Slowest Starbucks of my life. I consistantly see cars getting in line and then leaving. If you're going to wait try to plan to have things to do in your car. (Like writing a review!) This location is roomy, with working wifi (click-thru license required) and comfy seating. I'm not a fan of their normal roast of coffee--too strong--but the new "blond roast" is pretty decent. I parked in the lot of the adjacent shopping center, as the drive-thru and tiny parking lot seemed prone to locking me in. Not sure if I'd make this a "destination" coffee place... (A little further up Anderson on the other side of Burnet is Genuine Joe, which in my opinion is worth making a trip for.) But if you're in the area it's not a bad place to stop. read more

For all I feel icky about supporting a chain over local coffee houses, this one does the trick in a pinch when the locals are closed or when the electricity goes out in the neighborhood. The baristas are always really patient considering the lines, and there's always room to sit and work - or chat with your neighbors. If you're walking here, be wary that the drive-thru has people exiting on Rockwood and so you should watch your steps when coming around the blind corner for people with their coffee will run over you. The easiest pedestrian entrance is on the Anderson side though there's one on Rockwood as well (you'll have to meander through the sitting area if you choose this option). read more

Who knows why I felt compelled to write a review about Starbucks? This is the main Starbuck's I go to because of location but mostly because of the drive up. There are plenty of tables. I've not noticed them being dirty. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. This is an older building but there is plenty of parking. I fight with myself over my Starbuck's habit and try to keep myself in check. Regardless of the price, which is steep I seem to no longer like the coffee from other places (including home) which is the downsize of the caffeine addiction. read more

I would definitely keep my eye out on the brand new closing cashier he is not the brightest color in the box. He doesn't understand how to use the apps for discounts anf he doesn't know what the lunch specials are, they are posted up (don't you work here? !) and he certainly takes his time just to ring up one item. He also charged me for a different type of cookie that I ordered because he said he couldn't find the one I ordered on the screen. We all know that most items do not cost the same ,... as a penny pincher this concerned me. He even commented on the fact that he didn't realize that I could see everything he charged me for that was the most concerning!! I worked at a coffeehouse in college way before coffeehouses became cool. I was a barista before people knew what that word meant. We didn't have tall, grande, or venti - we just used small, medium, and large. At that point, mocha cappuccino quite wasn't a mainstream drink. And we certainly did not have a Frappuccino. Maybe it's reliving my barista days, but I love everything Starbucks. I really do. I love the atmosphere, the drinks, and their story. I love hanging out at a SB, typing away on my laptop (this review not written at a SB). I love SB so much that when I visited Seattle, the first place I went was the original Starbucks. I even convinced my group to do our marketing project on Starbucks for our MBA. And guess what book I'm reading right now - that's right, "Onward" by Howard Schultz (CEO, Starbucks). So why the 2 star? As much as I am a SB fanatic, I do not like this particular location. The store is big - much bigger than other locations. And it's easy to find parking. But being one of the busier location is their downfall. Because of size and constant customer traffic, they aren't very good at keeping the location looking tidy. There's newspaper everywhere which can be a good thing, but sometimes just makes the place look messy. This is further excerbated by their drive-thru. Because drive-thrus have to be served at a faster rate, they focus more on the cars instead of people already standing in line. Nothing more frustrating to see 3-4 baristas serving drive thru while one person is handling foot traffic. This location also isn't conducive for studying - they have more couches than tables/chair configuration. But the biggest gripe is that this location is the worst when it comes to getting my drink right. No matter how many times I tell them to put soy, it always comes out with regular milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, but I like the taste of soy better - think it adds better taste to the coffee. I still love Starbucks and will go to this one to get my drink on. However, I will have to explicitly tell them "with soy" about 3 times. And for anyone who've seen Brad Paisley's "Celebrity" video, I soooo want to take the coffee and do everything that Jason Alexander did to the barista in the video and say "do you taste soy???". read more

