Starbucks is always and adventure because there could literally be 2 stores across the street from each other and one could be a 4-star experience and the other a 1-star. A lot of it has to do with the flow. If the ordering of your drink to the eventual pickup is bad, then the experience is a fail. That said, this was a pretty seamless experience. I ordered a Venti Iced Green Tea and it was in and out in about 5 minutes. The staff are fast and pretty friendly. They have an outside sitting area that is fine and big enough but it's not a quiet place due to the center being so active. It's been awhile since I've gone to a Starbucks and I now remember why. First the bathrooms were so dirty. No toilet paper trash and water all over the floor. Second, the barista got my order wrong. I ordered an herbal tea and ended up getting some chai heavy milk foam drink...I told the barista I ordered a tea and just wanted to change it to what I wanted. She read the ticket of my drink and proceeded to make the same drink... After I realized what she was doing, I told her that I wanted TEA, hot water and a bag. She handed me a cup of tea no eye contact no apology. Just annoyed and a look of how much I inconvenienced her. I can see why Cemone K. called this place a hit or miss. I've been coming to this location to study and write my papers a lot lately, and I've noticed that they are really friendly towards their frequent customers. They are on a first name basis with people and even their personal lives. It's nice IF you are among those frequent customers.. .. Nothing to complain about. Same as most other Starbucks. Usually I don't visit this location but a lunch meeting brought me to the plaza. Can get very crowded during the lunch hour (which was when I went) so beware for that. I assume same will be for the morning. However, despite the long line, we received our coffee fairly quickly. One of us bought one of their new sodas and I had an iced americano. Very bitter, make sure you add a little sweetener. Parking lot can also become pretty packed so plan time accordingly. And expect to park in the back of the lot and walk a ways (for anyone who goes to work in heels). read more

This starbucks needs to understand the importance of appropriate signage. Two weeks ago they were open, lots of people in line but they had no coffee. There were no signs on either door saying there was no coffee. Instead we had to wait in the line and then be told. It was frustrating! Today I showed up and the doors were locked. This Starbucks is located in Park Place. Every time I come here the parking has always been bad, but I was fortunate enough to find an open space. There were a lot of people seated at the outdoor patio seating area but it didn't indicate which door was the entrance so I just went in that one because I parked on that side of the parking lot. The drink I ordered was made to spec. It took a while to come out, probably because it was busy. The customers waiting for drinks were not very considerate of the order in which they arrived and stood in front of the pickup area while I got mine. The place is a PokéStop. read more

S-bucks is not my 1st choice for coffee or tea but when it's the only choice in the area I do appreciate it. This evening we came in for an after dinner refreshing iced tea. Since I'm not a regular I had no idea what to order but the nice lady behind the counter was helpful and patient and eager to make sure I was happy. She suggested the Teavana Passion Tango (shaken, not stirred) and I was quite pleased. So much so I jumped on Amazon to look at delivery options for the tea. Turns out there's a Teavana a 5 minute drive from me so I'll be visiting soon to pick up a supply of Passion Tango. Decaffeinated, hibiscus, cimmamony ice cold deliciousness. This tea knocked my socks off especially because it's decaf and perfect for an after dinner or late evening refresher. Loved that the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating and a plus that there wasn't that obnoxiously busy morning rush, it was after all almost 9pm. Perfect! Lots of mosquitoes, thanks Mother Nature...so be warned. Very poor service. I've done online and in person ordering and they never get it right. All I ask extra is ice and cinnamon and I never get them. It's very small but very important to me and it's very confusing since every other Starbucks I've been to does not have this issue. I can get over the fact that they have never gotten my name right, but this is just getting ridiculous. Last time they even gave me the wrong size! I just hope they do something to improve this. My favorite Starbucks in Irvine! The baristas here are friendlier and they always get your drink right. One time I spilled my Americano inside the store and they gave me a new one, free of charge! I felt so bad but they were super nice about it! There is a pretty outdoor seating area with plants and shade so it's always nice to people-watch in this area. The only cons I can think of here is the lack of indoor seating areas and it gets very busy often. There aren't too many outlets for studying compared to other Starbucks but at least that means you won't see a ton of students hogging up the tables for several hours! The parking here can get hectic but there is also a parking lot across the street, which is free for two hours. read more

If you have an extra 15 minutes during your morning commute then this is the perfect place to waste time. You'll spend at least 10 minutes in line waiting to order and another 5 (if you're lucky) waiting for your beverage. Even something as simple as a black Americano can take 8 minutes on some days. Unfortunately, this doesn't make this location unique. It actually makes it the norm for most Starbucks locations these days. I'm not sure if it's poor management, inadequate corporate leadership, or a breakdown of internal processes and systems -- but something seems very wrong with this Starbucks and most others I've visited recently. The other downside about this particular location is that it's very small on the inside so if you ever want to grab a table and work -- good luck. You have to arrive by 7:15am at the latest and you better have an awesome pair of noise cancelling headphones with the music cranked up because it's also extremely loud due to the small space. Overall, a very poor place to grab your morning coffee unless -- of course -- you like waiting in lines in otherwise small and loud spaces. read more

Starbucks was the cafe where I ordered my first cup of coffee. After a year of being a customer, I think that Starbucks' environment and customer service are exceptional, but their coffee should only be consumed for its caffeine content and stimulating qualities rather than taste. The service and speed of drink delivery has really improved over the last 6 months, especially with mobile online ordering. On multiple occasions, I have ordered my drink while walking over and it's ready before I arrive. The staff is really doing an excellent job to make this location feel like your home away from home. Parking can be limited in the afternoon, but there is an additional parking structure behind the LA Fitness in the center.
