I adore this Starbucks; it gives off work and playful vibes. My plan was just to stop in for a quick latte, but the atmosphere screams, "sit down!" So I did and pulled out my laptop. But I couldn't stay sitting because of a client call. So I went to my car to finish my Gingerbread Chai Latte and cookie, and that is when I noticed I even liked the parking lot. This Starbucks sits in a very huge area with stores and restaurants. It has a woody feel this time of the year. I also like the huge outside sitting area. But let's talk about the inside. It's huge, and it goes back a long way. There's plenty of seating, and the lights are a bit dim. I wished I could have taken more pictures, but it was crowded. But next time, I'll go early in the morning so you can see how huge the space is. And yes, the coffee is always good! read more

The service was good and the woman behind the counter taking orders and making the drinks was friendly. I ordered a piece of pumpkin bread and a piece of banana nut bread. The pumpkin bread is really good. It's soft and very flavorful. The banana nut bread was also good and it was just as soft as the pumpkin bread. Operation: This Starbucks May be one of the most well ran and operated Starbucks I've been in. There's ample seating for working included soft comfy chairs or regular chairs at a table. The STAFF! I hope the hiring manager stays the same forever because every single time I've come in here, they are smiling, very welcoming, and very communicative naturally. In the mornings before work, it's usually pretty busy and they have a dedicated person who is always very outgoing manning the drink station and calling out names and organizing the items. Often they will also just walk your drink and food out if you are sitting down. ***In addition, there's one, I believe manager (she's shorter, straight dark hair), who has fixed a couple mistakes they've made on my drinks, with OVER THE TOP customer service. Atmosphere: this location has a lot of business people in and out and working remote, along with a lot of kids from the community which creates a really welcoming safe environment. **Con: The ONLY con. The music is always playing pretty loud which makes it hard for me personally to want to sit in here and work myself. I think if they just turned it down a bit so the music was more of a background sound versus the overall focus, that would absolutely put this place at a 100! First impressions are important. The way a customer is welcomed and interacted with can make or break the experience. When I walked into this location, I was immediately acknowledged by the manager of this location; Tim. He not only greeted me with enthusiasm but had the same upbeat demeanor with each customer who came in. While every Stabucks is generally the same (same menu, almost identical layouts), the service is usually what makes people want to return. When I placed my order, I scanned the app on my phone and because my information is in my app, I didn't need to give my name, etc. as the app has that stored. This is the first time, I wasn't asked for a name for my order. I had no idea the app had an upgrade! This is definitely one of the best Starbuck's in Austin. Since this Pandemic started I've been going to a bunch of different Starbuck's in a lot of places just to get out of the house. Last week one of my regular places was closed until 8 am unusually. I couldn't go through the drive-through as I was on my motorcycle. I went to another. It too was closed at 7:30, although the sign said it opened at 7. I went to a third location. Their Nitro Brew machine wasn't working, so I couldn't get my drink of choice. Not only that, no one at this particular store knows where the pepper is. I like pepper on my egg bites, but they don't "have" it at this store. I guess with all the issues going on in the world today this is a high class problem. That was a very disappointing Starbuck's day for me though. This store is special due to the terrific staff there. There's one Barista, Jeremy, who's just amazing. Not only is he really nice, friendly and funny, but he knows everything about all of their drinks and food. They always have pepper and anything else I want or need. When I mentioned how nice it was that they had pepper, he gave me a few extra packets in a bag to take with me. Very refreshing and fun to see someone who takes such pride in doing a great job and truly enjoys interacting with his clientele. read more

