I love the indoor design and seating arrangements. You are able to pick up your coffee and go about your day. I would like to hang out more here if i can. The food is absolutely impeccable. I had the drink that truly made me enjoy strawberries after disliking their flavor for a long period of time. Some workers write encouraging notes on your cup though one of the servers are a bit rude. Though it is totally possible they may have had a bad day. Although this was right downstairs from us, I only went once which I'm kind of proud of since I used to be so addicted to Starbucks. Service was efficient and quick. I admit I'm quite lazy, and one thing I noticed here (we don't have these out west) is the 'leaning' customers were doing while waiting for their orders. Not sure what the proper name is for these bars, but of course I leaned myself and found it quite comfortable. It's not one of those memorable Starbucks because it has a view on a waterfall or something like that, but it's what I needed and probably what a lot of people need. Starbucks stores in or near Midtown Manhattan don't stay open as long as one might expect. I am referring to stores near Columbus Circle and other trafficked locations in the "city that never sleeps." That said, I turned to my phone and found this Starbucks store, which closed at 10:30 p.m. I knew it was in the Hudson Yards area at the top end of the High Line, but, it's right there, in a great location about a block away from the rather grand Hudson Yards subway station that is the terminus for line 7 and others. I was able to get an iced tea and a pastry. Even though it was in the high 80s F, I remember it being extremely humid all day, with a gray sky yet no rain. I saw that they had some flavored iced teas, saw some flavors that interested me, and, by consulting with another barista, the person who helped me made it come together in terms of customization. That iced tea was delicious and thirst quenching. The pastry that was shown as an example in the baked goods case was no longer available that late in the day, so I settled for a slice of lemon pound cake. It was fine. Inside, this Starbucks store has tall ceilings, a lot of glass, and a generally nice feel. I'm sorry I didn't get to enjoy it during daylight hours. I had to work backwards to when I should leave the store, given that I'd be taking a 7 subway to Port Authority and then one of the last runs of a certain NJ Transit bus line to the "dark side." (I'm kidding, but Manhattanites can be a little full of themselves, and I'm poking fun at that.) In short, I'm glad that this Starbucks was open at a time I was looking for one and that they were very helpful, even more so than in some smaller metro areas and suburbs. I'm pretty surprised by the number of positive reviews. The location is great, to be fair. Great view of the vessel as others have mentioned. However, I came in for a pumpkin crème cold brew and it was nothing like a pumpkin crème cold brew I'm accustomed to. It was extremely milky and overly sweet. The first time, there wasn't even any "pumpkin" flavoring. One of the baristas kindly offered to remake it, which is why I even gave 2 stars. This Starbucks is located in the newly-developed Hudson Yards, right in front of the Shops, but in the same plaza. I loved that this particular Starbucks location is open late! The place is clean, bright, and spacious, but they do have limited tables to sit and enjoy your beverage and/or snacks. Staff are very friendly and kind! I had their Dragon Drink, which I felt was the most perfectly-prepared and the most tastiest that I've had at any location - it wasn't diluted at all and had great mango and dragonfruit flavors. They didn't have diced dragonfruit, but they were able to substitute the frozen strawberries instead. Starbucks at this Hudson Yards location is very convenient for me when I visit my daughter at her office. Sometimes I take the subway with her when she goes to work. When I get there I head for coffee. When I go to Starbucks there's no surprises. I know what I'm getting. It's clean and comfortable. Customer Service is typical for a Starbucks. I usually don't venture in this part of Manhattan but I am in the Hudson yard area and the will wait for my cuz inside the local Starbucks and enjoy a large overpriced decaffeinated Cappy and whatever sweet pastries looks fresh or close enough . The interior is bright , spacious, modern , with plenty of comfy seating options , I shared a communal table with a gal who was a bit too loud and a bit too personal with her phone conversation but my hot drink is good and so is my pound cake . Strong wifi , friendly staff , and I just moved into a really comfortable lounge chair and my extended wait for my cuz is not an issue at Starbucks at the Hudson yard. read more
