I don't even know where to begin , this is the worst Starbucks I have ever been to and customer service was horrible. On my trip to Arizona my family and I always stop at a Starbucks and we unfortunately stopped at this one. Walking in the bathrooms are very gross and it was still early in the morning and there wasn't even half and half filled for some coffee. Workers are very rude and we asked if a drink was good and the worker didn't know how to respond and said he guess it's good, and when we finally got our order, mine wasn't how I have ordered it because the worker who took our order didn't even ask if I would like it iced or hot how most baristas would ask, and the lady who was giving us our order I asked her nicely that I actually wanted it iced and seemed annoyed and looked at me very rudely and gave me the very opposite of what I have asked for and gave me a matcha tea with tons of the powder at the bottom. If you are traveling and would like to stop for a nice place to go get some coffee after a long trip, I would definitely not recommend this Starbucks. read more

Roy 'The Hungry Englishman' On this trip we find ourselves heading through Barstow on our way to Arizona. There is not much in this part of the world, so in need of a pick-me-up we yelped a Starbucks which although can be a little hit and miss is usually a good stand by. The Starbucks in Barstow (1620 E Main Street) was a TERRIBLE experience. The coffee was standard fare as were the snacks. The staff were rushed, uninterested and not especially friendly. However my main reason for writing this scathing review and wholeheartedly encouraging you NOT to visit this store was due to the state of hygiene. This place was DISGUSTING.....! The floor was filthy, the tables had not been cleaned and the utensils/condiments station looking like a hoard of unsupervised chimpanzees had been living there for a week. Don't get me started on the rest room! I'm tempted to make some jovial comment here for us all to chuckle, however where restroom hygiene in a food establishment is concerned this is NO laughing matter. The manager and staff of this establishment should be thoroughly ashamed. If I was a Starbucks executive I would fire everyone in this place, get a cleaning crew in and start again. Cashier (long hair brunette prolly In 20's - no name tag) needs big time re-training. Took my order for a grande pike coffee and informed me it'll take a few mins to brew new pot. Ok - no problem. After cashier takes care of several customers (customers dribbling in - not a long line waiting) - approximately 10 mins passed, I asked if coffee is ready yet. Found out She hadn't even ground the beans yet for the brew!!! Her response was she doesn't have help. There were 8 employees behind the counter. She stopped grinding coffee and went back to taking orders and finally asked someone else to make the coffee. After helping numerous customers, she finally drew a cup of coffee and promptly handed it to a customer who came in after me. Cashier drew the second cup of coffee and held it while talking to another customer 2 minutes before even attempting to look for me. Total time to get a plain cup of coffee was 17 mins. I love Starbucks but I never went to one that treated me so much love until I went to the one in Barstow because they put all their love in the drinks and always get the drinks right I never had to complain on their service or the way they make drinks. Barstow Starbucks got a new manager a few months back, and BOY! She has done a number on cleaning house, literally, and figuritively as far as staff goes. I work in Barstow, so have endured years of bad service to get my morning Joe, but I am glad to report that I can't say that anymore. New manager has really turned this store around, got a complete interior remodel, and the place has been spotless for the past several months. The bad attitudes are no longer present, and there is positivity all around. They really need to do something about the parking, though. read more

