Never usually go to Starbucks because I don't ever drink coffee and when I'm with people who do drink coffee, usually supporting small, local businesses since there are so many of them in Austin that make good coffee. This Starbucks however is about a 2 min drive (maybe less) from my house, and super convenient when you need a quick pick-me-up. My boyfriend flew back from South Africa a couple days ago and was feeling super jet lag so I offered to take him to Starbucks for a lil drink, and experience was seamless. Quick drive through, super good drinks, and very friendly people. Definitely recommend! read more

My family and I stopped by Starbucks while driving around Austin looking at Christmas lights. My husband and I decided to share a Tall Strawberry Crème Frappuchino. It's a blended beverage that has milk, whipped cream, strawberry and syrup. The beverage was good. It was super sweet at the bottom where all of the syrup was but when mixed up it tasted better. Came here on Saturday around 8am and ordered a Double Smoked Breakfast Sandwich. Mind you, there was no other people in the store at the time. Sat and waited for over 20 minutes and still didn't get our one sandwich. I told Katie that we had been waiting for over 20 minutes and wanted to make sure our order didn't get lost in translation. She proceeded to tell me they were just super busy and backed up and our order will be out shortly. She was no help at all. We waited another 10 minutes until we asked another employee named Sam. We asked Sam if our order had been lost, as we had been waiting for over 20 minutes. Again, we were given a super generic response. He proceeded to tell me they were just super busy and backed up and our order will be out shortly. At this point I was ready to walk out. Why didn't any of these employees actually look into our order to see what was going on? Finally, Sam put two braincells together and walked over with his tablet to tell us that we had been waiting for over 27 minutes (tried to tell you that), and it looks like someone had closed out our order without actually making it for us. I do not recommend this Starbucks. The employees here are super dismissive, and it felt like they cared more about online orders and drive thru than the in-person customers. What a bummer because their upstairs seating is so nice. Horrible customer service. read more

I don't frequent Starbucks as much as I used to, but this location is close to my parents' house so I sometimes find myself picking up coffee for the road when I'm driving back to Houston. I typically go through the drive thru. The line can be long sometimes, but they seem to do a decent job of getting the orders out. On my past visit, there was only one car in front of me so it didn't take long to get my drink. The staff is always friendly and some of the baristas provide great customer service. On my last visit, I ordered the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato (seasonal drink). The barista at the window said that most people either really like it or they don't. She told me to taste it before I drove off to see if I liked it and said I could order something else if I didn't want it. That was really sweet of her. The first sip was kind of bitter and wasn't great, but I told her that I would keep it. The sweetness from the apple syrup was at the bottom. Unfortunately I didn't get a straw so I couldn't stir the macchiato. I guess if I were to order it again, I would order it "upside down" so that the sweetness is at the top of the drink. On a different visit a few years ago, I ordered a breakfast sandwich. One of the baristas had asked me if I had tried it with their avocado spread. I told her I had not. She went and grabbed one for me free of charge. So sweet! I've only been inside the store a couple of times to pick up a mobile order. I've never sat down in the store. It is two stories (which I honestly didn't realize for a couple of years lol), so if you can't find a table downstairs, check on the second floor. I'm going to be honest...Summer Moon is down the street, so I can't blame you if you skip over Starbucks for the Moon Milk. That's typically what I do lol. But if you need some Starbucks, this location is pretty decent. read more

I don't frequent this location much since I pass 2 other locations on the way to work, however, I happened to stop here on Thursday. The drive-thru was fast, of course, it was about 6am. The woman at the window was friendly. Here's the problem, there was SO much ice in my grande drink. I couldn't believe how packed it was with ice. I finished the drink faster than I usually do. The next day, I stopped at my favorite location on Slaughter and ordered the exact same drink and size...way better ice to drink ratio. I'm not sure if it was the person making the drink or the escarpment location but you are getting less for your money at this location. read more

I've been struggling to find a coffee shop I can sit and do some work and read in south Austin. This Starbucks honestly exceeded my expectations. There's a nice spot tucked away upstairs where you can read and enjoy your coffee. My go to is just the nitro cold brew.. it's fast and smooth. 8/21/2020- nice staff at the drive thru this Friday at 1100. He was friendly and made great conversation with me as I waited on my Star drink. Open during covid for drive-thru and takeout. Always a popular place and the line is long, but friendly staff made up for it this time. 10/31/19- it's a chilly morning and I get up early to go get a hot chocolate around 6:30am. There are always new people it seems like working every week. I get my hot chocolate with no sleeve and I take a sip and it's just hot milk. I'm very disappointed. This place is right around the corner from us and I'm sad to say I may no longer come to this location. There is one right next to my work. Very busy and slow! Just picked up a grande brown sugar shaken espresso and asked for sweet cream cold foam and they added it to the screen and charged me $8 for the entire drink which isn't the issue, the issue was when I got to the front and I paid and they handed my drink and it didn't have either of the add ons that were on the screen and I corrected her nicely and she wasn't rude but proceeded to charge me an extra $2 for something that was already added to the price in the first place. After closing for a remodeling job this location is now open for business and what a great job they did. Both the inside and outside was freshen up where the first floor was reorganized. The upstairs was changed to have a new look and a mural makes it look like a scene from Avatar. It seems like everyone including the baristas love the improvements. Great place to meet but it is small.. Recently remodeled but it is still lacks enough seating... Often times no seats / tables are available to work or socialize / meet. Really noisy.. Since there are not sound dampening applied to three interior, and it is two stories with an exposed metal roof, the sounds bounce around a lot...even with a premium active noise canceling headset on, you still hear the coffee machines and general noise echoing inside. So why 4 stars? The people there... They are friendly, fun and work hard for you. The people make it a nice place to visit for coffee if you can find a seat :) read more

This location has become so popular that it is actually difficult at times to get an order. The trick is to go by during off rush periods. The coffee is good, and I mean good. The workers are very friendly, but harried due to the flocks of folks. The drive up is slow and dangerous due to the traffic pattern. That is not their fault. The best thing to do is to use your app to order ahead and then park and go in and retrieve. The exit is also a trying experience, so keep your eyes pealed for people pulling out. Go slow. This is not my favorite Starbucks due to the traffic patterns, but the nice people working there and the quality of the product do make it a contender! read more

The worst Starbucks in Austin, in Texas, in America, IN THE WORLD. I've been to this location a 1/2 dozen times or so since it's convenient when I'm in the area but I'll drink muddy water before I ever set foot in this location again. Here is my beef with this location in general. 1) If you walk in, they make you wait behind orders for the drive through and mobile orders - I waste more time waiting here than any other coffee house. 2) The drinks are inconsistent - sometimes on the sweet side, sometimes missing any flavor. 3) The location is FILTHY - I never see anyone cleaning the tables, the trash is always overflowing, etc. 4) Except for one or two people, the staff here is aloof. The final straw was today when all I ordered was a tall carmel mochiatto (sp) and after the barista with RBF fixed the drinks for the two people BEHIND me in line I asked "where's my drink?". Uhhh - I am pretty sure based on watching her make drinks mine went to the drive through based on the order of things. They asked me again what I ordered, made it and then .... her ya go, kiss my a@@, thank you, sorry bout that .... NOTHING. For the drinks, it's Starbucks. You get what you order just like most other locations. So for that they get 5 stars! The wait in the morning is absolutely nuts. I've worked at a Starbucks drive thru before so I know ever if the line is long you can get the cars through pretty quick. This location seems to always take longer than most.
