The decor and artwork were really different and cool to see, definitely gave the place its own personality. The staff were extremely sweet and welcoming too, made the whole visit that much better. As for the matcha themselves, they were actually pretty good. The matcha latte was nice and smooth with a very balanced taste, slightly bitter even with the added lavender but still easy to enjoy overall. Next time we are probably going to ask for light ice and maybe an extra pump of lavender or vanilla just to cut back on that bitterness a bit. As for the ube matcha, that one was very good too, though mine had way too much ice and was gone in like three sips unfortunately. The iced mint cold brew was refreshing and was like drinking a box of Campfire Girl mints, both chocolatey and minty (sidebar: I am so sad that, as of last year, those mints are no longer made). It essentially was a mocha made with coconut milk and mint syrup; I really liked it. The pastry was rather dry but the raspberry filling was vibrant in flavor and not overly sweet. The vibe is more of a place for hotel guests to have a business meeting or to grab something prior to dashing off to a corporate event rather than just a place to hang out. When I pointed out, "Well, it's advertised on the sign," the response I received was, "We are prepping." I'm sorry, but if you are not selling an item yet, DO NOT advertise it to customers as if it is currently available. There was no "Coming Soon" banner, no indication that it launched tomorrow, nothing. We've all been to Starbucks & have seen how items are marked when they're sold out or unavailable, so there is clearly a way to communicate that. What made the experience even more frustrating was the complete lack of effort to accommodate the situation. If the store is already "prepping" for the launch tomorrow, it is very hard to believe the ingredients aren't already there. And considering the drinks were actively being advertised to customers, I would have expected at least some attempt to make it right rather than essentially being told, "Not until tomorrow." This is customer service 101. If a customer can see a product advertised on your menu with no disclaimer whatsoever, the reasonable expectation is that they can order it. If the promotion does not start until tomorrow, put the signage up tomorrow morning before opening, after closing tonight, or clearly mark it as "Coming Soon." Customers should not be expected to know an internal launch date that isn't communicated anywhere on the menu. Extremely frustrating experience & completely avoidable.
