This specific location ALWAYS closes their coffee & store down 3 HOURS EARLY. The woman Natalie (if that's even her real name) is horrible. She lies, is condescending, & frankly should be fired. The name of the store is Starbucks COFFEE - emphasis on COFFEE!! So they should NOT be shutting down the coffee machine 3 HOURS EARLY EVERY SINGLE DAY!! This needs to change. It's funny that I never really noticed this Starbucks after all these years. I stopped in for a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino after lunch at Sugarfish and the service was very friendly. Last time I was here was in 2012 I think and I ran into actress Bai Ling who proceeded to ask me to friend her on Facebook. I wanna say she is still on my Facebook but anyway. Today someone next to me is working on a screenplay which I used to come here to do back in the LMU days. Literally only here for memories sake. They have one table that has outlet access and everyone wants it it seems. Locked bathrooms. Typical modern Starbucks. Black coffee is the cheapest thing and free refills so at least I can look forward to a caffeine crash nap later since I wake up at 4am naturally these days. Speaking of I see they open at 4:30. They have like 5 roasts which I forgot Starbucks does technically sell coffee. I was surprised to see a selection to choose from I guess. Just went with pike place since I know from a former employee their coffee is burnt by their own standards. Nice service at least. Sadly the wifi here is so slow, on top of bitter coffee, this place is rendered entirely useless to me for any work purposes. read more

This is my hometown place. Well my new hometown place. I've lived in Marina Del Rey now for more than 3 years. I have seen this place go back and forth from great service to not so great depending on who they're hiring. Having been in the show business world and the food service hospitality industry I know how important it is to leave customers with a smile. There have been times where this place hasn't hired people that cared about the customer experience. But right now they have a great crew of people that seem to really work hard. This Starbucks also has a lot of room to sit and it's nice and relaxing to be in there. The only thing that's not great is that it doesn't have any plugs anymore so you cannot plug in your laptop or your phone. So many others Starbucks have that feature and it's much more welcoming to people who need to do some quiet work. Who wants to run out of charge? It's not a great decision by management. Their decorations on the wall are nice very apropos to the area. They used to have a joke of the day as well and that was fun. I haven't seen it for a couple of times now but it's fun to go and ask the baristas the question Today I was waited on by Alessandro. I haven't seen him before but he has an easy smile that puts people in a good mood and he's just really friendly and professional and easygoing which I really like. He had a musician performer vibe but was totally focusing on the customers in a very welcoming way. I didn't have a big order today just a venti Americano some ice water and some oatmeal. I love that they put all of the extras on the side for the oatmeal. There are mixed nuts, fruit which is dried, and brown sugar which I'm not using. Even though it's yummy lol. The only thing I would add is cinnamon I put cinnamon in everything. The vibe was great today and everybody was getting waited on in a timely manner which was wonderful everything was running smoothly. I sat there for a while with my little dog and did some writing. It's noisy in there but it's not so noisy that it's distracting it kind of helps you to just focus if you want to. I hope this Starbucks stays just like this. With employees like Alessandro.. and the peppy manager the rest of the crew I think their choices of staff are great. I'm going to get more of their names next time and post them there's this one girl with long black curly hair always goes the extra mile with a warm smile. I have seen this place go through good and bad staff and I'm happy right now that customer service seems to be a higher priority. Worked here and miss it. I loved the atmosphere. That they're kind and friendly. The product is always exceptional. I've been a frequent regular of Starbucks for the last fifteen years. My favorites are a triple shot vanilla latte and the brown sugar iced shaken espresso. They have all kinds of seasonal varietals as well. That are eye catching and flavorful. I have been coming to this location for many many years and get some seriously rude behavior and lack of customer service and professionalism when I ask a question I get cold rushed often rude replies a lot of the time, minus a few very nice staff but it's ridiculous and I spend good money. I am made to feel consistently dismissed and I just tried something new which I didn't like and simply try to ask for an added few shots of flavor because I only had 3 in a vente which gets 5. And, I didn't even ask him to remake it but he the. says he's gonna have charge me, with a sour miserable reaction & attitude. I don't like it at all sadly and having been sick a week & really wanted something good since I haven't been able to have coffee. And this is what I get. !!!?? He wasn't listening but rushing, and I said a shot of vanilla first then he said blonde and I didn't want more espresso I wanted to mask the pecan I didn't like. With the flavor of vanilla! He didn't at all ask me to remake it which would have been better and usually most would do. But instead brushed me off embarrassing me in front of other customers who teamed up as if I was asking for more espresso. Which I said I WAS NOT!!! I said the pumps, cause I only got 3. And it comes with 5! It became a thing and I'm pissed. No wonder Starbucks is loosing customers and business. I walked into Starbucks in Marina del Rey (next to Sugarfish Sushi) and received top shelf service from Tyler. I am not a frequent outside the house coffee drinker, so I had no clue what to offer (kind of an overwhelming experience with so many choices). I explained my situation to Tyler (and that it was my actual birthday) and he asked me a few simple questions to help narrow down my choice (e.g., coffee, matcha, or tea, sweet or not, hot or cold). He then created a drink for me and gave me a taste to make sure I liked it. It was AMAZING! If you go here and you see a line of people waiting for food, stick to getting a drink. The order line moves quickly, but several people jumped ahead of me to complain about having waited 20 minutes for a chocolate croissant, or 15 minutes only to receive double cooked (burnt) egg bites. Definitely one of the BEST starbucks locations on this side of town. I've never experienced such a kind and friendly barista first thing in the morning at a starbucks. Generally I visit 5-6 days a week first thing in the morning and the young lady barista (speaks Russian) is always super friendly and welcoming. Even when I have the most complex order she ALWAYS gets it 100% correct. -1 star as the afternoon/evening shift crew aren't quite as friendly and sometimes try to hurry along the line and I've had a few issues with my order over the past few months but it's always mid/late day, never in the mornings. Either way I highly recommend this place especially for the avid coffee drinkers who need a pick me up to start the day. read more