About a less than a week ago now I had gotten a drink here for my free reward. It was the pink ombré drink. Something I never had but wanted to change it up due to it being very hot outside. I took my drink to go and tried it in my car on the way to my appointment. I took two sips and was grossed out. My old army friend is a barista in a different state. She suggested I go back and they will make it right. I told her I already dumped my drink at my appointment. She suggested I either go back or email Starbucks Background:The employees were great at this location and always have been. I was never aware if I didn't like a drink I could ask for something else. I one of those people even at a restaurant I won't send food back just in case an employee is disgruntled and my food is their target. I did email Starbucks and they took care of everything. I also received a voice mail from the manager at this location. I haven't had a chance to call them back yet. I haven't had this type of awesome customer service in a long time. This Starbucks is always pretty busy. If you are wanting to be in the peace & quiet, this may not be the place for you. A lot of friends, business partners, stay at home wives with their girlfriends chatting non stop. If you want to be in your own little world, bring some headphones or go across the street to the more quiet coffee shop. I never liked Starbucks until this location. Other Starbucks always seemed overpriced, impersonal, and poor-tasting. This location seems overpriced as usual but the service and atmosphere are worth it. The customers and staff are so friendly--it is like Utopia. This Starbucks has lots of outdoor light and even some outdoor tables. Their mocha was good. They put a little green stick inside your coffee cup. I asked for a receipt one day and they told me no they couldn't give it to me because their machine wasn't working. They're always out of something! You'd think that at 8am they would know that they should expect people to want food but apparently they never have enough. Tight space so it's crowded and cramped all the time. Very disappointed in this location and will always be going to the location near my work in Oak Hill. I ordered the frothy cappuccino and was shocked how bad it tasted seems like it had some kind of soapy taste. I threw it away in the garbage can heading to GNC I the shopping mall. I wish they had better tasting coffee like they used to. How I long for wonderful coffee. Seemed like they going downhill. While I was there another women also complaint about her latte. My favorite was the Skinny pumpkin spice latte which was a favorite for me but seasonal. I now go to other coffee shops in Westlake but not this location.....very disappointing. SO SAD :( read more

I visit Austin roughly once a month and come to this Starbucks every morning that I am in town (my company's office is across the street). I order the same thing every time and I am probably the only one who orders it in this area -- an iced cappuccino -- which I should point out, is an actual Starbucks menu item. However, I assume it gets ordered very rarely outside of the east coast. When I am traveling on the east coast, nobody questions the drink and everywhere else they kind of look confused and I have to explain it to them. At this particular Starbucks though, I have managed to have Becca take my order the last three times I have visited and she always makes me repeat myself. Then when I explain that I really do want an iced cappuccino she gets all snotty and poor attitude. I'm really not sure why all the attitude when I order my coffee but evidently she has something against iced cappuccinos... Update: 08/17/16: I have been in roughly a dozen times since my review above. I no longer drink an iced cappuccino and instead drink a strawberry smoothie. I've been in several times, and each time has been very busy. The last time I went in, there was (surprisingly!) no line and two baristas - one behind the bar and one restocking. I picked up a premade tea and proceeded to wait an uncomfortably long time before I was acknowledged because the baristas were in the middle of a conversation with each other... and when one finally came to the register, there was no smile or greeting (or apology...) but just annoyance that I was there to buy something. It's true, this Starbucks location is the best. Sometimes I question whether I should be utterly ashamed that they know me by name, as well as my typical order (I swear I don't go there THAT often, I'm just a creature of habit and get the same exact thing everytime because I'm oh so adventurous), however I'm actually very thankful and I think it's an accurate display of the staff's friendliness and great service. These assholes think it's okay to call a coffee "chai" and serve it to someone with a coffee allergy. I had been burned before so I always check with the barista that I am getting the correct drink. This guy looked me in the eye and told me it was a chai, I take a sip and five seconds later my throat is closing up. It didn't make me feel any better that the staff then proceeded to blame me for the mix up. Was at Starbucks @ Hwy. 71/Bee Caves Rd. on 12/07/18 around 9:50am. A dark haired woman with her hair pulled back in a pony tail and who had on a black Starbucks hat was working the cash register. A customer in front of me ordered a breakfast sandwich that was not wrapped and was behind the glass case. The woman employee working the cash register pulled the sandwich off the plate behind the glass case without wearing rubber gloves and didn't use the tongs. She then went back to handling transactions/money at the cash register! This was not only gross, but totally against food handling regulations! read more