Ordered the Cloud Iced Macchiato a few days ago- the first time I ordered it, it was perfect. It had the right foam to milk and espresso ratio and tasted amazing. Came back today for a second and instead got what looked like just a regular milked iced coffee. Barley any foam on top it had a very thin white milky layer on the bottom. I was confused , and said sorry that's not what I ordered - he insisted it was the cloud macchiato but I had to send it back for a refund, (no foam , no caramel, it was all just mixed together) talk about a disappointment! Barista's, PLEASE practice perfecting these "cloud" iced macchiatos its called cloud for a reason (FOAM) customers know what they are ordering, some don't complain but if I'm paying 7$ a cup for this - it better be what I'm paying for. Tuesday June 5 / 9:30pm First 5 to that girl who prepare my coffee. Today. There was 2 young girls inside,and 1 In the lobby area.She was really friendly with others. we sat outside,me and my wife and my daughter. This was like at 9:45 pm. This woman even said goodbye to a client by name. we try to engage in conversation with her while she was outside folding the umbrellas moving the chairs during I was sitting with my family. On one of those patio tables . but she reused to talk never answered me. which my wife and daughter told me it was not right. Well we left the store. We did not finish ours coffees since she was outside maybe waiting. To take ours chair away and fold the last umbrella. Well while we were walking towards our car she was packing the orange cones from the entrance. a customer was still outside which helped her to move the cones. I really don't not know if she wanted to go home soon, or that man was waiting for her, or was it just tired at the end of the day, which the girls behind the bar were not. To me I feels like she makes difference between customers I hope is not that because you must treat all you customer same way. Please excuse my bad typing read more

I am not a typical Austin hipster who despises all things corperate. Starbucks has pretty good coffee. Prices have gone up this year, but it still remains a great place to chill and have a quality caffinated beverage. I support my local coffee shops, but Starbucks has gone big and corperate because they simply have great cofee. I both like and dislike this location. Parking is ample and I like the 24/7 aspect (I crave Passion Tea at all hours) but actually getting INTO the parking lot is a nightmare. The service is decent, the drinks are on par with the rest of the chain, and I haven't had any problems with the Wifi when I spent several hours there. Reason for 2 stars. When I first moved to Austin, this place was one of few Coffee Houses that was open 24hrs but not anymore. Also, their Wi-Fi connection back then was pretty strong with no signal fall out but now when the place get's busy and everyone has their laptops open, the signal strength drops and sometimes none existent. On the positive side, the location is great. Plenty of parking along with an outside seating that keeps you entertained with the traffic zooming by or stopping. The Baristas are pretty cool. Plenty of good restaurants around Anderson Lane that's all walking distance to this place. read more

My wife and I have had several problems with this Starbucks. They don't seem to be on the same page as corporate with promotions. When they do honor promotions, the cashiers act like they're doing you a favor - like this is a special store. During our last visit there, multiple workers read the email that my wife pointed out to them from Starbucks on her phone and they both said it was wrong. I currently have Starbucks Gold status. I don't know if the management is poor, the employees are overworked or underpaid, or what's the problem. The people that work there seemed lifeless and not helpful. The store is not very clean and the bathrooms tend to not be in great shape. Ok, I feel a little ridiculous having to write a review of "just" a standard Starbucks coffee shop, but they apparently do vary and this one is to be avoided if possible. read more

We went through the drive-thru at 8:02 pm on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. I ordered a venti decaf iced vanilla latte and a tall strawberry refresher. When we got to the window, we waited for a full five minutes before the man at the window (who's name I, unfortunately, did not get) scanned my phone app for payment and then tried to hand us a frappuccino of some sort. I informed him that this was not what we ordered. I repeated the order back to him and he said that he didn't have it on his screen and then closed the window, presumably to look for our drinks. After another couple of minutes, he came back and asked if the iced coffee was sweetened. At this point, unhappy with the poor service we were receiving, I told him to forget about it because I did not want to wait for him to remake the drinks. He told me that they were right there, he just wanted to make sure they were right. I told him my drink order again. He disappeared for a minute and then came back and handed me two venti iced coffees and said, very condescendingly, "See, if you're patient you get free drinks." Neither of these drinks was correct for what we ordered, and we still never got our correct order. He was incredibly rude and made no effort to apologize for or correct his mistake. Every time we go to this store, the staff is slow, the drinks are either made wrong or take forever, and the service is just generally awful. read more

