To study here it's a 4/5. It does get noisy and crowded here. Ample seating which is great plus there are 2 washrooms. Open later than other starbucks. Awesome large table in the back.

They seem to have removed the outside seating area. When asked if I can bring a chair outside, they said No... and began rambling off some excuse... I walked away and am now having my own tailgate seating session. Not sure why when all the North/West Van, and many Van locations all have outdoor seating. 1 person must've ruined it for EVERYONE by stealing something... so this is the only resort resolution. It's a shame, since it's 5-21-18 @ 3:40pm with 26degC weather. Not everyone wants to sit inside listening to jazz, and hearing people constantly chatter loudly.

Their customer service sucks! They don't know how to handle customer complain. Good brand but bad staff.

Starbucks is not bringing in newspapers to their stores as company policy. At least bring in some free ones, this is really too bad.

Review Highlights - Starbucks

It was very busy when I visited, a big lineup, though the staff were working their way through the lineup efficiently.

Handworks Coffee Studio - Hojicha latte

It is a small space, but full of personality and charm. We ordered a Matcha Latte ($7), Japanese Latte ($7), and Matcha & Black Sesame Moffin ($1.50/each). I personally enjoy my matcha unsweetened so I loved that this one was served without sweeteners, and the matcha is lighter bodied with earthy flavours. The Japanese latte is made with coffee beans from Japan, and I'm not a coffee drinker usually so I can't comment much other than the fact it tasted mellow but had depth. The mochi muffins were not too sweet and deliciously chewy! I'd love to come back to try their hojicha latte!

I guess barista did not add too much sugar, however, I did not need it. Houjicha flavor was was very bold and strong, and paired with milk so well. I really enjoyed houjicha itself, no sugar necessary. It really reminds me of houjicha latte in Japan. Barista was Japanese lady. very friendly and nice. I was very impressed and definitely want to go back the shop as soon as I can. I want to try their baking goods next time.

Parking is available on the side streets. The dining area is divided into 2 distinct sections. Looks like they took over the adjacent business space and knocked out a doorway. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. I wasn't sure what to try, so I had the kitchen sink. Might as well try a mix of everything. As per the menu, it was 2 eggs, sautéed red onions, red peppers, kale, green onions, sausage, bacon, cheese, hashbrowns. Reminded me of eating an omelette that fell apart. Decent quality, but honestly nothing really stuck out, especially for the price. This place isn't cheap. Maybe I'll try another dish at some point.

Gray Olive Cafeteria is a bright and simple brunch spot that serves a variety of classic, but well-executed brunch dishes and drinks. The popularity of the place showed as we waited almost an hour for a table today (granted it was a stat), with people continuing to flow in while we were dining. My boyfriend explained that they were originally a small diner, but later upgraded to more spacious seating. The waitress (who was also hostessing) was kind and apologetic for the wait. After we sat down and ordered, the food arrived very quickly. The chicken and waffles immediately caught our eye as it seemed almost one person at every table had ordered it. For $1.75, you can also opt to have your chicken made spicy, and it was very worth it! I also really liked the waffles, despite usually preferring chewier waffles. These waffles had a crispier bite, but were fragrant and delicious regardless. The crab cake benny was also a delicious umami bomb with great textures and flavours. Keep in mind, there probably isn't a lot of actual crab (mostly imitation from what I saw and tasted), but it still tasted good. One standout was the hashbrown potatoes. They were perfectly seasoned and so crispy! I also appreciated that everything wasn't too salty and perfectly seasoned for my asian taste buds. I will definitely return, but on the basis of coming for a reservation only!
