Just your standard Starbucks. Food, service; and ambiance are good, if not great. Could do more to stand out.

Unacceptable experience. I will not be returning. This location delivered some of the worst customer service I've encountered. My order was taken incorrectly, the drinks were made incorrectly, one drink wasn't made at all, and I was still charged for their mistakes. The wait time was nearly 25 minutes for three drinks in a store that was not busy. The manager was inexplicably fixated on charging me an extra dollar instead of correcting the situation. The employee preparing my drinks even admitted he "has to listen to his manager," while completely disregarding the fact that I wasted both time and money due to their errors. This level of service and management is unacceptable. read more

Standard Starbucks, the team is very friendly. Unless you are visiting during rush hours you do not have to wait. Sharing a parking lot with many businesses, there a lot of parking. Ample space, great location! read more

Excellent customer service here!! This is hands down one of the friendliest Starbucks I've ever been to. Placed a mobile order and soon as I walked in the door, I was cheerfully greeted right away by several employees. I was in workout clothes so I don't think I was looking that great or anything, but maybe they're just that friendly! Either way, I love it!! Get excited to see me lol Currently no indoor seating available. The signs for the one-way walkway and mobile pickup are clearly marked. I ordered a cinnamon dolce latte and my order was ready. The drink was perfect! I wish I was closer to this location, I would come here all the time! If you're in this area, come check them out! I'm very upset as many things have happened. Many times a worker named Isa has given me so much adittude. I asked for a cup holder while trying to juggle 4 drinks in my arms. She rolled her eyes, pointed at them and turned around. Also as my last day of senior year, i ordered a brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso. I always order it and have no problem with it. This time i almost completely white. If you don't have the resources to make the drink completely correct , let your customer know. I pay 6 dollars for a small drink. I want it to taste how it always does. On the other hand, many of the other times i have come i've gotten great caring service, but working in the fast food industry myself, these are fixable problems that are lightly cared for. read more

No drive through and a limited amount of space inside for social distancing. Overall, this place is the average type of Starbucks that you could visit. It is in the corner of a shopping center next to a grocery store and there are other food options nearby. You would need to park off to the side from the grocery store for ease of access. Once there, you will either order or wait for your order. It is quite crowded here in the mornings because of the large amounts of people that live near here. If you are in a rush, this might ruin your mornings. I generally go to another location in Germantown if I needed coffee from Starbucks. I was just feeling adventurous today. I wasn't sure if the service is generally slow or that there were just a large amounts of people that backed the orders up. There appears to be less people working on drinks than the other locations in the morning. Perhaps that is the reason. I do like the fact that they are located here. Right off a main road and easy to get back on the main road one way or another. read more

I like this location. The line moves quickly and the employees are friendly.They have never got my order wrong and it is always delicious. The only issue I have is not really even their fault. They have the bathroom doors locked and you have to ask an employee for the code even if they are very busy. You can tell they are annoyed by it. Holy farking frostballs, Batman! They are -serious- about their climate control in here. Walking in out of the sweltering sun in the middle of the afternoon, my immediate thought was of a giant cup of iced soy latte (which, just to be clear, isn't nearly as good as the one obtainable for about a quarter less at Baked and Wired). What I -should- have ordered was a hot soy misto to combat the frigid air inside, instead. On the upside, the joint seems to have plenty of seating in the middle of the day. I found myself parked on a comfy battered armchair for most of the afternoon, avoiding the 270 traffic before a media preview for a restaurant opening up across the street this evening. With the giant windows facing the... well... parking lot, there was plenty of natural light, which I was much in need of after nearly dozing off on the drive up from the Beltway. *yawn* It was abundantly clear that this was the only coffee shop in the immediate vicinity, when I spotted some folks I was planning to meet later this evening also enjoying their coffee across the room. When your caffeinating options are kinda limited... this is where you end up. Abundant seating, enough outlets, and never having to worry about being sweaty and uncomfortably hot? Right on. In the future, I'll know to be more prepared by bringing along a hoodie. read more

