I'm kind of torn on this Starbucks to be honest. I really WANT to give them 5 stars. Baristas are friendly enough, and they have the best hours. After moving to Bakersfield, I was on a quest to find the latest opened place, and this is it. Their cafe is open till 11pm, and the drive thru closes at 12. However....my iced drinks are always loaded with ice. I'm talking so-stuffed-with-ice-I-can't-push-my-straw-through-to-the-bottom loaded. Which is a little ridiculous. I get almost no drink, and tons of ice. But who am I kidding, if I have to get some studying done I'm coming here regardless. read more

Driving into this town starts to make you feel miles away from civilization and closer to country living. Is it going to be local town coffee shop or the usual customized coffee the way I like it at Starbucks? I'd normally go to the local coffee shop, but given my immediate caffeine need I chose otherwise. So...I programmed the nearest Starbucks into Mr. Tom Tom and off I went. This coffee house is located in a strip mall surrounded by familiar retail stores. A bit of home all in one lot. Yay! Saw the green sign located above the doors. "Coffeeeee!!!" I walked in. Took in that coffee aroma that one loves especially in the mornings. Immediately greeted by an employee, "Welcome to Starbucks, what can I get for you?" Service = Outstanding! Despite the ''customer service'' board tacked up on the wall behind the cashier which stated how to better serve their customers, she (the cashier) had kept me engaged throughout my whole coffee purchase experience. Abiding by every bullet point on that very board. Also after acquiring my first name for the drink, she restated my name multiple times to show that they care. Impressive! This is your run of the mill drive-thru Starbucks, but it's location, decor, and layout makes it ideal for studying or meetings as opposed to just hanging out. I went in there for a one-on-one meeting at around 11am-1:30pm on a Friday, and it never got noisy enough for either of us to have to raise our voice or have to repeat what we said. This has not been the case to other Starbucks that I've been to in the area. The patio is not covered and there weren't any umbrellas at any of the tables. There is a wall that is one long bench with at least 4 outlets at the base of bench, with at least as many small tables and chairs. There are a few other stand alone tables near the large windows. The service was standard Starbucks service. All I ever get anymore is a blonde coffee or a tea. The staff at the cash register were both cheery & prompt. read more

Only because I can't go LOWER than 1 star!!! Almost 90%of the time I go through this drive through something is completely WRONG with my drink. I am a creature of habit and order the same drink almost 99% of the time and these incompetent minimum wage a-holes at the drive thru SUCK BIG BALLS!!! They get the wrong drink all together, wrong recipe, too cold, too hot, wrong size, etc.... You want a great coffee drive thru STARBUCKS around NW ROSEDALE, Go to Starbucks off Hageman/Calloway or Rosedale/Allen. They are sooooo much better!! read more

Some of the worst costumer service I've experienced.  I went in to purchase coffee beans yesterday. I asked the barista if I could purchase half a pound of the blonde roast that's used every morning. He said, "I guess. I've never done that before but okay." His shift supervisor kept looking over but never stepped in to assist him and we could all see that he was unsure and needed help. He scooped the beans into a pasty bag then put a sticker on the bag to close it. I asked for a bag that rolls down and folds and he said they don't have any. When it came time to ring it up he couldn't find the 1/2 pound button for blonde and his shift supervisor finally came over to look for the button which seemed like such an exhausting task to her. She couldn't find it and said "we can't sell you that." Then she walked away. She said nothing else. The barista helping me too said nothing else so I walked out. For whatever reason Starbucks doesn't sell 1/2 pounds of their whole bean coffee but that's not the issue I have. The customer service during my visit to Starbucks yesterday was pathetic. Neither of the baristas apologized for the inconvenience nor did they ask if I'd like to buy a full pound instead. They did nothing to try to resolve the situation. read more

If you've been to Starbucks before, it is similar to all the others. Service is good and I have never had any issues before. Also, there is a drive-thru! Be warned, this location is busy and the drive-thru can take a while at peak hours (morning and weekend afternoons based on my experience). It is in a central location however so it's understandable. (Off busy Rosedale with a Panda Express, Target, Khols, etc in the same big lot). If you are looking for a Starbucks fix, you can get it here. read more

I ordered an iced Americano at 11:32 a.m. the drink was fine, but the customer service was TERRIBLE at the window. Unfortunately, did not get her name. Not even a hello from her as I pulled up. And when my drink was handed to me, not "a have a nice day", not even a simple "thanks". Not what I would expect from Starbucks. Rated 2 1/2 stars, however, because Krista the shift supervisor promised to speak with the worker and said she would comp a drink next time I went in. Otherwise, would rate 1 star. read more

