God, I love this Starbucks. The morning staff knows my name (even though I'm not there every day), and are getting closer to knowing my drink. It's not nearly as crowded as most other Starbucks, and they never get my drink wrong. I have definite favorites on the staff, though I probably shouldn't call them out. I've contemplated driving here on my days off (even though there's one closer to my house), but that would probably be creepy. read more

Your standard Starbucks. The seating area up the stairs is a good spot for work or chatting with friends but it can get a little loud depending on the amount of people there. I think they have a slight tendency to over roast which leaves the coffee with a slight burnt flavor which personally I'm not too fond of. read more

This is probably my least favorite location for my Starbucks addiction. The drinks just never taste as good as when I get the same order at Kamp Washington, and it's definitely not the cleanest coffee shop in the world. In fact, it is currently 6:30pm, and the doors are firmly locked while the frowning employees look like they are giving the premises a deep clean after a nuclear blast. No explanation, nor sign on the door, just a firm shake of the head through the glass as caffeine-starved customers claw vainly on the façade. read more

Call me crazy if you will, but I don't particularly care for Starbuck's coffee. I stopped here because I had a giftcard that's been burning a hole in my wallet, and also I was going to be super early to work since I hit absolutely no traffic today, being that it is the day before Christmas Eve and apparently everyone took off of work except me. I don't typically review chains either unless I had either a really positive or really negative experience. I'm happy to say this was really positive due to the outstanding customer service. My experience in the past with Starbucks customer service has been rather dismal, typically I've been met with the "We are Starbucks and we can do whatever we want" attitude. Today, I was greeted with a smile, despite the extensive line forming behind me, and I also did not experience any rolling of the eyes when I asked if the barista could "briefly describe" The special Christmas Blonde Roast. She happily answered me too when I inquired about it being a pour over, and she offered the tidbit (not that I plan on stopping in after 12pm anyways though) that they only do pour overs after 12 of the blonde roast. I had negligible wait since I wasn't having a specialty drink and I was in and out within 5 minutes. I'll stop in here again since my gift card still has a $22 balance on it, rather than patronize the Starbucks near my place in Pentagon Row, due to the friendly smile and quick service I received. read more

Not too bad as far as cleanliness and quality of food and drink goes. The only complaint I have is the amount of time it can take in the morning to be served. I've cut it close a few times with being late to work. I even tried coming in 15 minutes earlier and it's still happened. Hope they work on the customer service. I come here often. The atmosphere is very nice and even cozy. The workers here are really friendly and sweet. The drinks are pretty decent too (or at least the ones I order). One time a guy accidentally made my tall a grande so I'll give them an extra star for that! Try their green tea frappucino, it's my favorite; they always make it perfectly delicious. Their passion tea lemonade is really good too. I'll definitely continue coming here. read more

Wow. A great experience every time. I did not like Starbucks before coming here (my new job is close by), but they have converted me. The folks here work like a well oiled machine. This place is great, not sure why anyone would rate less than 5 stars. This is one of the best Starbucks that I have been to. The team is always very helpful, and the manager Kim is super nice- even when they are slammed. I love the fact that they are 2 levels & the top level is where friends, study groups & tutors meet, in addition to casual business meetings taking place. It's in a pretty cool location with the courthouse & GMU both less than a mile, so there is a neat mix of people. I always stop into this Starbucks on my way into Dante Salon & Wellness Spa for my hair & nail appointments or after my facial & massage appointments since they are neighbors, next to the upstairs level! read more

This place used to be A-OK when I lived in the Fairfax area. I used to get some great lattes and americanos made by Moe (is he still around?). I also knew two or three other regulars. Clearly they don't work here anymore. My americano the other day was watery beyond belief. The atmosphere was un-comfy. It was tolerable for working for a few hours, but it felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. I moved in 2006 to Santa Cruz, CA (SF bay area) so I'm probably considered a coffeeshop snob now... but I have to come see my parents occasionally. All I wantis a quiet, comfy place to work with some decent coffee drinks and nice music or atmosphere for a few hours. Somebody tell why is that too much to ask for in the Fairfax area??? read more

Great service, excellent drinks, and the FREE WIFI is fast buuuuuuut... there are almost NO PLUGS to charge your laptop, iPad, etc. Don't go here if you are low on power, because they don't accomodate. I once saw someone go to the Walgreens across the street to puchase a surge protector, so he could talk someone at this Starbucks into sharing a power outlet... that's a bit silly and embarrassing. read more

Service at this location is hit or miss.3 times they have messed up my tea, only a person with no common sense would do that. Sometimes the service is great, speedy and you get exactly what you ordered, regardless of the time of the day. Being a busy location I understand speedy service is not always feasible, but that should not compromise the quality of the product. I think the problem is the lack of experienced, well trained servers and a good attitude. The smaller Starbucks location by my area in Burke never fails and the servers always seem knowledgable snd have a welcoming attitude. read more

The manager Chawntae is great and her staff are incredible. They go the extra mile to please you. I love to have my semidry cap at 140 F and sweet bread every morning. Ask to have your sweet bread toasted like using the setting for bagel. Delicious. read more

Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks. There's nothing special about the coffee here that you couldn't get from another Starbucks. However, I'll give this place 4 stars because I feel like it has more outlets and seating than other Starbucks' and I like the layout more (the majority of seating is on a second floor, so noise from the main ordering counter is lessened, better for working). The staff is friendly, and so far has never gotten my order wrong. I would pick this Starbucks out of others if I had to choose. read more

This store has some employees who are excellent baristas and others who are very nice. Unfortunately, there was one employee unlike anyone else at this location or any other Starbucks I have ever seen around the world,who was allowed to call people by 'pet names,' reward customers she liked with extra attention, and punish those she didn't with bad service, intentional mistakes in making drinks, nasty expressions, and mind games constituting harassment. Complaints were made up to the district manager level who didn't seem to take the complaints seriously offering like a 'free coffee' in return for years of bad service, attitude, entitlement, and unprofessional juvenile behavior . This was also quite unfair to the other employees who try to do their job in a professional and friendly manner. Recently, they got rid of the newspapers, which gave one something to read while waiting for the over-priced cup of coffee. read more

This is the only Starbucks I have been to where the staff is rude and unprofessional. I always avoid this Starbucks and go to the one by the Vienna Metro or Springfield Whole Foods. Really, any other Starbucks fits the bill. The rudeness here is astonishing. The lousy parking doesn't help. read more

Jan 16, 2015. We have previously been to this Starbucks outlet and been satisfied. However, on a recent visit, one of the employees, who appeared to be a manager, was mopping the floor. He interrupted his mopping duties to consult with one of the other baristas behind the counter. He did not wash his hands, before handling many items and doing a number of other activities (handling containers, touching coffee preparation utensils/equipment, microwave, and food for one customer) behind the counter in which cleanliness should be paramount. If he had tried to get my coffee for me, I would have asked that someone else pour it for me. We will not return there, even though it is the closest Starbucks to us. read more

Due to lack of independent cafes in the Fairfax area, I do end up at Starbucks and other chain cafes frequently. This one had a great seating area upstairs (which merited the 4 star review), the staff was courteous and friendly, and the restrooms were clean. There is no doubt I will be back here even if I find the elusive independent cafe. read more

Starbucks is Starbucks...The staff has always been very personable and nice, but on 10-28-2015 I watched an employee (not in work clothes), who I have seen working many times before, tell another employee to "shut up". I'm not sure what Starbucks policy is, but to me personally, this encounter seemed very unprofessional and rude.
