manager/supervisor or what but this morning "Chelsea" was loudly fighting with a customer over her receipt. She was being extremely rude, condescending and sarcastic with the customer and then she walks to the back and says "I'd like to punch her in the face!" in earshot of me and several other customers. I get it...I've worked retail, customers can be annoying, but jesus!!! You don't act like that and keep your job! This isn't the first time I've heard her be openly rude to people, myself included, but this really took the cake. Most of the other employees are just as rude. If something is wrong with your order there's no apology, they don't say good morning or thank you. You're lucky to even get eye contact. They act like it's a privilege to deal with them. I actually stopped going here for a couple of weeks because I really didn't want to give them my money but my caffeine addiction and the proximity to my apartment and the subway made me give in. I'm ready for another hiatus though. read more

There is no question that Starbucks products are of high quality, there is a reason you pay a premium for it. However there is a. If problem with the attitude the baristas have. First of all as many other reviewers have pointed out you are a big inconvenient for them. If you ever try to say something, they will be combatant with you just because you asked for something. Second, they seem to think that discussing their personal life while servicing you ta okay. (No customer focus). The other day I asked a lady named Maria for a cup with ice while she was making my drink. She responded to me in a very rude manner as if I was a child in a classroom. The exchange later ended with her yelling "Why are you staring at me". This was reported to Starbucks corporate offices and they said it will be addressed immediately. Let me also say I visit all the other stores in Astoria and have always been treated with kindness and patience. read more

Let me introduce myself. I am a loyal Starbucks customer. I frequent your store, at various locations, about 4 times per week. My usual haunts are Starbucks located in Astoria Queens and Manhattan. However, as of tonight, I will no longer purchase anything from Starbucks. As one of the larger companies in Astoria, NY, they failed miserably on Halloween. They were the only company of its size that did not give treats out to the children on Halloween. When my children entered the establishment on October 31, 2013 at approximately 6pm to trick or treat the barista appears to be annoyed. However, all local stores and shops in the area were generously giving out candies to the children. Some of the local stores even assigned a worker to give out treats. Obviously given that this is supposed to be a high end coffee chain that profits generously from the people of Astoria you would expect them to be able to provide treats for the local children. How can your company with a straight face tell children they cannot have any treats. Even if you ran out of candy (which also shows an extreme lack of planning) you still could have compensated the children with the pastries you have on site, just as Dunkin' Donuts did. My wife and I are sadden, surprised and yes, even a little appalled by Starbuck's treatment of our children. read more