We came from Vegas and we were trying to get home QUICKLY, but there were 5 people in there with the drive thru had no people in it and it took us 15 mins for 2 drinks! All I meed to say is GERALY the manager is the nastiest Starbucks manager I have ever encountered. She is unprofessional and should not be a "manager." She is rude! . My family stopped by for coffee. We used the woman's restroom & they were filthy. We told the 'so called manager'at Starbucks & she refused to have someone put toilet paper or clean them. There were 6 employees and two were just "chit chatting behind the counter" Geraly said NO she was not going to have her employee on reatroom duty put toilet paper because we want them to. If we really need to use the restroom we can use the restroom across the street or pee in a bush! She literally said that to my sister and I. She has a disgusting attotude towards people. I ordered a Cafe Au Lait here yesterday, which is a very common drink at almost all coffee places, even large chains including Peet's. I was super friendly to the person taking my order and he looked very confused about my drink. I watched him turn around, walk back and quietly ask all of his fellow employees what an Au Lait was - and none of them knew. This didn't bother me at all, no problem - I just learned in and told him it was simply a coffee with steamed milk. He rung me up and then walked back to tell a young woman working with him what it was - that I had told him it was just a coffee with steamed milk and that you could get this lots of other coffee places. I watched her look at him like his customer (me :) was the biggest idiot ever for having requested such a weird and fancy drink and then said, loud enough so I could hear, "Well, this is Starbucks!" Then he took an empty cup for my drink and went over to the barista to describe to her exactly how to make my drink - coffee with steamed milk - since no one there knew what that was. She also had huge attitude and looked super irritated and said "That sounds weird!" I was feeling a little uncomfortable that all of these folks were acting like I was a huge diva for ordering a Cafe Au Lait, coffee with steamed milk!, and made eye contact with the first woman and said, very warmly, with a smile on my face, it's actually a really common drink most places. She looked pretty embarrassed that I had obviously overheard her comment and just looked away. I don't really mind that this place is insanely busy and a little understaffed, as others have mentioned, but I do mind when the staff derides their customers because they don't know the drink that they have ordered. If the customer is happy to tell them what the drink is and is extremely patient and has a smile on her face the whole time, then why are they acting like she is the most demanding customer ever? Walked in with my dad there were only 2 people in line, the idiot cashier kept giving me and my dad shitty looks and than never gave the batista my drink order and barely tossed my bagel. This place is slow, lots of people waiting. The bathroom, is filthy, McNasty as well as main room, the air vents are loaded with gobs of dust, the floors are nasty, just a lot of deferred maintenance. The wait was 45 mins. I ordered & paid. Waited & waited. Notice people that were behind me were getting their orders. Asked what happened to my order, mysteriously they didn't have an order for me. The barista promptly made my order. I couldn't understand how a place like Starbucks can have a two star rating, until right now. Pulled up to a drive-through order panel of a 24/7 store, tried to place an order, ordered salted caramel, the order was taken. Asked for extra salt just to be told that there is no salt at all. Ok, fine, proceeded to order another drink, had to literally spell the word "taffy" after repeating it at lest 3 to 4 times. The girl kept on asking me to repeat every step of the order numerous times-the name, size, sauce or syrup, etc., ok maybe she couldn't hear me. When the order was finally placed, I repeated that both drinks were hot and venti to get a reply "you already said that". Pulled to the window, I had a lit cigarette, she opens the window and gives me the total, and I say that I have two reward drinks. At this point she tells me that I can't smoke there. Her right, I move the cigarette inside the car to my opposite hand and place my cell with the app open on the scan page on the shelf in front of the window while moving my body away from the window, and she is not scanning, but she tells me that I can't smoke and she won't serve me. I told her that I am not smoking, the cigarette is inside the car, and no smoke is going at her, at which point she proceeds to tell me "it's discussing, it's discussing", and I said "just like your attitude when I was placing my order". My friend asked her for her name, she didn't reply, so my friend asked again. The wonderful employee's name is Jeralyn by the way, young girl, no more than 23, but might be a lot younger. She became very nice and polite, no rudeness from the on. I hope that a manager gets to see this, or that I get one of the surveys about this particular location. In my 4-5 years on Yelp this is the first time ever I placed a negative review, I usually don't want to waste my time, but this time, I think, I really needed to do this. read more

Nasty wet floor restroom, i could smell the ursine as I walked in the front door, work area floor is safety hazard, plastic cup lids, recipes, milk caps, cash register had no one manned after stood in front of it for 7 minutes 38 seconds.. I saw many employees passing by the cash register, just no one wants to take my order. I saw employee laughing, making jokes, just no services. Front selves display had layers and layers of dust bunny populations.. Glass door had finger prints smudges will take CSI years to figure out who is who. Told the staff they out if stir sticks three days ago; three days later.. Still no stir sticks. Bake good display looks like worst than cat 6 tornado passed by. When staff placing new bake good, no gloves were used. hod knows was that the hands touched hair of other employee.. Trashes cans has no more room to share with other new comers. This is the most filthy and unsanitary Starbucks I have ever been to. There are health code violations at this store. There are three full bags of trash next to a completely full trash can next to the front counter bar area with flies all around them. The flies have also got into the food behind the glass with all the breakfast items and sweets. The rest of the store has trash on the ground and the bathrooms are also disgusting. Customer service was also sub par. Also, they should update the menu you as it still reflects seasonal items that they no longer serve. read more

I am a HUGE Starbucks lover, I go there at least 3-4 times per week maybe more when I am home in Vegas, but this Starbucks was the least favorite I have been to. I ordered a bacon Gouda with no cheese and got cheese, to find that out when I left. Then I ordered an iced drink and got it hot, I think the girl was just rushing and not listening to my order. My bf and I just visited this Starbucks as we were traveling home from Las Vegas. The employees were pleasant and accommodating. That is the only reason that I did not give 1 star. Let me explain. I'm a gold card holder so obviously I visit Starbucks stores often. The Barstow location is the worst store that I have visited EVER. The floors and tables, inside and out, were littered with trash. The chairs were in disarray. The bathroom trash was overflowing and the toilet paper dispensers were empty. There was a roll of toilet paper sitting on top of the dispenser. For that, I was very thankful! This is not a location that lives up to Starbucks standards. I was shocked at its appearance. The baristas were all very young and may not have been trained in the Starbucks way of doing business. I always order the same drink. It is consistently delicious. Not so much this visit. My Americano tasted like water with cream. My bf's was the same...yuck. I asked to have the drinks remade. The barista did so. She said she put an extra expresso shot in each. The first taste seemed ok. That didn't last. The coffees tasted like a watered down version of an already bad cup of coffee. Whoever owns this particular franchise must not visit the store. I am not sure if there was even a manager on duty. If any Starbucks executives observed what I did, I'm pretty sure that someone would be in big trouble. By far the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Vegas excited for my trenta UNSWEETEND iced tea and my spinach feta wrap with Sriracha. Did I get that? No. They were out of trenta cups/lids so I had to get a venti, they did not have spinach feta wraps so I had to order a different sandwich, and they ran out of Sriracha. On top of that, when I got my iced tea it was sweetened with their classic sweetener even though I made it clear I did not want sweetener. What kind of Starbucks doesn't have what their company is known for? Will never stop by here again when I'm traveling because this location has NOTHING. Such a disappointing breakfast. read more
