Shit. I can't believe I'm doing this. Who reviews Starbucks? What kind of pretentious waste of seminal fluid reviews a "coffee" chain? Looks like myself and twenty one other would be Salingers. I'm going to do my best to avoid reviewing their products here but in the interest of transparency: I hate Starbucks. I find their coffee boring at best. It's sort of the coffee equivalent of fruit punch concentrate; it's not juice but I guess if you need a sugar headache and a bad case of rumblegut then it'll do. My wife on the other hand disagrees and would likely bathe in their cruddy tea until she emerged puckered and gross if it was an option. This means I spend a surprising amount of time going to the Barstow Starbucks. Maybe even a disconcerting amount of time. Usually I just go through the drive thru and shout my order at the little speaker in the vain hope that whoever is inside the building is actually listening. Trust me, don't do this. Aside from the fact that the average Starbucks customer somehow needs to order enough Frappuccinos to fuel a small army of clydesdale horses they also don't ever seem to know what it is they want. Which means an interminable wait in what may very well be the only spot on the surface of our fair Earth that has never known the touch of shade. If you're a fan of sweat pooling at the top of your butt crack and pouring out onto your seat then this drive thru is the place for you. Bring absorbent towels and a good book. On the other hand, the employees are friendly enough and the drinks are on par with any other mega-chain cup of faux coffee you can get out there. The interior is relatively clean and I've only rarely seen the men's room floor soaked in fluids. The low score is mostly an issue of location. The store shares a rather cramped street entry and a parking lot with a gas station and a motel so space is at a premium when it comes to parking and maneuvering around hapless morons trying to figure out which onramp will get the to Vegas and the subsequent struggle to explain their blood test results to their fiances. The location being right next to a freeway also tends to mean it is constantly packed. Being across the street from a bus station doesn't help either. It's also a ridiculous chore trying to pull back out onto the street if you're making a left. Which everyone seems to be doing. Bottom line? Just go to AM/PM and get a $1.29 cup of coffee and save yourself the hassle. Plus you can get gas while you're there. read more

This Starbucks lived up to everything it should be and is supposed to be. They made all the drinks correctly and quickly and the facilities were in good working order. Maybe it was timing, maybe I just traveled through on the right day. Not a single problem with this place, and there were even folks gathered together who were coming up with an App idea. Oh, and the Pokemon Go craze was in full effect so the other half of people were just trying to play with A/C. There's a lot of other reviews upset with the way it looks and photos of trashed facilities - I didn't see any of that during my visit. I'm guessing that after a crazy rush and when they're understaffed on a long weekend, this place can get kinda messy because it's right along the freeway and humans can sometimes be the worst. read more

The employees are trying their best, but this is not going to be a family friendly quick coffee and bathroom break. It does have a drive-thru though. Numerous homeless folks in obviously altered mental states wandering around accosting employees and customers and drivers alike. I have stopped in in previous years with no issue. Perhaps this is anecdotal but it seems to have gone downhill since Starbucks' corporate decision to allow all loitering and bathroom use. Starbucks needs to figure out a way to fix this one from the top-down. The best baristas in the world can't make this location feel safe and clean. read more

My friend was in the restroom stall and there was no toilet paper. I went and asked if he could get a roll to use but they refused to give it to him. The girl went to the lady room and grabbed some toilet paper from there while she had 2 rolls in her hand. It was not enough to wipe and she was giving me an attitude. Whether this is company or store policy, why would you not give someone sitting on the toilet some paper?!?! There was 7 people working (yes I counted) I stood in line for 10 minutes (yes I timed it) and no there was absolutely no line. I finally asked excuse me is someone going to take my order ? They said yes and brushed me off as they kept gossiping and chatting. I ended up leaving without ordering and just had to leave a review about my horrible experience. Oh and one more thing with the amount of people working there you would think the bathrooms would ATLEAST be decent but it was one of the dirtiest bathrooms I've been to at a Starbucks. Flat out the dirtiest Starbucks we've ever seen. Garbage and crumbs on literally every square foot of the floor. No soap in the bathroom, slow service, bad tasting coffee and enough dirtbag people hanging out inside and outside the store to fill a police lineup.