This place has really let me down. Closing at 4:30 in 30 degree weather isn't terrible. It's the way it was handled. The case of "food" was near empty, they refused to make certain drinks by 4pm, and were roughly yelling about "the doors will be locked at 4:30" to each other. This is a nice store, really big and roomy. I've been here twice, my first experience was long, but nice partners on shifted my some good connections and they made my drink correctly. Today some long wait, but instead of getting my extra dry cappuccino and got and extra hot extra foam latte and I just didn't care for it. Sorry...I'm fed up enough to where I have to give a review. I hate giving these types of reviews. This Starbucks is BAD. I've spent at least $7 almost every day here for the past year or so (I know, a waste of money, but its my one guilty vice in the morning when I need to get to work quickly). I've been going to this Starbucks because of the relative proximity to MoPac and the convenience of the drive through. So here's my issues: 1) The quality of the products here has gone downhill quickly. I usually get an instant oatmeal and either a coffee or a chai latte. The Oatmeal is almost always all water and no oatmeal (yes, even after waiting 10 minutes or so for it to steep) This is so much the case that I've had to drive back in 3 times now, park the car, go into the store, wait in line (usually another 10 minutes) with my cup of water and get my money back or another oatmeal. That's NOT very convenient considering that I went through the drive-thru specifically for convenience. This isn't counting the number of times when I just ditch my breakfast because it's improperly made because I'm in a rush. In short, there is always *some* problem, either with the drink or the oatmeal. 2) They always seem to be out-of-stock on something I want. Sometimes, I'll wait in the drive through for 10 minutes, only to get to the loudspeaker and ask for something only to find out they don't have it -- "Hi, can I have an Oatmeal? -- sorry sir we're all out of it" "Okay, can I have a bagel? -- sorry sir all out of that too" "Okay, how about a muffin -- No, sir, sorry" do you have some nuts then? "Nope..." Great....we'll I've been here 15 minutes already and came up with nothing. 3) The potholes. The freaking potholes. Why can't they fix them once and for all? The same pothole in front of the window keeps coming back bigger and and bigger like before. I can't tell you how many times I've smacked my front tire into that thing, despite trying to avoid it. 4) The people who work there are very nice, but if you have an order that deviates from the normal course of business, the place seems to short circuit. A couple of times, when I get to the window, they've actually given me my watery oatmeal upside-down -- yep, upside down, lid at the bottom. At one point the thing was dripping all over me as I brought it in the window of my car. As I said the folks are very nice, it seems, but I think my relatively complex order for oatmeal seems to turn the place upside down for a moment. I wish there was someone to talk to there...but everyone is ridiculously busy in there and they seem to have a get in, get out mentality -- even on the inside (not the drive thru, where you can understand it) Anyway, I'm sorry about having to write this, but I think I've been inconvenienced now enough times to where I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Parmer and hit the drive through there. read more

I work at this location, and just wanted to clarify we're no longer 24 hours! The hours, for those of you who are interested are from 5:30 am - 10:30 pm on sundays-thursdays and 5:30 am-11pm on fridays and saturdays! As for service, I'm a little biased! xp But of course, I'd love to believe we provide you with legendary service. I will say that this location is the busiest location in Austin, as such we have a larger lobby for your convenience, although it might be a little crowded at times. Not too many outlets for you laptops though! We are opened the latest in Austin, and have a variety of... shall we say.. colorful regulars... one of which was mentioned below as the OCD. He's harmless, no worries there, although you wouldn't be alone should you feel uncomfortable around him. Hope you guys love our store as much as we do! read more

I never review places I've only been to once. Why? Because. If you have a bad experience, it could be a total fluke. Everyone has bad days. Things happens. People make mistakes. It doesn't really seem fair to me to make my opinion (and post it all over the internet) without giving people the benefit of the doubt. Restaurants run like a well-oiled machine. One kink can mess everyone up for the whole day and it isn't necessarily anyone's "fault." Today however, I am breaking my own rules. I'll just tell you what happened and you guys can all decide individually, for yourselves, if this is the place you want to give your business. I went to this drive-thru this morning, which I don't usually do just because I live on the opposite side of town. I waited in line (it did move quickly). When it was my turn I ordered a soda (which is listed and pictured on the menu) and the girl in the magic box responded with, "**Sigh** We don't have sodas at this store. I have refreshers and sparkling juices." I normally don't order cold drinks from Starbucks, so I wasn't sure what a refresher was and I was frantically looking for the juice choices. I began to ask and this is what I got out, "Ok. I see the sodas, but I don't see..." This is when I was cut off with, "I just said there are NO SODAS. AT. THIS. STORE! I have REFRESSSSSHHHERS and JUUUICES!" Since I didn't get to ask my question and I still didn't know what a refresher was, I told her never mind, I don't care for anything. And I left. With nothing. I was totally flabbergasted by her anger and irritated-ness. So..... I'm sorry I don't know the menu (I don't work here.) There are things listed and pictured on the menu that you don't have at all and you're talking to me like I'M stupid? What the actual heeelllllll? We drove away and my husband said, "daaaaaamn. What was heeeerrrr problem?" Again, this may be one of those flukes. Maybe homegirl was having a terrible day at 9 this morning and just couldn't. even. Starbucks isn't a company I expected to let employees bring that to work and take it out on people, but whatever, they have like a billion customers. What's just one fewer?? I like to give places a second try, but I can absolutely not go back to a business that treats me like a bitch and voluntarily give them my money. Luckily there is coffee all over the city. This Starbucks is very polar. On one hand, it's one of the biggest locations, has a drive thru and notably is the only location in Austin with TWO large tables, for those who use SB as a second office like me. On the other hand, the cashiers are especially moody and I've witnessed an exceptionally large number of barista-patron confrontations and I spend a lot of time at a lot of Starbuckses(?). The worst worst part however is the wifi! It essentially does not work 100% of the time. Only come here if you're going to converse or have a paper newspaper. To end on a happy note, though, they just got new hot sandwiches in today! A simple Egg & Cheese ($2.95), Ham & Swiss on a croissant ($4.25), and Vegetable & Fontiago on multigrain ($4.25). These are about the same size as their paninis, but about $2 cheaper. Great for working girls like me who get about 57% of their daily sustenance from Starbucks! read more

