I have been visiting this Starbucks quite a bit in recent weeks. This location is open until 10 PM, has plenty of seating and electric outlets. YEAH! However, it is the evening staff that makes this a wonderful place. After one visit, the barista knew my name and my regular order. Many thanks to Holden, Spencer and the rest of the staff!! This is my favorite Starbucks location for studying/working in Austin. I know people tend to bash on Starbucks bc of their price, but if you're a Gold member and prioritize studying essentials (outlets, desks, comfy seats, fast service, etc.), then this is the location for you! YAYS: -SUPER fast service. There's always so many people working here, you'll be served fast and quick. I'm not sure of the other reviews that addressed the lack of attention to customers, but every time I visit, it was fine. I also stay for couple hours and no one else seemed to be treated differently? -As mentioned, there's a TON of seating available here. The decor is so modern and honestly, it's much nicer than any other coffee shops.. Wherever you're sitting, you'll always find a plug near you! -The lines inside are ALWAYS faster than drive-thru. Even if it seems busy inside, go inside and order. You can also order through the Starbucks app as well! -This is an odd "yay", but I loved their choice of music. I was visiting Austin for a work conference and stopped in at this Starbucks location. The staff was friendly and the service was great, however everyone looked overwhelmed and it took some time to get my order. OK...so, I've reviewed other Starbucks locations in the past and have always held a grudge. In recent years, SBucks has begun to become more involved in community based programs and environmental stewardship. I still don't really care for the coffee all that much. It's pretty standard and not much to write home about. I DO like this location and staff, however. I am able to get some good studying in. When I was looking for a place to apply and learn the grand art of coffee making, my first thought was Starbucks. I do, however, have to give props to the Anderson Lane Starbucks for being superb. They are open 24 hours. Yes, I said it. While a gazillion other Austin joints close as the evening rolls on, this Starbucks in the middle of North Austin goes strong and stays busy all through out the night.I showed up once at 3 am to find the place packed. Literally almost every spot taken. The staff were awake ( gasp!) smiling and friendly and the place is big, warm, spacious and has some dang good coffee. I had hoped to hear some good background music, find some sense of interest and camraderie among the late night customer base, and perhaps even find an Austin eclectic crew happily working the caffeine counter as an added bonus. What I found was ordinary. Plain, simple, functionally adequate, but ordinary nonetheless. And I need the Wow factor like I found at Epoch, the alternative 24-hour coffee spot I'll opt for next time around, which will most certainly be tomorrow night. In the meantime, I'll snag a cup of joe from a Starbucks when it is my option of least resistance, and I am in a most serious need situation...like last night. This is perhaps one of the busiest Starbucks I have ever seen. With an average of 10-15 cars in the drive thru at all times and the same number inside, this location's wait time is surprisingly minimal. Today however, "Linda from accounting" popped in with a 30 specialty drink order at 8am, rush hour. Every single one of those baristas was on their A game. Though the wait was a little longer than usual they were surprisingly efficient and kept their cool. I hope management will acknowledge every single person working this mornings shift. As this company grows it gets worse and worse. it is a mega cooperation. No care or finesse is taken now. Its like McDonald's, all they do is push a button. I feel that the syrups and flavors have gotten worse, and taste almost fake. The chocolate in the mocha taste like a chocolate flavored powder, not coco. When i pay $6 for a venti and a tip, i want it to taste hand made, real. i will give it to them for being able to make EVERY latte taste the same. Aside from the downtown location (which has sentimental value, mainly) this has got to be my favorite location. The people that work here are really nice, even when they're SLAMMED! They also get my order right every time, even when they are SLAMMED! Their pasties don't have that left-out-all-day taste to them either. I've run across that at the Oltorf location several times. Super pleasant staff. Decent beverage you'd expect from any Starbucks. Strong internet, though it can be a little slow. Fast moving line and a drive-thru. Huge capacity with plenty of outlets and couches. All of that above, make this place one of the better Starbucks I go to. I'll drive extra miles to skip one to get to this one. The new furnitures, which happened in all the locations in Austin, are ill fitting. Updated review due to CONTINUED issues with this location. The only reason I stop by at this point is because it's really close to my workplace and I have either a gift card or I'm really close to a free drink reward. I don't know how many times I order my drink iced, and make a specific point to clearly articulate and verify with the barista, it never fails that more than 50% of the time they give it to me hot! So more than half the time, they have to remake it. Further backing up the drive thru wait time. It's just ridiculous. I get frustrated when management doesn't take the time to read their own reviews to up their game. I've said it before and I'll say it again - go across the street to SORRENTO'S. First time visit and I can see what some Yelpers refer to with the overall attitude of order taking employees. Usually Starbucks has an atmosphere that is inviting and welcoming. I popped in while running errands before work and the employee behind the counter seemed more interested in getting me out of line so he could go back to standing there and waiting for the next guest. Odd considering that it wasn't busy. Anywho, the barista was friendly enough and they have a better selection than most in terms of merchandise - $1 reusable travel cups (first for me at the local locations I've been to). They are a bit larger of a location so maybe that has something to do with employee personality. I'd still stop by again if I was in the area but there isn't anything I can recall that would have me go out of my way to make a return trip. read more

