I was walking back from the doctor and it was cold outside, so I thought I'd slip in and grab a hot coffee. The baristas were super friendly and the inside was nice. To my pleasant surprise, Pistachio Latte is back. It's the small things that make me happy! Pistachio Latte is my guilty pleasure and I can't resist! The pistachio is not too sweet and a little salty. The syrup pairs perfectly with espresso and steamed milk and is even better with a biscotti! This Starbucks gets busy during the day and early evenings but never busy enough to have a line. Wished they had more than one bathroom though as a line did form for that a few times. The baristas here are nice and have conversations with customers when the cafe isn't busy. They seem to have a lot of regulars here. I'd recommend this one over the location on Madison just down the street, as it gets a lot less crowded and is open late read more

I'm not one to spend a lot of time or money in Starbucks. My daughter is a big fan. Every time we hang out together a visit to a Starbucks is inevitable. This time we were near this location on Lexington not far from 86th Street. For a cool overcast Saturday mid morning it was not overwhelmingly busy. She was served quickly and we were in and out. While I waited I snapped some shots of the lovely decor. It has an upscale vibe I don't feel in other Starbucks. Marble containers to store the coffee additives. Nice modern art work. Baristas with stylish hats. This place is in a world of its own! Just thought I'd share this very smart upscale Starbucks with all of you. If you're in the vicinity you may want to give them a try. Just remember my reason for not entering frequently in the past is the long lines and crowds sitting with their computers using the free WiFi. We caught them at a down time today. read more

My new favorite Manhattan Starbucks. On the Upper East Side so a much more relaxed atmosphere than many of the others around time. It was busy but not overwhelmingly so like so many of the others. Was able to sit in a comfortable chair for awhile and actually hear the music they were piping in. The friendly and helpful staff contributed to the great vibe this location throws off. read more

Not the greatest Starbucks in the city. Service is really good, friendly and efficient, I'll give it a 4.5 star. But the environment is just a solid 3 star. They recently just had a renovation to changed out all the older furnitures and remove all the tables and turn everything into window bar seating. I feel that it's a smart idea so that customer turnover rate will be higher, but if you want to get some work done here, it's not a good place. They only have one bathroom and it is quite inconvenient because it does need to be cleaned quite often and that leave no bathroom for the customer. I order Chai Latte every store I go, and compared to other stores this place has the most watered down chai. I can barely taste the cinnamon even though I got a tall. If it wasn't for the fact that I urgently needed to take a shit and this place saved my ass (literally) I would have given two stars. I stopped in this morning for a grande Carmel almond milk latte and an Impossible sandwich. The staff was super friendly and organized. I got my order really fast, which was surprising because it was busy in there. The best part about this store was the vibe. The playlist in there was on point! I study at Starbucks probably 5 day a week. This is part of the Starbucks review series. Overall: 4/5 tl;dr: The cutest Starbucks in this part of the woods! Really small and really crowded. (if you need SB seating really badly, walk 2 blocks up to the 87th and Lex SB or 1 block south and 1 block east to the 84th and 3rd SB!) ---- LAYOUT: This store is probably the smallest around here, not counting the SB on 1st and 85th. They remodeled a few months ago and now they have two bar-like tables, one facing 85th on the N end of the store, and one running down the store kind of diagonally, with a few tables scattered on the W side of the store. It's designed to be an in-n-out location. It became really cute after they remodeled it, and it looks nice both on the inside and the outside (ps. I think they are trying not to be outdone by the uber-cute Little Brown across the street) STAFF: Helpful all the times I've been here in the past. CROWD: I've stopped coming here mainly because it is getting way too crowded. They actually expanded the number of seats after they remodeled it, but since it looks nicer people tend to linger longer. Seems to be a mix of people who get off work, people who are coming from the 86th St, and some people who sit in SB all day and listen to music or use FB. BATHROOM: On the NE corner of the store. It's generally pretty clean for the standards around here. OUTLET: Not sure if they wired the central bar, but plugs are sparse at this SB. There's one around where the bar is now, one on the E side of the street (near where the tables are now), and then one on the bar counter which faces north. read more

This location is slower than my regular Starbucks on 85th and 1st. It is a little bit bigger but because it is located on main street (Lexington) it is a lot busier and slower! I watch their supply chain organization, there are definitely room for improvement. There was 1 barista behind the counter. And they were running around trying to fill syrups, caramel, etc. The staff are friendly, but i just think it's a bit slow! Today was the busiest I've seen any Starbucks on the UES in over a year, but the team handled with fluidity, grace, and a sincere sense of urgency in making sure drinks were made quickly and efficiently. The team was so cohesive, it didn't seem like they even needed to verbally communicate their needs - they just knew their colleague needed more drink stoppers, or a lid, etc. They're always so friendly and helpful, so I always try to choose this location vs. others in the area. This was the run of the mill starbucks. I must say that there was just a disconnect between the barista and cashier. The barista was quick pumping out the drinks but whoever the hisptser yuppie was at the register, could barely count change fast enough to allow of the customers to get their drinks at the temperature that they were supposed to be served.