Large and not busy, (at least at 6:30 on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend) I'm only staying for a few hours to get some studying in. I like that it's not busy and it's well lit! Definitely helps me be productive (although I'm procrastinating writing this review right now.) I ordered a grande caramel coffee with steamed half and half but the barista forgot the steamed half and half. Not a big deal but the store isn't busy.... My brother, boyfriend and I go to this location quite frequently and always have a rude experience with the staff. A. We're always greeted poorly and given impatient behavior from the cashiers. Today's was just so spectacularly awful I needed to give a review. We walk in and are trying to order during they're happy hour offer. The gentleman taking our order seems disturbed and just angry. I didn't think much of it until he became disturbingly impatient. He then continues by giving a disrespectful tone after he finishes taking our order, like he's doing us a favor by taking our order. When he's giving our drinks out, he practically some how slams and drops our drinks onto the counter top in a rude format. He gets one of our orders wrong too. I was so disgusted by the behavior from the barista I just wanted to leave. This was the most unpleasant experience we've had to date at this location. I do not recommend coming to this location. If I could I'd give this place 0/5 stars. The treat they're customers poorly. read more

i agree with Susie... most of the indie coffee shops tend to stay open until 11 with many even earlier- a small number may stay open til 2am or maybe 3am on weekends. that's about it - so if your craving late night or early morning coffee - this Starbucks which isn't really located next to the freeway is open - 24 hours! in fact this late at night Anderson road is pretty dead except in front of Starbucks. many nights are pretty warm or comfortably cool in Austin so you'll even see people outside drinking coffee at this hour. finding a seat can be tough especially near the hear music kiosks. still sadly its Starbucks which is kind of tilting to the evil side with walmart these days. read more

My favorite Starbucks. Partly for location but it's busy but not over the top busy ... I can find a seat and I can park. I usually bypass the drive-through (too long line) and go in. Having previously worked at a Starbucks for four years, I know that the drive thru can get hectic, and because of my experience on the other side of the counter, I'd like to think I'm a fairly compassionate and understanding person. Furthermore, this location gets a lot of traffic. However, there is no excuse for the experience I had here today. After ordering an iced latte, I'm asked to pull around (order was not repeated to me nor was a total given.) Twenty minutes later (yes, you read that right) I get to the window. The girl attempts to shove a hot latte out said window; I insist I ordered iced. She literally says nothing; she rolls her eyes and sets off on begging another barista to remake it. At this point, I'm furious. Not only am I getting treated snarkily (is that a word?) for something that wasn't my fault, the barista makes no attempt to apologize for the mistake. This is usually Starbucks barista training 101- make sure the customer leaves with a smile on their face. That is also why Starbucks issues "recovery certificates"- for situations such as these (I've handed them out in far less terrible situations.) When I asked for one, the girl leaves- and I'm left stranded at the window for another five minutes with no explanation. Finally, a man (the manager? who knows, as he didn't say a word to me) hands me a recovery certificate. No "I'm sorry," no nothing. To be honest, I would have much preferred a shred of human sincerity, a glance, anything- instead of the $4 off I was hastily handed for my next drink. To sum up- if you enjoy 25 minute drive thru waits, incorrect orders, and snarky baristas, you've found your Starbucks. read more

This is my 3rd choice Starbucks in Austin, but my first choice when I'm around Burnet & Anderson. I like their drive through and it's quite large for your average Starbucks. The only reason I don't give it four stars it's always SO crowded. This isn't their fault, but if you're in a hurry and need a 'bux fix, skip this location unless you can see there are few to no cars out front. The drive-through is usually backed up into the strip center parking lot *and* out onto Anderson. Besides the wait, it's pretty ok. read more