One of the better Starbucks in the area. It's located in the busy Waterside Marina Del Rey shopping center, along side the usual shopping center suspects and some nicer high end shops. This place is hopping every Saturday when I'm there, but these Baristas know what they are doing. The line might be long but the wait will be short. It's a pretty good sized store with plenty of indoor seating, but I really recommend sitting outside in the large patio area and taking in some sun. read more

The coffee place next door was absolutely swarming with people, but when we walked into Starbuck's, the wait was only a minute or two. We found a nice table outside in the patio under the trees, and enjoyed our lattes and watched the dogs. Wow, are there ever a lot of dogs at this place. Next time I'm bringing Joey. Night manager Tyler arbitrarily closed both bathrooms at 8:25PM while customers still using the store. I asked to use the bathroom and was not only denied but also treated rudely and disrespectful by the night manager Tyler, who told me if I needed to use the bathroom go use the bathroom at the restaurant next door even though I was their their customer, purchased coffe there, and have been coming there regularly since last May of 2023 With this never being an issue before. No signs were posted on either bathroom doors. I Called the store the next day and day after to speak with Store Manager who has yet to acknowledge my complaint or return my calls. Service is great. I came here ar 4:45pm to grab some food before heading out to an event. I picked up the chicken and fig sandwich and a ZA'ATAR Chicken salad with Lemon Tahini . Both were ok. The price points a bit steep but thats starbucks for you and I didnt have time to eat at CPK across the way. The seating is limited, literally small bar tables in the entry with limited plug in outlets and the back, packed with small tables with people studying or chit chatting again no room! Seeing no one was going to give up an empty chair and hog the tables, i decided to eat outside at the tables in front of Mendocino Farms. Better ambiance but slightly brisk. I would like to have more seating but it is what it is. read more

I'm glad to have this Starbucks here, but they should really take a lesson from Peet's across the street on Covid protocol. Their door is always closed instead of propped open to encourage air flow which isn't great. Having people go all the way inside to pick up drinks seems to be encouraging people to hang out inside, like this person who just stood there--inside--talking on the phone--even after being asked to put on her mask. The employees are consistently friendly, which I really appreciate. Also love that Starbucks has coconut milk, unlike so many other chain coffeehouses. My two complaints here are they should be propping open their door -- both so I don't have to touch it and for air flow -- and they should have an employee dedicated to enforcing mask wearing of customers since customers are allowed inside. I recently visited this location after placing a mobile order. Upon my arrival, my drinks were ready, but made incorrectly. When I approach the barista about fixing the incorrect drinks I was rudely approached & had to wait an additional 20 minutes to get my drink after the barista error. Staff can definitely use a training on customer service and how to handle situations when they have made a mistake. This location used to be my favorite and go to location but I will no longer return to this location!! read more

2pm, Friday afternoon. 88 degrees at the beach, in November. At Waterside shopping center in Marina del Rey, they must not have heard about the recession. Cuz in the huge lot, every parking space was occupied, as usual, and people were circling like vultures, hoping to snag a spot the second it was vacated. When you finally did get to park, the battle really had just begun: Every cafe and almost every shop had a line. Every public seat at every umbrella table.... was taken. I thought they all had been crazy when, not so very long ago, this entire plaza was torn apart and remodeled. Even Ralphs got a facelift. Black & white awnings went up, in went a fountain & cobblestone walkways, and expensive shops arrived. And now they have customers coming out their ears. I stand corrected. I put myself through this parking nightmare in the upscale MarinaZoo all for the sake of: iced black tea. Can't live with it, can't live without it. read more