The 2 stars is for the drive-thru. If there are more than 2 cars already in line (and frequently there's more than a dozen cars, it truly boggles my brain when there are other options near by) then I just keep driving. It is possibly the sloooooowest drive-thru ever. Yesterday with just one car in front of me I waited over 8 minutes. I about gave up (and probably should have). I'm not sure why it takes so long. I've been inside a couple of times and it seems very normal. The staff is friendly, the selection is a normal Starbucks. Just avoid the drive-thru if you can. They've got an amazing location (right on the way to Mopac) so its convenience can't be beat. They'll have to do something once Epoch opens its new store next to the Village to keep up. read more

The coffee is always good, they're super nice if they screw up my order, and even though they're busy they're friendly at least 90% of the time. I've been going there for enough years now to crush on various people who work there in and out of phases. They always earn every bit of their tips. I love this Starbucks! They are super nice and speedy. The interior is pretty big for a Starbucks (IMO) and has a cozy atmosphere. There are usually a lot of people inside but not so many that it's crowded. The drive thru gets really long but I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes and that was definitely the longest I've waited in that line by a long shot! Glad this Starbucks is the closest one to me. : ) read more

I gave it five stars because they make the products well, and the service is always excellent. I must say the new cloud macchiato tastes just like a café Americano. I had a really unpleasant experience this morning. I showed up to this location at six in the morning. I was the only person standing at the counter, with three employees behind it. Two were preparing orders, and one was refilling cup holders. It took 25 seconds for me to get an apathetic greeting, and a "I'll be with you in a minute". It's six in the morning; I'm not here because I have time to kill while you do restock work. I ordered an iced coffee they somehow managed to screw up. I don't like writing bad reviews, however I used to be an opener for a competitor chain coffee shop. I would have lost my job if I gave a customer the experience I had. The entire experience made me feel very unwelcome. I'm not visiting this location again, and I'm sending a complaint to corporate. I'm getting fed up with Starbucks baristas that have more attitude than aptitude. read more

I'd decided that I would treat myself to a caramel macchiato and I was excited to try it with their "new" (aka reintroduced) sea salt caramel (I'd had it in a frappuccino before and it. was. AMAZEBALLS). So in I go, practically drooling at the thought of the salty-sweet nectar of gods that will soon enter my mouth. I await eagerly at the counter until the barista/cashier approaches and mutters "what can I get you?". I ask about using the sea salt caramel in a caramel macchiato and the transaction is made. Now folks, no amount of beaming and cheeriness could get this girl to crack a smile...and believe me, I tried (I even tipped her! wtf is wrong with me?). By the end of our interaction, I was a little bummed...no smiles, I was rung up for a grande drink (I wasn't asked what size, she just assumed), and I was so distracted/excited that I forgot to get soy milk (my bad, but I really think they should confirm the milk with you). I get my drink after a brief wait and there are GOBS of caramel in there, but it's NOT sea salt caramel! Srsly? They couldn't even get that right! I credit that to a lack of communication between "cashier-barista" and "barista-barista", but come on...you're like 8 feet from each other. Communicate, people. read more

Fortunately, this Starbucks is the best one in the area and has always had pretty quick service, despite the way the line looks like it wraps around the building. There was only one time that I went on a Starbucks run for my siblings and myself and my brother had asked for a medicine ball tea. They were out of the base tea so the person taking my order was kind enough to suggest some other options, including substituting another herbal tea in place of the peach one (I think it was mint something) with the added warning that it would be "very minty" to which I agreed because I don't know what else to get there. I got to the window quickly and paid and even included a tip because I was grateful for the help with finding a solution. However, the server at the window left the window open while my order was still being prepared (which I know is customary for drive thru stores to do) but while I was waiting, I could hear other employees commenting my order and saying how they would "never want something that minty" and that there was practically no sweetness but that I insisted. So when I finally received the rest of my drinks, I asked for a bunch of honey and held my tongue because I didn't want to make anyone feel badly while already working on a holiday (thanksgiving day) but I really wish I hadn't left a tip. Instead, I would like to suggest to the drive thru window employees to either be aware that people can hear what you are saying right there, especially if the window is open, but also to go ahead and close the window if you don't intend to keep a conversation with the customer or if there is a wait and you are having trouble with an order read more

I tend to hang around here a lot since it's close to everything I do. I usually have no trouble finding seats and there is a good vibe. Getting drinks can take time depending on how many people are in the line. My orders have came out properly so no problems there. At some times of the day the drive thru is crowded and backed up.