I looked up on my profile and realized this was not the first Starbucks I've reviewed; also reviewed one in Chevy Chase in 2014. Continuing with my dating series, I came to this Germantown Starbucks only one time on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. On this infamous day, I had gone to Frederick County for work travel and was temporarily living in Germantown at the time. I messaged this woman on a dating app and mentioned that I had a specific event on that Friday I wanted to do, but I wanted to meet first. She lived in Germantown, and I was temporarily living in Germantown as well. So when I had searched for women, it was searching around my zip code. She was available on that Tuesday afternoon after I was done with my Frederick work, and we met up at this Starbucks. Originally, I suggested the milestone Starbucks (since it was close to where I was living), but she said, can we make it this location since it's closer for her, which I agreed to. I got there and had ordered my drink, an iced chai, which is my most common go to especially on a beautiful warm & sunny day. I was having an issue with the Starbucks app, but they were very helpful. I got the only seat in there. This location is a little small; so, seating is limited. I was on time but was nervous when 15 & 20 minutes was going by. Did she stand me up? Was I looking like an idiot looking around to see if she would ever show? She did message saying that she was sorry but running late. At 25 minutes late, she showed up and sat down. While I was slightly annoyed, I could tell she seemed nice & genuine; so I wasn't bothered by it. I asked what she would like, which was some fancy iced drink with little whip cream. She enjoyed her drink and thanked me for buying it for her. Sometimes, you take a woman to a nice meal, and they don't even thank you, but she was appreciative of the small gesture of a $4.50 drink or whatever I paid. She later admitted that she would normally ask for extra whip cream, but didn't want to seem excessive on a first date. Anyway, whenever I drive by the Starbucks, I think of our first date. We are still together. Conclusions about timing: Timing is everything. There were a lot of factors that worked in my favor on September 26. 1. Had the apartment fire not happened in August, it's likely I still would've been living in Arlington (or I would've just moved to MD [I was already looking into moving closer to my office before the fire occurred], but I wouldn't have considered Germantown as it's not much more convenient to my office in Halethorpe [near Baltimore City] than Arlington) 2. Had the apartment not been jerks, I wouldn't moved in with the Germantown friend and therefore, I wouldn't have had an online dating search ring around Germantown. 3. Had I not gone to Frederick for business and been in the office the whole day, I wouldn't gotten back to Germantown until after 6 PM. She wouldn't have had enough time to meet because she did have to leave by 6:30. Or perhaps, if I had work travel to Fairfax or Prince William (I had Prince William County work on 2 consecutive Mondays in September) on that day, then I might've considered right hanging out in VA until the traffic died down. 4. She could've easily been busy that day. She was temporarily in between jobs; so she had enough time. Like a week later, she got a job on weekdays until 6 PM. 5. Additionally, had I chosen to do something and not gone to a trivia tournament that my friend invited me to that night, I wouldn't have had the tickets for the event, where I wanted a date and therefore, wouldn't have had as much sense of urgency to go on a date at all that week. Because all of those things lined up into place, I met a great woman & have a girlfriend today. read more

Omg . They are getting a 5 star yelp review from me. Yes, they made a mistake on my drink, but they changed it and acknowledged that. Also, I could have gave them 3 stars but they were just friendly. Also, the male cashier must have been new because he didnt know the details of what's inside the mocha. They were giving out samples of seasonal cofee. Also, The service is spectacular. I never been to a Starbucks location where they actually gave samples. Here is a photo of what I bought. Its probably friendly because all the employees are working there is around my age. We stop by this Starbucks from tiem to time when we are in the Downtown Germantown area and well, need to stop by Starbucks. They lose a star because as is my rule parking is really difficult at this location. The drinks we end up ordering when we go to Starbucks are always kind of well, diverse. My sons like their Hot Cocoa and their Mocha drinks. I won't name names, but they are pretty much ordering the same thing each time. I like the coffee and I like to get their Frappe's on occasion. My wife likes their coffee, and the Latte's, although she does prefer using Almond milk rather than cow's milk. A good location, one of many we visit! read more

I thought this Starbucks was alright. Inside it was pleasant enough with a bit of seating and a generally comfortable/clean/pleasant store. On the outside though I found it a bit chaotic for parking as they are on a relatively hectic plaza mall corner right between a supermarket and various other stores. Dropped in with a friend around 8 pm on a weeknight for a quick pick-me-up. I decided to get the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with a birthday cake pop. The frappe was just your standard frappe that you would expect from any Starbucks, not better or worse. The cake pop, on the other hand, tasted divine! Five stars for extremely prompt service, albeit we were the only ones in line. Half star deducted because the store was very tiny and we felt pressured to leave due to lack of available seating. There are seats outside, but they are virtually useless in the sweltering heat of the summer. Another half star off because the selection of prepared foods and snacks was very limited compared to most other Starbucks locations. read more

