A hot coffee Too simple? Instead of my drink order being some "upside down with light frap iced without the creamer but add whipped cream...soy milk and a extra shot" nonsense, it was just a simple "hot coffee" Couldn't even deliver on that My cup came out so cold I didn't even need a cardboard sleeve for it I assume the barista knew it too since she didn't even put one on there An empty store makes me assume at least some sort of attention is being put into my order I guess not read more

Great location, but there is never any room and the line is always backed up. If you need to meet with someone or have work to do I suggest going to the Fletcher Parkway Grossmont Trolley location. I really like the location and how close it is to Barnes & Noble, it is just to crowded. read more

It's an okay location. The staff are either really friendly when you come, or they couldn't care less to be there on other days. Really crammed, so good luck getting a table. The bathroom door always breaks, too. Other than that, the drinks are always correct when they come out...except for one time when I got a refill to go, they didn't put my requested chestnut praline syrup in it and instead put some gross gingerbread flavor in there that I suffered through the next day when I finally drank it. First world problem? Yes, but you should get what you asked and paid for. read more

I am a sucker for Starbucks. It's just the fact of the matter. The only problem I have with Starbucks in general is that their drip coffee is so dang STRONG! And... I tend to want the caffeine, which is best found in drip coffee. So on days like today, which are cold, I have some trouble choosing a drink. Today, for the first time, I had an Awake tea latte... it was DELICIOUS! But, note to caffeine lovers, a grande still only gets you one teabag, which is not enough in my book! Next time I'll ask for two. Now enough raving about the drink and Starbucks in general--let's talk my experience here. My husband and I were about to embark on day 2 of Christmas shopping during the last few days before the holiday. We headed over to Grossmont Center, and stopped in to get our caffeine fix. I've been to this Starbucks in the past, and can't remember having a negative experience-it's always been just fine. Today was excellent. There was quite a line (again, holiday season), but it moved pretty quick. Just before it was our turn to order, the barista came over to get our drinks started. When we moved to the cashier, the barista told the cashier what we ordered, so we didn't have to repeat ourselves. My husband, honest man that he is, let the cashier know he asked for an extra shot in his mocha--so the cashier told the barista this info, just to ensure the order would be correct. What service! We paid, and walked over to wait for our drinks... and they were ready as soon as we got there! Again, what service! We walked out happy and were soon caffeinated. It was a great start to a lovely shopping day. read more

Normally I don't have any gripes about a Starbucks seeing as how they're all basically the same, but this one is completely different. First of all this place is so tiny! It's way too small to be a popular coffee spot so forget about finding yourself a table with room to read the paper or God forbid you come with company. The service was poor and really unorganized seeing as how it's impossible to tell who's actually in line. This particular cafe is just like every other Starbuck's, but smaller. The service was fine I guess but it was crowded, there is basically no seating, and my iced latte was nothing special. Locally owned cafes usually have a lot more personality with better prices. read more

If this is the Starbucks within Target, the big young lady barista in the evenings is very rude. She shouldn't be dealing with customers.

I give this Starbucks 2 stars based on cleanliness and customer service. When my friend and I went into this store last night( not my first time there either), we were only greeted by the uneasy smell of coffee and bleach(which should not be in the lobby). The lack of greeting by any of the baristas was unwelcoming. When we received our drinks, the male barista had a condescending attitude, like we shouldn't have ordered the drinks we ordered. read more

Let me just take a moment to address THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM WITH THIS STARBS LOCATION THAT'S AN ISSUE: I have no complaint on the service or coffee quality from here. HERE'S THE MAIN ISSUE: (and sadly it's not something the staff nor anyone else can really control) This Starbucks tends to lure in what seems like homeless men who come from the trolley station that happens to be nearby. I'll assume homeless because they stay for 8+ hours easily and take up the best seats in the damn place, with their plastic bags full of food, drinks, probably all their living essentials and that's not okay. Students who come to study and people who come to have coffee dates with friends come in and aren't able to get a table because there's a few (homeless) regulars who come everyday and stay all day with all their stuff thrown on the floor and chairs and not only are they taking up the tables, they are taking up all the plugs to charge their phones and what not. It's ridiculous. If you plan to take a seat at this place, I suggest you go to a different location. read more

Most of the reviews for this particular Starbucks are bad in regards to the perceived negativity of the staff. I am going to say that I'm giving this starbucks 5 stars because I care more about product and service hours. Being that I live nearby, it is extremely convenient that this Starbucks is located right next to a Barnes and Noble and the movie theater, which I frequent. And because the movie theater is right there, this Starbucks accommodates moviegoers especially, in that they stay open later than most are sbuxes. They stay open until 11 p.m. Verses the typical 9 p.m. Starbucks close time. I love that! And they have never messed up my drink ....I also love that, because I'm there for my drink that I'm craving. If a staff member gave me the stink eye or was rude (which has never happend) I wouldn't care because the point is that I have my delicious drink that I'm addicted to, AND it is available to me as late as 11pm! They have free WiFi and I guess not to mention the fact that it's right across the street from the hospital so if I overdose on my vent cup of diabetes, well, I can practically walk myself to the hospital hahaha....Sbux can train their employees to be good, but sometimes if you encounter a strong personality, just remember that the staff are not robots, they are people. Did you really venture to Sbux to be treated like a queen? Some of you might read this and say, " yes, but I also didn't venture to Starbucks to be treated like a piece of crap" Yaaaa well That's what the spa is for, or when you fork over the big bucks to be impressed at Mr. A's...... they have your drink, and they stay open later...... thank you starbucks for accommodating me read more

Used to be one of the best Starbucks to visit because the staff was friendly and "homey." But, the younger and newer staff is so preoccupied with rules that they have lost the personal touch. Also, the coffee quality at Starbucks has been slipping. Paying $2-$3 for a GOOD cup of coffee might be worth it. But, when it starts tasting like weak coffee everywhere else, it isn't such a great deal. Besides, if Starbucks is selling an "experience," it isn't just about making employees smile at everybody. Customer service is much more than that. read more
