I go here out of desperation whenever I'm trapped in Burlingame. I've been waiting to write this review because I didn't want to Jump to Conclusions (that was for you, Office Space nerds). But I've been there enough times to (I think) figure out what's going on. First time I went in, a young blond guy rocking the Bieber cut and gauged ears took my order and was pretty peppy. He smiled at me and said I had a cool name (sorry dude, unless you're an American Gladiator, no one has a "cool" name) and I went about my business. There's another guy there who likes to sing to women as they pick up their drinks. I don't pay attention to either of them. Message to both of you: Stop. I'm not there to get a date or a self esteem boner and since they're actually being paid, they DEFINITELY shouldn't be trying to either. Unfortunately, there are plenty of women who walk in and encourage them. They're usually ironically dressed like an extra from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and always kind of excitedly run their words together like, "Heyhow'sitgoingmeetmeatmylockerafterhomeroom!" But the thing that ultimately bugs me is that the level of service I've gotten seems to have dropped. I'm not rude to them, I offer the perfunctory pleasantries. But I've seen them be blatantly indifferent to me and extremely flirty/nice with someone who is willing to play their game. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but either way, service sucks. So if you want to date a guy who thinks he can sing like Bob Marley, this location could work for you. Otherwise, stay away. read more

What can you say about a Starbucks that someone else hasn't already? I like the location of this one and the fact the staff are very friendly. The barista behind the counter got a little crazy calling out the drink names when she finished whipping them up, but it was a welcomed upbeat attitude after a long night of drinking downtown. So it was EXTREMELY HOT on this particular day. Like real feel on our oh so super android phones, 80 something degrees. And yea, 80 degrees is hot for us San Franciscans. After I got my eyebrows done we walked into Starbucks. I got my usual, well my usual for a HOT HOT day. Tall, passion fruit ice tea with lemonade, sweetened. And lemme tell you, the guy made it with L-O-V-E all the way hey! It was more tart then usual, which was great, cause it made it more refreshing esp. on a super hot day, and added like a ton of ice! I hate this place. I will start with the reason that they get one star: They are open late. Peet's is one block away and closes at like 7 or 8. Starbucks closes at 12:30. Congratulations, you get a star! I drink coffee, I like coffee; what they served me was not coffee. It was some sort of sh*t that they strained into a cup. I say that it wasn't coffee because I have had some really bad coffee, and you can not make coffee as bad as they served it. It's impossible, which means that it wasn't coffee. I cannot believe the raves for this Starbucks here. The place is the SLOWEST, most mismanaged one by far. There are always teenagers smoking outside, people with about 20 pooping dogs and during the day, many little families. They also always have 2 lines going, and whatever one you get in will be the one where the teenager takes a break when you are next in line. It's always freeezzing in there, I guess because everyone is hopped up on caffeine. Honestly, this place makes me crabby and misanthropic just thinking about! Let me say it again parents: CHILDREN + CHOCOLATE + SUGAR + CAFFEINE = we all hate you! WONDERFUL!!!! Super clean, super friendly, this is only my second time in my life ordering a VEINTE drink, it's because we had a free drink coupon--who wouldn't order the largest??! Salted Caramel Mocha, while the name sounds legit, well it is pretty legit, but tasted like a normal mocha to me, and I ALWAYS add caramel to everything, including iced coffee, caramel never gets old, so maybe I'm used to that flavor. Anyways. As we were eating a cheese danish at the table, this guy comes by and offers to clear the trash away, which was so nice, so he took all the crinkled up napkins. Really, it's so friendly here. Maybe because it's on Burlingame Avenue and you have to (usually) pay for parking, at the meters, so if you're coming here it BETTER be good, aint free (unless you find magical parking further away? go search). Well, this is a wonderful Avenue and LOTS of dogs walking around, usually they all sit outside this starbucks too, big dogs little dogs, all usually polite. One of the few starbucks I will go into.... I grew up stepping in and out of this place after it killed the finest coffee shop in the history of man. That little beatnik joint? Oh my it was the best. But I have had many memories in this Starbucks. Hanging out with high school friends. Working from here, thinking outside, twiddling my pen. It has been a fixture... literal edifice... in my life. It deserves some love. I don't make a habit of reviewing a chain, but this is one of the last places I see community happen at a change. Burlingame, for all it pretentiousness and uppity drawbacks, should be very pleased about this venue. Came here for a short work meeting today and the barista (Asian male, 20s or early 30s) decided to be comedian of the month. At the counter, I ordered an iced green tea for my co-worker and he walked over to interrupt and said, "lemme guess, no sweetener?" This was probably after he overheard me speaking to my co-worker and wanted to join in on our fun. Later, we planned on moving from our bar top to a table after 2 moms and their screaming babies left crumbs all over the table (seriously, how have people been excused to be TOTAL SLOBS in public?) and asked Asian comedian if he could please help us wipe the table. Asian comedian decides that we're in China or a boba drink establishment and tells me IN CHINESE, "yes I'll be there in a minute to wipe that table." Thanks dude but I'm really not interested in hanging. Here for work SPEAKING ENGLISH the entire time and don't appreciate assumptions or eavesdropping on customers. Thankyouverymuch. My chai latte wasn't good at all (lukewarm, cloyingly sweet and obviously made from premix) and an older creepy dude sat down at our table and spent the majority of his time either staring me down or staring directly at my laptop while I discussed business with my co-worker. Clearly doesn't know what peripheral vision is. This was a gross experience overall, don't know what else to say about that. Won't be returning. read more