Came in on July 25 around noon, very poor costumer service, I tried to get 3 sugarfree drinks because I'm diabetic same for my family. I was trying to ask for options but the cashier who apparently is the "manager" as well had an attitude, and was very unhelpful and impatient. I was trying to ask her a few drinks if they had sugar or which lattes/frapp can we get thats sugar free she responded with I wouldn't know that. when she called out my name I accidentally grabbed a drink I thought it was ours because I ordered the same and she responded rudely that's not your we're still making your matcha. I observed she acted the same with the next following costumers and talked to them condescendingly. I understand we all have our good and bad days I get that and I've worked in the restaurant industry in my early 20s. I rarely confront anyone but I was disturbed with her attitude so I asked her who's manager and she said it was her. I told her my observations and that there's no reason to act that way, and she was very rude and impatient. I left it at that. Just a thought if she's a manager she obviously needs a lot more training and doesnt deserve her position with her costumer service skills. Anyways my drink turned out awfull idk if it was because it was rushed. The others tasted good. Not sharing to get that employee in trouble but wanted to speak out so maybe actual management can pay attention to how their employees treat their costumers. As a manager as well I would like to know if my staff needs retraining. read more

Starbucks strikes again. Arrived at 10:28 pm and stood at the counter waiting to order. The staff behind the counter intentionally ignored me until the clock reached 10:30 then told me they are now closed. This used to be my favorite store but definitely will not return. These employees really don't care about customer service. I am surprised the customers sitting in the store, were not asked to leave, of course they were Caucasian customers.I guess a Hispanic customer can't get service at this store which probably explains why I was ignored. I love this Starbucks !! I have been coming here for years . The store is always clean all the employees are friendly & Helpful.. Yesterday I went they there around 3:25 the employee Jay at the window has exceptional .. She let me know that they could reload my card right there with my change that was left or I could add it before I ordered to get my rewards .. I have seen this one employee many times . So there are two stores. One is on Rosedale and Calloway and the other is on Hageman and Calloway. I got them mixed up and went to the wrong store. My grandpa was in a hurry and if I told him it was the wrong store we would have left and drove home. Luckily, a very nice man told me that if I showed him the receipt, he would make it for me there. I really appreciated that since it was MY mess up. When I got my drink (which was surprisingly fast) it was just how I liked it, a caramel ribbon crunch with extra crunch and extra caramel sauce. (Usually when I say extra they don't put very much extra but they put like 3x the normal amount which was amazing). I frequent this Sbux more than any of the others, primarily because it is always open later than any of the other locations - open til midnight 7 days a week. I have never had a burnt shot (not even ONCE!) and the barristas are always so friendly. I've cruised through their drive-through at 5 minutes til midnight with nary a complaint, nor rolled eyes from them. I once had a friend who went through their drive through only to discover, when she got up to the window, that she'd accidentally left her wallet at work. She apologized for wasting their time and coffee and was going to drive away when they told her to just go ahead and take it since they'd already made it. She drove back the next day to pay for it (and probably leave a healthy tip). Now, she wasn't a first time customer (she goes there even more often than I do) but it was still very nice of them to trust her (and let's face it, they'd have had to throw it out and waste it anyway). Way to go building customer loyalty! This Sbux is not exactly on my way to work (there are two closer locations) but I somehow find reasons to make the trip through here very often anyway. On occasion, they've even offered to give me a free drink they'd made incorrectly for another customer. Nice. I've never had a bad experience here, and they have a nice little outdoor seating area to boot! read more

Ordered through my app and got my coffee 15 mins later while one guy ran around like a chicken with no head worrying about taking the chairs out and working his load and the other guy who had glasses attending drive thru they had no idea i placed and order .. I go there every morning and by the time I get there My coffee is ready.. today and the only day I've ever had a problem there.. I go there everyday and his excuse said the label printer wasn't "working" but my ticket sat there the entire time... when the females are there in the morning everything seems smooth.. .. This is the worst service I have ever had. There were 2 cars in front of me and took 5 minutes to take my order. When I go to window baristas we're just walking around only 1 person at station part of the time making drinks. After aLl that and 10 minutes later the order was wrong. Extremely excessive and gross misuse power. It is winter and they have the air condition cranked up so high everyone is wearing coats. Two ladies have knit hats with earmuff. We had on sweats and had to go out a get large heavy jackets and mittens. It is much warmer outside. The service was nice. When we asked them to change the thermistat the cashier said he couldnt touch it and was cold too. So basically I would say very poor management!