Early afternoon I went to this location and waited almost 10 minutes for service. The service was very slow and the customers were also becoming impatient. When it was my time to order, the cashier advised they did not have decaf. I do not understand how a popular Starbucks does not have decaf coffee. I'm currently watching my caffeine intake so I've recently switched to decaf. As you can imagine, that's already frustrating. Haha. Over all, the employees have to step it up. I feel that this generation is becoming a lot more relaxed and they need to have a little more pep to their step. read more

The former manager from Kingsview starbucks , Allie, is now at Germsntown Commons. I ordered a hot decaf sugar free vanilla latte and it was served by Allie, cold and with no green stopper. This is the second time in five months that Allie tampered with my drink order. Allie needs to be fired from any food service position and especially Starbucks. read more

I would like to start out this by saying that Starbucks is in no way my favorite kind of coffee shop. I find their drinks to have low consistency and too high of a price. I also prefer smaller shops. Anyway, this is the best Starbucks I have ever been to. The staff is always nice. They NEVER mess up my order and are incredibly consistent. They are even cheerful at the crack of dawn! It's kind of weird that it is next to the Safeway. I love to sit outside with my dog and read the Post when I have a morning free from work. For those of you like me who tend to run late, they are fast as well! Even with a line I am usually in and out of there. Coffee bar is usually stocked (even at the busiest times) and very clean. The other Starbucks I frequent in Germantown (over by the Giant on 355) pales in comparison to this place. read more

The drinks are made so well but the service is slower than molasses. I've always placed my order via the mobile app for pick up and I come in and I'm waiting forever. Ran and grabbed my coffee and left and it wasn't until I took a drink after I had already left, and open the lid to find my cup was only slightly over half full. Common problem is that they are always running low on featured drinks which makes no sense as next door at the Starbucks inside the Safeway they have not the same problem. Often they are overwhelmed and getting out of there is a long wait for your drink. Staff is great! read more

One of the best Starbucks in Germantown, possibly best I have been to anywhere. The Baristas know their drinks down to the letter and make excellent recommendations. The store is kept clean and customers do their part to be courteous. Smiles and great service. In the last year of visits, Roberto has been my favorite Barista for his service, smile and how he treats every customer. The employees are top notch, but being inside this Starbucks was like being in an art gallery, and all of the tables were little tiny pedestal art exhibits. Each table has exactly one person, using their computer or phone or whatnot, displaying themselves to everyone else while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge any one else. Like individual little pedestals in a Gallery of Douche. The coffee is good, though, but the plastic aseptic culture in the dining room made me feel uncomfortable for being in there. Maybe if I buy a coffee every day the other customers will begin to accept me and I can consider myself to be part of a Starbuck's tribe. It's not like there's any coffee shops other than Starbucks in town, anyways, so this is my only chance. read more

my drink was made incorrectly so i went back to have it remade. as the cashier was redoing my order, the manager walked over and told her to just give me a refund instead of asking me what i wanted. i told her i wanted light ice in my drink and she turned and said "now you dont want ice either" when my drink ticket said LIGHT ICE. i asked to have it taken out and she told me i could do it myself and gave me a cup to take it out. by far the worst experience i've ever had and i will never come back here. read more

I used to frequent this Starbucks on my way to Frederick for work many years ago. Even back then, the customer service, speed, and quality of the coffee have been very good. Fast forward to today, I usually stop by on my way to my new home/work in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The customer service, speed, and quality of the coffee are still good. There is plenty of indoor seating and several tables outside for those nice days. There is plenty of open space inside. However, on those busy weekend mornings or afternoons, it can get really crowded. The restrooms are very clean and well-lit. There are large, wide blinds for the windows that the patrons can raise or lower. All in all, a very decent Starbucks location! read more

This is the place Where I got addicted to coffee. Been a solid customer since circa 2006. They've had their circulation of employees, supervisors, and mangers without missing a beat. They will almost always get your order right and have it ready in a fairly timely manner. To be honest, the current crew is not as good as previous employees, but with new management I hope this will improve. If you're looking to relax in a seat to study/read, this isn't your best option. They consistently have a group of locals from the halfway houses that love to take seats and sleep/ talk to themselves for hours on end. So if you're into creepy guys who don't smell good, dive in!! If not, there are other Germantown locations with much better ambiance. Apparently it's against the 'policy' to ask people who don't buy anything and sleep in the store everyday to leave. Hmmm. Overall I'm not writing this review as someone who doesn't frequent this location. I'm sure if there is improvement I will update this review in the future. read more