This place seemed ok a few months ago, but now that summer's here, you're better off walking a couple more blocks and crossing the street to go to Peet's. First of all, this store is now crowded almost 24/7 with a long line much of the time and all the seating taken. Second, it's full of noisy high school kids and questionable dudes... there's also this one clearly homeless lady who kinda camps out on the sofa, just looking sketchy. And there's a growing crowd of sidewalk loiterers who just gum up the whole works on the Burlingame corner. And finally, even if you did want to go here, parking's a bitch, so you'd better walk. Also, side note to the singing barista: Dude, you're really sweet and polite, and I can tell you're a music fan, and it's not that you're a bad singer at all. You have a very pleasant singing voice. But I really didn't come to Starbucks to hear you singing John Mayer. I'm more of a Motorhead kinda girl, but even if we didn't have such divergent tastes in music, you're a barista, not a singer. That's your role while you're here. I'd appreciate it if you kept your singing to a low hum while others are around. I know retail sucks and you've gotta keep yourself amused; maybe you should get a job at a record shop next summer? End of side note. Let me start by saying I love Starbucks, just not this one! I was so disappointed! My friend came over here from Oakland and wanted to see some cute little shops, so we ended up at Bulingame avenue. She ordered her iced sugar free vanilla coffee, and on our way we went. Well, as we parked right in front of the store, she wanted to get her $0.50 refill before we got back in the car. I have a gold card (Starbucks rewards program) and I was like it should be free with my card... Well. we went in and the very rude guy at the counter said you left the store so I have to charge you for a new one. My friend who normally does this with her iced coffee, at numerous other Starbucks was offended by the rudeness and decided to forget it! So I am forgetting about this Starbucks! Ugh! I will take the time later to check their online policy statements about refills, but there was no need to be rude to us about it regardless. I tend to hold Starbucks to a high standard since I am a Barista myself but this place was awful. I ordered a hot tea iced which takes a few minutes to steep and the Barista ringing me up actually rolled his eyes. I always ordered a regular iced tea which he was OK with I suppose . I was trying to be cheerful hoping it would bring up his mood but he didn't even make eye contact with me at all. The bathrooms were out of stock as well. Not one person greeted my friend and I or thanked us. This is not to the standard Howard Shultz wants from us and I was really disappointed. Staff is super nice and there is a good large table in the back with lots of seating for studying. It can get a little noisy at times so bring headphones or earplugs if you plan to do work. Otherwise, as far as Starbucks go it has a nice seat up for meeting friends for coffee to just sit and chat. read more

Came in here on a Sunday around 3pm and there were a few people in front of us in line. Nothing really good or bad stood out for me here. My iced black tea lemonade was good! The only weird thing? Before I got to the cashier, the barista was asking everyone what their order was so she could get started on making them. Which was fine until I got to the cashier and had to repeat my entire order all over again. It wasn't a big deal but I'd never experienced that before. read more

Wow I am surprised that I am the first person to review this starbucks. In fact I had to google map it to get the address because yelp didn't even have the location listed. Wow! Well, 2 things. 1. Every time I come here someone who is working here knows me. 2. If noone working here knows me then I will know someone hanging out here or hanging out in front. Coffee is normal starbucks coffee. Good service and a good location. Right in the middle of the buzzing Burlingame Ave. The coffee shop is kinda small and it can get pretty crowded specially on the weekends. On the hunt for a gift at the J. Crew in downtown Burlingame, I stopped by this Starbucks to pick up a drink. (OK, I'll be honest, the primary purpose for visiting this Starbucks was a potty break, but I figured, if I'm here anyway, why not get some coffee too?) The interior was certainly comfortable. There are plenty of tables and chairs, plus a nice common area with a big meeting table and even a self-service customer library. I noticed this Starbucks uses Clover machines for brewing individual fresh cups of coffee, but with the chill outside, I wanted a warm chai instead--maybe next time? Service was pretty fast, and the baristas very welcoming. And the bathrooms? Well, unfortunately not the cleanest, but when you gotta go, you gotta go. read more

Really nice cute Starbucks with tons of windows. The way it is decorated reminds me of a studio space. Favorite part? It has large granite cafe table oppose to the regular small wobbly wooden ones. Conveniently located in downtown burlingame near lots of shopping and restaurant options! Line moves quick and the cashiers here are super friendly and helpful. I haven't used my card in awhile and the cashier helped me reload my card and also charged my drinks individually so that I could my stars!
