This is the worst Starbucks I've ever been to in my life where I will be taking this to management if nothing is done about this. It was 8:30pm and the doors were locked, lights out, and chairs were up. The hours said the Starbucks closed at 11pm, but five staff members were chilling behind the counter for drive-thru, so we went there. We left the drive-thru at 9:05pm after getting there at 8:30 with not a lot of cars. That means we waited in line at the drive-thru for 35 minutes to get drinks. We finally got to the window and it took them 5 more minutes to make the drinks. My boyfriend got a tea and I ordered a caramel macchiato upside down (meaning shaken). This was the drink handed to me. It is undrinkable because all it is is caramel syrup with a little milk. Do not waste your time on this and if management is reading this, do yourself a favor and hire all new people. read more

What's the point in having a mobile order if they're going to have you wait in the long line of the drive thru? Need to be better with your mobile orders because this is just bad service. They didn't let me go in or wait outside for them to give me my mobile order will not be coming back here. I stopped by during my road trip and this is the most unpleasant Starbucks I have ever been to. The lady who took our order seems annoyed the whole time (not just to us but to everyone else as well). After an hour and a half of travelling South down the I-5 late on Sunday evening, I pull off at the Santa Nella exit hoping to find some much needed caffeination to keep me awake and alert on the remainder of my drive home to Bakersfield. The smell of jasmine permeates the parking lot as I exit the car, so far so good. There are six wrought iron tables outside shaded by three green umbrellas bearing the Starbucks name. This location has the classic Starbucks look but with much hipper music playing. This time it is a song by the Cure whereas the last several Starbucks locations I wandered into were playing Dean Martin or Frak Sinatra classics. The barrista greets me robustly and suggests I try some of the samples of baked goods sitting on the counter. She explains that Starbucks has recently formed a partnership with La Boulange, a chain of bakeries with about twenty locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Starbucks is heavily promoting the new pastries by offering free samples. Who can resist free samples? Not me, I can assure you. I tried a piece of a blueberry yogurt muffin and one of their lemon loaf and found them both delicious. There were also samples of one of their croissants, but I didn't want to be too greedy. Waited here for over 25 minutes for our drinks and finally threw in the towel. Dude at the front desk didn't seem to care at all that about 3 other families and us cancelled all of our orders. This is probably the best place to use the restroom in Santa Nella. As a lady who has traveled this stretch of I-5 for quite a few years I have conducted an exhaustive survey. Not only is the restroom usually clean...you can also get a snack or a drink. Yeah...it's Starbucks....but in the middle of BFE - its not too shabby. Would I prefer an independent coffee shop with soul?...yes! Would the bathrooms be as clean?...probably not! I am pretty easy to please. And I normally have great experiences at Starbucks (even ones off of busy freeway exits that have lots of traffic and people using the restrooms). I was here yesterday, a Sunday evening around 6pm. First, the bathrooms were gross ... smelly and wet on the floor like many missed the bowl and hadn't been cleaned all day. They seemed understaffed ... A total of 4 working when the drive-thru and front counter were both crazy busy. They seem to maybe need a second espresso station just for the drive thru or maybe just faster baristas. I am used to the hustle of baristas in the Bay Area and these baristas moved at a snail's pace and could not multitask to work on multiple drinks at once to save their lives. What should have been a 10 minute stop to get back on the road ended up taking 30 minutes and in the end, my Carmel macchiato was lackluster at best. Bottom line: if you want a fast experience of a caffeine fix before getting back on the road, it won't happen here. read more

I never post reviews, but this is deserving. The guy with the beard (I should've asked for his name) that is working tonight currently, is the SWEETEST! They were out of cold brew, but were willing to make more an hour before they closed. Since I had to wait, he gave me a gift card for a free drink next time, made my drink free, accidentally gave me a pumpkin scone when I asked for a cheese danish, but when he brought out my drink, he brought out the danish too!! Terrible service!!! I didn't give one star only because of one guy, named Philip. He was the only one doing something there as fast as possible and trying to figure out the line of 20 people. There's definitely something wrong with the management. He tried to ask girls to help him but didn't get much... Girls were moving super slow. One of the answers to him was "what? Who are you?" - this came out from one older blonde lady with kind of long hair she was holding some folder, looked like a manager.... Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. If you're like us and can do the East Bay to LA drive down the 5 (and it rhymes!) without thinking, you've probably stopped here at least once. Well, that's what we had done this past Friday ("need a decent cup of coffee...and we're in Santa Nella"). But this time we added an extra ounce of "not thinking" as we stopped into this Starbucks and locked our keys and phones in the car. Smart! Fortunately, a very friendly and gracious Starbucks employee named Ann loaned us her phone to call our insurance and when we offered her thank you $$ she politely declined. SO NICE. This is right off of the 5 and there is not much on this side of the road, but there's a McDonald's and this hidden gem: a drive thru! When you are walking around downtown SF and your typical city, you see Starbucks everywhere and would not care to give it a second glance. By far the absolute worst Starbucks experience I've ever had. Walking in the first thing you noticed was a handwritten list taped to the door listing everything they were out of food wise which was pretty much everything. One bathroom was completely out of order and the lock didn't work on the other one. I had to stand by the door while my girlfriend used it. It looked like the entire place hadn't been picked up all day (i.e. - trash on the floor of the dining area and the bathroom and tables not wiped down). 5 o'clock in the afternoon on a holiday drive day and they didn't have any regular coffee already made so we had to wait for that to be made. While making our purchase we noticed an open tube of chocolate covered almonds on the counter, asked the cashier what was up and she said "I'm not sure, they were there when I came in so I just left them there." Seriously?!?!? It didn't cross you're mind to ask someone on if it was a sample bottle or trash so you'd know? Went to the counter to get our coffee and the machines and back bar looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days, splatters, bits of stuff all over. If you're that far in the weeds, really, call the GM/owner and tell them you need to close for an hour to get caught up. read more

Have been her several time over the years. Every single time they have one person at the registers. Three or four people doing busy work.. There is always a crazy line. Bathroom are always dirty. Tables are dirty, stuff on the floor. While i was in line with the other 15 people. This is a great location for a SBux but it's tucked back at the end, and no sign if you're coming from the north going south. I decided to do drive thru, and no matter how loudly I spoke, the gal taking my order couldn't hear. It sounded loud inside. I got my order and thank goodness had to run in and grab napkins (we ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches and didn't receive any), because I took a sip of my drink and it was all wrong. I ordered an iced coffee, no cream or sugar and got something entirely different. When you've been up for 5 hrs driving and it's only 9am and have 6 more hours to go, you def need a little coffee boost. The girl at the counter gave me a new coffee quickly. If you're looking for a Starbucks on your drive up or down the 5, this place works just fine. Pretty standard SB joint. A little farther off the freeway than some of the others, but if you're heading south between SF and LA it's the last one before the Grapevine. Very very slow service make sure you have at least a half hour. Very understaffed and the coffee was overly burnt.

This Starbucks is located off of I-5. We stopped here for a quick breakfast/ coffee on our way to SoCal. We got a strawberry frappucino, zebra mocha, spinach square, mozarella/ basil/tomato sandwich and a Grilled Cheese sandwich. Strawberry frappucino was on the tangy side, which I didn't like. High chair was a rolling one and was full of coffee stains and generally dirty! They have a shared bathroom which is something I dislike. read more

For anyone complaining please understand that they're severely understaffed and over worked. A lot of customers order 5+ drinks especially when it's hot it's hard to bang out Frappuccino's while maintaining quality. They work as fast as they can give them a break, tip them, if you don't have patience go to a gas station and get coffee or LB. read more
