Got a Venti mocha Frappuccino and something was wrong...I don't know the recipe but it wasn't creamy and had no "sweet" at all. It tasted like a black coffee smoothie- just ice and black coffee. I'm pretty sure the young man making it didn't add all the ingredients. He had a hard time getting it to come out of the blender into the cup. I threw it away.I'm done with this location. Waited 10 minutes for a triple expresso. When I finally reached the window, I asked for it to be made again because it was cold. The employee got an attitude and handed it off to be remade. AND WRONG AT THAT. It's straight expresso without the one raw sugar I asked for. THE SLOWEST location you'll ever experience! It takes 40 minutes to get through the drive through between the hours 9am-1pm. You can't even order inside or online during those time. They're always out of things and won't even tell you once you make your purchase, like hello that's why I'm paying the extra money. The drink never comes out the way I want it to taste. This Starbucks is the worst I have ever been to!!! Ever!! And I've been to many after living in several locations throughout my entire life. I don't know why I keep going back. Maybe because they're one of the closest ones. Maybe because I hope this time will be different. So every time I go to the River City Marketplace Starbucks in Jax (seems like it anyway) they are either completely out of something (which I understand, but when you're near an airport, shouldn't you be anticipating the extra influx of people?????) or one of their machines is down. Sometimes they'll tell you up front after you order at the drive thru, sometimes they'll tell you after you've waited in their line for thirty minutes. Just depends on how they're feeling that particular day or if everyone's communicating with each other. Meh. And then, if I mutter even a semblance of a complaint (which I honestly rarely do since I've worked in customer service and know it's not necessarily the employee's fault), I am promptly reprimanded by an indignant employee. Or an employee makes a snide comment just loud enough to where I can hear it, such as, "Why do I always get the janky customers??" Yep, not even joking. They need new management pronto!! What happened to customer service?! There was a time when Starbucks was held to a higher standard. With new local coffee shops popping up, they can't afford to get lax about it. Or maybe then can, which is why they're not too concerned. Either way, you can bet this janky customer will be telling all of her janky friends just how janky your store operates! The employees for the most part are very friendly, I used to come every day and didn't mind waiting because my drink was always right and everybody was so kind. However the recent employees that have been hired are pretty rude when taking orders, they also seem to get upset if you have any drink customizations. If you come here you kind of just need to expect to wait at least 20 minutes for a coffee. Every time I have went through the drive through for the past 2 months my drink has been made incorrectly, with the exception of this really nice guy that works early mornings 7/8ish and always makes it right. Seems to me that it's a typical Starbucks. Nothing shinning or great about this location over the other I typically go to. I will comment about some of the others who have left a review. The quality of the coffees served here is good, this is another Starbucks that does not smell like burned coffee and its very clean. I would have given it one more star but I was there on a Friday night and they were busy and extremely disorganized. Starbucks is supposed to write your name on your cup, these people were too busy to do so, so if you weren't standing immediately next to the delivery station, someone who arrived later than you would snatch up your order. Yeah, well, it is what it is. I don't go to Starbucks often b/c I don't care about coffee enough to pay their prices regularly and I make my own tea at home so there u have it. Now I am a BIG HUGE fan of their pumpkin bread, but that's seasonal so, moving right along. Speaking of seasonal, Florida is mostly hot no matter the season, but July is just almost unbearable. I was in the area, walking distance from this Starbucks, and decided to treat myself to a cold tea or something. I wound up getting the Peach Green Tea Lemonade and it hit the spot. Nice blend of flavors. It was a decent drink, I wouldn't necessarily find it anywhere else, but it wasn't anything to write home about. It was a cold drink on a hot day. Not only did I have to wait 20 minutes but I also received the wrong food. Correct label, instead of egg bites I received a sandwich (which BTW is disgusting!). This isn't the 1st time I've had issues with this location. They're always the slowest it doesn't matter if you go through the drive thru or inside. Uhm... is this a Starbucks? Wow. Employees seem to be in over their heads. Never in my life have I waited longer for a latte. Insane... wife ordered oatmeal and didn't get it. She waited at the pickup, reminded a barista who gave her a 'I don't really believe you' look. She eventually went to prep the oatmeal and that's where it ended again. This Starbucks is extremely busy, especially Saturday morning at 11am. Yet, they shock me every time. The staff is so guest service oriented. There's one particular person that sticks out every time I come here, because he's so personable his name is Allestair. The baristas at this location are friendly enough but there is such a backlog in their drive through that it affects ingress and egress in their parking lot. Today my wife and I waited 16 minutes for a chai tea latte and a smoked butterscotch latte. It is hard to say that it was a "bad" experience per se, but anyone expecting the Starbucks standard will be disappointed. The butterscotch latte was really weak, practically all milk. I've haven't had issue with this Starbucks so far. Drinks are out in a reasonable time, given how busy they can be, my mobile order is always there by the time I get to the store, and my drinks are always made correctly. I'm glad I know my usual orders because I swear the menu gets smaller and smaller, down to ONE menu panel and some promo shots last time I went in. Probably a corporate thing, but sheesh. Know what you want ahead of time since there's nothing to look over, or look at the menu on their phone app (as a barista suggested to someone at the register lmao wtf). I don't know why some idiot designed this tiny parking lot for a Starbucks! 98% of the time the line for the drive thru extends into the lot, locking you into your parking spot. I highly suggest either parking at the END or across the way to avoid having to wait for the line to go down, or someone happens to be nice enough to let you out. read more
