Needed an afternoon pick me up after a big BBQ lunch. This is apparently a well known franchise in Texas that was recommended and one that was recommended to me by my bestie who is not even a Texan. The vibes are pretty chill and it looks like a good place to study and catch up on some work. They're known for their moon milk which I have learned is not just normal milk but a mix of milk, heavy cream, and vanilla flavoring apparently. I took some sips of my friends' iced coffee, which just tasted like standard iced coffee to me. I got their java chip moon glacier. Whopping 800 calories but it was my additional vacation treat of the day. Comes with whipped cream and it's java chips blended into their moon milk for an icy drink, think Frappucino but less creamy and a bit more watered down. Overall it was an alright drink but not enough of a pick me up for me. Maybe next time I'll try something different from their menu. read more

I tried the drive through and got blue moon (lavender), mocha moon and cinnamon moon coffee. The experience was quick and their staff were very friendly. The beans roasted with wood fire were very smooth and their "secret" moon milk recipe does the job well. It avoids a caffeine spike and balances the adrenaline. Moon milk is a modern take on millennia old Ayurvedic recipe of India which uses herbs like ashwagandha, shatavari, turmeric, ginger etc. they may have used some nootropic mushrooms like chaga or reishi. I highly recommend their coffee and this innovation. More coffee shops should emulate merging moon milk with their coffee to ensure your coffee is more calming and gut balancing. Their coffee is very, very good, and they have a nice selection of high quality coffees. The service is great, friendly and fast. The owner has been there whenever I visited. Well, I'm sure like me there are other non-coffee drinkers who get invited to have a coffee catchup with others and so I figured it was worth sharing that perspective here on Yelp (at least for them!). This location has ample parking in the shared shopping center lot and a drive-through window. What's also good is that they don't just have coffee. Some coffee shops can make non-coffee drinkers feel like they are looked down upon. However, Summer Moon seems to have something for everyone's tastes. Typing this as I sit here at home sipping on my absolutely nasty Summer Moon that I just ordered. Disappointing to say the least and coffee is inconsistent at best..... My wife and I frequent this location 7 days a week, 3-5 times a week my summer moon drink is never the same, always seems to be very tart like they missed the mark with moon milk........ I'm to the point where I'm exhausted having to bring it to their attention the next day that the prior days coffee was sub-par, I feel like they think I'm trying to get free drinks. On a side note: I believe it's super tacky and unprofessional to ask a customer if they would like to leave a tip while having a tip jar at the window that says something along the lines of "complaint jar, feel free to hand write your complaint on $1 and larger bills", maybe hit the mark first with your products!!!! read more

I love Summermoon coffee. I was excited to see this new location open on my route to Fredricksburg. it is the perfect spot to grab a morning coffee and a bite to eat. I didn't know that Summermoon locations are not all owned by the family that started the original. The Burnet Location in North Austin is actually a franchise, along with most of the others. This location is owned by the family itself. As a result, each Summermoon location will have unique differences. This location has a beautiful whimsical modern interior. Extremely cozy. The staff were incredibly friendly. Summermoon coffee is a family owned Austin business. They are unique in that they utilize the artisan craft of wood-fired coffee roasting using Texas Oak. They designed and built their roaster from scratch, and laid each brick by hand. It takes three people to custom hand-roast their coffee every day. They also have a special unique ingredient - Moon Milk! It is a super sweet milk substance (ingredients a mystery) that takes a typical latte to another level. read more

This is really tough for me. I love the Summermoon brand. I've been a regular at the Burnet location for a while. I just recently changed jobs and was so excited that there was a location on my way to my new job. Stopped in to find the prices are higher by 50 cents. $5 for a 16oz drink is even more expensive than the ever competitive Starbucks. Every time I pass this location it never is busy either. The half moon (my go to) I got wasn't very half moon-ish. The coffee seemed watered down and the signature moon milk flavor also seemed bland and lacking in the creaminess. The taco I got was good, needed salt but was decent size. The salsa was a copycat Doña sauce from Taco Deli and was great. Man, I wish the coffee had been better. The barista took my order when I walked in and he wasn't exactly lively lol. Maybe not a morning dude? The girl at the register (tablet?) was a sweetheart though and made sure my rewards transferred. It wasn't really quality Summermoon. Maybe they're expanding too quickly? I don't know, but it's lacking in the quality I've come to expect from this company, especially for a higher cost. read more

I come here multiple times a week and I can almost bet that my drink won't be made right. I'm writing this review in hopes that management will possibly retrain their employees to learn the difference between a full Summermoon and 1/4. It makes all the difference between a drinkable and completely wasted way too sweet drink and who has time to continuously return to the store to get a drink remade? I came through the drive through at this summer moon and I asked for an iced half Wintermoon. I got something that tasted like watered down milk with coffee. I hesitated on going back in to complain or ask for it to be remade but I went to the counter and ordered another coffee (intending to pay for it) but the clerk offered to replace the coffee I had already ordered. I took the coffee and left. While driving I took a sip of the replacement coffee and it tasted just as bad as the first one. So now I have two undrinkable coffees that are going to waste and I spent $6 on gross coffee that's going to be wasted anyway. This has never happened at any other Summer Moon location ever. I don't think I'll be coming back to this one anytime soon. read more

So much more room than other locations, incredibly kid friendly with a kid corner (kid chairs and a ton of toys), ultra clean, free WiFi, great porch, and pretty decor. Well, I finally stopped and tried this temporary trailer on a cool, foggy Monday. Perfect for a coffee. I got a Half-Moon, which has some sweetness to it. It was pretty darn good. At one end of the trailer is a small sitting area, inside, which is a good thing. A line of cars quickly formed so it appears this may be a good spot with some good coffee. I will update when I am out here again and also adjust the pin marker. The brick and mortar part still has a way to go. read more
