The hot chocolate and lattes are not good. I don't recommend them at all. They're bitter. You can't…read moretaste any flavor shots in the lattes. But the food is great. It was the only place open for breakfast midweek one day, so we filled up. Breakfast sandwiches were simple but good. Cupcakes were very moist even the next day. Whoopie pies have too much frosting, but if you just scrape some off, they're great. Pistachio muffins were great, too. Don't sleep on the food here.

Chatham Perk was always a great go to place for some bagels and coffee when in the area. Yes…read moresummertime could be a little busy with people ordering unbelievable numbers of breakfast sandwiches and science experiments for drinks but it always seemed to flow well enough. I was surprised to see the Cape Cod coffee logo all over the place when I arrived as I did not think that was their coffee supplier. It turns out that Cape Cod coffee purchased this business which did not excite me because I have had mediocre experiences at Cape Cod coffee locations. I stopped in here today and the crowd wasn't overwhelming. I tried to order a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and a small coffee however was told that they were out of plain bagels, which at 11 o'clock in the morning isn't necessary surprising I ordered a sesame bagel instead The clerk informed me that it was taking more than 15 minutes for breakfast sandwiches. I asked her if that included a toasted bagel and she said that yes, it would. I appreciate the fact that she was very upfront about it rather than having me wait unknowingly. I decided to simply skip the coffee and bagel. Unfortunately, my fear is that Cape Cod coffee has ruined a nice local business.

I travel for coffee. I work remotely, and there's nothing I love more than spending an hour or two…read morein a café, vibing and getting things done. I gravitate toward places with home-baked treats, chill energy, and humans who know how to share space well. My first visit to Hey Joe was genuinely enjoyable. It's the kind of spot that made me think, "If I owned a coffee shop, this is exactly what it would feel like." The staff were friendly, and there's plenty of seating including quieter side rooms perfect for conversation or focused work. The coffee is solid. No decaf espresso, which is a bummer, and the dry cappuccino wasn't quite dry, but still good. The biscuit was great: gorgeous, buttery exterior, though a bit soft inside. The jam paired nicely, too. I loved the soft music and the overall inviting atmosphere. There's no Wi-Fi, but my hotspot covered me just fine. Overall, a warm, charming place I'd happily return to.

I generally have a good idea how I'm going to start a review. But in the case of Hey Joe and Jam in…read moreChatham, my positive experience was so multi-faceted, I'm torn among multiple strong lead sentence contenders. So I decided my review, is just going to be lead sentences. Feel free to pick your favorite. Hey Joe and Jam, a new coffee shop in Chatham, is at the forefront of a high quality coffee shop Revolution near the Cape's Elbow. Perhaps no Coffee Shop in the Northeast, has ever created, such amazing homemade biscuits, and served them with their own homemade jam, and salted high end butter cubes. In my 30 plus years of drinking coffee, I can't recall ever being more amazed, at a coffee shop's cool, eclectic, and musically-themed decor, than I was at Hey Joe and Jam. If you love Snowy Owl Coffee, but can't make it to Snowy Owl, Hey Joe and Jam has you covered. Have you ever looked at a coffee shop's pastry sample plate, and wondered to yourself, "Is this quite possibly the best coffee shop sample plate ever?" 5 Stars
